It was a little far from the center, so I could see the city of Gero! There were not many customers, and I was able to take a comfortable bath in the large communal bath, whether there were 3 or 4 people. The large communal bath was very clean and comfortable. It was also good to use a taxi for free between the hotel and Gero station.

I had a fantastic stay at kissenkan! Staffs are very friendly and attentive, rooms are nice and warm, and the food is amazing! I had a great sleep after the onsen, I would definitely return if I have a chance to stop by Gero again in the future!

In fact, it is actually the other hall of Yating. There are 8 rooms in total, each with a private soup pool. When checkingin, there is an exclusive butler to guide all the way. 2.7 points are absolutely not allowed. Dinner is also very good.

This is my second stay in Gero. The first time I stayed at Yunoshimakan, which is the most popular in the country, I noticed this hotel on the opposite mountain when I checked in. I feel that the location is better than Yunoshimakan, but this hotel is domestic I can’t find any reviews on major domestic software, and the price is higher. This time I booked it completely with a try, but the feeling after check-in really did not disappoint me: First of all, let’s talk about the location: the hotel is on the upper reaches of the Gero River. On the hillside of the west bank, a bird's eye view of Gero is completely unobstructed. If you want to go to Gero Onsen Street or the station, you can ask the hotel attendant to drive there at any time and make an appointment to return to the hotel in advance. The driver will wait at the station on time, and these are free. Second, the hotel’s service is still very good, but the disadvantage is that English is not good. There is only one girl who is Indian and can speak simple English. The other waiters can only communicate in Japanese. The hotel has no waiters who can speak Chinese. There is a slight obstacle to communication. This is also the different positioning of the hotel and the Yunoshima Pavilion. The Yuzhidao Pavilion is full of the voices of Chinese and Taiwanese. It is basically a quiet and quiet Japanese. Regarding the sanitation of the hotel, this may be the most I have seen. It’s a good hotel. I changed my shoes when I entered the hotel. The floor was spotless. Even the carpet in the living room of the room had no signs of being used. The toilet had no peculiar smell. The decoration looked very new. The guest room was very large and looked about 70 square meters. , Each guest room has a living room, dressing room, toilet, bathroom, and bar. The living comfort is extremely high. Thirdly, I saw the layout of the hotel. The hotel has 10 floors. The third floor is a hot spring. Both men and women have indoors. Outdoor hot spring, the guest rooms are from the fourth floor to the tenth floor. There are only 3 rooms on each floor. I booked a private bath. It was on the fourth floor. After observation, there was no private bath on the 5th-10th floors. The spring water of the Lou private hot spring and the water source of the public hot spring on the 3rd floor come from different mountains, so there is a little difference in smell. Personally I feel that I should book a private soup, because the waiter said that the public hot spring is not open in the morning, which means that I can’t enjoy it on the morning of check-out, and the private soup is still OK. In terms of meals, because we chose to eat out, we only booked breakfast. Each hot spring hotel tastes the same, and the price is not necessary. Finally, I found on major travel software that some of the hotel’s names were Songyue and some were Zhangyue, but in fact, this hotel only has a Japanese name, which translates to a string of Japanese words called Tonight Starry Sky or something. In short, it is worth recommending and worth coming again.

Arrived at the location with superb warm hospitality. You felt the Japanese welcome once you arrived at the location from checking in/luggage sent to your room dircetly. The onsen/hotel located at Gero, hillside and you able to see the panoramic views of the Hida mountains and hot-spring town from your room.Dinner and breakfast is served at the site and serviced by local staff, Hinata was our serviced staff, she explained very well in english and guided us through the both meals. Delicious meal as well, not forgotten to mention (Japanese style meals using local ingredients with award winning rice as well). Public bath onsen is the place to go to relax at the site, definitely a good relaxtion place for family/couple/group. We booked the Japanese style room and had a good rest. Although the price per night is not consider cheap, but we strongly recommend to have a stay if you have a night to spend while transit through the town, you don have to worry the dinner and breakfast part as the hotel had provided with price charged. Thanks again to the staff and hospitalilty, we had a great stay.

Gero Onsen is located in one of Japan's three most famous hot springs and is famous for its high-quality hot spring water and beautiful natural environment. I had a great experience staying at a traditional ryokan in Gero Onsen. First of all, the hotel's architectural style combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comfort facilities, making people feel a strong Japanese style as soon as they step in. The service staff at the hotel were very warm and friendly. They provided me with attentive service in fluent Japanese and some English, making me feel at home. Next is the hot spring experience. The water of Gero Hot Spring is clear and rich in minerals, which has a good nourishing effect on the skin. I particularly like bathing in the open-air hot springs, especially at night. While enjoying the warm spring water and looking up at the stars, the feeling of tranquility and relaxation is indescribable. Dinner is another highlight. The kaiseki cuisine provided by the hotel is exquisite and delicious. Each dish is a work of art. It is not only delicious in color, aroma and taste, but also has fresh ingredients, which fully demonstrates the charm of Japanese cuisine. Overall, my stay at Gero Onsen was very good. I was deeply impressed by the hot springs, service and food. It was an unforgettable travel experience.

Lovely onsen ryokan. Staff don’t really speak English so there’s a bit of trying to figure things out for yourself.  Nevertheless, service was friendly and helpful as best they could.  The outdoor onsen is really relaxing and because it’s not a crowded hotel, both times I went I had it to myself as did my wife and kids in the ladies area.  We picked the room with its own outdoor onsen tub which is a great option if you don’t want to use the non-private ones.  You can apparently book private onsens but they did not have any available for us (possibly because we arrived slightly late in the day).  Food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.  Kids couldn’t;’quite enjoy the onsens cause they found the water too hot so you may want to make sure your kids can before you decided to splurge.  One final point, the ryokan is located down a tiny road on the right just before Google Maps tells you that you have reached.

The room is very satisfactory. It is very Japanese style. The housekeepers are like family. They are very friendly. The hotel has private baths, open-air baths and large baths. Since the hotel is very private, you will hardly see other people even in the large bath. It is very comfortable. The breakfast provided is also very rich and very nice.

This might be the highest hot spring hotel in Gero. If you miss the shuttle, it's quite a walk uphill. The hotel is divided into the old wing and the new wing. The old wing has a lot of mosquitoes and poor soundproofing, while the new wing, though newer, lacks some of the old wing's charm. We stayed in the new wing with a private hot spring, but it was extremely small; the photos on Trip.com can be misleading.

Beautiful traditional Property! The property had plenty of onsen baths available and also has a private Bath you could book for ¥3300. There is also a swimming pool with the bathwater. The hotel is very child friendly and has an arcade with games and claw machines. Recommend to bring cash so you can play the games in the arcade to entertain the kids. The property is very convenient within a three minute walking distance from the train station. There is also a free shuttle bus that will pick up / drop off passengers from the train station once you get out of Gero train station it is directly there it takes less than 1 minute to drive to the property very convenient if we have a lot of luggage.

Impression: Ogawaya was one of the three day-trip options I considered for my Gero trip last summer, and it left a great impression then. So, when planning this winter trip, I really wanted to stay here for a night. Since I booked late, I was lucky to even snag a room. Service: The front desk had a Chinese-speaking staff member who was, hands down, the loveliest Chinese-speaking person I encountered on any of my trips. Unlike some uncomfortable experiences I had at Dormy Inn Kumamoto and with the Nohi bus today, this young lady was genuinely warm and friendly. Facilities: During my day trip last summer, I only got to use the women's bath that was open in the afternoon. It was very clean and had a silk bath. This time, I tried the other bath in the morning, but I still feel that Sagi-no-yu has a more unique charm. Also, on the first floor of the scenic view building where I stayed, there's a 'Can Onsen' (sparkling onsen) which is open to women from afternoon to evening. It features a highly concentrated carbonated hot spring. Although it's artificial, it's definitely worth trying. The lobby has a self-service drink bar, and after a hot spring bath, enjoying a cold orange juice while watching the river flow by outside the window is incredibly relaxing. Drawbacks: The only downside was the noise from my next-door neighbors. I don't know who they were, but this is the only Japanese hotel I've stayed in where I've experienced such loud noise. Despite having two layers of doors, I was disturbed both in the evening and in the morning. Highlights: A great bonus is that the hotel's refrigerator has a freezer compartment – a freezer compartment! Perfect for storing ice cream!

Visited one of Japan's top three hot spring towns and booked a traditional Japanese-style room at a century-old hotel, which included two meals. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the train station, which was incredibly convenient. Check-in was a breeze thanks to the friendly staff at the front desk who spoke Chinese. The room was exceptionally spacious with stunning views from the window – perfect for two people. The hot springs themselves, both indoor and outdoor, were wonderful. Gero Onsen truly lived up to its reputation; my skin felt incredibly smooth after a soak. Free cold drinks were available post-soak, and the milk from the vending machine was particularly delicious! The meals provided by the hotel were also plentiful and tasty. The entire hotel had a very authentic Japanese ambiance. Although we only stayed for one night, we're already looking forward to a longer visit in the future! Highly recommended to everyone.

It was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby. For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heart’s content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.

Five women in their 20s stayed for one night. It was very clean and the buffet was delicious. Karaoke is available for 1 hour and table tennis for 30 minutes; you need to fill out your name and make a reservation. The free parking was a great help. However, the road leading to the parking lot and hotel is very uphill, so walking from the station would be tough. Walking to the Gero Pudding shop would also be quite strenuous. When we wanted to go to the Gero Pudding shop, we parked in a nearby paid parking lot and walked. There were many types of yukata available, with different designs categorized by height.

It is very close to the JR Takayama Line station. You can put your luggage there before visiting the town of Shimoro. It is a pure Japanese-style hotel with a 24-hour hot spring, which is comfortable. The uncle at the front desk speaks very good Chinese and is enthusiastic. He explains things clearly. The breakfast is Japanese, so you can experience the Japanese lifestyle.

One of our best stays during my time in Japan! The staff were very friendly. She shared with us where we should go for onsen, dinner and places to visit. Breakfast was simple but very hearty. We are touched that they considered our food restrictions and adjusted accordingly. Very thoughtful! We could also use the yucata and jacket to walk around town. Love this experience very much! The onsen is also lovely. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again. P.s they don't have yamato service if you need to deliver your baggage.
