Firstly upon arrival staff friendly with a smile , did not get a name of the lady on reception ( sorry) but was welcoming and so polite towards my daughter and myself. I arrived earlier than check in , was offered luggage storage given a ticket and kept until arrived back to check in at 15:00. Had to pay a £2.40 room tax which I did not think was bad . The room was brilliant for us my only fault which couldn’t be helped was the room faced a car park which was noisy until midnight and home bargains which of course it was delivery day so early rise 05:30 for me as light sleeper. But overall can not fault the hotel . Will stay again. Easy access to Liverpool town centre 5 minute walk across road , and Liverpool central train station literally up the road.

Firstly the bad points- *The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked, *The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018. *tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms. *There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it. I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3. Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us The upsides were- *Staff were pleasant, *breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for, *hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe. * . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.

Brilliant central location. Really friendly reception staff. The room was spacious and well appointed. The additional microwave with dishwasher and fridge freezer were really useful. Nice hot shower, bit on the small side. I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment. The gym was more than adequate. Short walk to the docks or in to the city centre. Will definitely stay again.

We booked Standard room and very nice. It was spacious, newly renovated and bathroom was large. The reception is inside a bar and had hard time to see from outside. Maybe can improve to add some direction from outside. Overall, room was good. I got about 99 euros for saturday night. Price might change depending on date.

Great stay as always. Perfect location for events at the M&S arena and close to the city centre. We had an accessible wetroom, which was ideal for what we needed, it had a lowered bed and more space around the bed for wheelchair access. The wet room was also spacious with a wall seat for the shower and several hand rails. To exit the room there is a button for disabled access...this takes a little getting used to if u aren't stood in the right place then the door stops and starts to close again once you figure out how far or close to be it seems pretty happy. The staff are really friendly and go above and beyond. Will keep coming back.

The room is spacious and has all the comforts, a comfortable bed, and plenty of wardrobes and shelves to put your belongings. The room is very clean and we slept very well. The kitchen is small but has everything needed, and there's a desk that opens up into a table for dining. The bathroom and shower are spacious, and there's also space here to put your things. The staff are kind and helpful. I would return to this property.

I really enjoyed my 3-night stay here - the breakfast was excellent with a good mix of English Breakfast, pastries, fruit and beverages. The room was big and quiet, I could even see Anfield Stadium from my window. The staff were very friendly too (shout-out to Bridget!) and loaned me an umbrella on a rainy day. There is also a nice work area on the first floor and even a pod if you need to take Zoom calls. A small drawback is that the hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from Euston Station and the Liverpool City Centre but it honestly wasn't too far once I got used to it.
