Tween Waters is a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.The view from our balcony was spectacular. They have several restaurants on the property with a wide assortment of choices. They were always packed, so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. The foor was good, not great but their drinks were exceptional. The service was OK, a little slow, but the servers were friendly. The beach was across the street and we got many pictures of beautiful sunsets. They have a 2 hour conplimentary use of some kayaks. You need to sign up for them at the little blue shack at the marina. The kayaks need a lot of TLC. I guess that is what to expect from sometning that is free. The pools were beautiful and clean. So were the hot tubs.

Dining choices include a dining room or the screened, furnished lanai by the re-finished swimming pool and paver stone-covered pool deck, or even the furnished sun & moon deck on the top level.The glass-sided living room, with a leather, super comfortable sleeper sofa and side chairs, offers a panoramic view of the swimming pool and the tropical foliage. You'll see why this is perhaps the most popular rental house on Captiva based on rental history.The Mermaid's private, secluded, 26 ft x 14 ft heated and newly resurfaced pool with paver stone deck is just off the double French doors of the living room. The Mermaid Home may be called a cottage, but this cozy house is as well updated and perhaps better equipped than a new luxury home. Included is a 43' Smart HDTV, a 6-disc CD player with a large music selection, Bluetooth connection to our 100-watt Onkyo receiver with Bose inside speakers and outside pool speakers. Wireless Comcast cable Internet is in place. The primary bedroom has a King bed with 32" Smart HDTV and a new master bath with shower. The guest bedroom is twin equipped and has an HDTV with DVD. The living room provides a very comfortable Natuzzi Italian leather queen-size sleeper sofa, The new hallway bath services the guest room and living room guests.The kitchen is new and fully equipped with a New S/S ice-making refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Cuisinart drip coffee maker, Keurig, and all utensils. The adjacent open dining area has a table for 4 and stools at the kitchen bar for 2 more. A Weber gas grill is outside the kitchen and pool area, with a spare propane tank always available for heavy use. New washer and dryer provided in the adjacent laundry room. Included is a handy beach cart with soft sand tires to haul all the beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, beach toys, and beach towels to the beachThe grounds are covered with many varieties of tropical flowering plants (though replanted and recovering from the storm), the beach is a short 2-4 -minute walk and the docks of the bay of the Green Flash Restaurant are even closer. Captiva's charming village center is a 5-minute walk from the house. Personally maintained by the owners, this home is one of the very few Captiva rental houses not managed by a management company. We personally supervise and assist our cleaning staff each Saturday. Captiva Island has weathered the storms and is back to its beautiful self! The first photos were taken on February 2, 2025 and reflect the restoration of our community (Sunset Captiva). Restaurants are open, the beaches are pristine, fishing is great and the wildlife is amazing. Our home is built on stilts and has a backyard full of citrus trees and orchids. Located at located 40 Oster Court, the house a beautiful two-bedroom home with a separate den/office with a bunk bed. It is The house is furnished and equipped as a second home--not a 'rental unit.' All three of the bathrooms are new. Our family loves to cook --the kitchen is a cook's kitchen. We are located on the quiet part of a private community, Sunset Captiva, just a few minutes walk from the pool and beach. We have a small citrus grove behind the house (grapefruit, orange, meyer lemon and key lime trees) and an extensive orchid collection. Several good restaurants are within a two minute walk. The community pool is only a three minute walk away. The beach is just a minute further. There is great boating and fishing. The beach is extraordinary and extends for miles. This is a great vacation home for young families. We have two pak-n-plays, a high chair and baby monitor. We are at the end of a cul de sac- away from the noise on Andy Rosse lane -and the setting is quiet and private. This cute open concept home is great for gathering, relaxing, and making memories. Stroll just a few minutes to the white sugar sand beach, or take the complimentary golf cart to further beach access points and some of the best shelling you've ever experienced, jog for miles in the nature preserve, dine at the few local restaurants (Mainstays, the Boathouse, Over the Waterfront, Mangos at the Pool), or just tour this remote slice of paradise. Return to the house for a BBQ and more relaxation while avoiding the bugs in the screened in porch.This island is only accessible by boat, ferry, or private plane. Once on the island, golf carts, bikes and walking are the modes of transportation. You can park at the ferry and take the short ferry ride over to North Captiva. Grocery shopping is recommended prior to coming to the island. You can pick up groceries on your way, or we do have grocery services that will pick up and stock the house with your groceries prior to your arrival for a fee.If you are familiar with the island, it is on the north end, near the private airstrip. Public beach and bay access is at the end of the each side of the airstrip and this is the safest beach area on the island. You can also access the beach at other areas of the island, using the complimentary 4 person golf cart. Please note, there is no cost to use the golf cart. In the event of mechanical golf cart failure of any kind, it may not be able to be fixed during your stay and no compensation will be provided. Located on North Captiva Island, in Safety Harbor Club, this comfortable home is conveniently located near beaches, pools, and boat docks. The house is nestled among the native palms, and has a private, wildlife-friendly setting you will love. Song birds and gopher tortoises take refuge on the property, and guests enjoy sharing the peaceful sanctuary. Beautiful beaches and refreshing pools are a short walk (5 minutes or less) or a couple minutes away by golf cart (included; see details below*). North Captiva is a bridge-less, car-free island situated in between the coastal barrier islands of Captiva and Cayo Costa. Transportation is provided by scheduled water taxis, private charter, or your own boat. The island has over 5 miles of pristine sandy beaches to explore and the southern portion includes over 350 acres of protected state park land. Golf carts, bicycles, and sandy feet are the typical mode of transportation (shoes are optional). Guests of Gumbo Limbo will be registered with both The Island Club at North Captiva and the Safety Harbor Club and will have use of their amenities including their 3 large pools, tennis & pickle ball courts, private beach access and use of sea kayaks and bicycles. Through special arrangement with the host, a boat dock space can be rented for a daily fee at the Safety Harbor Club wharf (boat registration & insurance info will need to be provided for SHC). With, or without a boat, guests will enjoy fishing, wildlife watching or enjoying sunrises and moonrises from the harbor docks. Welcome to our luxury vacation home, Absentminded. Our beautiful well-appointed home is located in the center of the Village of Captiva with the beach or the bay just a short block away! You will appreciate staying in the Village in that we are walking distance to everything...beach, restaurants, marinas, shopping etc.Captiva Village/post hurricane status.... our house is now perfect including our NEW Pool Cage/Lanai! The Village is slowly returning. The Bailey's General Store, Green Flash, Sunshine Seafood, Starbucks, RC Otters, The Bubble Room, The Cantina, Pizza Shop, Jensen's Marina and the three Tween Water's restaurants are NOW open in Captiva. Key Lime is scheduled for this fall. Sanibel also has over 20 restaurants open so there are options while on the island. We recently upgraded our outside kitchen and pool deck area so grill away! This spacious 3,211 square feet home four bedroom/4.5 bath private home comfortably sleeps 10 (easily handles multiple couples or your extended crew) and is designer finished in island style. The house features four private suites (each with a private bathroom) .... our guests' love our large, heated pool with spa and many great amenities including a built-in gas grill (new upgrade in 2024) on the pool level, a new Ian ping pong table, Jenga, plus many toys and games for children young and old! We are truly in the middle of the island and just steps to...the beach for shelling, sunbathing and swimming... the Bay for watching the sunrise, fishing, boating, and manatee watching... fun restaurants like the famous Bubble Room (in one direction), or to the fabulous Mucky Duck (temporarily closed/at the beach) for romantic sunsets. And, if you can't wait for that first cup of coffee ...Starbucks is a short one block walk away. Captiva Island is only about 600 yards (two blocks) at its widest point, so you are literally steps away from the beach/bay no matter where you are. Once you arrive and park your car, you might not leave the island for the rest of your vacation. Welcome to the Sunshine!!! Welcome to the Islands!Our ground floor entrance is inviting and functional to store all your beach supplies (or those nasty winter coats) while you enjoy the Captiva sunshine. The beach towels are here so quickly grab one and head to the beach which is just a short stroll across the street and down sandy Laika Lane for our amazing world-famous beach, playful dolphins and truly wonderful sunsets. The garage has plenty of beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach toys and beach carts for your short walk to the beach, shopping or our many restaurants. The garage features elevator access (for our guests requiring accessibility), and an extra refrigerator. The ground floor lower level has a half-bath powder room convenient to the entertainment/pool area with a built-in BBQ grill, outdoor dinner table, teak bar, and multiple lounge chairs for lazing around the pool and spa. The large pool deck is a great area to keep the little ones busy or to have and having fun playing in the pool or with board games while adults will find a relaxing peaceful spot to take a mid-afternoon nap before heading to the beach (or Mucky Duck when it opens) for another beautiful sunset. And if the weather turns inclement (reminder we are in the islands!), don't worry there is plenty of the pool deck under cover to entertain your guests! The pool deck also features an outdoor shower and a changing room. This pool deck is an amazing outdoor room...you may never want to leave the house! Our repeat guests have reported the pool area and cage was a key difference maker...good weather or bad. Walking onto the main floor of the house, you're greeted by the Florida sunshine as it streams through plantation shutters into a very open floor plan AND Shelly the Turtle (our guests always ask...nine feet turtle) prominently displayed on the main wall of the cozy Great Room. There is plenty of seating for all of our guests, a 65-inch flat screen LCD TV, DVD player (with plenty of DVDs), XBOX One (so bring your favorite games), cathedral ceilings with a ceiling fan, and a wall of windows with French doors leading out to the pool area with a spiral staircase to the pool deck below. The well-equipped and large kitchen with breakfast nook is inviting for the cook and the take-out crowd alike---did we mention that there are seven restaurants within roughly a block or two? The adjacent dining room has seating for ten guests and double French doors out to yet another screened deck overlooking the pool. The main floor king-size bedroom suite has a full bathroom with step-in shower. The office/den includes a desk (for those extended guests that must conduct some work), a printer, bookcases and extra sleeping space for two with a daybed and trundle. The main level is also equipped with a washer and dryer in its own laundry so pack light!! And yes, the house has Wi-Fi. We know you value your privacy, so we have THREE upper-level bedroom suites!! Walk up a few stairs to this third level and find the first suite, the Black and White Room, with a king-sized bed with a large full bathroom with step-in shower. The second "green" suite features king-sized bed with an attached bathroom with a full-size tub for bathing the little ones. The master suite has a king-size bed, En-suite large bathroom with double vanity sinks, tub to pamper yourself, a separate shower, and a dressing table with a dressing chair. The master suite guests will lounge on the private deck in their "cuddle chairs" overlooking the pool area below. Look to your left to glimpse a view and the beauty of Pine Island Sound!! Sanibel and Captiva were named by Frommer in 2016 as the Number One Destination in the world (yes, even over Paris, Tahiti etc.). In 2023, our Captiva sunset was ranked Number One Sunset. Our beaches are consistently voted as one of the top Florida beaches and is Number One for shelling. WOW! It's likely you won't want to leave the Village, but if you do jump in your car, please enjoy the world famous 7,000-acre Ding Darling Nature Preserve or the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, terrific shopping areas and dozens of other fabulous restaurants on Sanibel. Sanibel has over 20 miles of walking/cycling paths. I know I have mentioned our fabulous sunsets and beaches, but our favorite Captiva memories are heading to the bay early in the morning with our daughters to view the sunrise and enjoy the manatees! This is an amazing house, built in 2002, professionally designed and completely updated in 2016...with new floors in 2020, new kitchen in 2023 and an updated pool area in 2024. Parking around the island is pretty limited so that is a big plus. Just a few doors from us to the south is Captiva Cantina. If you keep heading toward Andy Rosse on Captiva Drive (so back towards Sanibel), at the corner of Captiva Drive and Andy Rosse is the famous Bubble Room. The food is good, and the desserts are even better. We often grab a piece of cake for an evening snack even if we have had dinner at another spot. On Andy Rosse (turning toward the ocean), you will see Key Lime Bistro (closed for hurricane remodeling) and RC Otter. They are great restaurants with outdoor seating and have live entertainment in the afternoons and evenings. Next door to RC Otter's is Sunshine Seafood. The Mucky Duck (under hurricane forced remodeling) is at the end of Andy Rosse on the beach (Captiva's only beach front restaurant). They have a nice outdoor patio, and you can have lunch outside with food service from the bar. They also have more formal dining inside and it is THE location to watch the sunset which is a MUST event in Captiva. Another option is the Green Flash which is a little past Andy Rosse on Captiva Drive. Starbucks is north of us...just down the street. If you want to get in the car, three other options are at Tween Waters, including probably the "nicest" restaurant on Captiva/Santiva (The Old Captiva House). And yes, we have pizza in the Village. Welcome to North Captiva Island! A short, ferry ride separates you from reality, for your tropical paradise vacation. As you approach the island by boat, the troubles and worries of the real world will fade away. Be on the lookout for tranquil manatees and playful dolphins that love to show off their aerial skills. Roughly 25 minutes after leaving the mainland, you will step ashore at one of the two ferry docks on the island. A host from our new property management company will greet you at the dock and escort you, via golf cart, the very short distance to Paradise Palms. There are no paved roads, traffic lights or traffic jams on this island. A North Captiva traffic jam is three golf carts within 50 yards of each other. North Captiva is a barrier island with five miles of beautiful white sand beaches, no crowds, turtles, dolphins and manatees. The majority of the island is State Park which you can enjoy free of charge. This custom, spacious home, built in 2015, is one of the few on the island that has a private pool located on the living level. You won't have to walk downstairs to enjoy the pool or cook on the grill. Simply walk out any of the 3 sliding glass doors from the kitchen, master suite or bedroom. The house has beautiful new furnishings and has been professionally decorated. The kitchen is fully stocked, complete with modern stainless steel appliances and a blender for your frozen drinks. The sky deck has 360 degree views of the Gulf of Mexico, Cayo Costa and Pine Island Sound. North Captiva Island has so much to offer! Sip your coffee as you enjoy inspiring sunrises from the roof deck in one our Adirondack chairs. Walk across the road to the boat docks to search for manatees. Walk any of the five miles of beaches, looking for shells. Charter a boat with one of the many experienced Captains to experience world class fishing. Kayak, paddle-board or swim in the warm shallow waters that surround the island. Load up your golf cart and head to the pristine white sand beaches to spend the day. Walk into the park and find your own stretch of private beach with no one around.
