I spent four nights in the excecutive suite of the new wing and i was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and excellent standard of this beautiful resort near the airport, which was not noticeable at all (no planes flying over or near the location). The hotel staff was always attentive, friendly and helpful. The beach was kept clean, the schools of little fish in the water indicating its purity. The restaurant Allegro's breakfast buffet offered a variety of different cuisine to choose from: tasty , fresh, appetizingly displayed. i especially enjoyed the local filipino treats like puto and bibinki. In addition i thoroughly enjoyed my vegetarian pizza at Delfino's and the refreshing thrist-quenching freshly-made juices at the juiceBar. I received two very relaxing treatments by Ms.Aileen at the Spa, with its peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Housekeeper Ms.Rose was impeccable at making sure i always had new bottles of drinking water. Although i did not require her daily housekeeping, my room stayed clean , towels orderly and my laundry was in perfect condition , delivered on time. This beautiful Resort deserves a five star rating in my humble opinion. Bravo and Thank you Bluewater Maribago, i know where i will be staying when i come back to the Philippines in the near future.

We stayed at the Shanghai-La Mactan Cebu for a week. The resort is absolutely gorgeous with incredible employees- everyone is helpful and courteous. The resort has multiple daily activities including snorkeling which were great. We tried most of the restaurants and they were great! Acqua which was Italian was tasty ; Buko Bar was also yummy! Highly recommended for a relaxing hotel with good pools and calm environment.

The bathroom didn't look clean. The toilet was broken. One of the two bathrooms had a broken shower booth, so water came out strangely. I recommend taking a shower booth (and bring plenty of filters) There were two towels per bed, and they gave out toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and shampoo. There was Netflix and YouTube on the TV. There was a sofa where you could stretch your legs (I don't know how to open the middle one). There were four air conditioners, including the living room and the bedroom. The air conditioner dripped water, which was uncomfortable. There was a carrier in the closet of the room that I didn't know. I didn't want to use the closet because it didn't look clean. The kitchen was equipped with an induction stove, microwave, refrigerator, and cooking utensils. There were also sponges and dishwashing sponges. There was a swimming pool on the 5th floor of the hotel. There was a mini pool and playground equipment that kids could play in. There was a Korean mart, a laundromat, Starbucks, a mart, a pharmacy, a currency exchange place, restaurants, and a club around the hotel. There was a taxi stand nearby, so it was easy to get around You could pay with Korean won at the Korean Mart Overall, I was satisfied, and the staff were friendly and nice I would visit again if only the bathroom was clean

Perfect resort for a getaway, with friendly and super helpful staff! We had a great time there!

All bookings at Nustar Resort include breakfast and access to the Executive Club Lounge located on the 23rd floor of Fili Hotel. Mini-Bar is complimentary with a selection of 2 local beers, juices, and sodas. Nespresso machine with 4 capsules. TWG tea. Bottled water is unlimited. I appreciate the fridge being very cold. Gerlain Paris branded bathroom amenities, as well as bath salts for the large bath. Afternoon Tea (2:30 pm - 4:30 pm) Light snacks with a limited selection of savory and sweet bites, they need to improve on this. Evening cocktails and canapés (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm) Excellent food buffet. I like the lechon quesadillas, jalapeño cheese poppers, and siomai. I appreciate the bartender crafting cocktails from a menu of drinks. I understand the hotel is still brand new, but they need to do multiple inspections before releasing the room to guest. Vanity mirror was dusty from construction. The Butler service was very attentive, many thanks to Ice (Butler) for making my stay pleasant, he would escort me to the pool, and even breakfast buffet at Fili Hotel bypassing the crowd at the entrance. Breakfast Buffet is at Fili Hotel which is extensive and one of the best in Cebu. The problem is the crowd, while Nustar Butlers will escort Nustar guests to a table, there’s no dedicated tables for Nustar guests, which confuses the restaurant staff with seating assignments. Alternatively, the breakfast buffet at the executive club lounge is quiet but with limited options, they should have an a la carte menu to expand options like other international luxury hotels. The security at the lobby entrance is wildly inconvenient and inconsistent, every time you enter you need to prove you’re a guest of Nustar and not a guest of Fili or a casino player. It’s weird that they are sometimes overly strict and many times just ignore people passing by. Guests have a keycard to use elevators what’s the point of the guards that have a list of people’s names and room numbers, if anything that’s a security risk. The pool service is lacking. Shared between 2 hotels and the upcoming grand summit. The pool area lacks service of a 5-star hotel, towels need to be claimed at a towel hut. My expectation is that there are staff that will setup loungers with towels for guests. And since the pool facility is shared with the muncher large Fili Hotel it can get crowded. Fortunately, Nustar has a private infinity pool which was closed my stay. Nustar Resort has potential to be Cebu’s most luxurious hotel, they have the hard product with their spacious luxurious rooms, but they need to improve their soft product - the service from the butlers are outstanding and personal, but everyone else seems to be lost. For the asking price of 250-300 usd per night there’s a lot to expect. Nustar is primed for excellence but falls just short of achieving refined luxury. I’m hoping Nustar partners with Marriott and rebrand under Luxury Collection. Or even Hyatt with Unbound Collection.

I’m beyond amazed. The place are relaxing views, magnificent room views, comfortable dining and beautifully romantic area. The beach are clean and clear like crystal twinkling by the sun rays. Unfortunately, Got stung by a jellyfish and the staffs acted and ask about my wellbeing and so fast to close the beach and did the best thing action to avoid for other guests to get stung and do the protocol by putting red flag as warning sign and inform the other guest about the incident. They had immediately responded/managed to implement another activity to avoid boredom to pass time since the beach were unaccessible for the guests to enjoy which ai think are best for all ages can join and even small/children guest would enjoy. It’s a perfect weekend getaway.

Overall, excellent, really friendly and perfect for relaxing. The lagoon was fantastic, you could float on top of it for hours watching the sky change color. There's an on site bakery, food generally good and 24/7 service. Def worth the money. Lots of readily available activities to do too. Great service.

Kandaya resort is definitely very beautiful and clean. It offers many activities from ARV, horseback rides, archery, island hopping and many more. The breakfast is delicious and has a variety of, especially Philippine cuisine. The kayaking was our personal favorite. It’s just a long drive away from Cebu city. However, should we find ourselves that side of the world again, we will choose this resort anytime. Lastly, the room was so stylish and modern..it was just amazing. Bed is super comfortable.

The hotel is fine and the staffs are accommodating. One important issue is the convenience of going from the airport to the hotel cause there is no lift in the parking area.
