Reviews From Real Travelers
Pros:
1. The hotel's location right by the Inner Harbour is convenient for visiting several nearby attractions.
2. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and gave us detailed information about the hotel's entertainment and dining facilities, as well as local sights. Knowing we were driving, they also informed us about parking (even though there's a charge).
3. The beds were comfortable.
Cons:
1. Due to the hotel's age, the bathroom only has a bathtub, no separate shower. They've installed two glass panels to act as a splash guard, but there's a large gap between them, which means shower water still wets the entire bathroom floor.
2. The windows in the rooms facing the street aren't double-glazed, so the noise from passing vehicles at night is very loud.
At over 4000 a night, the value for money is extremely low.

Happy with overall stay experience - clean, excellent service, fantastic room. The feel of the hotel was unique in its vintage and historically significant decor. Only felt that the restaurants within the hotel were not exactly family friendly but there are plenty of them just right outside the hotel for us.

The location is slightly off downtown; if you have a car, it's not a problem. Street parking is fine; you can pay $19 for a night. The flat is huge for two people. The facilities are in good condition. There are two Dyson fans, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. We were here in the summer, but the temperature at night was around 12-14. It's good not to have AC in the room, and the room still feels cool enough with the balcony door and the bottom windows opened in the bedroom and the living room, even without turning on the fans. There are washing machines with a drying function in the room, which are free to use, but you must bring your detergents or buy them at the front desk. I liked the living environment and the fresh air here. As it's off the main road, I enjoyed the silent evening without traffic noise.

This hotel is the most detailed hotel I have stayed in Canada! The location is on the pedestrian street, the decoration is exquisite, the bath is full of L’Occitane, and there are two pairs of slippers! Loved, coffee is also a very good brand. Next time I go to Victoria, I will never look at any other hotels. The five-star praise is definitely worthy of it.

The room is very good and worth recommending! The details are great, and the shower 🚿 is also very good. It should be better than many hotels in Canada. The location of the hotel is also very good, and it is very convenient to travel!

The hotel location is very good, just downtown. The scenery outside the window is beautiful. The suite is large, the bed is a king size and a sofa bed needs to be pulled out. There are tableware and knives in the kitchen, but there is no chance to use them. Breakfast is American style, with toast, waffle, pancakes

The location is good. You can walk to the Provincial Council Hall and Chinatown. The rooms are relatively large and comfortable to live in. There is an exclusive parking garage to check out before 12:00, but you can park for free until 3 pm.

Very clean, the beach is very convenient for walking, the sea view is also good, that is, if you drive a large off-road vehicle, the hotel's parking lot can't stop, you have to stop in the public parking lot that is a distance from the hotel, the overall feeling is good.

Hotel facilities are average and clean. Disposable facilities such as slippers, combs, toothbrushes are not provided. No bottled water and no kettle. It is wise to add money to upgrade to a view room. The only highlight is that the hotel is in a great location, facing the city center along the street.

The location is convenient! The service is excellent! Parking costs 30 yuan per day and requires leaving the car keys, but the service is great! The breakfast is simple but acceptable!
However, it was disappointing: I had requested a room with a nice view in advance as it was for a birthday celebration, but I ended up with a low-floor room facing a construction site. The construction started at 7 AM, and the noise was quite unbearable!!!FromNZD 337

phenomenal experience at this amazing hotel. All the staff were so sweet and amazing. The indian front desk consoled us in the middle of the night at 4am when we thought the hotel was ******* (it wasn’t’t it’s just us). The hotel offered free gummy bears in the lobby, and when we asked for more, they gave us a whole bag!!! (1 kg, selling for 13 bucks on amazon) The gummies are also such good quality they melt right in my mouth when you put them in. The amenities are so chic and high quality i could eat a child. (my friend typed this idk what she meant) The kitchen equipment is also quite well. The staff also helped us scared a ghost away, we slept like a baby the second night after bathing in the tub. no ac was a bunmer tho.🤞🤞😩😩FromNZD 430

Victoria is not big. This hotel is located in the heart of downtown, and you can basically walk everywhere. Within 10 minutes of leaving the hotel, you can see all the scenery near the Inner Harbour. There are countless high-quality restaurants. Apart from the price being a little high during peak season, there is almost no disadvantage.FromNZD 427

The location was lovely and the staff were very professional and friendly the lobby was nicely appointed and the restaurant was amazing. I was put in a room on one of the lower floors that seemed a bit older and looked out into a garden or some kind. The room I was given was directly opposite the elevator, and the noise was incredible from the hall and from the laundry facility above. The bed was comfortable, if a little too firm for my taste, but clean. If I were to stay again I would request a different room for sure.
The elevators were also mostly out of service resulting in long waits to get anywhere. I gave up and took the stairs twice. It would also be nice if there was a drinks machine with the ice as I would have loved something besides coffee or tea.FromNZD 414

This hotel is a bit dated, but the service is excellent. The front desk has a list of nearby international restaurants. I asked the Korean receptionist, and she recommended a Korean restaurant that was delicious. 😋…it was very helpful. 👍 The rooms don't have air conditioning; they only have fans. Also, some of the dishes in the kitchen weren't cleaned properly and felt sticky.FromNZD 220

5-Star Review for Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel, Victoria, BC
My stay at the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel in downtown Victoria was nothing short of exceptional, especially thanks to the front desk team's kindness in upgrading me to a suite. The suite was fantastic—extremely spacious at around 400-600 sq ft, with a full kitchen including fridge, stove, microwave, and dining area, plus a cozy sitting space and pull-out sofa that made it feel like home. Cleanliness stood out, with spotless rooms, fresh linens, and well-maintained facilities throughout this heritage property renovated in 2019. The location is unbeatable, steps from Government Street, Fan Tan Alley, and the Inner Harbour, perfect for exploring Victoria's attractions on foot. Service was top-notch: friendly, accommodating staff handled everything efficiently, from check-in to daily check-ins, echoing countless glowing guest reviews. Amenities like free WiFi, fitness center, air conditioning, and 24-hour front desk added to the comfort. I can't recommend this hotel enough—it's a gem for any Victoria visit!FromNZD 310

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! One of the highlights was the free bike rental, which made exploring the area so much fun and convenient. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise; the homemade croissants and pastries were absolutely delicious and added a delightful touch to our mornings. The billiard room was a great way for our family to relax and enjoy some quality time together. We also found the coin laundry service incredibly handy, especially during our extended stay. Since I went there during the hot season of summer, I didn’t notice that the website didn’t state that the hotel does not have in-room cooling air conditioning. There was a small fan in room 204, and the window could not be turned on for ventilation. I stayed for two nights. When I picked up the room, the hotel staff told me that the hotel had no vacancies and no room could be changed. Even contacting trip.com customer service could not solve the problem of changing hotels. I couldn't have a good rest on the first night. The lady on duty at night was empathetic and told me that the hotel was not fully booked. The hotel staff did not change the room until the next day when the hotel staff notified the manager. There was no western sun and ventilation. The hotel staff highly recommended 👍🏼 which made my trip to Victoria perfect. In summer, hotels without air conditioning are not recommended, and it is also recommended that websites state that there is no air conditioning.FromNZD 300

We liked well renovated rooms and pop decorations.
The pool was not specious but my daughter had fun with it.
They provided nice and honest service!
My daughter left her allowance on the shelf accidentally then a cleaning staff took it (of course) but
when she explained that it wasn’t tip, they returned it to her.
I was very touched by their response.
It’s located in front of a mall.
We will definitely be back this hotel.FromNZD 236
