This hotel's breakfast is fantastic, with a wide variety of options, and you can also order items. The food was delicious and it was my favorite breakfast restaurant on my European trip. I miss it so much! The hotel was originally a converted 18th- or 19th-century ship ticket and warehouse building. It's full of character and a sense of history. The hotel is about five minutes from the center of town, with a small canal next to it and a large river flowing in front of it. It's perfect for me, who prefers a city-friendly lifestyle without the crowds. I forgot to bring an adapter this time and asked to borrow one from the hotel. They only sell it, not lend it. This was a first for me. However, when it rained, they were happy to lend me an umbrella. In front of the hotel, on the river, there's a Chinese restaurant that looks like a palace on the sea, with exquisite decor.

A very nice hotel in a perfect location. The staff are very friendly. 24-hour check-in is possible, but requires prior notification. The rooms are very small, but exceptionally clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, there's a hotel ventilation system in front of the first-floor balcony that runs 24/7 and is very noisy. A cover to reduce the noise level would be highly desirable.

Excellent hotel! It's just a five-minute walk from the central station. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and provided great service. My room had a wonderful view overlooking the canal and the central station, and the soundproofing was fantastic – with the windows closed, I couldn't hear any street noise at all. The location, the friendliness of the reception staff, and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom were all excellent. However, the mattress was completely saggy. When we reported it to reception, they put a plank under it, but unfortunately, it didn't improve. We won't be coming back here again.

Location is great! with walking distance to Museums and main shopping and dining areas of Amsterdam. Nearest tram is Museumplein, and about 5-10mins walk. Room was small and toilet was quite tight, with basic shampoo and shower gel only, but spending most time outdoor exploring it didn’t matter much. Bed was comfortable and warm for the winter - opened the windows for better ventilation, overall good. They have an elevator, that helps bringing luggages easier to upper floors.

The absolute best part of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was consistently kind, friendly, and extremely helpful throughout my stay! The facility is clean and well-maintained. However, the shared bathrooms are quite inconvenient due to a few missing basic amenities. There are no clothes hooks or shelves in the bathrooms or showers to put your clothes, towel, or toiletries on while taking a shower. Additionally, body soap is available at the bathroom sinks but not inside the shower stalls. Adding a few simple, user-friendly touches—like hooks, shower caddies/shelves, and soap inside the showers—would make a huge difference and vastly improve the overall guest experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Tribe Amsterdam and will cherish the memories! We came as a couple to celebrate our first anniversary, and I had simply mentioned the occasion to the hotel in advance. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find several thoughtful little treats prepared just for us... A gesture that truly touched us and made our stay even more special. ❤️ The room was superb, modern, very comfortable, and above all, impeccably clean. The hotel has a great vibe and makes you feel right at home!! A special mention to the staff as well: everyone was lovely, welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond throughout our stay. It’s precisely this kind of care and kindness that makes all the difference. We simply loved our stay and will not hesitate to return next time we are in Amsterdam. Thank you to the entire Tribe team for helping make our anniversary and our stay so memorable. 🥰 A fantastic place that we wholeheartedly recommend! 🇳🇱✨

Facilities: The facilities are well-maintained. The triple room seems to have been converted from a double room, but it's manageable. Both times I've stayed here, I booked a high-floor triple room, and the view from the window is great. Hygiene: The room was very clean, and they provided towels and bath towels for three people. Environment: The biggest advantage is its location. The subway station is less than 100 meters away, a one-minute walk. There's an elevator under the bridge to take you up, but you need to pay attention to the direction because different entrances lead to different turnstiles inside the station, so try not to go the wrong way. However, even if you go the wrong way, you can still reach the city center, though you might need to transfer. For the airport, make sure you go in the right direction to Zuid to catch the airport express. The hotel is within half an hour of the airport and twenty minutes from Central Station, with other parts of the city even closer. Service: No deposit is required for check-in, and check-out is very quick, which is why I see many Chinese nationals staying here. It's convenient and offers good value for money.

Overall experience was great, one of the late morning check-in male staff was really welcoming and even upgraded me to a higher floor with a fantastic view of the river. But since the checkin is 3pm, when I got back, another burlier guy got us our keys but was way too serious and sombre. It's fine but a smile would go a long way. One tiny irk was the lack of bedroom slippers in a carpeted room. I feel it should be basic. And this is the one time I didn't bring a just-in-case pair and i was caught out. Anyway, location is good, tram connection to the Centraal Station just across the street or a 10min walk.

I was really looking forward to staying here again, after having a wonderful time with my husband when we stayed last November. I booked a canal room was disappointed to get a room with one small window overlooking the canal and an older bathroom that smelt of urine which had to be cleaned with bleach each day. The young female reception staff on the first day did not believe me until she walked into the room and the smell hit her. The young gentleman on the second day was lovely to deal with. On the bright side, the bed was very comfortable and the view of the canal was beautiful. Unfortunately, I now won’t be coming back.

Holiday Inn Express AMSTERDAM - NORTH RIVERSIDE by IHG

8.8/10Very Good247 Reviews
Amsterdam|2.26km from city center
At this hotel, Kennis at the front desk was the only one who was the most warm and polite 👍🏽 He was very kind to my daughter, and for two days in a row, no matter how busy he was, he would immediately stop what he was doing, rush into the staff room, and bring a little gift back for my daughter. There are many hotels here that don’t include free parking, and some are said to include it on travel sites, but after reading the reviews, it turns out there’s actually a parking fee. I’ve already done all my research, and even trip.com clearly says this Holiday Inn includes free parking. At check-in, I was told there would be a charge, but another staff member said it was free. Then at check-out, they suddenly said there would be a charge again, but in the end it was free. It was quite confusing. I also didn’t feel very safe. While I was asleep, it was very noisy outside the room. It sounded like people coming back after drinking, repeatedly pressing our doorbell and trying the handle to open the door. Luckily, I had the door double-locked and had also pushed a chair against it. The hotel explained that they may have pressed the wrong room by mistake and were not trying to get in to steal anything 🤔 Free breakfast at the hotel, but it was absolutely packed! The cutlery was really dirty, and I reckon they couldn’t get it washed in time. Also, they didn’t check any guest details at all, so it felt like people from the street next door could just walk in and eat without anyone noticing. There are food markets and budget supermarkets next to the hotel. A free ferry to and from the city centre is about a 10-minute walk away, with frequent services and a journey time of around 2 minutes.的
