New to VRBO, but an experienced host. The property, which is a grade II listed building, has one bedroom and an adjacent shower room, both with beautiful views over the village below. Enjoy slipping into the beautifully comfy bed after a hard day's exploring and all towels are provided for your comfort. We also have a travel cot and children's toys and kitchen equipment should you need it. The newly renovated apartment which nestles into the hillside in one of the most historic parts of the town, used to be part of a row of weavers cottages. It is now an utterly charming and romantic 1 bedroom self-catering holiday cottage. Take a stroll along the row of cottages to the church of St. Mary Tory or down the warren of quaint steps and across the bridge into town. Further afield lies bath, stonehenge, longleat, wells, the cotswolds, cheddar and numerous national trust properties as well as canal and river walks nearby. On a sunday morning listen to the chorus of church bells or the steam train blowing its horn on the way through the valley. The kitchen is well equipped and you'll never tire of looking out of the window across the charming bath-stone rooftops to the westbury white horse painted into the hillside. The walled garden makes for a restful retreat after a busy day of exploring the many local charms and feel free to raid the herb garden if you are keen on cooking. With the charming town of Bradford-on-Avon on your doorstep and the Georgian city of Bath close by as well as Longleat, Stonehenge, Castle Combe and many more great attractions you won't be short of things to do. Equipped to a high standard with pocket sprung mattresses, crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels the Old Chapel provides a great base from which to explore.The Chapel is situated on the Bath side of Bradford-on-Avon in a tucked away location. It is a lovely quiet spot in an historic row of stone cottages. Parking (which is unrestricted) is on a nearby minor road and although there is a narrow road in front of the Chapel it is not advisable to drive down it as it is very easy to get stuck! It is only a 50m walk from the parking to the front door. You can easily walk to the town centre which is approximately a 15 minute walk, downhill. Please be aware that it is a steep walk back up the hill. Alternatively you could take a bus or taxi. There are a couple of pubs 5-10 minutes walk away, without having to walk down into town. The Castle also serves breakfast. There is an excellent Co-Op supermarket 5 minutes walk away which is open everyday from 6am to 10pm. On the ground floor is the kitchen/diner and living room. The kitchen is well equipped; from kitchen scales and sharp knives to garlic crushers and hand mixer. There is an induction hob, electric fan assisted oven, cooker hood, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, small microwave and coffee machine. The sitting room, has a TV, DVD player, comfortable sofa and armchair and is perfect for relaxing in the evening in front of the gas effect fire. There is a cupboard containing a few board games, children's toys, DVD's and novels. The first floor has a shower room with toilet, basin and shower and a bedroom with kingsize bed, floor length curtains and black out curtains. . On the second floor there are two single (3ft) beds which can be made into a superking. There are black-out blinds on the velux windows and reading lights next to the bed. The bed linen is all high quality cotton. The bath and hand towels are all thick, white and fluffy. The house is gas centrally heated.I like my guests to feel completely at home, and so the cupboards are stocked with basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil for cooking.
