The biggest problem we live in is that the bedside cannot be charged! ! ! The plug-in line is too short, and it can be charged on the dressing table. It is very inconvenient. Other aspects are ordinary. The room type is equivalent to a domestic express hotel of more than 100 yuan. The location is close to the visitor center pier, but it is about 1.5 kilometers away from the seafood market.

Facilities: The resort is still undergoing expansion, so there were quite a few workers around the property.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness was unsatisfactory; the room wasn't exactly spotless. Many in-room amenities showed significant signs of age.
Environment: The environment has a strong tropical feel and local characteristics, but we encountered a lot of bugs.
Service: There was practically no front desk, so don't expect traditional hotel-style service.
Late checkout until 3 PM (subject to availability): This option was practically non-existent.
Free shuttle service between the resort and the pier (advance booking required): This was very convenient, although the schedule was fixed.
Overall: The value for money wasn't great. I booked this suite for 2500 RMB per night, but the living room wasn't directly connected to the bedroom – you had to exit the suite's main door and re-enter. Plus, the room cards were separate, which was quite inconvenient. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The owner is Cantonese, which made communication very smooth and easy. They also provide multiple shuttle services to and from town daily. Semporna is renowned for its fresh seafood; you can ask the owner to help you bargain for prices, or if you're pressed for time, they can even assist with purchasing it. The resort's chef then expertly prepares your catches, and the taste easily rivals what you'd find at local seafood eateries. Our room was very spacious, clean, and tidy. All in all, it was a truly excellent stay.

My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops.
The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully.
The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy.
Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.From€64

It's been a week since I returned from Semporna, but my heart is still lingering in the palm groves of Pudina Resort! I have to write down my thoughts while they're fresh, to give those who are planning to visit a reference.
First, let's talk about the environment – it's truly unique! It's not like the typical overwater bungalows; instead, it's nestled within a forest of tall palm trees. As the car drove in, we instantly transitioned from the continuous road to a tranquil garden. Our individual cottage was hidden among the trees, offering excellent privacy.
Initially, I was worried that these standalone cottages might be stuffy, have poor sound insulation, or attract insects. But I was pleasantly surprised!
Excellent insulation and soundproofing: The housekeeper mentioned that the entire house is made of integrated steel-plastic material. The roof and wall materials are quite impressive; even with strong sun outside during the day, the room quickly cooled down with the AC on, with no stuffiness at all. It was incredibly quiet at night, with sound insulation exceeding expectations. I only heard the rustling of palm leaves in the wind (not ocean waves!), and even as a light sleeper, I could sleep soundly until morning.
Extremely clean, zero insect disturbance: I must highly praise this point! I'm super afraid of bugs, but both the inside and outside of the cottage were meticulously maintained. The floors were perfectly fine for walking barefoot, the bathroom was dry with no trace of mold, and the screens were securely sealed. In my three-day stay, I genuinely didn't encounter any 'uninvited guests,' which is quite rare for a jungle environment.
The service was thoughtfully subtle. Before check-in, the customer service reached out via WeChat and answered all our questions. What was most reassuring was our housekeeper, Jiayi. From arrival to departure, she was always available on WeChat for anything, and her responses were incredibly prompt, all in Chinese, which was such a relief! She wasn't just professionally polite; she was more like a local friend. She proactively reminded us that ”the lights on the forest path are a bit dim at night, so you might want to bring a flashlight for a walk.” When she saw us sunburnt after sea fishing, she brought us aloe vera gel and quietly had the kitchen send up two extra glasses of iced watermelon juice. These small, thoughtful gestures were truly heartwarming.From€94

This is the only hotel on Pearl Island, and since we visited during the off-season, there were only two people in the entire hotel. After placing the reservation, the hotel emailed us the boat dock, and we called to confirm our itinerary. We asked several people, but they couldn't clearly explain the dock's location. We went to the wrong dock that morning, and immediately asked again, fearing we'd miss the boat pick-up time. We had originally planned to stay at this hotel so we could hike in the nearby National Forest Park, especially from the top of the mountain overlooking Pearl Island. The day before, we contacted the front desk, and they said we'd book the boat the next morning and pay the boat and guide fees separately. The next day, they told us there were no boats to the National Forest Park, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel is certainly nice, with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Starfish and small fish were clearly visible on the seabed below our room. However, snorkeling requires walking to the other end of the hotel, and you need to be careful when descending the steps to the diving area. The water is cool and there are a variety of small fish and starfish. We even saw a sea turtle on the way to dinner. The meals, while free, were mediocre.
Overall, the service is lacking and needs improvement.From€268

Had a really good stay here!!! From the boat transfer from Semporna Jetty to the resort, the staff were very attentive and helpful. Upon arrival at the Water Bungalow, I was welcomed with a welcome drink and a brief introduction and orientation of the facilities and the amenities was given by Jasni. Loved the spacious room and the stay was very comfortable. Sea nomads come by daily and offer coconuts and fresh seafood. If you are willing to buy they will be very happy; if you are not keen, just decline politely and they will leave you alone. Meals here were great, there was a variety of mains, fruits and desserts available. The compound is also very beautiful and the view is breathtaking at every corner. Indeed more expensive, but you are paying for the resort being in one of the best locations. They also provide diving and snorkelling services. The Water Bungalow Housereef is a divers heaven and it has many interesting pelagic animals to see. Truly loved my stay here and I believe I will be back.From€1,044

We stayed here for two nights , location is good, centre place in town, only 5 star hotel in whole area, nice swimming pool. But hotel aircon system is not good enough, we have stayed 28 degrees for whole night due too aircon issue, and next night after hotel fixed the problem , I have asked for additional blanket, front desk staff replied me: “we are full house today, you have to pay RM 200 for this “. I was shocked from her answer, hotel charged me 5 star hotel price , with **** service, front desk staff have not been trained to use proper language for 5 star hotel standard.
In additional, room seen have not been clean properly, with empty hair conditioner, shower gel and no tissues. Toilet was not clean, with spiderwebs and insects. Furthermore there was also spiderwebs stuck in the ceiling. Overall it was moderate, not 5 stars standard.From€121

The room is quite spacious and very clean. Check-in is on the first floor. When you go upstairs to the second floor where the rooms are, you first change into slippers, then walk down a hallway to your room. On the first floor, in the morning, there are self-service options for breakfast like coffee, milk tea, bread, and jam. On the second-floor balcony, there's a sink for washing things and a washing machine. There's also a long open-air balcony where you can dry clothes after a trip to the sea; hangers and racks are provided, which is great. The location isn't too remote either; it's about a 15-minute walk to the pier. Do note that the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, so you'll need to communicate in English. Also, the rooms on the second floor have private bathrooms, but you have to take a somewhat steep staircase, which might not be ideal for guests with children or the elderly. The rooms on the first floor can be a bit noisy, and it seems they all have shared bathrooms.From€29
