|1.1km from city centerStaff are amazing. The pool area is clean, rooms cleaned daily however i personally dont know how this hotel is a 4 star 3 at best that is being generous. Beds are the most uncomfortable beds ive ever stayed in, rooms are extremely small, balconies are in adequate can just say squeeze on them. The hotel doesnt get the sun all day which is a shame especially the bottom of the pool however the solarium does get a few extra hours. This hotel caters to a certain nationality which are so rude and personally put me off and it was like a care home majority of the guests are 60 and over. First and last visit to this part of Tenerife sadly i would 100% not recommend and will be sticking with the South. Location of the hotel is good theres a nice walk to town, beach is pretty close and Loro Park is within walking distance but still isnt enough to make me return. Food isnt the best either, freezing cold and not a lot of variety. If you like fish you will always have something to eat not a lot of meat served up, breakfast is the same everyday. Some meals were nice but found breakfast and dinner were the worst.

|0.68km from city centerThis was our third stay at Hotel Botanico, and we felt like we were returning 'home' after a gap of 2 years because of Covid. This is such a beautiful hotel, in a stunning, peaceful garden setting. The rooms are excellent, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful swimming pools and amazing spa facilities. There are lots of restaurants and bistros very close by, as well as the hotel's own restaurants, and a shuttle bus leaves for the main port just a 10 minute ride, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops etc. Jet 2 holidays were efficient, helpful, and all the arrangements worked.

Spotlessly clean, great facilities, wonderful staff, food ok for the type of property BUT there is this weird “privilege” ranking for guests that absolutely ruined the experience. You pay a premium rate to stay here. In our case we spent more to upgrade our room but then found that there is a two tier system applied. In essence, premium guests sit in a mezzanine restaurant looking down on the plebs. We are served singles glasses of wine and spend every meal trying to catch the eye of over worked waiters to ask for another. We had to sit in the same garden restaurant for lunch (again segregated seating) watching them have an extensive menu of what looks to be, lovely food whilst our options were rubbish burgers, hot dogs or other cheap and poorly prepared other choices. I cannot describe how humiliating this was and we have never felt so poorly treated. I’m certain that the stock response from the hotel will be “we are sorry but hope you’ll come again etc.” Well we won’t- there are plenty of terrific hotels that TUI offer that make you feel appreciated- H10 don’t with this ridiculous segregation, so my advice is to choose another or, if you feel drawn by the location - go B&B and take advantage of the many local bars and restaurants.

|0.72km from city centerI stayed here for 4 nights. I had a nice holiday apart from becoming ill from the dinner at the hotel. When entering my room it was spacious for myself. The only thing that surprised me was there was no fridge! It would have been nice to keep my drinks cool. Other than that the room was great. Housekeeping were also excellent. The food at breakfast was alright plenty of choice for everyone. Some foods were overcooked and dry. I booked half board and the foods available at dinner was ok but just like breakfast some foods again slightly overcooked. However during the night I became ill and had sickness and diarrhoea, this was definitely from eating the dinner as the rest of the day I felt absolutely fine. When I was better the next day I had breakfast from the hotel and ate out elsewhere in the evening and was fine. On the final day I came to my hotel room after spending last few hours in the area and noticed my keycard wasn’t working. Unaware of this it was deactivated due to checkout time being at 12pm. I was unaware of this until asking reception to activate my card again. One of the ladies at reception was quite rude she said jet2 (who I used) should have told me, I said it was more yourselves some form of communication about this would have been nice. The hotel is beautiful especially looking onto the pool area and seeing the palm trees. It is in a perfect distance to the beach literally across the road. If I was to stay in the area again I’d come back here but just only for bed and breakfast.

Having read through multiple reviews, we (26, young professionals) arrived with the lowest expectations and were pleasantly surprised before even walking though the door. The location? Perfect. Incredible accessibility to excursions to get out and about around the island. Cleanliness? Impeccable. Staff? Patient and kind throughout our stay. The variety of breakfast and dinner was also wide and suited us fine. While sea-facing views do tend to have some noise from the bars below, this tended to shut off around 11pm. We had some cheap foam earplugs which did the trick if we wanted an earlier night. The views are wonderful (picture attached). Our only point of contention - the cocktails are bad. Bring your own drinks to the pool (discreetly) or head to the Gramophone round the corner for a good mixed drink. The fact that people have written that no young people should come here baffles us. We had a fabulous time. Value for money has been fantastic. We had a great time and hope to be back soon.

|0.58km from city centerI stayed for 9 nights in this hotel in December 2023. My transfer to the resort was significantly delayed, over 4 hours, so I arrived tired & hungry. I went to Reception to check in & was told my room had been upgraded to include a balcony, I was also provided with 2 bags of food courtesy of the hotel as they were aware I was running late, sandwiches, fruit & water. I was surprised by this gesture but absolutely delighted. From that moment on I continued to be welcomed & felt the warmth of the staff, from the bar staff, kitchen staff & cleaning staff, everyone was courteous & friendly & made the hotel feel like my home for the 9 nights. The rooms are very clean, an older more authentic look to them but I fell in love with the place. The fridge worked which was good news too! The breakfast in the morning was excellent & plenty of choice. There was entertainment on at night, most of it was very good. The hotel does a deal where you can drink local alcohol & hot drinks for €14 per day (min 3 days), it was excellent value. I spent my birthday at the hotel & arrived back to my room to a card from the staff & a bottle of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was made to feel very welcome. One word of warning…the hotel is a 15-20 walk from the beach & it’s a reasonably steep descent / ascent so it is tough on the legs…I’m 44 & of a medium fitness level & I found it tiring, so be aware of that.

|0.64km from city centerWe were the second couple to arrive since the big refurbishment. We had a room on the 4th floor which had the only completed rooms. More people arrived after us. I have to say that we will be back as soon as we can. The staff from the manager down are superb and really friendly. Our room was really comfortable with an excellent bed and bedding. The towels and everything are top quality and to be honest I am surprised that it is only rated at 3*. We would have rated it much higher. I can only assume that it will rise as will the prices when the refurbishment is finished. The breakfast is the best anywhere we have been and we travel a lot. It’s worth paying the extra. Location is perfect. Away from the multi story mass hotels but close enough to all the restaurants to be convenient. I could write more but I am sure that if you are reading this you will have had enough. Book this hotel for your stay. You will not be disappointed but don’t come next March. I would hate it to be fully booked and unable to get a room!

|0.9km from city centerSpent a week here and loved it! I had read reviews before booking, and I can confirm this place is great. Every single member of the staff are really friendly and helpful l, always greeting you with a smile (well I think it was a smile - bit hard to tell with the masks). Our apartment was spotless (as was everywhere else), with really comfortable beds, lovely shower, good kitchenette facilities and plenty of channels in a variety of languages if you want to watch a bit of TV or listen to the radio when you're in. Good WiFi reception throughout. Great choice at breakfast, to cater for pretty much everyone, with staff that constantly refresh the buffet and keep the tables clean. The pool area is fantastic and so relaxed - it's like a little bit of paradise that catches the sun all day, with the pool surrounded by grass, trees and lots of colourful plants and flowers. There's plenty of places to eat and drink and shops nearby. The main town is about 15-20 minute downhill stroll, and the taxi back is only a few euro if you don't fancy the uphill walk. I did see 1 review saying that there was no security, and while I can't comment on that, there was security of a night-time during our stay (and we saw a guard checking our corridor 1 night. It has been 23 years since I was last in Tenerife (I lived and worked in las americas for many years), and I wasn't bothered about going back, because 'I've been there, done that', but Puerto de la Cruz is totally different to the south of the island, so I would totally recommend this hotel if you want to see a more relaxed side to Tenerife. Put it this way, I very rarely go to the same country/island more than once (let alone the same hotel), because there are so many places in the world that I want to see, but I have already booked up for September - admittedly, that's partly because the cable car at Teide was closed, and my partner was dying to go up there, but we still could have chose a different resort/hotel. If I did have to point a negative, it would be there wasn't any English tea at breakfast (being typical British🤣), but we just brought our own down, so not exactly a inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Plus there's plenty of choice of other teas, coffees etc.

|1.11km from city centerI will try to give a fair review, since we spent 10 days there and spent a wonderful time. The hotel was the only....not minus, but the weak point. Starting with the good and positive points: The breakfast is good. Is great for a 3 starts hotel. is nothing missing. The great point is the terace near the pool, very nice, full of flowers, breakfast was a joy every morning. The pool (for those that spent time at the pool (never understood why when you have the ocean and the beach near...) ) is great, big enough to swimm. The room is average, normal for a 3 stars hotel, clean, nice balcony (we had a 1st floor room) big confortable bathroom. The only, but important, bad point was the missing of the airconditioning. In August when we were there in the room was each night 30 degC. we slept with balcony door fully opned and a fan running, was really not nice. But, I guess, if you do not stay in July - August is ok. I would definetly reccomend the hotel, except Augut.

There is a supermarket a few minutes walk and lots of bars, cafes and restaurants with 2-15 minutes walk. The beach is also only around 5-10minutes walk Puerto de la Cruz is a beautiful place itself but is very quiet and we struggled to find bars with music and entertainment. Overall lovely hotel and great staff but would not go back as there isn't much going on for me

|0.39km from city centerThis hotel needs to decide whether it wants to remain a 4 star establishment or a youth hostel. Our visit was ruined by hordes of teenagers from various schools. They kept us awake during the nite running up and down the corridors banging on doors. We complained twice to reception and was told a manager would come up to our room to speak to us ...this never happened. The staff did nothing to recity complaints. The dining room felt like a school canteen. It was loud and crowded. If you are looking for rest and relaxation avoid this hotel. The food was average certainly not 4 star and often stone cold. On a positive note the rooms were extremely clean and there are lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. If you have mobility issues then this the hotel is not for you as its on an extremely steep hill.

|1.28km from city centerWe spent 6 lovely days at the Hotel Las Aguilas Tenerife. The hotel is clean and comfortable. All the staff here are very friendly and speak several languages. We stayed in a suite which was comfortable and clean. We went all inclusive and the variety of foods available at meal times was wide, catering for all needs and preferences. There is a free bus which takes you down into Puerto de la Cruz and back if you want to walk along the beautiful harbour and coast, or see the town. There is evening entertainment every night in a comfortable bar. There is a separate pool area for those over 14 if you prefer a more peaceful time by the pool. The main pool is very clean and lifeguarded the whole time it is open. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The doors slam in the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and there is no way to sleep, you have to forget about lying in, the swimming pool is small but has the merit of existing.

|0.81km from city centerThe location of the hotel is good, the room type has a large balcony and kitchen, facing the downstairs square, it is also very lively at night, 24 hours front desk service, there are two buildings, one building is estimated to be a long-term tenant (the building where the front desk is located), the other The building is a hotel room, and the house numbers in the two buildings are the same. . . Go back to the front desk and find an employee to take to the hotel building. The service is not bad.
There are 2 other points to be noted by the hotel and Ctrip:
1. The location of the hotel (front desk) is different from that of google, and there is no mark on the door of the front desk; there is a large hotel sign on the other side of the building (Figure 1), but there is no entrance; on the other side (google positioning point) there is a A very small H sign. After entering, go around the maze and turn back to the front desk position. In fact, the front desk location is in the parking lot. It is not easy to find the front desk location by pulling the luggage around.
2. The child policy is different from the reservation page. Children who do not have an extra bed written on the reservation page are free of charge. When the check-in is done, the front desk says no, but later they say nothing. They checked in directly and gave a 3-bed room without adding an extra. money. When booking European hotels, the age of children is filled in clearly according to the reservation rules. In particular, children's policies are paid attention to, and the corresponding room types are selected according to the rules. Obviously, there are still some discrepancies between the information on the reservation page of some hotels and Ctrip. Ctrip and hotels need to have clear rules to avoid trouble.

|0.75km from city centerBooked a ”cheap deal” through LoveHolidays. 37 years since I was last in Puerto de la Cruz, so did not know what to expect. The hotel itself has plenty of character, although the general state of it is a little shabby and worn. No matter though, as room I had was very clean and comfortable beds (with very small balcony on 4th floor). Problem with water leaking from the shower screen, which I reported early on but was not fixed, meaning the bathroom floor got very wet and I had to use the bathmat every time I had a shower to soak up the water. As it left the floor wet, could be dangerous if someone slipped on it. Having said that, rest of facilities made-up for that one weakness. Fairly reasonable buffet breakfast included; great rooftop terrace for sunbathing, with a small pool (only about 5 metres by 4); very nice hard-working staff, especially the waiters/waitresses and the maids; great outdoor terrace with smoking area where you could have meals as well as a more formal outside eating area; great ”live” musician (singer with guitar) singing some traditional Spanish songs, which, for me, was very nice to relax to in the evenings before going for dinner, with an acceptable glass of Canarian house white wine; and is in a fantastic location in the Old Town near many sights and only a few minutes walk to many different shops, to some very good restaurants and the Rooftop Bar just around the corner - see my coming reviews for these. So is not a ”fancy, plush” hotel, but one with great charm and is such good value with all its advantages of facilities, location etc

|0.74km from city centerRecently stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights (16th to 19th January) in a fabulous location overlooking the beach and surrounding area of Puerto de la Cruz. We booked a Superior Room with Sea View and were not disappointed. Fabulous views from our balcony. Very welcoming staff on Reception, beautiful well maintained grounds, beautiful roof top pool area with adjoining Restaurant. First class food great quality in Restaurant and buffet breakfast (absolutely everything you could ask for and so fresh) locally produced. Rooftop Restaurant for lunch was fabulous. Menus extensive and all cooked fresh. Restaurant Staff Exceptional, courteous and friendly. Plenty of room around the pool, and no-one getting up early to bag a bed. Top Class Hotel and Staff. Just one minor point to make and this is not a criticism, we would like tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It's just our personal preference to get up early in the morning and sit on the beautiful balcony watching the world go buy listening to the waves crash with a cup of tea or coffee before going down to the fabulous breakfast buffet. Stayed in room 620 ideal for reception/pool (level 7) and restaurant (level five) the hotel is spotless the staff are excellent and the sound of the sea each evening is soothing. Tips The hotel is a bit of a distance to the main town it’s very hilly and we only went down once you can walk a kind of cliff path but it’s full of stairs which after a while kills you and gets very tedious. Go out of the hotel walk to the top road go right and you will see a walkway with steps follow them down (they are called the Agatha Christie steps as there is a statue as she had a house there each step has a book title on them) just keep following the road down to the sea front loads of shops and restaurants plus the lido ( which is due to open soon) you can either walk back or get a taxi (4/5 euros) we didn’t bother going again as the Main Street above the hotel had many bar’s restaurants and shops very reasonable priced excellent service not much of a party time if you like that kind of thing down town will be better for you. Food Breakfast is amazing plenty of choice and easy to get through Evening meal got board quickly so used only a couple of times drinks expensive and didn’t approve they charged for water you pay for drinks on the way out or you can charge money to your room and top up when it runs out we preferred to pay as we go drinks wise we preferred to eat out and give to local family business etc. The pool The rule is no personal towels you need to hire them from reception ten euros (refundable with receipt) to change for fresh one one euro exchange but we found we could use both our own and the hotels the reason they like you to use them to show that you are staying there and haven’t sneaked in. The bar is good very professional service. The room Lovely views over the sea the bathroom has been the best I have ever had abroad lives the multi shower lights and the screen window trick great fun to play with tv is crap so we always take a fire stick power lead and remote control Wi-Fi is very good the codes allow two devices per ticket but you can have as many as you like we had three tablets two phones and a fire stick don’t forget to put in the code for your fire stick to make it work you might not get every thing you get at home but it’s better than the tv without it We booked with jet2 excellent transfers etc the excursions we booked was the body trip up the side of the island we managed to see whales and dolphins I do warn it will be a long day 11.45 we left and didn’t get back until eight pm if you don’t like rough conditions sea wise this trip might not be for you as four plus hours on a boat feeling sea sick isn’t much fun there is chance to swim off the boat the food was a bit naff not to everyone’s taste take a jumper it can start to get cold. |0.75km from city centerWanted to be sure as possible of a good break after a harrowing year so I read many hundreds of reviews before selecting the Monopol for a two week stay in March, and I am delighted I did! The perfect location and architecture are already well covered so I will move straight on to the negative issues raised in other reviews of which most (though not all) turned out to be unfounded. Like any hotel which never closes its doors the rooms, by necessity, are refurbished on a rotating basis. The room I was given was clearly recently renovated, lovely shower and plenty of storage, basic but attractive furniture and two single beds pushed together. No kettle, limited tv channels and poor in-room wi-fi (free wi-fi works perfectly in the beautiful patio area) but for a 3* hotel a lovely room all round. A special thank you to the cleaning staff who did a wonderful job and made me feel so at home! Despite being close to the old centre, crowd noise was never an issue. The hotel is not really on a main thoroughfare and the excellent street music was never intrusive. The church does chime the quarter hours from 7 am till 11pm but after a couple of days is just seemed to fade into the pleasant ambience. Rooms not facing the church would probably barely hear it. The free breakfast buffet is copious and extensive, but I think even Oliver would decide that one serving was enough. As a Brit I have to say that the bacon was an affront to the pig that provided it, and the sausage (if indeed it could be classed as sausage) an abomination. Plenty of fresh fruit and various cheese and processed meat slices if that’s your thing. Unlimited cereals to top up on as a backstop. Bread is thoughtfully provided stale for easy toasting. Coffee and juice machines are actually quite good, though busy even in the quiet period of my visit. There is a restaurant, the ‘Don Carlos’ which operates in a portion of the hotel and is clearly associated with it, but which the hotel seems reluctant to acknowledge. Understandably perhaps as it is a total tourist trap, leeching off the hotels beautiful location and providing awful, overpriced meals to passing trade (I suspect they probably have the breakfast contract). There are 50 better dining places within a 10 minute walk. But (rant over) I would recommend the Monopol unreservedly as the perfect base for a visit to Puerto de la Cruz for those who are not looking for a 24-hour Ibiza type experience or a luxury spa hotel with hot and cold running flunkies. For £1000 a week more you would perhaps get a better breakfast and probably a kettle, but you would find yourself in a characterless chrome and glass citadel perched high above the town, isolated from the beautiful beach and downtown area by a gruelling 30-minute hike. It is said that location is everything and the best location in Puerto de le Cruz is the Monopol hotel.

|0.79km from city centerWhat a wonderful hotel, I will definitely come back. The hotel is immaculate and the cleaners definitely earn their money. I was lucky enough to have a lovely room with a view of the sea and the mountains. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I stayed for two weeks and cleaners came in every day. The pools were lovely, I regularly hired a daybed which I thought was great value, for 30euros you got a round cushioned bed with shade and then 2 cocktails, a bottle of cava and a fruit platter. I only had breakfast in the hotel but again that was excellent quality. You could have omelettes cooked fresh, there was so much to choose from, I’m already missing my breakfasts!! I used the gym regularly which was good, I would go down first thing which seemed to be a quiet time. Staff in the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, especially the man on reception. It was an amazing two weeks I will be back ☺️

I don't write reviews, generally speaking, but at the reception of the Tenerife hotel check-in Concordia playa of the Canary Islands, Alba, at the reception was truly fantastic, empathetic and extremely professional at a critical moment of my holiday. Unfortunately I had to advance my flight to return home and she was truly invaluable for everything, including finding a transfer to the airport which was very difficult to find because everyone was fully booked. Alba was really super professional, she managed to pay attention to me to solve my problem and at the same time she awaited the requests of other hotel guests. She was really great. Not all hotel receptionists would have had the same professional attention and care to the customers. Thanks so mucho Alba. I wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best.

|0.81km from city centerThe hotel, being from the 1970's, is a bit worn out, but generally kept tidy and clean. It is what you expect when booking a 3-star hotel in this part of the world. The apartments have the basic necessities and a small kitchenette with a 2-plate stove, fridge/freezer and microwave oven. No toaster, but a kettle can be borrowed free of charge at the reception. The staff is friendly and attentive. We pointed out a few issues with the room, which were fixed within an hour. The swimming pool (heated( is very large, and there is a also a smaller childrens pool. There is the typical circus with the battle of the sunchairs starting a 9am, when the pool deck is opened. As is often the case, guests reserve chairs by putting their towels on them, and then disappearing for hours. A practice which is explicitly forbidden by the hotel, but accepted nevertheless. We never visited the restaurant, but every single guest we spoke to was deeply disappointed by the quality and quantity of the food ... or lack thereof. As you might have guessed, it's buffet only. So if you are staying, don't book the food package. There are lots of very good restaurants in Puerto de la Cruz center, which is a 15-minute walk away. Returning (uphill) is a 5 EUR taxi ride. In the immediate vicinity you will find the obligatory shops selling straw hats, swimming gear, postcards and other tourist items. Most of the restaurants/cafes just outside are of questionable quality. Go the the city center ... at least in the evening.

It has excellent staff levels (all smile and have a friendly 'can do' attitude - it says a lot about the ownership and management), very good food offered in the restaurant, and is set in nice gardens with quiet terraces and childrens play area. It has three swimming pools, massage and wellness services. It is set back up the hillside from the busy commercial and sea front area but has a shuttle bus if you don't fancy the fairly steep walk down/back up. We have been here a week and have another yet to come but I have a feeling we will be back. We wholly recommend this hotel.

It was not without fault- when we arrived the receptionist was lovely, but our room smelt as people had smoked there and covered the smoke alarm. We returned to reception who quickly upgraded us and we keen to help. The room we were transferred to had comfortable beds and air conditioning The pool outside is far bigger than the photos suggest, my daughter and I had a great time as my wife relaxed by the pool bar. The barman they hired was also very friendly and helpful We had half board and I've stayed in many places with inclusive food. The food was fresh every day with a great selection. I don't know what people are complaining about but compared to some places I have stayed, at Pez Azul the food was fresh, varied and interesting. The reception also helpfully sells 5L bottled water for a good price, saving any hassle of going out to buy it. We would stay here again.

|0.34km from city centerApartment is very comfortable room, with balcony and table, indoor table, all kitchen comfort. Family is done almost every day. Very clean, very friendly staff, including at the reception.
We were next to the restaurant on the floor, so a little noise in the evening, but next to enjoy the animations. The residence is well placed to walk in the city, car parked outside at a maximum of 5 minutes in adjacent streets.

|1.23km from city centerHotel Clean and tidy, quick check in and Friendly staff, positioned a couple of mins over the road to a nice black beach. Pool area not mega large but clean with free sunbeds. Might be a little busy in season but was perfect when we were here recently. Entertainment in the bar area is just a guy with a guitar or a keyboard playing Spanish/English classics and seemed to attract ballroom dancers and we enjoyed watching this but don’t be expecting anything amazing. Breakfast had a good choice (everything from full English to pastries, bread and fruit but everything that should be warm was cold even at busy times. There is a microwave to heat it up though. Pastries were stale although the bread seemed nice and fresh. Our room had a sea view which at the moment is a view of a building site and football pitch. They started work pretty early on a morning and if your a light/late sleeper could disturb you. Until this work is finished I’d suggest a Mountain View. It’s about a 15/20 pleasant walk into the main area but there are a few restraints and bars close by. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.
