Excellent! The price was much cheaper than what you'd pay domestically. The location is decent, though a bit far from the night market and the bustling downtown area. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, with both Western and Chinese sections to choose from, offering enough variety that you wouldn't repeat a dish even if you stayed for three days. The noodles and rice noodles were especially delicious.

Pros: The hotel location is good, making it convenient to walk everywhere. The room was very spacious with a balcony. Booking directly at the front desk is more expensive than booking through an app. Amenities like toothpaste, comb, and shower cap were provided in a pack. Cons: The security is very poor. It's a key card system where any card can open any room. I encountered someone trying to enter my room at 1 AM. I screamed, and the person, startled by opening the wrong room, quickly closed the door. This incident kept me awake all night. Good thing I only stayed for one night.... The hotel is old. If you book as a walk-in, the price doesn't match the room quality. The bathroom had standing water and drained slowly when showering. The towels had a musty smell, as if they were folded before being completely dry.

I initially booked this hotel for 5 nights, but ended up staying for a total of 7 nights. The room is spacious and good for a remote worker. I like that the toilet and shower are separated into two rooms. The staff are so nice and friendly. The swimming pool and the gym on the top floor are great for chilling and working out. Having said that, I would recommend the housekeeping to come in around 12 Noon - 1 PM, instead of the 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM window, because it is much more convenient if they come during lunchtime. Another thing is that the internet inside the room is not good at all, but the lobby area is a good spot.

Duy, Phat Ri, Sara, and Coconut are a few of the names of the brilliant people who make this excellent hotel what it is. Any travel I needed to do, (such as to Luang Prabang), was organised for me very solicitously and effectively. Getting to and from train stations and bus depots was also organised by Duy and Patrick at the front desk. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, those who keep them 'just so' are friendly, timely, thorough and efficient. The pool is always clean as it is regularly cleaned. Breakfast is reliably tasty.Cooked dishes arrive from the kitchen in just a couple of minutes from when they're ordered and plenty of passion fruit, (always quickly replenished) , are to be found on the buffet. I felt safe and cared for the entire time, and could tell that this sense of security and comfort is something also enjoyed by my fellow guests. I'd recommend the Vientiane Garden Boutique Hotel to anyone travelling to Laos; and, especially, first time visitors who'd like the support and local knowledge happily provided by the people working there.
