So we are back better than ever fully remodeled / painted / new furnishings. We also added a HALF Bath in the Master Bed closet for your increased comfort. Relax inside or on the patio w amazing sunsets!Further adding to the unique vibe of this house is the fact that there is no front door… Well there is, but it’s on the back side facing the pond. This house was designed by and built for a psychiatrist in 1972…. with a hangover from the 60’s. She used this place as her office and residence; and she wanted all her patients to experience the relaxing tranquil pond view when entering the office so they had to walk around the back to gain entry. (no worries for you lazy types-- the garage door on the front of the house gets you in directly to the kitchen). With a huge living room facing the pond you can relax inside with AC, or outside in the back yard feeling the breeze lull off the pond. The 2 bedrooms and the couch-bed in living room nook can sleep 6 heartbeats. Master bedroom has a King bed; Second bedroom has a Queen, and the sleeping nook off the living room has a twin /trundle pull out. Kitchen and bath are spacious and still sport the retro chic yellow countertops from the 1970’s. So you will be chillin’ in a vintage classic. Your enclosed garage is a great place to safely store surfboards and bikes.And with a 1 minute walk to the best beach access on Folly this place delivers true island feel. Because at 13th St East Access there is no car parking, just a path through the oaks and palms and vines – so you feel like you could be on the movie set of Blue Lagoon, Swiss Family Robinson, or even Gilligan’s Island…Let your daydreams wander as you come out of the shade and onto the beach. But just be prepared to have them analyzed back at the office…errr Sunset Shack. There are two rooms plus a covered patio and a concrete area for you personal use. You now can grill out and have fresh seafood, steak, etc.. on our brand new gas grill right outside your door. We added a small "Oster" oven one big enough to baked potatoes, pizza, bread, veggies. Also on the grill there is a side burner for eggs and bacon to start your morning off.When you walk into the unit you will find our kitchenette, with your appliances, full refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and our new Oster oven....sink for washing dishes and a large shower.Then you will walk into the bedroom area with a queen size bed, a futon for a 3rd person, a new desk in case you need to touch base with work , a new flat screen 40" TV install on the wall which can be moved for your viewing with 200 channels n free wi/fi provided by Comcast. And you have your half bath area. There are 2 separate doors you can used to enjoy your covered patio to relax, catch up with one another or just sit and watch the 'Folly's" walk by...what a site that is!! lol...Brand new furniture including a love seat, 2 nice chairs, and a glass table.Also we have a table to use to eat, drink, and be merry. (Our Great Dane and his playmate visit in the off season and they love it!).Why this home over others at Folly Beach?: This home was specifically designed for your vacation! The owner chose the lot and house plan with your family in mind. It's on the West side of Folly Beach where there's less traffic and noise, but only 2 1/2 blocks - easy walking distance - to the restaurants, shops, pier, etc., on Center Street. The home is 2nd row with direct access to the beach. We are PET FRIENDLY and have an ELEVATOR (great for easy unpacking and settling in after a long trip - or for any guest not able to climb stairs) and a fenced in back yard. The home is also great for anyone using a wheel chair, with extra wide doors to one master bedroom, bathroom and shower. And , unlike front beach and most 2nd row homes on Folly, this home has wonderful parking. There is room for 3 cars under the home and room for 5 more cars on the driveways. Also unusual for a Folly vacation rental is the fenced in back yard. It's shaded by the house - a great place for everyone to relax out of direct sunlight.Sunbathing with sun burnt friends? You'll love our combination sun deck and covered porch. It's large enough to spread out and get just the right tan. And the trees surrounding it add some nice privacy from nearby homes. For guests who had a little too much sun, the covered part of the deck provides welcome relief. The Tiny Shack With a little engineering and shabby-sheik ingenuity we turned our old office and storage space into Folly Beach’s cutest efficiency unit with all brand new construction, finishes, and décor. Think small and pretty. If you are an NFL lineman and your significant other is a WNBA star this is not the place for you. It is tiny, yes, but has everything you need for the perfect getaway. You have a full size bed to cuddle close and nap after a great beach day. Watch TV on the flat screen, or prep some snacks in the kitchenette. Your bistro table is more like a corner spot at a cozy Manhattan mini bar, and you can shower in luxury in the brand new tile bath with a modern sleek glass shower that feels more like The Ritz Carlton in Fiji than TheRathershacks on Folly. The main room measures 10ft x12ft- not including the 3ft x 5ft kitchenette, 5ft x 6ft bath, and 2ft x 4ft closet. Outside the front door you have your own dedicated covered patio so you can max relax, all under the watchful eyes of a mermaid and her dolphin friends. You have a small semi-private fenced back yard where there is a grill to channel your inner Bobby Flay or Rachel Ray, and an outdoor shower to wash off the sand and sea of the day.
