This resort catered for local thai people, all writings are in thai including the resort name
Bfast also all thai local breakfast.
Resort stay prices is also for local thai. Not expensive.
Only thing to complain is the toilet.
The shower is in a fix position. So when on the water, sprayed all over including the area outside of the water catchment area.
Which is dangerous ( slippery ) for seniors like me.
The manager in charge should looks into this matter.

Good location if you don't want to take a night ferry, helpful staff. The bed is rather hard, good thing I was prepared and had my own shampoo etc, the toiletries the hotel provides are too basic. I'm quite sensitive to noise, the room was good, no sounds.
Bust station just in about 4 blocks from the hotel, you can buy a transfer ticket bus+ ferry to an island (Pangan or Samui).there's also Harmonic restaurant near the bus (coach) station, quite good.From€16

CBD2 was very good overall, the room was clean spacious and had a great view of the river and city. Stuff for excellent they carried our bags up to our room and answered any questions we had. This hotel was perfect for us because we had a car so it was a short, five minute drive across the river into the middle of the city where the markets and restaurants were. Price was good so I would recommend this hotel.From€13

The hotel was clean and the bed was just right not too firm and not too soft, making it comfortable for a good night’s sleep. I booked a room for three people and the price was reasonable. The room was spacious with large beds, and the housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything clean.
I stayed for a total of three nights and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located in a quiet area, which might feel a bit far from shopping malls and some places I needed to visit but it also made the stay more peaceful.
Check-in is strictly at 2:00 PM and there is a 300 THB cash deposit required for the key card. Overall, it was a good stay and worth the price.From€18

I spent my last 8 nights in Thailand in the Regent Hotel as I just wanted to chillax after 2 months travelling! I loved my time there. The staff are extremely helpful and Google translate is great for communication. My room was HUGE! The Air Con was excellent (Rm304)! The bathroom had a wall separating the toilet from the shower and that was great! The electric shower was perfect. The cleaning staff work hard. The gardener is constantly on the go and keeps the outside area spotlessly clean. Well done to him. The wardrobe space was super and storeage was great also. My only complaint (and that’s for every hotel room in Thailand) is the lack of double glazing to keep out the noise from the main rosd traffic. Otherwise everything was great in the hotel Thank you.From€10

Nice hotel in a heart of the town. Clean and comfy. Bed is huge. Breakfast is tasty. There are some complimentary drinks (water,tea,coffee, juice) and biscuits available at the reception desk all day.
You can buy some noodles and beer at the reception if you don't want to take 400m walk to nearest 7/11.

All together it is a friendly place. What you can see: it's not very new and some of the matresses a quiet hard. View is not great, but it's close to the night Market in close to all kinds of Shops. Also to come to the river is very close by and it is very nice to go there in the evening. Also woman you can even participate in some public gymnastics near the River. Stayed at a room without AC.
Sleeping only with a fan on the ceiling was kinda tough in high humidity and temperature in the rainy season.

A Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast
The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated.
That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us.
The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast.
The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani.
In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again.From€20
