Jumeirah Beach
Dubai
|11.9km from Consulate Of KenyaAfter staying last year, I recommended booking a 2nd-floor beachfront villa in the first row. The view was expansive, and it was convenient to get to the beach. This year, I went again, and by chance (due to a full house, the hotel upgraded us to a suite, but we could only check in at night, and for our subsequent plans, we couldn't enjoy late check-out from the suite), I unexpectedly discovered that villas in the back rows also offer good value for money; you don't always need the top-tier option.
However, for the back-row rooms, I still recommend the 2nd floor for the expansive view. On the 1st floor, with buggies passing by, privacy is always a bit compromised. Also, you can check a map or notes to see which villa/room you're getting. Rooms facing the inner canal are quite good, while those facing the lawn have a slightly less appealing view.
A 60-square-meter room is very spacious for two people. I believe all 2nd-floor rooms come with a balcony. The bathroom is quite large, almost half the size of the room. The price for the most basic room without breakfast is only one-third of the sea-view suite. Plus, Wild Wadi Waterpark tickets are included (if you go early, you can get free large towels, but they run out later. No need to rent a locker if you don't have valuables). Breakfast is 250 RMB per person, half price for children. You can book with breakfast or add it on-site if you decide to go.
Dining at the hotel is quite expensive. A bowl of plain rice is 80 RMB, and spring rolls at 150 RMB are just ridiculous. The hotel claims to have 20 restaurants, but honestly, there isn't much to eat. A taxi ride to the nearby Mall of the Emirates costs 100 RMB round trip, and there's a food court downstairs with burgers, pizza, and Chinese food. But this doesn't compensate for the expensive/limited hotel dining options. The breakfast in the main building is good; the egg chef is very skilled, making sunny-side-up eggs tender but not undercooked. Fruits and bread are plentiful, though Chinese-style options are limited to some steamed dim sum.
The cleanliness and housekeeping of the room are impeccable. During this stay, the butler service improved; there were no more unanswered calls, and they were generally very enthusiastic. The buggies and abra boats usually arrived quickly. The only frustrating part was the local staff's math during checkout. We had one night upgraded to a suite, then for the next three nights, all upgrades and breakfast were canceled, and we paid separately for breakfast for 4 days (2 people for 2 days, 3 people for 2 days). The entire checkout process, the butler (the only one I had to complain about this time, a Caucasian person who seemed unenthusiastic), upon seeing I had an issue with the bill, actually said she couldn't handle it and told me to go to the front desk to check out. The front desk recalculated several times and finally found that one day's meal charges were incorrect, and one transaction was misallocated... it took 4 recalculations in total. Of course, the front desk ladies were very patient, and the gentleman at the front desk during check-in was also very patient. We arrived quite late, and he still explained the upgrade costs. After the first night's upgrade, he even arranged a late check-out for the room change the next day. Although he mistakenly upgraded us to a 1st-floor sea-facing suite instead of the room type I wanted, his attitude was very good, which prevented me from getting angry.

|2.54km from Consulate Of KenyaThe place is good if you’re not planning to stay inside the whole day. The staff is amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and genuine. Especially the evening receptionist (Egyptian gentleman, I forgot his name).
The rooms are spotless clean and also the housekeeping staff really do a great job.
The gym and pool are in another building, short walk away. Gym is very well equipped and the pool has a nice view.
The room only has a small window and this can at time feel a bit odd.
All by all, would consider again.

Sheikh Zayed / DIFC
Dubai
|1.15km from Consulate Of KenyaBefore booking, I read some reviews mentioning the hotel was a bit dated, but honestly, the decor and maintenance are quite good, and it didn't feel old at all. Any issues were promptly addressed by calling room service, and someone was sent over very quickly. Our double room was very spacious, and the breakfast spread was excellent. The restaurant where breakfast is served also offers a good dinner, with a 20% discount for hotel guests. Overall, the service was outstanding; the staff were polite, warm, and very responsive.
My only minor complaint (perhaps taking off half a point) is the wait time at the front desk, and a slight hiccup during check-out. We were initially asked to pay a tourist tax which we had already settled. After a supervisor confirmed it wasn't required, some time was unfortunately wasted.
The hotel's location is excellent. It's only one metro stop away from both the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall (though realistically, walking from the Dubai Mall Metro station to the mall itself takes about 10 minutes, and the area around there is quite chaotic with ongoing construction, making it tricky and a long walk to find a ride-sharing pick-up point). This, of course, is not the hotel's fault! It's also just one stop from the Museum of the Future (in fact, walking there might even be quicker than taking the metro or a taxi, especially if the weather isn't too hot).
The rooftop pool isn't huge, but it's a great spot to watch the sunset, and the bar offers stunning city night views.
The only real inconvenience is that the hotel's main entrance is situated right before the entry ramp to a major expressway. While the hotel's contracted drivers know to maneuver a bit to get onto the main road quickly, ride-sharing services or regular taxis will often take a long loop around the hotel's side roads, only to come back to a spot near the front entrance before joining the main road. The detour isn't the biggest issue; it's mainly that you'll likely be stuck in traffic for a while. Generally, morning traffic is much smoother.

|5.22km from Consulate Of KenyaVery nice place, studio serviced apartments are very nice. But don't get a room close to the entrance gate and road because cars and motorcycles will sleep deprive you all night. Very busy road as it goes down to the beach carparks with very loud cars and motorcycles going past all night until about 4am-5am. So request a room down the opposite end of the resort from the road and you should have an awesome stay. Resort has its own scuba diving courses, kite surfing lessons and wind surfing and paddle boards and stuff. It has a very good gym with top of the line gym machines and equipment and a very nice swimming pool area. Resort right smack bang on the beach. It has a nice sitting area where you can enjoy a meal and some drinks and look out at the ocean.

|18.08km from Consulate Of KenyaFirst of all, the staff is really nice. I've only stayed at luxury hotels in Dubai, but this place is friendly and cheerful! They even called me directly to resolve any difficulties I had with taxis or delivery. They also upgraded my room, and it was my first time staying at a penthouse. It was really big, had a lot of rooms, and there were some old parts, but overall, it was a really great place to stay! They even delivered Dubai chocolate. It took 20 minutes to deliver~ There are a lot of restaurants nearby that deliver, and the view is great. I'm especially grateful to the staff who helped me with check-in and check-out. Thanks to them, I think my last stay in Dubai will be memorable.

|8.63km from Consulate Of KenyaThis was my first time staying at the City Seasons hotel. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. I was allocated a spacious room, high standards of cleanliness with complimentary water bottles, bathroom slippers, bathroom robe and amenities. The best about the room is that you do not get disturbed by housekeeping for cleaning, the high tech features of the room include the cleaning/dnd buttons you can choose which notify the housekeeping that you would like the room to be cleaned or the dnd button (do not disturb). Air cooling is excellent. There is also a cafe/restaurant and a huge lobby along with a beauty salon, gym, swimming pool and a massage/spa area.

|5.56km from Consulate Of KenyaOverall, everything is very good, and the location of the hotel is excellent. The lobby, however especially the waiting area tends to be quite crowded most of the time, and there are often non guests seen sitting or resting there. The hotel also has a large disco, which makes the area livelier but sometimes adds to the crowd in the evenings.
On the other hand, the upper floors of the hotel are peaceful and comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere for guests. The hotel staff, especially the room cleaners, are extremely professional, friendly, and attentive. Their service really adds to the overall positive experience.

Just use the hotel as a transit hotel as going through Dubai and for this it was absolutely perfect.
The room that I’ve had allocated was in desperate need of a renovation as you could see that it was very aged and basic, but for the price that I paid was far in excess of what was needed.
Would stay again during transit for sure but no longer.

As a large group of nine, with adults, teenagers, and children, we found the two adjacent family suites to be a perfect fit. The breakfast was excellent, and the kids loved the swimming pool. We also appreciated the convenience of the on-site car rental and tour booking services, which saved us from having to arrange things elsewhere. The free parking is also great. It was a great stay for our whole family! The only thing that could make the experience even better would be to have dedicated hours for ladies to use the swimming pool.
