Having read all the previous reviews on this hotel, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We weren’t expecting much more than the reviews has suggested- a noisy night in an old run down hotel. Everyone else had made it sound like a dingy little hotel that was loud and not up to standard. To our pleasant surprise, it was actually a lovely place to stay. The rooms were spotless clean, with comfortable beds, tv, kettle, sitting area and plenty of space. Bathrooms were also spotless, again with plenty of space and a nice shower. The reception staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. The manager of the hotel happened to be there on the night (New Years Eve 2022) and informed us that it was the first night in almost 3 years that the hotel had opened its doors again to guests. It became clear at this point that maybe the hotel had done some renovating to refresh the place. It is a lovely hotel, can’t fault the staff, the rooms, or the location. It is based on one of the most popular streets in city centre for young adult night life and is waking distance (5 minutes) to St.Stephen’s Green, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The luas is also right on your doorstep. Unlike other guest reviews, we didn’t suffer from any loud noises or the music from the nightclub below us. They do provide complimentary ear plugs for all guests in the rooms, however, we didn’t need them thankfully. Again, possibly an improvement that was made. The only thing we do recommend, is that they make some modern improvements to the lift, which is a 2 person lift, very small and slow; and that they improve on the breakfast layout, perhaps a buffet style along with the continental breakfast in a more suitable room rather than one of the back function rooms. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

Facilities: Renovated in an old building, there is no elevator, the internal structure is more complicated, we are arranged in 5XX, but it is actually the 3rd floor, the body feels the 5th floor, through a door, around the strange structure. And each floor of the stairs is very high, very tired, as if climbing on the 10th floor! The decoration is slightly old, but I tried my best to maintain the original classical characteristics of the old building. I made a lot of efforts in the decoration, laid on the red carpet, hung a lot of oil paintings, especially in the lobby and restaurant. The front desk was very simple and early in the morning. It was also very interesting and decorated with a strong Christmas atmosphere. The room is a bit rudimentary, the facilities are old, especially the bathroom, as if you came to the guest house, the door is not very sensitive to swipe the card, it seems that there is no air conditioning. Hygiene: Generally, barely pass the customs. Environment: The location is in Dublin District 2, District 2, on the south side of the river, is a relatively safe area, and it is very convenient. You can walk to Dublin's major attractions, riverside and shopping centers. St Steven's and a well-known museum are within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. There is also a light rail station next to it. The bus needs to cross a graffiti-filled street to another main street, which seems much less secure, a bit like Camden Town in London, where supermarkets and restaurants are also. Service: The staff was very welcoming, especially the staff in charge of the breakfast, and we felt very welcome and received a lot of care.

OK let me explain before you book!! Harcourt Street is a busy area with noisy nightclubs from Thursday onwards - maybe other days too but not sure about that so if you are not going clubbing etc and you get a room.at the front - you won't get much sleep because its very noisy and then you have the Luas (Tram) that runs all night!! If you are a bad sleeper and get a room at the front - forget about sleep!!! Earpods won't even drown out the noise!! I would definitely stay again though because of location- 5 mins walk to Grafton Street etc... Fast check in - room basic but spotless and had a bath too which was great!! I didn't eat so can't comment!! Staff v polite!!

The location of the hotel is good, but because of the street, the sound insulation is not very good, the sound of the bar is very noisy, almost until 4 in the morning. The front desk service is good. Breakfast is simple.

For what we've paid for this place, we would have been much better off booking a hostel or actually sleeping on the roadside. Let's go to a popular booking site and read what this hotel advertises, shall we? It advertises: ”Luggage Storage available” - Maybe they should change it to PAID luggage storage available. For the experience we had, paying them MORE money to hold our luggage was the icing on the turd cake. ”The hotel features a popular nightclub, which operates 7 nights a week.” - More honest advertising would be, that this glorified hostel happens to be next to a nightclub, which operates 7 nights a week, up till 4 am. You will enjoy the benefits of having a band playing for you in the room. Also the ambience of drunken people singing along until four. Nothing more relaxing than that after a whole day of walking around Dublin. I couldn't think of a better way to unwind. But hold up, knowing full well that the noise gets up to 90dB in the room until 4am (Or might have been 2am, or 3am, sleep deprivation does that to you) we have taken amazing steps to protect our visitors who pay quite a lot for a room. Do we have soundproofing, double-glazed windows, or heck, windows that actually close? NO OF COURSE NOT WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? We provide earplugs!! Problem solved :D Another thing to note: Hot water? What are we, the Ritz?? If you think I exaggerate, go ahead and spend hundreds of euros and find out for yourself. RUN. RUN as far and fast as you can. Unless you don't mind total discomfort or are severely hard of hearing in both ears.

The Green Hotel exceeded all my expectations. It was centrally located, beautiful, clean, comfortable and the staff could not be more helpful or nice. This was my first trip to Dublin and Jessica at the front desk was wonderful in providing help and assistance. The room was spacious and everything was in proper working order. The breakfast was unbelievable and so delicious. The perfect meal to start the bay exploring Dublin by foot. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The room was beautiful and the windows overlooked the garden in the back, which made for a stunning view to wake up to each morning. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The staff was accommodating and very friendly, always happy to answer whenever I had any questions. I included the breakfast upgrade with my room and if you are considering doing this I HIGHLY recommend it, the food was phenomenal. The hotel is also perfectly situated next to the St. Stephen’s Green LUAS stop, several bus stops, and many restaurants. This was important to me as a solo traveler, I never had to travel more than 20 minutes to get to any of my sightseeing stops. The hotel is also directly across from St. Stephen’s Green which was so convenient for taking impromptu strolls in this beautiful park. I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

We flew into Dublin T1, arriving 12:30 and caught the 784 bus - the stop is literally outside the terminal. A quick and efficent journey straight to Charlotte Way, across the road and into Camden Court for lunch. The hotel staff were friendly, but what really blew us away was the goats cheese salad ..... WOW... sadly we didn't stay at the hotel, but instead caught a 5 minute cab ride to our hotel...

I stayed for four nights with my teenage daughter on a mother-daughter trip. Got a great rate booking a few months in advance, and I am so impressed with the value received for the price. We were given a room with two beds on the top floor facing the courtyard- it was quiet and comfortable. I brought earplugs after reading some reviews about noise, but we didn’t need them. The bathroom was updated and the shower was great- hot and nice pressure. The beds were a little “creaky” but comfortable, and the linens were cozy. The hotel staff were helpful, the restaurant was good for breakfast (although we chose to eat elsewhere most mornings) and Darkey Kelly’s pub on the first floor had great food and music. The location is fantastic- we were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. I really can’t find a single fault with this hotel for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Had a wonderful stay for 2 nights , check in was fabulous, met Gillian who had emailed us about the bus transfer, from the airport, information was very good. Our room was ready so checked in a little early, much appreciated after our long flight from Canada. Dinner at the hotel was excellent , Leo our waiter was excellent, very friendly and always with a great smile! Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast, Irish sausages were to die for they so delicious the best sausages ever!! A great base to be to get into the city and explore, we had such a great time, after visiting other countries on route we checked back into the Hotel again for our last night before leaving for our return flight back to Canada, stayed in Room 330, simply perfect, had a taxi back as luggage and early flight , cost 30 euros, Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for the lovely anniversary card and chocolates, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again. Thank you!

The sanitation is very good, the room layout is reasonable and neat, far from the city, but the downstairs is the starting point of the tram, it is very convenient to go to the airport, the 747 and 757 are separated by a small block on the south side of the hotel. 7 euros direct to the airport. It seems that green apples are available every day in the corridor. The restaurant bar is good and there is an open-air balcony outside.

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful and gorgeous part of Dublin. A few minutes walk away from the Green Line LUAS. The more compact bedrooms are a bit on the small side for a couple, but they’re still well appointed, very new and clean, and comfortable. The hotel bar is cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of parking, you’ll have to park onstreet at fairly considerable expense. Not really the fault of the hotel, but it is something to note if you’re driving here.

Good Hostel for a few nights, it was my first time staying at a hostel in a dorm w others. The beds are very comfortable und you really have your orivacy, which I loved. I didnt know that you have to bring your own towels so I bought one, I dont know if they provide them I did not ask. Also I did not find any lockers but I did not ask bc I didnt had a lot of stuff and I was out most of the time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is great just a 5 Min walk from O'connell St. Didnt check out the dining or game room nor the garden. My room was on 3rd floor and the shower and bathroom on the 2nd, but that didnt brother me. The shower and the room were very clean and not busy at all while I was there. WiFi worked fine and the beds are soooo comfy would stay there again but only for a few days, if I be in Dublin for a week or long er I would choose a hotel but that is just me because I am not the hostel type. If you are you will love it

It's a great experience every time. Stayed in a small room which was well planned and the space was more than adequate for me. Should suit a couple in a short stay as well. Great breakfast with Catherine turning it into an awesome one by bringing some double espressos from outside of the area. Checkin and checkout were fast and precise. The only issue was with the parking (no receipt given / doors wouldn't open / help intercom did not work), which did work at the end, but it has to improve to match what's expected from Spencer.

This hotel is perfect, location is amazing (hidden gem), and the staff...unbeilable fantastic! I want to start the review by thanking, Lidia, Abby, Alon, Dana and Lidia. I stayed at this hotel: 2 nights on my first trip (mid February) and then 3 nights with my family (early March). From the moment you arrive, you know this is not your typical hotel. It is more like an exclusive apartment with guest services. Do not expect the traditional hotel feel. I felt like I had my own apartment in the middle of Dublin and I had a friend at the front desk to guide me, provide me with recommendations and assist me with any question or service that I needed. Amazing! It made my stay in Dublin feel like I was at home. They knew me by name and knew what I needed. There is no elevator, which made it even better as I was able to do a bit of work-out getting to my room and along the way, I met a few of the other guests. This is not a party place, a loud and obnoxious place, you will not find rude people. Just guests who are interested in feeling like they are home. Since I stayed here in two different occasions, I was able to experience two different rooms both in the upper floor, one facing west and the other east. No street noise at night and its was quiet. The rooms have their own AC units which allows you to control the temperature in them. The housekeeping ladies (Dana and Lidia) will make sure your room is tidy every time you come back from your daily outing. Lidia will make sure that your are welcomed and Abby and Alon will make sure that you are taken care in the weekend and evenings. Can't say enough about this place! Perfect gem and a great place to be at.

Had a 4 night break a week ago. We had very good service particularly in the dining room. My husband has food intolerances and Alina, who I think was in charge of the dining room, was very good. She put the gluten free bread in a specially designated toaster in the kitchen, after the first morning she automatically did this when she saw us. Otherwise it was a buffet type breakfast, both cooked and continental, and put your own bread in the toaster. Lucas was our waiter and made us feel very welcome, he managed his section of the dining room very efficiently, brought us pots of coffee and tea, and cleared our table as we went along, we certainly tucked in! The hot food behind the buffet counter was constantly being freshly cooked particularly the eggs (personally I don't hot food that has stood for ages, especially eggs) We went as foot passengers from Holyhead, it wasn't worth taking the car, we chose the Arlington for it's central location. Someone showed us how to download an app to use the local transport, but the hotel is so close to the main tourist attractions that we just walked, it was easier. Being over retirement age, I went back to the hotel room for a ''rest” for a couple of hours in the afternoon. There was a lot of evening entertainment very close to the hotel, we went to 3 live entertainment events. The room was a good size, well serviced each day, nicely furnished, an old type shower worked well, and it had an extremely large comfy double bed. The view was a sort of courtyard, must admit not that attractive a view, but considering what we paid was overall very good value for money. Finally, Heather on reception was very good for information and booked our taxi back to the port. (on the way there just got the shuttle bus)

Last time I stayed here ( about 6 years ago?) room was dirty so have not been back again until three weeks ago. Location is superb right at the edge of Temple bar along the River Liffey -downside its a party area so like most Hotels in this area dont plan to sleep until late as lots of noise from bars etc. Room was lovely with lots of nice touches -only big issues I had was in 12c Dublin coming from 32c Jakarta and central heating did not work-you have to call reception to get it switched on then it cuts off every hour and does not work again until you call reception-totally unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel . Ended calling them five times so not much sleep!! It was a Tuesday night so looked like one of the bars in the Hotel was shut-but lots outside anyhow. Did not have breakfast as last time I did was served-took ages and was cold-judging by recent reviews on tripadvisor looks like this still. Reception on check in and out would not win any prizes for their hospitality and were just ok-could learn from The Morrison across the river where I stayed a few nights earlier -genuine hospitality. Would I stay there again -NO -leave it to Bono and the locals -heat is a basic requirement as is hospitality-better Hotels for the same or less money to be had in Dublin City.

This is a bit of a mixed bag; perfectly OK to stay for a single night before flying out, but for several days if you have to work, then maybe consider one of the Hiltons near the City centre. The good bits: -Hotel foyer & restaurant has a good layout -Parking is available in the underground car park Food in the restaurant is good For improvement: -Hotel corridors are dingy... carpets need replacing and so too lighting. It's a bit depressing -Rooms are ok (there are refurbished rooms that you might get), but if facing the road - a bit noisy -Aircon terrible... mind of its own -Service in the restaurant is incredibly slow. Took 2hrs to get meal, and of the three that served us, there was no intervention to check nor when we pointed out the wait, any immediate offer to resolve.. and it was undercooked. -The gym is small for a hotel of this size -Location is 10~15min from airport and 30 to the City via the toll tunnel. Above all, the restaurant service needs fixing and more attention made to how long dishes are taking. It's basic stuff really.

I have stayed at 4 or 5 hotels in my various trips to Ireland. I even stayed at a 5 star resort the last time I traveled here and I will say hands down the room at the Alex was by far the nicest room I have stayed in. It's not directly in the town center but it's just a 10 min walk away and one I didn't mind based on the quality of the room. My only wish was that it had a pool. There is a work out facility across the street that I never checked out so one might have been there. If I ever go back to Dublin I would definitely stay here again. They have a couple of restaurants near by both places were excellent one served the best fish in chips that I have ever had the other had a great Guinness beef pie.

Superb experience ✨ This hotel was crystal clean, the room was spacious and airy and decor lovely. These beds! So comfortable we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow! A dream ☁️ The team at the hotel were wonderfully helpful, attentive and friendly. We arrived very early the day of check in and they allowed us to check in and head up to the room on arrival which was such a relief after not sleeping almost two days with travel! We were very thankful. There is also a check out time of 12pm which is a fabulous perk! The only downside was we spent a lot of money on taxis into Dublin City which definitely added up. However, there is public transport available that brings you to the city in an hour. We had a lovely experience at this hotel. It was faultless and we would certainly stay again! The best staff ever in the history of hotels! I stayed 2 nights, I’m partially disabled and use a wheelchair and crutches. The staff looked after me superbly! Whilst my room, public areas and breakfast were all wonderful, it’s the people who made my stay so enjoyable! So that’s what I want to base my review on. I have a great deal of experience staying in hotels, both for business and pleasure. I have stayed in some of the world’s top hotels and for the customer experience, your staff beat everyone! Seriously! Nothing was too much trouble, I needed extra assistance sometimes and someone was there to help before I even knew it! I went to Dublin for the Rammstein concert at the RDS, so the hotel was super busy, however this didn’t prevent the staff from going over and above when it came to the customer experience. I was treated like a Queen from the moment I checked in, until I checked out! If I need to visit Dublin again, I will be back at this hotel! I recommend it 💯!

We stayed here as a group of 6 for the weekend. From the moment we arrived, which was fairly late in the evening, until checkout it was a top class experience. Lami, on reception, was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, full of ideas for our stay, and she couldn't do more to make sure our stay was one to remember. There was also a chap on that night alongside Lami, unfortunately we didn't get his name, but he too was just brilliant. The apartment itself was fabulous, clean, with every kitchen appliance you'd need, and the beds were comfy and gave a great nights sleep. The breakfast was one of the best we've had. A great choice of items, relaxed atmosphere, and great value for money. We also had a pizza in the hotel at 1230 one evening and that too was delicious. Thoroughly would recommend this to everyone and we will definitely stay here again. Thank you all for a great stay!

While the weather in Dublin was not the best as a major storm hit during our stay, the Gardiner Lodge was a sparkling oasis for us. The room was outstanding and opulent. I booked what was called Luke's Room on the first floor and it had lovely antique furniture, was spacious and quiet. The windows were 10 feet high! The staff was totally professional while friendly and helpful. The breakfast was serviced by the most kind staff with a full array of fruit, yogurts and made to order breakfast. It is as you read, in a more industrial on the north side of the river a couple of blocks but we had our laundry done around the corner and also had a couple of great meals within a block or two. Lovely place to stay.

Nice hotel with standard amenities. The room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar attached are nice as well and not overpriced. Not the best appointed if you don't have a car, but there is a bus stop nearby if you're willing to make a trek. Would definitely stay again for a nice break from the city centre.

I just joined my husband on a 4 night business trip to Dublin. We stayed at the Hyatt Centric where his meetings were held. The staff was friendly, the hotel was very modern and stylish and the room was clean and adequate (although not large, it was just right for two people.). They gave complimentary water bottles each day which is comforting when traveling abroad. I was especially impressed by the service at the hotel restaurant where we had breakfast each morning and one nice dinner with our group of about 50 people. The waitresses were so friendly and gave great service. One manager, Lisa Cloake, worked so hard each morning to keep the dining room operating swiftly. We always got our food within minutes of ordering and it was fresh and delicious! The hotel is just steps from St Patrick's Cathedral (Which has a wonderful park next to it) and within 10-20 min walk of many pubs, restaurants and shops. Bring supportive and comfortable shoes or you'll be sorry! We were there in mid October and the most I needed was a light puffy coat. The best place for souvenirs is Carroll's where you will find many good quality gifts at reasonable prices, just a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Premier Suites Dublin, Sandyford

Sandyford

My colleague and I stayed here for 4 weeks on a business trip including a period of Covid quarantine so being confined to the apartment for 14 days has coloured my opinion. Small things that you could ignore for one night or so can become very annoying. I can't fault the management or the cleaning staff. They were very helpful and attentive and the housekeeping was very good but the developer and architect didn't win my praise. Sandyford was convenient for us but the area is a warren of charmless new developments, several of which have stalled and are left unfinished. There are some restaurants and coffee shops nearby and a Dunnes and Aldi within walking distance and the Luas tram at the foot of the road is a boon for getting to places with a bit more to offer. There is a also a weekly food truck market across the street. The beds are comfortable and the mattresses were clean but I agree with other posters that they are too high to sit on to tie your shoes. We found several lamps didn't have working bulbs but these were quickly replaced once the management were notified. The presence of three restaurants on the ground level of means that the smell from their fryers wafts up when you are on your balcony. I could not identify the source but every few hours, day and night, there is a loud clattering that sounds like a bottle-bank being emptied. Our balcony had no view except of a car park hemmed in on four sides by tall buildings. The apartments have plenty of windows and light but that only affords your neighbours in the office buildings across the breezeway a clear view of your bedroom and living room and you a view of their desks, unless you keep the curtains closed. There was obviously a common area with benches and a play equipment built for the development but the access to this is now prevented by a padlocked gate. Protruding glass box windows might be attractive from the outside and provide space and light into the bedrooms but when it rains (as it does in Dublin) the rain drumming on the roof glass is loud enough to disturb your sleep. A very particular complaint was the useless key-card entry system which constantly failed and locked us out. The management are well aware of this as they told us to keep our key-cards away from any electronic device (hardly practical for keeping in your purse or pocket) as this might wipe the magnetic *****e. In five weeks we were locked out (with both cards failing) four times which is very annoying when coming home late and the reception has closed. The management sent over new cards in a taxi which took 30 minutes. The car parking spaces underground are a bit tight. The code to the building and garage (but not your apartment) changes weekly so you have to make a note of it when the slip is passed under your door telling you the new code. The trash collection area is disgusting, there are lots of bins but evidently these are not enough or they're not emptied often enough. Rem

We stayed at the Roxford Lodge for 3 nights in September 2022. We arrived wearily after an overnight flight, at 10:00 am. While check-in is clearly stated to begin at 3 pm, the front desk provided us with complimentary tea and croissants in the front room while they readied a room of a guest who had checked out early. Not expected at all, but so appreciated. When it turned out later that our particular room was affected by some unexpected noise, the hotel staff again graciously accommodated our request for a room change the following day, and upgraded the room type as well. While the rooms could benefit from a little updating, the overall hospitality is reason enough to book a stay here. It appears that the lodge is owned by a woman and has an all-female staff, which was nice to see. The location is excellent. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood that is within a 20-minute walk to Trinity College and City Center. In addition, we found some great places to eat breakfast and dinner within a 5-7 minute walk. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Donnybrook Hall

My experience at Donnybrook Hall was wonderful! My double room was more than adequate with an updated private bathroom. Enough hangers in wardrobe for my 8 night stay. Comfy bed, warm room (with the nice option to crack open a window) for my December stay. TV also included music channels, which was nice, Coffee/tea/biscuit/choc croissant in room daily. The staff was hospitable from checkin to my departure, Encountered a friendly face to ask about needing help every morning and night. Daily housekeeping was reliable and trustworthy. Defiantly a family operation! The neighborhood is great. There is a row of shops that include an upscale market, a bakery/coffee shop, Tesco, a pub with a restaurant and another restaurant. A fast food place serving really good fish and chips is open late along with another fast food place. There is a bus stop near the hotel, city center is about a 20 min ride by bus. I used taxis (easy pickup area in front of hotel) and safely walked into town many times. A taxi to temple bar was about 15-20 euros, a 50 min walk. This is a good option for a nice, quiet stay. A great value for the room and resourcefulness of the staff. Would defiantly recommend and revisit Donnybrook Hall!

This hotel is incredible and I’m so happy I took a chance and made a reservation despite that I wasn’t sure as it was my first time visiting Dublin. The hospitality, the facilities and the location right in the heart of the city was PERFECT! They even help me schedule my tours and coordinate everything! My birthday was a Wednesday and the reception team sent me a sweet note, a box of chocolates and tickets for complementary drinks. This detail I will forever remember it and a special thank you to Dylan and Karen for showing up to my room and surprise me on my bday. Hope everyone can get to experience what I did this week. Thank you, Thank you Thank you!!! Going back home feeling happy, blessed and in love with this beautiful country. I will be back for sure 🇮🇪 Take care, Carla from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
