We stayed at Hotel Royal Chihpen, which is truly a resort-style hotel offering a wide array of activities. A standout feature was the in-room hot spring bath, complete with a beautiful stone tub – absolutely wonderful. The hotel also provides both indoor and outdoor hot spring facilities. The swimming and spa pools were generously sized, which was another great advantage.

It was great that we could use the pool until late at night (probably 8:30pm). There were also two types of baths and saunas!! The staff were all very kind and we were able to communicate well using a translator. One thing to note is to make sure to book the shuttle bus in advance! Next time I'd like to stay in a slightly more expensive private house!!

We had a wonderful stay in the hotel, staff is very friendly and helpful, the pool and view is amazing. Only topic to improve is to let the people eat and drink at the pool bar to enjoy the views as this bar isn’t open and nothing served.

Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience, and overall, I wouldn't consider it worth the cost. The hotel itself is old, and the facilities feel very dated. While it boasts a large swimming pool and spa areas, they were unusable during our stay as they were running with cold water. We didn’t see anyone using them. The “beauty pool,” which was advertised as having heated water, was disappointing due to a strong sewer-like smell. Additionally, the sauna is not complimentary for hotel guests, which felt unreasonable. The dining experience was also underwhelming. The à la carte food in the restaurant was below average in quality, the portions were small, and the prices were high. However, the atmosphere was pleasant, though it felt odd being the only customers at 8 p.m. On a brighter note, the breakfast was excellent. I would rate it four stars for its variety of local and aboriginal food, which was a highlight of the stay. The timing of activities for kids was inconvenient as well. While kids could play pool and ping pong for free in the evening (after we arrived at 7 p.m.), all other activities were scheduled for late morning or early afternoon, after checkout time. The hotel’s location is another drawback. It is far from restaurants and busy areas, making it necessary to have a car or take a taxi. The one positive aspect of our stay was the room. We booked the premium family room/suite, which provided separate sleeping areas for parents and kids—a feature we appreciated. However, this came at a premium price, costing 25% more. I had requested a room with a view, and the front desk clerk was accommodating, which I appreciated. Overall, while the room and breakfast were nice, the rest of the experience didn’t justify the cost or the inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to the facilities and services.

Overall, my stay was quite good. The breakfast was definitely the highlight, offering a fantastic variety of options. The hotel also offered plenty of complimentary activities throughout the day, which are perfect for families with kids. All the staff were incredibly friendly and approachable. The only downside was the mattress in the room; it was uncomfortable and felt quite sloped/sagging.

We were on the 11th floor that provided thrilling rides and views in the elevator. The laundry facility was clean, inexpensive and efficient. There’s an auditorium, very nice for community events. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with many selections of both Asian and Western choices, all of it delicious. The fitness area is very nice and I wish we’d had time to enjoy the spa. The city views were nice and we could almost see the ocean. Robes and slippers were cozy. Would definitely stay again.

The location is in southern Taidung. Consider the fact that Taidung require 2hour driving from north to south, this location make it little difficult to see northern Taidung attractions. But the hot spring in this town is the best. The hot spring in this hotel use genuine underground hot spring water, your skin can feel the difference while enjoying it.

The carpet had frayed edges that weren't maintained, posing a tripping hazard. While I understand that chairs and carpets can be difficult to keep in pristine condition, my second stay here within a year didn't quite live up to the 'wow' factor of my first visit – a real shame. On the positive side, the hotel's location and parking facilities are truly excellent!

The hotel staff are really excellent, everyone is very friendly. They provide a snack bar that can be used for free, which is very thoughtful. If you are too full, there is also a small gym for use. The most praiseworthy thing is the hotel's breakfast! Very worth it! It is the most carefully prepared food I have ever seen. It is not perfunctory at all. The food on the table is full at each time period. It will not be neglected just because the time is running out. It is also vegetarian-friendly. 80% of the food is edible for vegetarians. , really attentive! There was also a passenger breaking a plate during meal time today. The service staff was very friendly and immediately took care of it. They said, ”May you be safe every year.” They did not stress the passenger and also helped maintain the mood of the trip. I think it was not easy. I am very grateful to the hotel staff. .

The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, the outdoor facilities and hot spring area are excellent, and the value for money is great. The breakfast is as rich as lunch, and it is also served with many Taitung-specific ingredients and wild vegetables. I sincerely recommend this hotel to everyone
