We very nearly didn’t book because of the poor room reviews. So our experience was so much better than expected. So firstly the food was exceptional. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried both eating places. The food was reasonably priced, good portions and served with a smile. So much choice and even though it was heaving with people we didn’t wait long for anything. The bedroom had a huge double bed. It was very comfortable with spotless linen and fluffy towels. The room had its own heating so we could adjust it to our own taste. It also had a comfortable settee. There is only one plug to charge phones etc but we brought our own multi socket extension lead with us so managed well. We only stayed one night in case it was awful. We were meeting family there. We will definitely stay longer next time. This was just before Christmas and the weather was awful, I can imagine due to its location it will be lovely on a summers day. Actually that is another good point. I normally find places quite cold. I was never cold at all there.

We were recommended here by a few people and thought we were in for a treat!!! Treat it was not- we booked one of the “high end” rooms so expected it to be “high end” The room wasn’t great-the condition of the furniture and an overall very tired room. We wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for something nice as a treat-over £100 a night u expect a bit more really! It was very tired and could do with an overhaul. We have emailed several times after our stay but unfortunately had no response - terrible customer service and would stay clear if you’re looking for a special stay!!!

First visit for birthday Used the Friday Feeling deal, excellent value for money.£99 night included £15 off Italian meal & excellent breakfast . Don’t expect a luxury experience, but good quality food. Outside buildings and areas round back despirately need repainting , but Xmas decorations beautiful at reception.

Excellent from walking in to leaving, friendly staff , lovely place serving piping hot food . Best italian round this area, will be back very soon.

I was very skeptical booking to stay here after the mixed reviews, I have to say I was very disappointed by the room and wish now that I saved my money and booked elsewhere. We stayed in room 65, when we opened the door, there was a very strong smell of must and the carpet was in desperate need of a clean it was black. Lots of chipped paintwork, and dints on the wooden headboard and units. It was booked as a romantic birthday treat but the premier inn down the road is much more luxurious it is nothing like the images advertised online. The walls are paper thin and you can hear the neighbours having a conversation whilst you are in bed or their tv and any other noises through the wall. I did go to reception to request to be moved to a different room because the musty smell was absolutely awful, but the rooms were all fully booked. The positives were that the spa bath was very powerful, the beds were comfier than expected and the food at the Italian restaurant was lovely, that is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant area have some lovely sofas in the waiting area with a nice log fire this is the best part of the visit to guys. The bar area seemed a bit grubby and in need of some upkeep, although we didn’t eat in the bar, the food did look lovely that was being served to other tables. Maybe we drew a short straw with the room but I won’t be returning to stay here again unfortunately.
