|0.73km from city centerWe stayed 3 nights in order to visit Venice. The staff are wonderful, polite and helpful. They made us a takeaway breakfast for the airport without us even asking. This place is incredibly good value, Our room was big & had a king size bed. The bathroom had a really powerful shower. Everything was spotless, we had towels changed and the room serviced daily. There is a brilliant restaurant around the corner on Dante Street, good quality food and not expensive. I would recommend this hotel for Venice, the bus is only 2 minutes walk and is very regular. The train station is 10 mins walk. You can get a shuttle bus from the airport for about 8€ and just walk down 1 street to the hotel. The breakfast was ok, croissants, nice fresh bread rolls, yoghurt, juice, cereal. Plenty for a speedy breakfast before an early start in Venice. (Get there as early as you can to beat the crowds and see the massive operation of getting the City into action) The Wifi in the hotel was great. There was a TV with only Italian channels, but it did have music channels as well. This hotel is such a bargain. Enjoy!

|1.25km from city centerWhen we arrived we realised that all the previous reviews were correct. The area is not safe at all and there are men hanging around on the corner of the hotel for hours on end. I know this isn’t the hotels fault, however, there’s no extra security in place and hotel reception staff aren’t 24/7. On the 3rd night, due to there not being aircon, we had to leave the window open (these windows open 2 different ways - like a normal window or a safety way where only the top opens towards the room). At 3.30am we were woken up to an intruder who was trying to break into our room through trying to open the window from the outside by using a metal screwdriver to open it. We had to shout, scream and push the door shut and as two ladies in a room we couldn’t get back to sleep. There was no phone in the room to contact reception, which wouldn’t have mattered anyway as there was no one around. It was horrible & when we tried to tell the lady at reception the next day, she didn’t do anything, just said she’d check the cameras like she didn’t believe us. We were in such a hurry to leave the hotel. We were in a room separate from the main hotel, down the road, which looked like old council flats. The room itself is very basic. Nothing in the mini fridge, our window was broken on the first day and we had to wait 30 minutes for a handy man to come and fix it. We only got one pillow and even though we asked for another one, we never got it. The beds were really hard and our bedding wasn’t changed, just made everyday. The shower was exceptionally small but it was powerful. you can hear every single thing that happens in the rooms next door. We were woken up by people showering in different rooms at 6am. The breakfast is very dissatisfying. There are two sittings - on our first day the breakfast lady refused us entry as our names hadn’t been put on the sheet where you have to say which sitting - an error by the reception staff as we had booked the night before. The breakfast itself had all ran out by the time we were able to sit down. 1 bit of cheese left and no fruit. Very basic so we decided to get breakfast out the next day. As there are no reception staff, we couldn’t check out before 8am, however we had to be at the airport for 8.30 so we went to reception to hand the key back in. The lady was very rude and told us we should’ve checked out last night? How would we have got into our room? she also was rude and told us that we should’ve booked our taxi the night before too (even though the previous staff who were very helpful said come to reception in the morning. We left feeling very unsafe and worried that we hadn’t been able to check out. We were hoping to speak to the manager but the woman just walked away. It’s such a shame as the younger staff were really helpful and friendly at the start. But it’s not safe - I wouldn’t feel safe on my own and I didn’t feel safe with two of us. It is close to the train station, but you don’t feel safe walking there

|2.35km from city centerSelf-driving in Italy because of the inconvenience of parking in Venice, I chose this hotel in Mestre.
1. The hotel is located at the high speed exit, 1.4 kilometers from the train station and takes only 18 minutes. The train will soon take you to Venice.
2. Free parking with plenty of parking spaces, no problem overnight;
3. The surroundings of the hotel are very good, the Parkhotel deserves its name and the dinner also has the characteristics of northern Italy.
4. The lobby is decent and the space is fine. The front desk and the waiters are very welcoming.
Overall, a great and very comfortable stay.

|0.3km from city center The hotel is situated at an ideal location, right in the heart of the city. Access to public transportation, such as buses and trams, is only a short 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel. The Marco Polo airport is easily accessible within 15 minutes via public transportation, as is the old city of Venice. With frequent transportation options available, this is a great location. While the rooms may be slightly old-fashioned, they are still comfortable for those wishing to rest and enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day. The staff were friendly and Lorenzo, in particular, was especially helpful and accommodating. He went the extra mile to ensure my stay was comfortable, even arranging a specific breakfast for me during Ramadan. Overall, the price for the hotel was more than reasonable.

|1.36km from city centerWe stayed here prior to our cruise last May. Super nice staff and the owner. The rooms are clean and the free hot breakfast is sufficient. They have omelet or other eggs to order. No elevator but the staff will carry your luggage up and down the stairs. 5 minutes walk to train station and the bus to Venice is just around the corner. Bus tickets available at the hotel. They stored our luggage for free while we did our side trip to Milan for 2 days. I cannot say enough, I highly recommend this hotel.

|1.15km from city centerWhen we went, the booked hotel was under renovation, so it was directly arranged to the next door. The hotel is also a four-star hotel, which seems to be a d starting hotel. They are all owned by the same company ... but the breakfast is not as good as described ... just Normal continental breakfast ... not much choice for yogurt lovers ... maybe because it's not the same hotel? ? ? The room is very big and warm, there is a large radiator in the toilet, and only central air conditioning in the room ... so the clothes can only be hung in the toilet hhhh

|1.51km from city centerThe location of this hotel is particularly good, right next to the railway station. It's only a 20-minute bus ride from the main island to the mainland. And you can choose breakfast every morning. Even better, some concerts and parties are often held in the evening. I see they are trying best to create a better and comfortable accommodation environment here.

|0.36km from city centerI visited with my husband for a couple of nights. The room is basic, but more than adequate. However this was made up for by the lovely staff - nothing was too much trouble, even when our plane was diverted and we arrived at 3am, some 6 hours late! We had an excellent breakfast in the garden which was a delight, especially the fragrance of the jasmine growing there. The icing on the cake was the number 2 bus outside the door takes you straight into Venice! Don’t just base yourself there for Venice, go to Mestre, lovely & laid back - perfetto!

|1.2km from city centerThe hotel is very clean and very nice, super friendly staff and comfortable. It has a comfortable location for the center because it is near the tram stop T1 and bus, in 10/15 minutes you reach Piazzale Roma doge gondole and bus ship to reach the center of Venice. The room was very good, but we know it was not the staff's fault.

|0.62km from city centerThe location of the Hotel is a plus, because it is near bus stops and a few minutes walk from the train station going to Venice proper. The breakfast buffet was okay, could add more choices but nonetheless we enjoyed our stay. Kudos to the night shift receptionist (forgot his name) who was very helpful and was able to book us a taxi for our early morning flight. Would definitely recommend 👍

|1.22km from city centerThe hotel you couldn't really fault to be honest, it was cheap & cheerful, very basic but just what you need for a 4 day/3 night break. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment, glad I didn't pay for breakfast though because you can just get up earlier and venture into Venice for this. We arrived at the hotel around 9am not expecting to be able to check in until 3pm, but the lady accommodated check in for no extra charge as there was a room available. The room we had did not represent the nice white/cream rooms as per the pictures on *********** - it was grey/red with wooden flooring. Lacked mirrors (only had one in the bathroom) which was difficult for 2 girls trying to get ready at the same time, could have done with a floor length mirror in the main bedroom area. The door lock system for the rooms are quite loud and we did wake up on the second day quite early because we heard presumably next doors door opening. We had the bed made / fresh towels every morning which was good as we didn't expect this. City tax was paid in full when we arrived on the first day - think it was around £16 for 4 days. To get to the hotel from the airport there is an airport shuttle bus for 10 euros return. The transport links are really really good and very easy to get in and out of Venice. There is a tram stop behind the hotel about 5 min walk taking around 10 min into Venice or a bus stop at the side of the hotel about 2 min walk taking around 15 min to Venice. You must buy tickets BEFORE you get on any public transport (we unfortunately didn't know this and got fined 50 euros per person!!). There is an app you can download called AVM Venezia, and you are best paying 5 euro daily pass for bus or tram unlimited use for 24 hours - make sure to activate the ticket BEFORE getting on transport because if not it makes the ticket invalid. All in all had a really good trip, the hotel was very accessible, and just what you need. If i was to come back to Venice I would definitely stay outside of Venice again, local to Hotel Alexander (or even come back to the same hotel - but would request one of the newly renovated rooms as per the pics publicised).

|0.88km from city centerOn my way to another hotel in the area after getting slightly lost and it being around the midnight hour, I stopped here for directions. The very kind receptionist gave me the directions needed. Another receptionist was getting off duty at the time and walking to her home along part of the way. I made it to my intended destination without any trouble using the perfect directions given. These are two employees that deserve a special shout out for their help. |1.86km from city centerI stayed here in October for 5 days. The hotel was perfect and had everything I needed. It was extremely clean and well kept, and affordable! The location is perfect if you don't want to stay right in Venice on the island. A great breakfast every morning and the train and bus are very easy to access to get you to anywhere. The best part -Alex!! She was so kind and helped me with planning everything I wanted to do. I was traveling alone and she went above and beyond to make my stay incredible!! We went out of the city on a prosecco tour that blew me away. It was so nice to see the beautiful countryside. I can't say enough about how great it was for me!! I hope to go back again!! |2.46km from city centerI chose the Russott Hotel by random Google search, when I was planning a work trip to Venice, and I was not disappointed in my choice: this hotel, despite it being in need of refurbishment upon my initial thoughts, was a Wonderful experience. it is a True Vencian experience, and the close link to a tram stop (3 minutes walk) to Venice Old town, it turned out to be a Wonderful choice . I Highly recommend this hotel, and am looking forward to taking my Wife there to visit Venice

|1.37km from city centerThis was a last minute booking. Although the hotel was basic , it had everything that we needed including good air conditioning in the room. The room was clean and had a good bathroom including a decent hair dryer. Staff were helpful and friendly especially those on the front desk. Alex was particularly good and his English excellent. A great location for catching the tram into Venice. Very cheap and convenient. There were good places to buy food locally, including a deli, a pizza takeaway and a fabulous taverna virtually next door. Only downside were the mosquitos in the area. Don't open the windows and just use the air conditioning!! Would recommend.

As it wasn’t a bank breaking trip, we didn’t really expect much from the hotel, but upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely staff, a clean, large size room with good facilities. Staff were very helpful with transportation and information of the city. Hotel is located perfectly, 20 mins from the airport (£8pp bus ride) and a 5 minute walk away from the tram to take you to and from the heart of Venice (£3 return pp). Couldn’t fault it, will definitely be using again.

|2.38km from city centerTypical Hilton so quality was not bad. Rather than paying v high hotel rates in Venice people should consider Hilton as it is v reasonable. There are two buses right outside the door with the 2nd stop that brings you to Venice bus terminals. You can walk in to Venice or take a ferry within 30 min with things to see whilst you are walking.
Another plus is that with a 5 to 10 min taxi ride you and your luggages will arrive at the door of Hilton without the trouble of taking your luggages to your hotel in Venice after transport through boats
But you need to time the return journey especially when the weather is cold or wet as it is hard to get a taxi in the evening when people are leaving after dinner.

|0.37km from city centerPros:
1. Excellent location - close to bus/tram stop to Venice, 3 minutes walk (tickets can be bought at the hotel reception). Also around a lot of cafes, convenient.
2. The rooms are pleasant, there is a refrigerator, air conditioning
3. The hotel is small, it was quiet
Cons are not critical, but still:
1. There are no screens on the windows, we were bitten by mosquitoes
2. The air conditioner is very old and noisy, even at minimum power. But we slept with him, we got very tired during the day in Venice)
3. The shower door does not close completely
4. We missed a kettle in the room
