We, the three musketeers of my family again embarked on a south Asian voyage and again we landed at Singapore exactly an year after since our last visit. But unlike last time, when we came here along with a bunch of family members, this time we kept it short at just the three of us. Singapore as always is ever mesmerizing and the warmth of this visit him catapulted to another level owing to our accommodation option ie Hotel Arianna at Syed Alwi road, little India. Hotel Arianna is a budget option for travellers who don't want to splurge too much on accommodation. The rooms though a little small are super clean along with an attached washrooms. The hotel has got smiling and welcoming staff who make sure that our stay with them was super convenient and comfortable. The biggest advantage of this hotel is it's proximity to Metro Stations and also to Mustafa Shopping Centre. There is an array of eating joints, tourist destinations like Buggy's village, Orchard street etc near Hotel Arianna. To sum it up, hotel Arianna just left an unexpected impression upon us with its facilities, welcoming and super friendly staff and off course it's super clean rooms.
location is quite convenient and near shopping mall but need to bring own toothbrush coz din provide from hotel
Overall is okay and will be consider come again for staycation ,transportation also easy to be found and near mrt station too
Simple, spacious and acceptable. Good enough for a one night stayca. The body soap, shampoo and conditioner are just one solid liquid that can be use for all 3. Legit 3 in 1 dispenser was place on the shower wall therefore no bottles can be found just 2 pair of toothpaste and toothbrush with cups. 2 body towels, 1 rectangular medium size, a one anti slippery mat. 2 pairs of hotel slippers. 2 cups and a boiler with 2 small bottles of mineral. But noise wise can be abit disturbing to hear door open and close from neighbours. Bus available 23, 65 and others just exit the hotel, turn right and walk straight. Most nearest 2 mins bustop as compared to turning left following the directions of the car traffic. Overall yes I enjoyed and no doubt if I were to come again! Friendly service too.
I love this room that I stayed in, it's like one unit by itself, separates from other rooms by an automatic glass door, have all the privacy that you want! bathroom is very spacious, had a nice bath myself dipping in the bathtub. definitely will go back again and next time I shall request for the top floor (7th floor). Quieter i suppose, my room was on the 4th floor, was a little noisy but still acceptable. Sgs130++ for the room is really worth the money!
I booked Hotel 165 because of its low price in one of the booking sites over the internet. All I could say is that it was worth it. It was budget-friendly. The room was just okay, but since it's a budget hotel, you'd get what you paid for. Anyway, my friend and I went there so that we would have a place to stay in. Plus factor was that the location of the hotel was just right in front of City Square Mall. This mall opens at 10am-10pm. Right next to it is the Farrer mrt station. It's less than five-minute walk. My friend and I went to different attractions the whole day. The room was just OK. Not that impressive. It does not smell so good, but it's okay if you'd just want to have a rest after an exhausting walk in Singapore.
The People at the Front desk the day I checked in were a blessing. MY reservation date was wrong but they accepted the rate I booked under. I was so grateful for that. The hotel room was nice and new. The location is on a main street so getting around was super easy. I used grab while there but you can walk to many spots to eat. Singapore was our first stop in our Southeast Asia trip... The breakfast was your standard buffet.
From outside, it looks pretty heritage. Once you are in, everything looks gorgeous. The palette looks beautiful, the service was great, the front desk staff explained to me in detail and smoothly. The room was spacious, industrial chic style, maintaining it pretty well.

Comfortable guestrooms ensure a good night's sleep with some rooms featuring facilities such as internet access – wireless (complimentary), air conditioning, wake-up service, television LCD/plasma screen, toiletries. The hotel offers various recreational opportunities. A welcoming atmosphere and excellent service are what you can expect during your stay at Penta Hotel.
The staff could not find my booking. However, he finally could provide me a female dorm as I booked. The bedroom was clean but the shower was a bit dirty sometimes especially in the morning. The location is very convenient, it is near MRT Jalan Besar Station, you can find good and cheap food nearby the hostel.
Pretty impressed for a small hotel! For the price, what you get is decent :) Even has a fridge and some free snacks. They have some board games you can rent for free and game consoles/light projector for $5/night. Simple and clean room! They actually upgraded us to a room with window for free! Thanks so much to the receptionist 🥰
Service is very good, very warm, enthusiasm, the environment is more general, older, but the price is similar, the location is not bad, close to the subway, travel is still convenient, durian can be eaten near the hotel at night, this is very Nice
It was the most relaxing staycation I’ve ever had! Check-in was smooth and they even served us iced tea and cooling towels. The rooms were massive and I love the decor! The food was absolutely delicious from Bedrock Origin! Don’t get me started on the spa which absolutely relaxing and luxurious. Everything here was different from what you get from most hotels that I’ve stayed in Singapore. There’s lots to do within the resort with free wellness activities from Aqua Zumba, Tai-chi, Bath Bomb making, yoga and many more! Definitely a stand out is that the hotel staff were extremely professional, helpful and really went the extra mile.
The hotel is being renovated so facilities like swimming pool is unavailable. There is a makeshift gym I tried which cannot compare to the original set up. The previous gym was huge and well equipped; I hope after the renovation the gym will be just as good.
Room size was decent and clean. Love the monogram tea provided and even the mini bar was complimentary which I find was a nice touch. Overall a very enjoyable stay and hope to come back again soon!
I first stayed at the SEA Hotel back in 2014 as it was recommended by my aunt and uncle who always stay here when in Singapore. I love the place. It’s old and rustic (a throwback to another time) but for $100 SGD a night with a fabulous vegetarian buffet breakfast included (Kwan Im restaurant) and prime location in Bugis you couldn’t ask for anything more. Also when booking the staff are excellent in replying to queries and give very detailed information about getting to the hotel and airport transport options and nearby attractions. Free wifi was included and it was fast and reliable. The staff on the front desk were friendly especially the girl who checked me in. Bugis+ shopping mall (10 levels with cinemas, food/retail options galore and taxi rank) is less than 5 mins walk. I use this as a taxi pick up/drop off point to various attractions from the hotel. Bugis MRT Station is 5-10 mins walk and is on the airport line (10th station from the airport, with 1 change at Tanah Merah, cost only SGD 2.50) The Kwan Im Temple is right next door and worth checking out (it gets very busy with local worshippers). Directly outside is a pedestrian mall with a flurry of activity with market stalls and street vendors. The hotel is simple and rooms unadorned with only the basics but it’s all there and excellent value for money. They do request you leave your key if you go out and recollect (24 hour reception) but I conveniently forgot to do this most of the time and it was never a problem. Oh and don’t even think about bringing durians to the hotel!
We just loved the boutique and high class feel of the hostel whilst it also maintained that communal feel which we love too. The rooms were really comfortable and the mattresses perfect for us. The pods had great curtains which blocked out light and added privacy whilst staying in a shared room. Also loved the touches like two sets of lights one brighter and one a bit dimmer as well as the plug and slippers too. Location was ideal for exploring the city being a short walk from public transport, varied places to eat, a 7/11 below and not far to walk to the marina too.
Pros:
Good location.
Reasonable price.
Check-in was efficient.
Water provided. Free Wifi.
Generally clean.
Cons:
Very small room and the space isn't utilized well, layout of room is poorly done as it makes the room feel even smaller.
Bed is arranged such that one side of the bed is flush against the wall, bed partner needs to climb over me to get out of the bed - dangerous. No place to hang clothes. Bathroom is so small and there's no partition between the shower and the cistern, so the entire bathroom gets wet when showering. Sink is outside the bathroom hence the room floor gets wet.
No fridge.
No cupboard.
Barely any table/counter space to put belongings.
No room service unless you request for it at reception!
Service is alright - not rude, but doesn't seem sincere.
I arrived at Hotel about 03:35 AM. It was the time that all the people are sleeping. I was a little bit confused about my check-in because when I arrived at the counter he didn't ask me about my check in information. He just only asked me that I was paid or not and I said I've paid already then he showed me my room without asking to show my passport or check in information. Did he know me that I'm the girl who booked at 19th and arrived at 20th?? Maybe!!!🧐🧐
Never mind! The room is very fantastic and comfortable. I felt like I was in an spaceship🚀😅🥰. Since I was travel alone in Singapore I was afraid of sleeping at room alone. But the hotel is very safe .I really loved this place and next time when I come to Singapore, I promised that I'll book this hotel again ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the interior setting of the hotel. The room was cozy & nice for people looking for a gateaway. The small kitchen had everything but the induction stove was abit hard to control. Apart from that, the bed, bathroom & living area is perfect.
Our 1st experience was blown away.
Wife was exceptionally delighted with the room. The room was fantastic. The view from the comfort of our bed, terrific.
Hotel staff was kind with our request. Great job to all the staffs being a part of our memorable stay. It was an amazing experience. Kudos to the staff and management for making this hotel our No. 1 favourite.
And wife have been pestering about our next trip here.
Sure we will be back in the coming months.
The windows are unable to open. Carpet in the room smell stench. There is no hair dryer provided.
Service was tip top, when we requested for an extra pillow.
Need to improve with the room facilities and cleaniness.
We were a group of 12 and opted to stay in this hostel booking the whole 12 beds room, which we were very glad to have as it was the room at the top floor of the hostel, meaning the less noisy and more isolated one from the rest of the chaos. Let's start with the room: we had bunk beds with everything you may need: sheets, pillows, curtains to close them at night (great stuff for privacy this!) and personal lockers (you need to bring your own padlock). In the 12 beds room there was a private bathroom too with 2 toilets and a shower, which was very handy as it gave us some privacy. There are also more showers and toilets in the other floors that we could use. Breakfast was provided in a weird way: the first night we arrived we noticed a big plastic box in the room. The surprise was they have left us "the breakfast" for the following 2 days in there, which consisted of bread, jam, tea and coffee. Not what we expected, but it did the job. And now let's move to the worse bit of the hostel: the common areas. There is way too much people hosted in the hostel for the size of the common living space they have. The kitchen is tiny, and there is a sofa at the entrance that is always busy and with lots of people sleeping on it, so you can't really use it. The people staying in the common areas (not sure if they were guests of the hostel or not) was a bit peculiar, so we were glad to have our own space. The front desk is not very friendly but the check-in and out was smooth and easy (beware check-in is not allowed before 3pm). Overall it's a very basic hostel but the location is good.
I requested for a high level room for two ago but turn out I have to stay at the 1 level. I have been requested two weeks ago for room 307 or other big room but there give me a 3 level room which is small and with a wardrobe.i have no choice to excpect the level one room.
Stayed in Pasir Panjang for the second time. To be honest, I will still choose to stay at the hotel next time I come to Singapore for the following reasons: 1. The price is relatively cheap. 2. Convenient transportation: Many buses pass by, and the station is 10 meters away; the Lion City subway ring line (yellow line) is closer. 3. Spacious, bright, and sanitary: Although the facilities are older, the rooms are spacious and there are windows in the room. The light and ventilation are very good, and they are clean and hygienic. Finally, the key point comes. Manager Cai of Pasir Panjang is very nice. I feel like I'm home when I stay here. This stay was during the period of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. Manager Cai was very concerned about the guests. When I returned to China, I learned that I did not buy a mask. I sent a mask and disinfected wipes to protect me on the way. Really moved, thank you! Thank you Manager Cai!
Fantastic place to stay at affordable price! Booked for just $33/ night . The people who worked are very nice and very helpful. We had requested extra pillows ,good room with good working AC, they are so nice to assist us. as usual. Definitely were booked again this place.
Quite ok with good location and breakfast is voucher from nanyang old coffee house nearby. Self check in didn't work out well and was a bit of a hassle.
Everything here is perfect!
We booked it for a mini-moon right after our solemnisation and was greeted with warmth and surprises! They surprised us a bottle of champagne and a cake for the night!
The service crews were super friendly, thoughtful and always with a smile on! Everybody here was really attentive and the service provide were very guest focused.
The breakfast served was delicious and hearty. We were also served with evening cocktails that comes with light bites and unlimited cocktails to taste! The in room dining we ordered was great too! We could dine at the balcony and it was really romantic.
The overall environment here is serene and pleasant that allows you to recharge and relax. It made us felt like we are overseas in a resort.
A big shoutout and thank you to everyone at The Barracks Hotel for making our mini moon memorable and for all the warmth and hospitality during our stay here.
We love it and definitely returning back again! 💜
As an Ascott group member, there are decent expectations of an Ascott experience in all the properties in which I had once stayed (Ascott, Somerset, Citadines). Citadines Rocher (recently opened in 2020) was one of my top choices in having a local staycation because of its location and price range. However, it was an overall disappointing experience, and here’s why: 1. No daily housekeeping service 2. Our bathroom door could not close. It was completely off the ledge. 3. Reception is busy all the time. Phone calls are often not answered 4. This hotel was most probably a designated hotel used for both Malaysian citizens who were unable to return home due to locked borders, as well as returning Singaporeans to serve their mandatory 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). There were confirmed COVID-19 cases within my period of stay. We were notified by a letter from the management. The least the management could do was to provide a mask or sanitizers to guests. We also chanced upon 2 medical workers fully donned in PPE escorted a guest to the ambulance. Scary stuff. 5. We took our own trash out of the room since day 1 of check-in. It was not cleared even upon checking out. Dear Citadines Rocher, please review your services. I had absolute faith and would like to continue giving my support to Ascott despite this awful stay.
Affordable price & a great place to spend for a night. Cnt expect much but only they should slightly upgrade on certain toleteries or certain things in the room for convenient usage.
Not sound proof wall. Clearly can be heard the neighbour from opposite side doing their project Or maybe they are too loud i guess🤭😆
Overall im satisfied for having a night there. Thank you so much Hotel 81. 👍 Hollywood.
it wasn’t very very nice but it was okay— normal, aircon is very cold for sure which is appreciated so 10/10 for aircon, counter staff is sweet and deserves a raise, wifi is rather slow tbh — tv is okay and shower gets a little cold after awhile
The location of this hotel is definitely not as accessible as all other hotels I went before. It is only easier if you go via car for the first time. Subsequently when you explore the area a bit more, then you can try the path via the UBS building itself. This information perhaps should be made known on the hotel's website. In terms of cleanliness, one of the cups in my room was not washed cleanly. I can see the lipstick mark of a previous user, with some coffee dripping down that lip mark. Had to manually wash it. I would have been more prepared if I brought some detergent along. In terms of service, you must know that they do not provide additional towels for you, even upon request. You can only go and exchange with what you already have. Example, if you need an extra towel to wrap your hair, it is not possible. One room, if 2 pax, they will only give u 2 towels and one floor carpet. I think this is not a good point. The cafe lodge is nicely decorated, just that food have to wait at least 30mins, even if it is a simple set. And not all food are available. But can just chitchat while waiting, or maybe next time just order in advance. The good thing is that at least there is no insect in the room and bed sheets are pretty clean.
Love the food quality and portion just nice! Don’t even have to go out at all of the hotel cos every meal is included! Thanks trip.com for the superb deal which made our anniversary a memorable one!
The pool is great with 2 depths, suitable for our toddler and we love the pool beds and jacuzzi corners!
Too bad gym and pool closes 9pm! I didn’t had time for the gym ahahah
Little to what I know, there is no TV channels available in the room. Checked with reception, due to upgrading works, no channels are available. A little disappointed. As currently have to take away and dine in, there is no extra big bins to throw rubbish. Toilet is not equipped with bidets, so use toilet paper only.
What i like about here is the rain shower and shampoo is provided. Towel and toothbrush is provided too. Complimentary mini-bar for drinks and consumables. Aircon is cold enough to let me wanting to stay indoor than going outdoor. Bed is comfortable with 2 pillow. Location wise is close to any eateries. Middle of 3 MRT station (Bugis, Lavender, Nicoll Highway).
Definitely recommend for a stay. Most importantly, strong wifi. So no TV its okay. Too bad your home Chromecast doesn't work here.
Bilingual receptionist is really a plus point. Adding on, she is polite and well-mannered! Great stay! :) Only downside is that I have to wait for half an hour although the checkin time is way earlier than the time I arrive. Was told that an intern is cleaning the room and the intern will take slightly longer as he/she just started interning.
Love the location - near to Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar! Only one regret is that I do not have the suitable outfit for photo taking...Cheongsam/Peranakan style. View from balcony is gooood and also great for photo taking.
Prewar shophouse with modern facilities - my dream home since young. So I m actually thrilled to stay here.
Pros:
Shiok to shower with strong water flow. Hairdryer provided - great for ladies. Toothbrush & toothpaste, big towel & all-in-one body soap/shampoo provided. They have tissue box, safe, flask & coffee/tea. WiFi connection is good so can surf Internet / Facebook.
Big space in front of bed so can put big luggage. Bed is King/ Queen type. Have small chairs and table. Bigger TV.
Near to lift. Security here is better as guests can enter by tapping with key card.
Cons:
Fridge is mouldy. Not sure when it was last cleaned. 😅
At night, music from pubs nearby can be heard.
(I booked 2 room types - XLtwin & balcony). Please note that $100 deposit is required.
Booked a 2 night stay here for a Valentine's getaway.
Initially thought we definitely had a tub, but found out upon entering the room that not all rooms had tubs. Front desk offered free breakfast throughout the stay as there was no available room for a switch. Breakfast was provided for by Kith Cafe and was delicious.
The kitchen was fully functional, and we utilised it, even the washing machine and dishwasher. Air conditioning system was a bit faulty so the bedroom was quite warm. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Extra pillows were provided as well.
The bathroom was huge with a large shower area (rainfall) and luxury toiletries.
Service was awesome and staff members would always greet us. Pool was beautiful though there were only 2 sunbeds.
Had an enjoyable stay!
Because of pandemic this hostel is full of migrant workers.a lot of curry smell on cloths washing machine.floors and dining table sticky with curry residues.got one rude Chinese uncle at front office pick problem with stayers.if you dont mind all these good luck!
I just loved this hostel. I read the great reviews of this place and booked to stay for 3 nights. As this was my first hostel stay, I was a little skeptic. This is the reason I booked this hostel for only 3 nights out of the 5 that I was in Singapore. My experience- Staff was extremely helpful, when I checked in I asked the kind lady on the counter for veg restaurant suggestions, she looked up Google and wrote me a list of 5 nearby places. I was early and requested for early check in but unfortunately no room was available and I had to wait but that was ok because my overall experience was great.
Room/bed- I am not sure if this is the general case but my roommates were very polite and didn't disturb when someone was sleeping in the room, I reciprocated this gesture. It was so quiet and cozy that I slept like a baby. Washrooms- there were plenty and separate for men and women. I never had to wait in line, there was hair dryer and it was clean overall. Breakfast- there was one freshly made dish like fried rice and cornflake cereals, milk, bread, butter, Nutella, jam etc available. it was all great. Location- hostel was very near to Chinatown as well as mrt(which is in Chinatown) Chinatown is a great location for shopping btw. hostel had mainly Chinese ppl because of the location and I am not Chinese ,so I really like this , after all, you want to meet ppl from different backgrounds when traveling alone. Staff- staff was so polite and helpful. Linda, Daffany were such sweet people.. There was another girl I forgot her name. Thanks to them for my great experience. I highly recommend this place. I also stayed in space capsule pod for next 2 nights and so I think I am in a good position to review this hostel in Singapore.
By coincidence my Singapore trip took place exactly during the Formula 1 weekend. Difficult to find a suitable place and finally ended up here, at the Amazing Inn. Renovation seems in progress already for a long time, so the entrance was a bit messy. Super friendly staff, very helpful. Tiny room but with comfy bed, coffee and tea making facilities, small but clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. Once a checked out, nobody was able to hand me the bill. I asked the lady to send it by email. Even before I arrived at the airport they sent me a copy already. Surroundings at night a bit scary. Illegal cigarette dealers in front of the door and plenty of massage parlors and 'love stores'. In short: I enjoyed my stay here in this cozy place. Will be back for sure.
The room may be small but it has every basic thing you need. I forgot to take any pictures of the room..
Pros
- 10mins walk from Bugis. So obviously food, cafes and entertainment are all within walking distance
- A big 7-11 is just right next to it. Bras Basah & Shine Korea is opposite it
- The Hotel is above a cafe. So if you're feeling lazy to go out for food, you can just go down and eat or call room service and get discounts for some items since you're a hotel guest.
- Shampoo and Body Soap are provided in full sized bottles instead of the mini ones which is always a plus for me.
- Can also rent the Projector Lights to make your room even nicer at nights
Cons
- The entrance is through a cafe. So it can be quite awkward to enter or exit the hotel especially during peak hours cause you're walking past people who are sitting down and eating.
- The room is not soundproof so you can hear conversations or noises outside or from other rooms
Overall, we enjoyed our 3 nights stay. We may come back to try the bigger rooms!
