|11.07km from city centerI chose this motel because I had a very early flight out of SLC airport and my return flight a few days later was arriving very late. Since I live a couple hundred miles from the airport I booked a stay on both ends of my trip. My spouse and I are Best Western Rewards members and usually stay at Best Westerns when we travel; but for this trip, I was solo. Checking in, I was given a lot of grief because the reservation was made in my husband’s name (even tho I made the reservation). I even had the confirmation number. The front desk clerk finally agreed to let me stay after a lot of persuasion on my part. My husband and I have the last name, btw. When I returned and tried to check in a few days later, I was told I did not have a reservation. Once again, I did have a confirmation number and the name of the person who had made the reservation for me. The desk clerk told me my reservation had been cancelled by some person whose name I didn’t recognize . I’m clueless why they would let a stranger cancel someone else’s reservation. After a lot of argument the clerk finally agreed to get me a room. But of course it was $40 more than my original room. Even though the rooms were comfy and clean, you can bet I will never stay at this motel again. The clerks are rude and argumentative and have absolutely no desire to help you. The reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because the room was decent.

Delicious, huge pancake, bacon and tasty hot chocolate the next morning. Microwave near reception. Beautiful Chihuly apprentice glass installation visible from numerous locations. Clean, tidy rooms. Reading light on headboard perfect! More hotels should realize people need to be able to see to read or plan/adjust travel itineraries. Special praise and thank you to Jake in the restaurant and especially to Hanna, fifth floor housekeeper for her polite service, kind and friendly attitude, both should be considered valued staff members. Two stars sleep quality - sunken area in mattress. Numerous pillows - but all hard. Low toilet.

A great pool, great airport shuttle, and great service at checkin. Moses, the assistant mgr took great care of me at check in. The room was very large and very nice. The price was the best of all the hotels near the airport. Not a negative word to say about this place!

Also website stated that dinners & breakfasts were available at the adjacent restaurant. After checking in we soon realised that the restaurant appeared to be closed. Upon asking at reception this was confirmed - so why had they not sent an email to warn of this situation?! When querying this with reception staff, one member in particular was very curt in her response. We had to search in very high temperatures to find suitable restaurants although the free light rail system did reduce the walking distance.

In the evening there were fresh cookies. In the afternoon there was a dispenser of ice lemon water. WiFi was good and the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We had a small issue and the manager, Todd, was extremely helpful in resolving the issue.

We live on the second floor and feel the hotel The facilities belong to the more average ones in the car hotels (almost seen the worst), the taste is a bit strange, the price is indeed cheap, there are more black people staying in the hotel, although everyone is very disciplined, but I still feel a bit uneasy. The price of the hotel did not say that it is the cheapest of the motels I have stayed at this time. If the requirements are not high, there is only a place to sleep and bath. You can choose. If you have expectations about the conditions of your stay, you can choose another one. Right.

|0.69km from city centerPerfectly located in downtown. Several excellent restaurant, bar, coffee, etc options in all directions. Location really does not get much better than this. The lobby bar was a fun & welcoming crowd & the bartender gave great recommendations. The fitness center is well appointed with dumbells up to 50 lbs and a cable machine + cardio equipment. The rooms are very spare & minimalist. Some people love that, others find it cold. Personally, I prefer more hard surfaces in hotels as it feels cleaner to me. They also had ample room to open two suit cases and still room for a small sofa bed-- plus a nice bathroom, big windows, and an extremely comfy bed. Not at all AC hotel's fault but Saturday night was pretty rowdy around the hotel with a very large & noisy group of cars rolling by bars letting out in the wee hours and someone screaming their head off. But, that is what happens when you stay downtown I guess. Maybe ask for a room that doesn't face the main drag? We found the parking to be less than ideal. There is a garage (pay $17/day) that is shared with an apartment building across the street. You don't have access to the elevator lobby so you either need to carry everything down stairs or down the ramp & we spent one morning wandering the garage trying to find our car since the garage access is kinda wonky. Overall a good stay and would definitely stay here again.

Then there was Luna on the night shift who always had a helping hand. Daniel in housekeeping was also very helpful and hard working. This hotel had a wonderful hot breakfast and the preparer was quick and always cleaning up. They scrubbed and Disinfected the break room area beyond what I have ever seen before. Kudos to the housekeeping team. Did I mention the shuttle service? That’s worth the stay in its self. We will return here if we ever come back to Salt Lake City.

|0.47km from city centerI recently spent a week (second week of April) staying at this property and knew when booking it that I had to keep my expectations in check. The location was great for access to the car rental agency, airport and downtown locations I planned my week around. There is a Denny's, McDonalds and a killer good Mexican restaurant all with in a block or two. The property is worn and dated but all common areas are clean and without any musty or overpowering smells. The rooms are surprisingly large and I was quite comfortable with my bedding and pillows. The unfortunate thing was that during my visit they were unable to provide any air conditioning as their system was still set for winter. After returning to my room on the second day and finding it at 85 degrees I had to discuss options with the desk. They were very understanding and were able to move me to a cooler room that I was able to deal with after buying a fan from the local Walmart. I did note that the toilet paper holder was askew and partially pulled from the wall. The metal towel holder had at one time been ripped from the wall and reinstalled without any concern for the resulting sharp edges from the resulting damage. My smoke detector was not mounted to the ceiling but instead resided on the shelf inside the closet. For me these were all little things, excepting for the air conditioning, and inconveniences I could handle. If my wife had been with me the place would not have worked and I felt for those guys that were checking in with their female partners. This is basically one of those places where traveling construction crews utilize (at least during my stay it was). The staff is friendly, accommodating and left working with what they have do deal with the best they can. I almost got what I expected when booking this chain, however I have had excellent past stays at other Comfort Inn locations. Salt Lake City is very easy to maneuver and knowing that now, I would not hesitate to look for a better stay a little further from the central city. Would I stay again? Only by myself and on a tight budget. It was not terrible, unsafe, or dirty and did what I needed - just don't expect too much with the price.

|11.21km from city centerAfter having an awful experience at the Hampton Inn Murray, Kala the manager learned why we had left that hotel and came to hers. She was extremely apologetic and explained what to look for when we explained that we had left the previous Hampton inn because we found what appeared to be a mite in our bed. She took the time to explain the difference between mites and bed bugs and put my mind at ease about having an infestation in our luggage. She then went on to tell us that if we found any issues in our new room at her hotel she would come personally come to the room and make sure it was fixed. She then went above and beyond and called us after about an hour to make sure everything in our room was good and we were satisfied. Then the shuttle driver Felicia was super friendly and apologetic about our circumstances at the Hampton Inn Murray. She was punctual and got us to the airport within a short amount of time.. Both of these individuals should be commended for making a terrible situation right by showing some concern and empathy to a customer who was ready to never stay in a Hilton hotel again after my experience at the Hampton inn murray

It’s a very convenient location and you can access downtown easily by foot or by free light rail. The staff were all warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome during my stay. The rooms are very large and have all the standard amenities. Breakfast is included and it consisted of both hot and cold options. Thank you for the great hospitality! I hope to stay there again in the near future.

They have an amazing Mongolian Beef rice bowl, great beds+pillows.. It’s clean, friendly, and best of all great service. Today I flew in in a snowstorm. The shuttle driver took me right to my car, so I wouldn’t have to drag my suitcase through the slush in the parking lot, then he put my suitcase in my trunk, AND brushed the snow off my car. Seriously? All my stays here have been great, but this one was above and beyond. It’s a gem, a well kept secret. Part of me didn’t want to write this because I don’t want it to be difficult to book in the future. My only suggestion is perhaps the desk attendant could give customers a map with their room marked. Sometimes finding the room is difficult due to the way it’s laid out. For me this is a minimal complaint and the rest of this establishment makes up for it!

|9.46km from city centerI had a stay Feb 5-6, 2023 for a ground floor room w/ a single bed because I'm 100% handicapped from my military service during Vietnam. I called Microtel twice on 2/1 & again on 2/4, to confirm that I had a 1 bed ground floor rm. Both times the clerks assured me that it was in their system. I showed up Feb 5th around 3:30pm, & was told by the rude female desk clerk that there's no ground floor rooms available. I told her that I had called twice on different days & was assured that the notes were in the system. She finally checked again & put me in a ground floor room, that wasn't very clean, but I accepted it, since there wasn't any other ground floor rooms available according to her. That evening the room above me kept dropping things, & it sounded like being in a bowling alley w/ the loud noises. Later, a family came in the room next door to me, & the kids started yelling, screaming & pounding on the walls. I called the front desk a couple of times, but no answer. It finally stopped around 10pm. The next morning, I went to take a shower. There wasn't any hot water, & the soap & shampoo dispensers were empty. I called the front desk & again, no answer. Afterward, a Mexican guy apparently had a key to my room & came in, w/o knocking or anything. He looked surprised when he saw me, & started speaking Spanish. I asked who he was & why he came in my room, but just talked Spanish. When I went to the front desk & confronted the clerk (the same rude clerk that checked me in the day before) about this guy having a key to enter my room, she said it MAY be the maintenance guy. I then asked, ”Why didn't he say he's maintenance or staff or have hotel ID on him?” She claimed she didn't know. I filed a complaint w/ the mgr thru the clerk, & he finally sent me a email 3 days later saying he couldn't do anything about the noise from other guests. Nothing about the other issues, like no hot water, soap or shampoo, or why the guy had a key to enter my rm. No offer of a refund or some sort of compensation. Do not stay at this Microtel !!

It would be part of good customer service and satisfaction to inform guests and ensure that their stay is as comfortable as possible. However, it seems like this hotel (Aimbridge Hospitality representing Marriott Hotels) really does not care for their guests. I have been a Marriott Platinum member for over 11 years and a Marriott Rewards Member for over 16 years and this was the worst experience I ever had at a Marriott. We visited Salt Lake City for our family Christmas vacation and even though we had many options, we chose to stay at this Residence Inn by the Airport because we thought this hotel was going to meet the needs of our family. Our experience at this hotel was horrible. We received an email the night before we were departing on an 11 hour drive to Salt Lake City letting us know that they were renovating the hotel. In that email, we were told that the indoor pool and fitness center would be closed. If we knew ahead of time about the renovations we would have never booked our room here as we needed both of those amenities during our stay. Also, we chose the Residence Inn for the convenience of the complimentary breakfast, however, this hotel didn’t have many options. They were very low on breakfast items on several days during our 8-day stay. On Christmas morning, we walked down to breakfast to find the counters completely empty and no staff available. Our children were left without breakfast on Christmas morning. A courtesy notice would have been nice so that we could have made other arrangements for our children. It was really difficult with long wait time for our family to get breakfast outside of the hotel. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned before checking in, especially because of COVID. We found leftover items from previous guests in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. My six year old daughter found a box of beer under the bathroom sink. Dishes were dirty and had to be washed before use. The bathroom sink was clogged upon our arrival. The dishwasher was filled with dirty water at the bottom. The remote was missing for the tv and needed to be picked up from the front desk. Any request we had for towels, garbage bags and other essentials, we were asked to go down to the lobby to pick them up ourselves during our entire stay. We communicated our frustration with the front desk and asked them to have the general manager, Michelle Cotterell contact us. However, a week has gone by and we still haven’t heard from her. We received an email from the assistant general manager, Taylor Collinsworth asking us to come back to stay with them, but when we contacted her twice and left a message with the hotel, we never heard back from her either. It seems like Aimbridge Hospitality who manages this hotel, does not care about the customers or reputation of Marriot Hotels. We encourage you to do your homework before staying here.
