Changbaishan Club Med is perfect for beginners to get into skiing, and it's especially family-friendly for those with kids. They have a separate ski house at the ski resort. While ski rentals are pricier than at the neighboring Hwamei, it's impeccably clean and less crowded. The Mini Club is a lifesaver for parents; drop your kids off and just wait to pick up a little one who's passionate about skiing! However, beginner classes can get quite full. I'd suggest the hotel consider increasing the coach-to-student ratio for beginner classes to attract more families looking to try skiing for the first time. (Helmets, ski boots, and skis are all available for rent. Remember to bring your own goggles and face masks, etc., though you can also buy them at the ski house for a higher price.)
I have to say, the all-inclusive package in this area is absolutely worth it. Honestly, there aren't many dining options around, so having all three meals at the hotel is super convenient if you want to ski without interruption. The food selection is also quite diverse, and kids definitely won't get bored of it. For families skiing with children, don't even bother looking at other hotels in the area. If budget isn't a concern, blindly choose Club Med; you'll love it more and more with each stay.
Also, a big thank you to Crystal and every warm and attentive staff member. This hotel probably sets the service standard for the vicinity (though it might not sound great to say, I still want to mention that service awareness in Changbaishan could use improvement; I had a frustrating experience at the Hwamei resort's ski house in between). All in all, sticking to Club Med is definitely the way to go.

As a loyal Club Med fan, I stayed for a full 6 nights this time (not a single main course was repeated for lunch or dinner!). The transportation to Club Med Changbaishan is incredibly convenient; it's a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. We even mailed our snowboards to the hotel in advance, and they were delivered directly to our room after check-in. The G.O.s are enthusiastic, friendly, and multi-talented – this is the liveliest Club Med I've ever stayed at! My child insisted on watching the evening shows every day. This was my first time celebrating Chinese New Year here, and the special activities during the holiday were incredibly rich and diverse. Janly is a charismatic village chief who can even turn introverts into extroverts. The Changbaishan slopes are very beginner-friendly for snowboarding, and there were fewer people in the snowboarding classes, making the all-inclusive package excellent value for money. A big thank you to G.O. snowboard instructor Kim Su, who patiently and meticulously taught my child. In just a few days, my child graduated from Rider 2 to Rider 3, and Kim Su even took the time to let my child enjoy riding all the slopes and snowboard parks in Changbaishan – it was awesome! The hotel's hot springs are also fantastic. We ate well and played well! I highly recommend experiencing this during the Chinese New Year snow season! Every moment, I kept thinking what an incredibly worthwhile trip this was!
