We were first given a room with a view on the bar and swimming pool, just next to the second floor open terrace which was awful in terms of privacy. Fortunately we were changed to a room on the far East of the old building and the view as fantastic.. the room was old but well maintained. The problem was the terrace door was not sound proof and we learnt at night how bothersome it would be. Because you see, our room was just above the restaurant that gives directly to the sea where waves crash on the rocks. Impossible to have a quiet night. Light sleepers better choose a room in the swimming pool area. Food was ok. Service as everywhere in SriLanka was slow and not very responsive. You had to ask twice for hot water or something. We expected more for a 5 stars. We tried the restaurant next to the spa on our last night and service was great there. The pizza at the pizza restaurant next to the pool was very good. Location of the hotel was great, a 5 min by tuktuk to the castle. Unfortunately, everything was almost perfect until the day we left. We realized the hotel has a monopoly on all the taxi and tuktuk that come and leave the hotel. As I couldn't book a car on Uber or kangaroo cab, we just asked a driver who just dropped a group of people if we could hire him and he was ok but the hotel staff interrupted us and sent him away because they asked us to choose from their drivers which was completely absurd. We insisted on using this driver so they entered in a negotiation with the driver to get a cut on the fees. Apparently these are common practices in 5 star hotels. A total mafia style management. Outrageous. And in the hotel room, you have a biography of the founder that highlight his ambition to highlight Sri Lankan hospitality. I encourage him to take a look in the mirror. For that I would not recommend this place, especially during winter vacation when prices are half a grand for 2 nights!

The stay in the hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hotel layout is just beautiful with the open architecture and view of the Galle fortress. The rooms we had were very spacious even for suites. Lovely bathroom, living area, garden, lots of places to rest. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The hotel is a short distance from the fort so you can walk there and enjoy it while being away from the business. The beds were comfortable and you only hear the ocean, not the street noise. I would give 6 stars if possible.

Our room was conveniently located right by the pool entrance, making swimming incredibly easy! It faced the ocean, but the waves were too rough for swimming, so we could only enjoy walks along the beach. As it was the weekend, the hotel had children's activities and evening shows. The buffet was very generous, and the desserts were delicious. A big thank you to Jayaru who checked us in; they discovered it was my birthday the next day and surprised me with a birthday cake at breakfast.

Very bad attitude! The water and electricity were cut off for two hours, and no one dealt with it. I complained to Ctrip, but they replied that it was a power outage in the entire area. How did other guests stay there? Not sincere at all! In addition, there were three rooms that were not in the hotel, but 200 meters away from the hotel. There was no mention or reminder on the booking interface. Ctrip was also at fault. Who would stay in a place 200 meters away with no service? This is a hotel, not Airbnb.

I really like this one. The mansion of the legendary Dutch navy general has only a dozen rooms. There is no noisy feeling in other hotels and it is very quiet. They are all flat, with a large courtyard in the middle, which is very comfortable. Each room is extremely large and decorated with a sense of history. The beds are oversized and estimated to be 2.2 meters. The dining was good and the waiters were polite. I just met them for Chinese New Year, and in the evening I greeted everyone to go to the yard to set off fireworks.

Charming hotel in the heart of Galle Fort. All the staff are very polite and attentive, always with a big smile on their faces. A boutique hotel in a colonial style. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Modern bathroom with shower. The courtyard makes you feel completely relaxed and peaceful. It is definitely a hotel to recommend and would love to stay with again. The value for money is excellent. The whole area maintains a colonial atmosphere, with countless restaurants and souvenir shops. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The house is very high-class and simple, and the natural ecological environment makes people feel comfortable. Just prepare the anti-mosquito liquid and close the door easily. The overall design of the house designed by the landlord is artistic and the details are attentive, clean and refreshing, especially the open open-air bathroom is impressive! After six days of fatigue, I took a super refreshing bath, refreshing! The landlord patiently and meticulously asked each of us about our breakfast preferences, and enjoyed a very rich and delicious breakfast by the blue swimming pool and the monkey swinging tree! Due to the rainy weather down south I changed my plans to go to Tangalle and stay a couple of extra days at Fort Bazaar and enjoyed the spa and walking around Galle. The alley is very deep, the hotel has a TukTuk car, otherwise you can't get out; the ecology is very good, you can see monkeys, squirrels, four-legged snakes when you open the door, there will be geckos in the room after rain, haha; the room is an open-air bathroom and toilet, I was worried about washing half of the monkeys and jumping off. Haha; Looking up is the stars and fireflies; meals and prices, during the Chinese New Year, are reasonable; but, the platform is said to be a twin room, and after the hotel is repeatedly confirmed, it is still a big bed; forget it, just one night, an extra bed is equivalent to more than 100 yuan; The reply was also very fast. The two people came in with a solid wooden single bed. The mattress and bedding were worthy of the price and quite comfortable. When the bride came to take wedding photos, it was indeed possible to take a picture here.

This is the best hotel in all Sri Lanka!!! Kitchen, service, privacy, location - all on the height! In the hotel only 30 rooms, people are not, even with full load, you are as if you are alone! Pleasant uncrowded beaches with a pleasant ocean. You can walk on the shore on duty. The hotel feeds on the menu, each dish is an art piece. Butler is doing whatever you wish. Take the hotel for breakfast and didn't regret, dinner paid themselves, they are more expensive than in restaurants on the street, but such a kitchen you won't find anywhere else! A chic wine card! Rooms are comfortable, we had a room with a pool. The day before leaving the hotel made us a bunch of gifts and we were very happy! We definitely will return to this hotel and not once!
