A nice, luxurious end to my first time in Sri Lanka. Room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the Lotus Tower, and service is extremely attentive. Breakfast was extremely diverse, and a server was eager to make local Sri Lankan recommendations which I really appreciated. However, the layout of the place is a little difficult, so be prepared to use a few different elevators to get around

Words can’t express how grateful I am to the team at Shangri La Colombo. I was travelling with my grandma who is 91 years old so I wanted to book our stay at a place that I could count on . I have experienced the hospitality of Shangri-La at other parts of the world and I was hopeful that it would be the same. They did not disappoint. Right from Masood at the door to Dileka at breakfast and Waruna at the Concierge , our every need was met, and then some! It’s fully accessible if you have reduced mobility , and everyone who works there is constantly thinking ahead, so that you feel comfortable.
The location is beautiful, the food is amazing and the hospitality is truly exceptional. I’m very grateful to the entire team for ensuring we had a memorable holiday.

This is the worst Shangri-La I have ever stayed in. The various room types are confusing. It is very unfriendly to guests who want to extend their stay. You cannot check in directly at the front desk. You must book online. Even if you book the same room type and price online, you will be forced to cancel and pay the cancellation fee before you can check in.

Our first stay at this hotel and it was delightful. Quick and friendly check in, we were generously upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was very spacious with a seperate living room. It has a fully functional kitchen, with dishwasher and a washing machine for clothing. Balcony and well appointed room with coffee machine. The breakfast which was included in our room rate was delicious and had a broad range of options. We chose this hotel over the Shangri-La and were very happy with the choice and the hotel is much newer and therefore at the moment, in better condition. Swimming pool is large and receives lots of sunshine. I would stay here again.

Fabulous hotel. Rooftop was amazing with swimming pool and bars, ordered veda Pork super delicious. Very good size of rooms and beds. Only regret is we didn't have time to stay longer.super view of ocean. Can't wait till to come back..

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean and stylish. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

This was my second stay at Cinnamon Grand. My first experience was excellent. This time, I checked in late, and since the rooms in the usual section were full, I was assigned a room on the other side. The facilities there felt noticeably older, the hairdryer was broken, and the bathroom was smaller than in the other section. Furthermore, the cleanliness was poor – there were clumps of hair and a dead cockroach, and no slippers were provided. It felt like the two sections of the hotel had different standards for room upkeep. Since it was late when I checked in and I was only staying for two nights, I decided not to ask the hotel to change my room. If you're staying here, I recommend choosing a room accessed via the front desk entrance, rather than the one next to the pastry shop. I hope the hotel can improve the standards of these rooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. During check-in, there was a system issue, and I was initially assigned two double rooms. The staff member then had to check four different rooms to find a correct single room for me. I really appreciate their effort.
The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the beach. However, it's quite a distance from the artificial harbor and the shopping mall, so it's best to take a tuk-tuk.SOLD OUT

Located at the most central avenue of Colombo has very nice view to the Indian Ocean, particularly from the rooftop garden and swimming pool, which probably is the largest in Asia. I was in this garden in 2018 and now is like a roof forest. The gym is well equipped and with panoramic view. The hotel is at the top of the mall, the dream of my wife. Every hour there was a shuttle to a tropical beach just outside Colombo. We did also the complementary half day tour to the city that was well organized. Excellent service and comfort.From€74

First of all, the breakfast was very good. There were all kinds of local food that I have never seen before.
Secondly, the male checkin receptionist wearing glasses was very friendly! He tried to introduce many local spots and helped handle the noise issue caused by the people next to my room. However, the female receptionist was not really helpful and quite stubborn. That male staff said I could enjoy an extended checkout due to my midnight flight during checkin, but the female receptionist said no to me later. After I explained what that male staff promised to me, she only gave me a two-hour extended checkout.
The point is what all the staff say to guests should be consistent.From€81

This hotel is centrally located near all the attractions. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious. The staff is very attentive and helped me with anything I needed. Breakfast is very good. It has delicious dishes. The shuttle service is great for exploring the city or going to the best beaches. The only negative aspect is that my flight was delayed for a long time and I had to check in the next day. I missed my first day, including breakfast, however, the hotel did not compensate me with anything. They never said anything about it. Other hotels at least compensate with something. Do not expect anything from the hotel if your flight is delayed. I still recommend this hotel if you travel to Colombo, Sri Lanka.From€46

We absolutely loved our stay here, we had a free upgrade to one of the newer rooms on check in the service is fantastic in all areas of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is excellent with so many options, dinner in Mambos is a must to enjoy good food, the live music and dancing. And our personal favourite was the Traveler’s bar, the staff are extremely attentive and the views and atmosphere are spectacular.From€68

The only thing that I liked about this place was their view from the breakfast hall. Other than that would not suggest the place at all. The service is poor and the staff is rude as well. We booked our Sea View room from 9/11/25 and checking out on 11/11/25. We arrived at the hotel on early morning of 10/11/25 and we were supposed to get a sea view room. Instead they allotted us a city view and room and when we had almost spent the day and complained about 5-6 times during the whole day, then they were giving us the room with a sea view on late evening on 10/11/25. So staff did behave unprofessional during all this time. Would not recommend.From€47
