The facilities at the resort were entertaining. The pools were refreshing for the summer heat. My favorite place to eat was the Harbourside Bar & Grill. The location was nice as it was right on the beach and only a few minute shuttle ride to some offsite restaurants/ bars. I would stay again.

Tween Waters is a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.The view from our balcony was spectacular. They have several restaurants on the property with a wide assortment of choices. They were always packed, so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. The foor was good, not great but their drinks were exceptional. The service was OK, a little slow, but the servers were friendly. The beach was across the street and we got many pictures of beautiful sunsets. They have a 2 hour conplimentary use of some kayaks. You need to sign up for them at the little blue shack at the marina. The kayaks need a lot of TLC. I guess that is what to expect from sometning that is free. The pools were beautiful and clean. So were the hot tubs.

The Mermaid Home may be called a cottage, but this cozy house is as well updated and perhaps better equipped than a new luxury home. Included is a 43' Smart HDTV, a 6-disc CD player with a large music selection, Bluetooth connection to our 100-watt Onkyo receiver with Bose inside speakers and outside pool speakers. Wireless Comcast cable Internet is in place. The primary bedroom has a King bed with 32" Smart HDTV and a new master bath with shower. The guest bedroom is twin equipped and has an HDTV with DVD. The living room provides a very comfortable Natuzzi Italian leather queen-size sleeper sofa, The new hallway bath services the guest room and living room guests.The kitchen is new and fully equipped with a New S/S ice-making refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Cuisinart drip coffee maker, Keurig, and all utensils. The adjacent open dining area has a table for 4 and stools at the kitchen bar for 2 more. A Weber gas grill is outside the kitchen and pool area, with a spare propane tank always available for heavy use. New washer and dryer provided in the adjacent laundry room. Included is a handy beach cart with soft sand tires to haul all the beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, beach toys, and beach towels to the beachThe grounds are covered with many varieties of tropical flowering plants (though replanted and recovering from the storm), the beach is a short 2-4 -minute walk and the docks of the bay of the Green Flash Restaurant are even closer. Captiva Island has weathered the storms and is back to its beautiful self! The first photos were taken on February 2, 2025 and reflect the restoration of our community (Sunset Captiva). Restaurants are open, the beaches are pristine, fishing is great and the wildlife is amazing. Our home is built on stilts and has a backyard full of citrus trees and orchids. Located at located 40 Oster Court, the house a beautiful two-bedroom home with a separate den/office with a bunk bed. It is The house is furnished and equipped as a second home--not a 'rental unit.' All three of the bathrooms are new. Our family loves to cook --the kitchen is a cook's kitchen. We are located on the quiet part of a private community, Sunset Captiva, just a few minutes walk from the pool and beach. We have a small citrus grove behind the house (grapefruit, orange, meyer lemon and key lime trees) and an extensive orchid collection. Several good restaurants are within a two minute walk. The community pool is only a three minute walk away. The beach is just a minute further. There is great boating and fishing. The beach is extraordinary and extends for miles. This is a great vacation home for young families. We have two pak-n-plays, a high chair and baby monitor. We are at the end of a cul de sac- away from the noise on Andy Rosse lane -and the setting is quiet and private. This cute open concept home is great for gathering, relaxing, and making memories. Stroll just a few minutes to the white sugar sand beach, or take the complimentary golf cart to further beach access points and some of the best shelling you've ever experienced, jog for miles in the nature preserve, dine at the few local restaurants (Mainstays, the Boathouse, Over the Waterfront, Mangos at the Pool), or just tour this remote slice of paradise. Return to the house for a BBQ and more relaxation while avoiding the bugs in the screened in porch.This island is only accessible by boat, ferry, or private plane. Once on the island, golf carts, bikes and walking are the modes of transportation. You can park at the ferry and take the short ferry ride over to North Captiva. Grocery shopping is recommended prior to coming to the island. You can pick up groceries on your way, or we do have grocery services that will pick up and stock the house with your groceries prior to your arrival for a fee.If you are familiar with the island, it is on the north end, near the private airstrip. Public beach and bay access is at the end of the each side of the airstrip and this is the safest beach area on the island. You can also access the beach at other areas of the island, using the complimentary 4 person golf cart. Please note, there is no cost to use the golf cart. In the event of mechanical golf cart failure of any kind, it may not be able to be fixed during your stay and no compensation will be provided. The house is nestled among the native palms, and has a private, wildlife-friendly setting you will love. Beautiful beaches and refreshing pools are a short walk (5 minutes or less) or a couple minutes away by golf cart (included; see details below*). North Captiva is a bridge-less, car-free island situated in between the coastal barrier islands of Captiva and Cayo Costa. Transportation is provided by scheduled water taxis, private charter, or your own boat. The island has over 5 miles of pristine sandy beaches to explore and the southern portion includes over 350 acres of protected state park land. Golf carts, bicycles, and sandy feet are the typical mode of transportation (shoes are optional). Guests of Gumbo Limbo will be registered with both The Island Club at North Captiva and the Safety Harbor Club and will have use of their amenities including their 3 large pools, tennis & pickle ball courts, private beach access and use of sea kayaks and bicycles. Through special arrangement with the host, a boat dock space can be rented for a daily fee at the Safety Harbor Club wharf (boat registration & insurance info will need to be provided for SHC). Welcome to North Captiva Island! A short, ferry ride separates you from reality, for your tropical paradise vacation. As you approach the island by boat, the troubles and worries of the real world will fade away. Be on the lookout for tranquil manatees and playful dolphins that love to show off their aerial skills. Roughly 25 minutes after leaving the mainland, you will step ashore at one of the two ferry docks on the island. A host from our new property management company will greet you at the dock and escort you, via golf cart, the very short distance to Paradise Palms. There are no paved roads, traffic lights or traffic jams on this island. A North Captiva traffic jam is three golf carts within 50 yards of each other. North Captiva is a barrier island with five miles of beautiful white sand beaches, no crowds, turtles, dolphins and manatees. The majority of the island is State Park which you can enjoy free of charge. This custom, spacious home, built in 2015, is one of the few on the island that has a private pool located on the living level. You won't have to walk downstairs to enjoy the pool or cook on the grill. Simply walk out any of the 3 sliding glass doors from the kitchen, master suite or bedroom. The house has beautiful new furnishings and has been professionally decorated. The kitchen is fully stocked, complete with modern stainless steel appliances and a blender for your frozen drinks. The sky deck has 360 degree views of the Gulf of Mexico, Cayo Costa and Pine Island Sound. North Captiva Island has so much to offer! Walk any of the five miles of beaches, looking for shells. Charter a boat with one of the many experienced Captains to experience world class fishing. Kayak, paddle-board or swim in the warm shallow waters that surround the island. Load up your golf cart and head to the pristine white sand beaches to spend the day. Walk into the park and find your own stretch of private beach with no one around. Head back to your private pool for a cocktail and grill up the catch of the day or walk the beach at sunset, then head to one of the four great restaurants on the island for dinner. Don't forget to catch the moon and stars from the sky deck before turning in. There is plenty of room for all to gather in the open concept living area. The Master suite has a queen bed, attached bathroom, two dressers, a closet and a sliding glass door for pool deck access. This beautiful home (sleeps 6 adults and 4 children) is extremely close to the ocean and a Florida sugar sand beach which is often uninhabited except by wading birds, ghost crabs, osprey and snook. This property features direct beach access so you can walk right onto the beach and into the Gulf of Mexico located about 100 steps from our front door. North Captiva Island features some of the most secluded beaches in the continental United States. Many times of the year, your family may be the only ones on the beach.North Captiva Island is only accessible by water taxi and there are no cars on the island. Transportation on the island is by golf cart which is provided with your rental, walking or bicycle. There are no paved roads, only sandy paths winding through tropical vegetation. It is truly a unique setting. Palm trees, gumbo limbo trees and beautiful flowers are everywhere.Our favorite activities are fishing, shelling, swimming and exploring the beach and state land. There are a large number of wading birds, gopher tortoises, raccoons, brown pelicans, osprey, egrets, cormorants, bald eagles, ibis and sanderlings. There are two very nice swimming pools maintained by our island club a short walk or golf cart drive from our house. Kayaks and bicycles are also available at no charge through the island club. Tarpon, sea trout, red fish, snook, and snapper may be caught from the shore. Shelling is a daily activity on the island. North Captiva is often described as the shelling capital of North America.Our house, Perfect Placement, is beautifully appointed and completely remodeled after hurricane Charlie. The kitchen is large and modern with Corian counters, new appliances and gulf views. The house is large enough that 2 families of four can stay comfortably. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor: a master bedroom with a gulf view and a guest bedroom with a double bed. There are 2 full baths on the first floor. On the second floor there is a large bedroom with a private porch and an excellent gulf view which could serve as a second master bedroom. There is also a bunk bed room with 2 sets of bunk beds providing sleeping for 4 children. Both bedrooms share a hall bath.Because the house is on the west shore of North Captiva we are often witness to stunning sunsets which can be observed from your bedroom or the back deck. Don't forget your camera to help capture some memories. If you are lucky you may see Dolphin playing in the surf, Tarpon showing past the first breakers and the legendary stoop of the brown pelican fishing. They have several restaurants on the property with a wide assortment of choices. They were always packed, so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. The foor was good, not great but their drinks were exceptional. The service was OK, a little slow, but the servers were friendly. The beach was across the street and we got many pictures of beautiful sunsets. They have a 2 hour conplimentary use of some kayaks. You need to sign up for them at the little blue shack at the marina. The kayaks need a lot of TLC. I guess that is what to expect from sometning that is free. The pools were beautiful and clean. So were the hot tubs.
