I enjoyed my trip of two days to Devonport. The staff were extremely good and polite. I ate at the restaurant and the food was good, but on the second night I waited over an hour for the special to be brought out and then ad to return it to the kitchen to be reheated as the meal was cold and obviously had been standing somewhere waiting for table deliver. The poor staff were very busy and embarrassed. At least 8 other people in the dining room were kept waiting for their cold meals.
Apart from that…..well done.
Always love a place with a small fridge of gifts. Sorrybthe chocloate was already gone … it was a Kit Kat …. And the plastic bottle was ours, but beer and other gifts is always appreciated for a day one of your holiday in Tassie.
The price was awesome, only $180 for a 4 adult room even though only 2 of us stayed, even $90 ea is good on our budget, but $45 if it was 4 would be amazing, so bring more friends next time is ideal. Nice scenery of a flat old town not spoilt by skyscrapers and nice mountains in the background, a preview of things to come I expect.
The room is very distinctive and it is recommended to experience it. The environment is very good, there is its own parking lot, and the fruit trees next to the parking lot have plums, peaches, pear and apples. The location is very good, close to the city center, about 20 minutes walk to the big supermarket and McDonald's. The service is very good, the breakfast is amazing,
Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Easy to find and very pleasant check in. Would definitely stay here again. Location is excellent in a safe and very quiet neighbourhood.
Formby Hotel provides a decent stay with a convenient location. However, it would be nice if they offered a buffet-style breakfast. The rooms could also be a bit cleaner with a fresher scent. Additionally, there were no staff present during my stay, which was a bit inconvenient. If the price were a little lower, it would be perfect.

In the motel, you can park at the door of your room. The location of the hotel is easier to find. Locate a small bar, enter and ask to check in. It’s good if you want to drink two glasses. The room was clean and tidy, the curtains were blinds, and the sun came out quite light. The motel is generally soundproofed, and it can be a bit noisy to hear other guests' cars driving close in the middle of the night. Most importantly, the price is cheap.
Incredible room, everything was perfect. We’ve stayed in many places over the past 42 years all over Australia , & this would come very close to the best we’ve stayed in . I would recommend it to anyone !
