Our stay was just for one night before we travelled back to Pescara to fly home. We had a lovely time. Great room, with a little balcony which had a couple of chairs. Not a great view but nice to get some fresh air. The bathroom was modern and had a nice shower with decent water pressure. The pool area is a little gem. We had a lovely couple of hours, lazing in the sun and the pool area didn’t close until 7pm. Breakfast in the morning was varied and had something for all tastes. Pastries, sweet cakes, bread, meats & cheeses. The nicest thing about the hotel was the staff on the reception. They were all so happy, friendly and really welcoming. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we are passing that way.

We stayed at the SeaLion hotel for 10 days in July / August. The hotel was fantastic situated right on the beach. We were 2 adults & 2 children, when we arrived we realised we had booked a std family room, with double bed & bunk beds which was fine but as we wanted a bit more space and privacy asked if they had anything bigger. The next day we were moved to 2 adjoining rooms with a large double, bathroom and balcony for us and a smaller bunk bed room with additional bathroom and balcony for kids. Staff moved all of our things for us while we were on the beach as not to interupt our day and our new room was ready for us by lunch time to shower and prepare. It was fantastic, and made the stay so much more comfortable. Th rooms were meticulously cleaned every day pre lunch. Breakfast each morning was lovely with a good choice. Italian breakfasts do focus around cakes and pastries with were freshly made and delicious but you could aslo get a variety of breads, meat and eggs cooked to order. For us the it was the beach that really made this holiday special! Being able to step right out of breakfast straight on to the beach is amazing. The beach area is looked after by the lifeguard Marco who was fantasic at making sure everyone was looked after and keeps the beach area meticulously clean and tidy. You pay a small additional fee but this includes your umbrella & sun beds. Use of pedalo's, sup boards and kayaks and also bikes if your feeling energetic. All the staff were friendly and professional but I must give a big mention to Gloria who looked after the childrens entertainment. She was fantastic with my 2 getting them to join in with the scheduled activities but also just fnding them on the beach or by the pool and playing ball / swimming with them. This is the first time they've happily gone off and joined in. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the bathrooms could do with a bit of updating as the shower doors leaked a bit and it would be lovely if the beach / pool area had a few more toys / inflatables the kids could use as when travelling you don't really want to carry lots of this. But these are very minor improvements all in all a fantastic stay and we intend to return soon.

We stayed in a junior suite, for two nights, on the 3rd floor and had a fantastic view of the beach. Since it was late September, the beach was really not occupied but a great view from our large balcony nonetheless. The hotel itself was very stylishly appointed with a very classy reception area. The breakfast was magnificent with fresh fruits & juices, breads, desserts, yogurt, meats and cheeses, milk, various coffee's from a automatic machine and tea's. There was also a lovely beach view from the dining room. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The only problems we encountered were with an interruption to the internet service on the second evening and a tripped circuit breaker for the A/C unit (which was promptly reset by the staff from the front desk). On-site parking can be dfficult at dinner time ~1900 hours+. Apparently, the restaurant is a popular dining spot(?). We did not eat there but it had a nice menu & selection. Also, there is a small refrigerator & a safe for valuables in the room. A supermarket is located ~1/2 mile away. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, as well. We would stay here again and enjoyed our time.

Whilst not outrageously expensive, this place is not cheap. Sadly, it’s heyday was in the 70’s when apparently maintenance and staff training stopped too. Being largely marble and concrete, there is little to absorb sound, so the public rooms are excessively noisy, especially the Sunday night of our stay (29th) when there was an extremely loud party on the ground floor. I rang reception at half past ten to ask when the noise was likely to stop. I was told it would be at least another 2 hours (actually it ended at 1am) but that it was a private party so we could not join. To put the level of noise in perspective, I could not hear my headphones in our bedroom! On the second day of our (sadly) 6 day stay, I reported to reception that we were only getting lukewarm water - they sent the (very surly) maintenance man with me to “fix” it. His solution was to demonstrate the use of a tap to me by turning the tap to “hot” and testing the temperature. With a voila-gesture he proudly showed that it was working (it was not, the water was barely lukewarm), but I gave up at that point given that my Italian wasn’t up to a detailed discussion of the technicalities of decent hot water in an hotel room! Of course he failed to notice the broken plugs in both the sink he had used for his much needed lesson and in the bidet (pictures below). Also broken were the toilet seat, which the cleaner had become adept at balancing back in place, until I removed it completely on the 4th day and deposited it in the middle of the room - she called Mr Happy of the maintenance department and he fixed the (still broken) seat back in place so we didn’t then need to practise trapeze artist skills to use the lav - the lid was still broken and sharp but we learned to keep our bums away from the cutty bit!! You will also see that more balancing is required when hanging up a hand towel - we never got to a point where that one got fixed on any level. Observation skills were also clearly not in evidence from the cleaning staff in that on day 1 we had a glass of wine each - 5 days later, on the last day, the glasses were still exactly where we had left them that first night - the hotel’s solution, by the way, to providing drinking vessels is plastic cups, both in the rooms and in the dining room; just tacky!! Staff have also not been trained in the fact that their guests are largely on holiday and do NOT need to be dragged into the waking part of the day before 6 in the morning by their shouted revelry during frequent cigarette breaks seemingly just outside our window. NOT a pleasant stay and not to be repeated! Stay away!!

This hotel is very close to the wonderful beach of Montesilvano, and that is its main attraction. The staff is VERY nice and helpful, but the rooms (we had two) are very small, and lack some basic (inexpensive) things, such as hooks to hand clothes, towels and bags. Our pillows were the hardest we have ever experienced-- very uncomfortable. The breakfast was rather basic but adequate. All the channels on the TV were in Italian. The main issue, for us, was the internet, which was often too slow to use. In today's connected world that is simply unacceptable, and we shall not return until that is rectified.

We have been several times with kids in this great B&B and the overall impression is great. Beautiful villa with big swimming and huge back yard are just a hints to the great escape from city with family. Beside very good facilities, there is also great lady-host that is always kind and ready to help with a smile. The service is excellent and the rooms are very clean. We will come back soon again, for sure :)!

Good flight to Abruzzo airport not really knowing what to expect and as flight had been delayed by almost 45 mins hoping airport transfer had not gone back to airport need not have worried in fact the manager Stephano himself was waiting to greet us and things just got better. The hotel is under new ownership and has been refurbished to quite high standard and Stephano and the other staff are very very friendly nothing is too much trouble for them and English is spoken so that was a relief although my wife speaks Italian it meant I was included in all conversations. From the first view of the hotels outside nicely painted front to the beautiful coloured flowers and newly pruned trees to the bright inside and great staff check in was very quick and our room had a great view of the beautiful beach 50 metres away where the hotel has a private beach section which is free to all residents. Breakfast is continental and plenty if it. Buses stop about 50 metres from the hotel front and are quite often. The rooms are bright and airy and the beds very comfy. While the bathroom is sufficient and very clean. Both my wife and I would reccommend this hotel and super staff to anyone looking to stay in this area. 5 star hotel and 6 star staff especially Stephano as they all made us feel very special Than you all Collen and Josephine Isherwood
