Very comfortable and very clean, this hotel was newly renovated in 2021 The facilities are complete, the sanitation is very clean, and the environment is very convenient in the city center. The only thing is that the breakfast is not self-service, you need to order it yourself downstairs

A very good hotel. The place is large and spacious. The food in the restaurant downstairs is delicious. There is a free shuttle bus that can take you to nearby places. The environment is peaceful and it is highly recommended.

I love this hotel. Our room was super clean and spacious, there is a great swimming pool and fire pit, the free breakfast includes sausage, bacon, waffles, cheddar biscuits, eggs, hot oatmeal, etc. But the icing on the cake is the amazing team led by Matthew. Jonathan, Marsha, Stephanie, Geovanni, Lisa, and Jordan treated us like royalty - totally pampering our new puppy and his older (but still puppy) brother. They took the greatest care of us and I feel like they are family after our wonderful stay. Their hospitality, warmth, compassion, and professionalism really makes a huge difference. I would never stay anywhere else when traveling in the Rochester area - a tribute to their excellence and Matthew’s leadership. :)

The Staff at the hotel are the most helpful and understanding. They made my stay extremely comfortable. They are highly responsive and always answer your questions with a smile ! I would especially like to thank Holden, Stephanie and Mathew for making my stay memorable. The hotel is also very clean with rooms that are equipped well with all the necessary things. I would rate my stay here as one of the best hotel experience in the US

The Hilton Garden Inn is located within the Rochester University campus and only 5 minutes away from the wonderful and historic Mount Hope Cemetery. The hotel has a nicely decorated and welcoming lobby, with a restaurant on site that serves breakfast in the morning (my visit included the breakfast plan since I do not like going to look for breakfast in the morning). There were two comfortable double beds and a nice large bathroom in the room. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fluffy. The breakfast off the menu was good. I did not use the buffet but it did not appear to have a large variety. The hotel is a good jump off point to explore the Erie Canal, the fall colours of the Finger Lake District or just to walk along the Genesee River waterfront trail (which is lovely for walking and riding). So now for my issue with the housekeeping policy (not the housekeepers I would like to add). And yes, I am going to get political here! We were told upon arrival that because of Covid the rooms would be cleaned on the fifth day of stay or if we request it by calling before 8am the day we wanted to have the room cleaned. OK, policy understood! Some people can go for days without needing the room cleaned, I am not one of those people. One of the things I like most about staying in hotels is having daily housekeeping and arriving back in the room with the bed made and fresh towels if I leave them in the bath tub (which I do not do everyday). So twice we called, before 8 am to make the appointment. The phone rang for a long time, eventually we spoke to the front desk and the person took the room number and confirmed the request. Twice the room housekeepers never came and the room was never cleaned. What the hotel and the Hilton chain, as a whole, will not freely admit is that they have turned housekeeping into a ”gig” economy. The housekeepers are suppose to wait each day for a call. If they get a call, they work, if they not, no work. No work, no pay. So, to the surprise of no one, those mostly women of color were smart enough to get a regular and better paying job else, with guaranteed hours. That has left a smaller pool of available housekeepers. The hotel chain is making excessive profits on the backs of the lowest paying people in the hotel business. In addition, they do not tell you when you book that the room rate does not include housekeeping (so ask before booking), they do not amend the rates because they no longer clean the rooms. Same rates less service! There is simply something wrong with that business model that I cannot move on from as a traveler. In the future, I will be vetting the house keeping policy for all hotels before book.

Fantastic hotel and even better location. We are originally from Rochester and have always stayed with family but now after staying here we will probably opt for hotel stays going forward. If there is a god, Bianca is gods gift to the hospitality industry. She is lovely and has made our stay a joy. The staff is all very friendly and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here- especially with all the great restaurants nearby!

There was a feeling of cleanliness and it was a good hotel. The bed was nice. There was no bathtub, but it may be due to the grade of the room. As for breakfast, there was not salad, so vegetables were not taken very much, but American hotel may be such a thing. The gym was pretty good, but the weight equipment was a bit difficult to use. We did not use pool, but it was good to look at from the outside. I couldn't find a good restaurant around. Maybe there was, but I didn't ask the concierge, so I entered a nearby steak restaurant called Mortons. I was overcharged but it has nothing to do with the hotel. Overall it ’s pretty good.
- Guest User
When I went there, the clothes were not very well worn. I was slightly despised, but I was more polite to check in. The hotel is centrally located, fully equipped and the rooms are comfortable, clean and tidy. Check-in guests are more formal, just happened to meet a class reunion. On the day of check-out, the phone was expected to be delayed by one hour and was confirmed.

After arriving at the airport, I called to ask for a pick-up. After about 40 minutes of calling, no one answered. The service staff at the hotel’s front desk and restaurant did not wear masks and were very upset. The air conditioner in the room was outdated, the sound was roaring, and the wind direction was directly facing the head of the bed.

The hotel is expensive, but the room is not big, there is no bathtub and no view of the sea. Most of the money is paid in this location and exquisite decoration. Hotel parking is also expensive, and there is no free service, so the 7, 8, 8 nights of hotels are really not cost-effective. Of course, it is also a bit historical and design. It is indeed a lot of rich people to live, but if you want to really enjoy the feeling of rich people, it is best to book a room for more than one night, otherwise you will regret the money throwing in the water like me. Don't say that I didn't see the world in poor and sour, I moved out and lived in downtown Santa Barbara, LA and other places, no comparison and no harm. I can say that I don’t think I have too much money to live. After all, it is still a luxury hotel. It will not be uncomfortable. I can’t buy it with a little money. Don’t be as fascinated by Xiaohongshu as I am.

We were really looking forward to experiencing a 4 night stay here and were sure it would be the highlight of our 3 week trip across the States to celebrate our anniversary . However we were left a little disappointed with a few aspects during our stay. We arrived a little earlier than guaranteed check in time and enjoyed relaxing in the bar and on the chairs overlooking Santa Barbara. However, we were not contacted after check in time and had to ask twice and so check in was later than expected. Our room was stunning though and worth the wait. Highlights were definitely the view, setting above Santa Barbara, the relaxed atmosphere and terrace for meals. However, it was mainly service that was disappointing for such a high end hotel. Breakfast was erratic. Day one was spot on, day two we had to ask for missing items, day three took over an hour and on our final morning it was twenty minutes before we managed to even get a drink let alone someone to take an order. The pool area is stunning visually, however, don’t take a bed near the pool room unless you want all the staff gossip, though it was entertaining! Plus it took over half an hour for a glass of fizz to arrive and when it did, it was luke warm - just not what you’d expect. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on our first night but the menu didn’t offer enough choice for us to dine there again. We didn’t manage to book the shuttle but ubers were easy to come by. I think perhaps if we’d have stayed one night, we’d have been more ‘wowwed’ and the cracks wouldn’t have been so apparent. For a leading hotel of the world a little polish and elbow grease is needed to be truly worthy of the title.

The breakfast was very rich, the service was very good, very stylish, the room had more than sixty square feet, there was a dining table, living room, fireplace, jacuzzi, kingsize bed, the boss was very good, there was free parking, we arrived It was late, almost eight o'clock, she prepared tea and red wine for us. The hotel is basically a big garden. It can be seen that the boss has spent many years sorting out the arrangement. Get up during the day, walk in the garden, sunbathe on the sun loungers on the lawn, read the book, very comfortable. Take the No. 1 road and stay here for one or two nights before going to LA.

PROS: 1. nice grounds 2. pool staff was friendly 3. nice location 4. free use of pedal assist bicycles 5. nice views of the ocean from the trail on the south end of the property CONS: 1. no bellboy to help us unload our bags from uber upon arrival - the most important way to make a good first impression (or a bad one). 2. trash cans overflowing with empty water bottles in lobby upon arrival 3. first room given to us was dark. we had to change rooms. new room was not ready until 4pm so we had to kill 2 hours upon arrival. 4. $30 Uber into Santa Barbara each way. 5. Young male Bartender at Angel Oak handed us the drinks menu at the bar and then forgot about us. He never came back to take our order. We just got up and left after 20 mins. It wasn't even that busy. 6. From the spa pool you can see the club lounge. But you cannot go in there! It is not enough to pay $900/night for a room at the Ritz. You must have one of the more expensive rooms I think to gain access. So you feel like a loser swimming around there, but not being able to pop up there for a drink or appetizer. 7. The Ritz only took over this property in 2017 so they are stuck with the layout and inconsistent rooms quality / layouts. 8. No mention of our anniversary celebration from the front desk staff despite me mentioning it in the notes of my reservation. 9. They allow dogs to walk into the bar area. The bar does not offer port or dessert wines. Also, the Guinness beer on the menu is from a bottle, not a keg pour. Give it a miss. 10. $50 for a pitcher of beer poolside. Everything 20% more expensive than it should be, but, hey, it's a Ritz I guess. Don't think I'll be back.

The resort was beautiful, the room was comfortable and clean. We brought our golden retriever and it was a very pleasant stay for him as well. The location is close enough to the shops and restaurants of State St. but far enough away to be peaceful and not too crowded. My only complaint is the food. We ate at all of the different restaurants and each time we were so disappointed by the quality of the food and the prices were astronomical. I don't mind paying a lot for good food, but this food was worse than what I make at home and I am not a good cook! My daughter ordered the lobster roll at The Set and it was terrible. $30 down the drain. We had breakfast at The Roundhouse and the avocado toast was beyond bland. Then we tried lunch at the Terraza del Mar - I got a chicken Cesar salad and my daughter got a poke bowl. The salad was cole slaw mix and chicken, that was it. Her poke bowl didn't have the rice that it was supposed to have and was horrible, she couldn't have more than a couple bites. I would stay at the resort again, but would never eat at any of their restaurants again. Better to Doordash or eat off property.

We found this charming little hotel last minute as we were road-tripping through Santa Barbara. It’s a wonder that it wasn’t fully booked up in advance! Although not right on the water, it is only a five minute walk to the harbor. It has a couple of wonderful features. First, it is quiet and solidly built. Second, the internal long courtyard is filled with trees and plants - a lush botanical garden to enjoy. The staff is super friendly and there is a continental breakfast. We have taken many road trips during the COVID era; when other properties fall short, this place satisfies!

The hotel is very good, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is very delicious, there is a special special offer, the hotel is on the beach, the beach is just a street away, the beach is beautiful. Parking service is also very good, but if you want to park in the hotel, you can only valet parking, you need to spend 32USD, the orange ticket given by the waiter must be collected, you must have a small ticket to pick up the car, when you go, it is recommended A 10USD tip for the valet parking attendant. The service quality of the waiter is also very good, very friendly to the children, and the children are very happy to play. The style of the hotel is still somewhat characteristic. The room is very compact and hygienic. We live on the first floor, the sound is not good, the sound of walking upstairs is very large, the noise of the hotel exhaust and air conditioning is also very annoying. The front desk service is good, the attitude is very good, when the check-in prompts the opening hours of the pool and laundry room, daily breakfast, fruit, snacks, free milk cookies at night, the front desk will remind you of the time. The hotel has plenty of parking spaces and special features. The only downside is that the floor has some sound and the sound is not very good. You can hear it next door. Refrigerator cooling effect is good, air conditioning is also, that is, the sound is a little bigger. There is a dressing table outside the bathroom, a lighted makeup mirror and a separate wardrobe. The bathroom and shower room are large. Outside the door are gas stations and supermarkets. It takes 5-10 minutes to walk from the beach.

We have just checked out of Lavender Inn by the sea after a wonderful stay. The location is perfect, just off highway 1 and a very short walk (5 mins) from the seafront with lots of restaurants and shops to explore. When we arrived a bottle of champagne was chilling in the fridge and the staff put some rose petals and chocolates on the bed (we were on our honeymoon). The staff were extremely friendly, special mention to Jesus who was helpful when we arrived and gave us a map of the area and a list of recommended restaurants. Lavender’s sister hotel, Bridas del Mar Inn (opposite) allows free bike rental which was perfect for getting around. The Inn also has a free happy hour every evening with some local wines. Breakfast was also a hit, a continental selection with a quaint patio area which was simply lovely. The bed is one of the comfiest we have ever stayed in! Would highly recommend staying here!
