I was in town for 2 day mosaic class less than a mile from the Motel 6. I travel with my dog so the location and dog policy were great. It is right on the Estuary across from the Coast Guard Station. My room faced the water. (#143) and I had fantastic sunsets every day. If you have not stayed in a Motel 6 before, come prepared. You need shampoo and a coffee pot. My room looked newly renovated. Staff was fantastic!

We rented the Lighthouse meeting room for our recent board meeting event, and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. The hotel provided the projector, screen and audio, set up the room with lovely tables and seating, and all we had to do was plug our laptop in to run the meeting. The room is very comfortable and has a sliding glass door that opens to bring in fresh air, with a beautiful view of the water and estuary. The event coordinator and all of the hotel staff are friendly and assisted us with all of our many requests throughout the reservation process. Highly recommended.

I am a Best Western Rewards member, and our stay at the Bayside Hotel in Oakland is one of the many reasons why. My brother drove my sister and I down from Eureka, CA, to catch our plane in Oakland; I booked a night at the Bayside as it was close to the airport and my sister and I were flying out early. Because my brother has a service dog, I asked for a first-floor room, near an exit door, so as not to inconvenience other guests (since they don't normally accept pets). WOW!! We ended up with a king-size bed, bay view, and a patio door that opened out directly to the greenspace just in back of the hotel!! It was a MARVELOUS room, very spacious and plenty of room for the three of us to spread out and relax before my sister and I had to go to the airport. My brother said the complimentary breakfast the next morning was yummy, and the wi-fi access (so necessary for his business) was fast and easy. He even used the in-house gym room! Many, MANY thanks to Jay and Faye at the front desk: Jay, for answering my questions about service animals, and for giving us tips on where to pick up a quick dinner before the airport; Faye, for checking us in and being so sweet about accommodating my brother's service dog. There are so many options for lodging on the road, and what keeps us coming back to Best Western are the quality of the rooms, the amenities offered, and--most of all, and most important--the FABULOUS people who staff the hotels. Everyone, from reservations to check-out, is committed to our having a marvelous stay, and because of their efforts, we have a great time! Thank you all so much!!

Booked in a two-bedroom apartment suite, there are two rooms, each with a double bed and bathroom, a kitchen and living room in the middle, a microwave oven with a microwave oven, and a cup, plate and dishware. Very suitable for family living. There is a big bird on the tree outside the small balcony. There are many yachts in the small bay. Walking along the front road to the right, there is a German restaurant, German sausage and beer taste really good. The hotel's free breakfast is OK. Three kinds of sausages are eaten a day. One day there are bacon patties sausages, milk cereals, homemade waffles, and several kinds of bread jams. Originally, I wanted to live in San Francisco, but I said that the roads in the city are relatively ups and downs, the one-way line is complicated, and the parking cost is high. So I live in Auckland. It is convenient to drive the Auckland Bridge to San Francisco for two consecutive days. I found a Guilin rice noodle shop nearby in the evening, and it tastes so good! ! !

Located close by San Francisco Bay and a major shopping center and next to a bowling alley, this motel is old enough to be almost retro! The bathrooms have their original formica tops and the ceilings are the old popcorn spray on type.....and there is a pay phone in the lobby. It has clean, quiet, very spacious rooms each with kitchenette and free parking. There is pool. The free breakfast is skimpy. WiFi is weak, but works.Staff is attentive.Located at the end of Alameda's main drag. It is a good buy, especially with kids, for the inexpensive room rate.

I would have rated this property 5 stars except for the check-in problems. This property only takes chip credit cards at check-in, nothing else. If you want to pay another way you can cancel your reservation and make a new one on Expedia; which didn't work for me as I am a Wyndham Rewards member. This policy was not mentioned to me while personally making my reservation with a front desk agent or when I received my email confirmation. Luckily I was able to find a card to pay with but it was not ideal for business purposes

This worked out at about half the cost of a small hotel room in SF. Stayed for 6 nights. A good choice. Room was modern, clean, comfortable and well serviced. Reception friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. Location was good for motorists - next to major road intersection and just off the freeway. Also very good if you're relying on pubic transport. BART MacArthur is 5 minutes walk - could be downtown SF within 20 minutes of walking out of my room - which is better than staying in a budget hotel in SF where road traffic at peak times really holds you up. Location seemed safe enough to me. Overall I was very satisfied with the place and would definitely stay again.

Stayed here the night before going to Las Vegas for a Birthday getaway. Our flight left at 6:00am so it was easier to stay close to the airport so we could sleep a little longer. I made the reservation only a few days in advance with the option of park and fly it was a great deal and I am an IHG member. The hotel is very clean, parking area nice, safe area and they also have a fenced in area you can park your car as well. Our room was spotless, very clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Large bathroom and great water pressure in the shower. The room had a safe, coffee maker, small fridge, microwave, dresser, small couch, and a desk. Felt very comfortable there, and we had a room facing the parking lot and airport. They offer shuttle to the airport, you just provide them the time you need the shuttle upon check in, the airport is 5 minutes away. They will also pick you up upon your return and take you to your car. You just call them when you get to the pickup location or when getting your bags and walking to the pickup location. Easy and most convenient. I would stay here again and use the parking option, the price can't be beat. At the entry and exit of the hotel they have the arm things that go up and down, as you get a ticket upon arrival. Our car was fine while we were gone for 3 days. People at the hotel and shuttle driver very friendly as well.

Arrived at Oakland Airport from Honolulu at 11:30pm with a flight out the next day at 6:30am. Decided to make a reservation at the Holiday Inn and Suites Oakland Airport even though there was only a short stay. Called the hotel on arrival and asked about a shuttle, we were advised to get our bags and give a call back it would be about 5minutes. Good to their word, we got bags called and the shuttle with a wonderful driver/gentleman was there to pick us up and get us to the hotel within 5-10minutes. The desk clerk couldn't have been nicer and quickly got us checked in and the shuttle driver was kind enough to bring our bags to the room saving us the trouble. Knowing we had to be back at the airport by 5:30am we asked about the shuttle, no problem just be in the lobby 10minutes beforehand. It was amazing the room was very clean and comfortable, the wakeup call on time and at 5:15am the same shuttle driver got us back to the Oakland Airport in 5-10 minutes again taking great care of us and our bags. Terrific experience and wonderful service.

We booked a stay at Oakland Airport Executive Hotel through Hotels.com based on images and amenities. What an absolute disgrace of a hotel. The hotel is dirty, the staff is rude, and the place did not feel safe.  Our first impression was regarding the shuttle service. We called and were told to wait at 4B at the airport. We waited 30 minutes and no shuttle had arrived. We called the hotel and the person said she would check and said we should be at 4G. I mentioned she said 4B and she said "ok stay there." After 15 more minutes the shuttle arrived. (I can almost guarantee our first call was never relayed) We were dropped at the hotel to have a mess of flies in the lobby, and sheets on the lobby floor with water stains all over The attendant was named Rio or something like that. She checked us in and told us we would be by the pool. "Go out those double doors and turn right." We go out and only see a cement wall by the pool. We go back in to ask directions. The shuttle driver takes us out around the pool to the back wings of the hotel through an isolated parking lot! Those sections were never mentioned on the website. I have an 11 year old daughter and it felt very unsafe. We went in the building that smelled of smoke and *********. My daughter begins to cry as we locate the room. We were tired from traveling but as a mom I could not have my child in this hotel. We grabbed our bags and went to the lobby to check out. I gave the keys to the attendant and said we were checking out. I told her we didn't feel safe and she shrugged her shoulders. Oh that was the last straw. This hotel is misrepresenting itself on hotels.com. It is apalling to be put in those back wings. They are not safe. The hotel is dirty, the staff is rude, and the place did not feel safe. Never ever again would I set foot in that place!

My daughter and I stayed here for a short stay (Friday-Sunday). The first night was okay. Check in went smoothly and we went to eat at the restaurant. The food was mediocre (by our standards coming from LA). The restaurant service was pretty good, but we had to wait for quite a long time to order dessert and finally get out of there. It went downhill from here. The next night (Saturday) we came back to our hotel room at 10pm to discover they were hosting a private event with live music. Now, I’m not an old lady. I don’t usually complain about noise, especially on the weekend and before midnight, but this was next level. The music was so loud that even the tv couldn’t drown it out. The floors and beds were vibrating from the base. Thankfully, they ended that at 11 on the dot and switched to recorded music, which we could still hear, but eventually I fell asleep to. Unfortunately, I was woken up at midnight by the party goers coming up to our floor and hanging out in the hallway for 20 minutes laughing, talking loudly, and even letting a dog run around. I called down to the front desk and the man answered that he had already sent up security, but obviously that wasn’t enough, so he would go up himself. I appreciated that at least and by 12:30 I could go back to bed. The damage was already done though because it was Mother’s Day the next day and we had to get up by 8am for the breakfast we had preordered. That was also 30 minutes late as well and the order was wrong. Everything was corrected, but I feel like overall, for a 5 star hotel I should t have to be calling down as much as I did to have problems addressed.

You know when everything just falls into place perfectly? That was how my stay was at the Springfield Marriott. I called only a couple hours before my stay for a feather free room. It was ready when I  checked in. The night staff (2 gentlemen, I didn't get their names) were very kind and welcoming. The room was clean, modern, and functional. I loved the fridge and microwave. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. The young man who presided over the next morning's breakfast buffet was kind and patient. He even went out of his way to brew an additional pot of coffee though it was time for him to break down the buffet and clean. I don't even drink coffee but was so impressed with his kindness. He also checked on me several times and offered fruit even though I arrived late. Upon checking out I had a fantastic conversation with Trish. She was so lovely and when I off handedly mention today was my birthday, she gave me a little present that completely made my day! Wow, I'm so very impressed and this was a fantastic start of my birthday. Thank you Springhill Suites, I will most definitely return. A Marriott Bonvoy Member

I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay. I spoke w/ the front desk manager & with many other staff during my stay at this location. This turned what was supposed to be an exciting, exploratory visit to Oakland for house hunting, into a bit of a drag and disappointment. I have outlined some of my feedback below as I think this should be addressed on a larger level so that others do not have the same experience as us. First, I am FUMING irritated by how I was treated by the valet at this hotel. It happened twice in the same evening, with the same person. He was rude, talked down to me about how to speak to the valet staff about how I need my car to be parked, and had extreme attitude, after making me move my own car several times because he was overwhelmed. This is unacceptable. I have driven cars in hundreds of hotels both in and out of the U.S. and I am not about to be talked down to by a valet attendant. The hotel itself. This hotel needs help. The bathroom is dirty and broken down. We had a tile loose above our bed that made us nervous to sleep and the floors were pretty gross in the bathroom. It was an extremely warm weekend in Oakland and our room was so warm and the AC was not working properly. We had to call and have a fan brought to our room because we couldn’t sleep. Also we had a lot of issues with the television not working on the internet. So had major limitations on working Netflix etc. The hotel service. We needed plates and silverware for take out one night. We had been out house hunting until later in the evening and we called for plates/silverware. I took nearly an hour to get these items to our room and we had to call more than once. We also requested our room to be serviced on Saturday (we called earlier in the morning to double check they would be coming). We had a stain on our sheets we wanted changed. We arrived back at the hotel later around 9pm after another day of house hunting to find our room completely untouched and unchanged. It was so frustrating because we were exhausted. This time I decided to speak to the manager on duty (who was friendly and understanding) but again had to call more than once because of the delays. Our room did not end up fully changed until 11pm. We stayed in Oakland because we are relocating back to the Bay Area and wanted to check out the East Bay and in particular Oakland, Rockridge and the Oakland hills. This is nowhere near the welcome we expected and was a major turn off to Oakland. Ya’ll need to get it together.

The stay was absolutely pleasurable. The staff was more than accommodating and helpful. I would assuredly visit and stay with this location in the future! Upon arrival, I received a nifty sheet with local restaurants, bars, and other attractions. The staff had a fire alarm issue when I arrived, but overly accommodated for the slight inconvenience. Regardless of that, the staff wasn't overbearing, such as I've seen with other establishments.

During Ctrip's stay of 21/7 to 24/7 for three nights, I was told that Ctrip had no reservations, because I arrived at the hotel at 10:30 in the evening, contacted Ctrip, and was tossed for 3 hours. Finally, Ctrip helped. I booked another Hilton hotel and had to rush to stay for one night. I booked this hotel for the other two nights. This Ctrip service attitude is still very good, admit that I did not book a hotel, the final solution is also satisfactory, but I still hope that Ctrip is not making such mistakes, after all, in the middle of the night can stay in the hotel, the angry feeling can be imagined And know. Let's talk about this hotel, the staff service is very good, the hotel is clean and hygienic, it is very convenient to go to downtown San Francisco, and will stay again next time.

The pros: Inexpensive Decent location Room has decent amenities The cons: Nonchalant service Smells like **** Limited breakfast options Lots of yelling Near the train No HVAC As mentioned above, this inn is a great location, with a great price, and you can tell they're trying. They had a fridge, a microwave, and a decently-sized TV in the room. More than I expected for $80~ish a night. The receptionists were what'd you expect at this price point, and the staff were mostly positive. Their breakfast options were also fairly limited, but if you were really hungry, it would do the job. While the HVAC system was broken, they did offer an extra portable heater that did the job. Unfortunately some things that they can't control really make the inn far worse than it tries to be. The behavior of their guests, their proximity to the train tracks, and the people yelling outside the hotel really affect the way guests experience the inn. Other guests were smoking **** that could be smelled all the way down the hall and in other rooms, and they were piling up so much trash they just started to leave it by their doors in the hallway. This is in addition to the fact that they were yelling and screaming, and the doors did little to muffle the sound. The yelling continued through midnight and kept waking me up throughout the night. This yelling came both from guests in the hallway and from people walking on the streets. I could also see how the room had been worn down by prior guests, with dents in the lampshade, stains on the carpet, and even though I could tell the cleaning staff put effort in the bathroom (towel folded into swan, etc), the light was malfunctioning. Thankfully, it didn't bother me much, but for those who aren't used to "roughing it," this might not be the place for you.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago to visit family. long story short the management decided to kick me out for reasons I am still unclear on.check in was fine, the issues started when I had a friend come over to pick up his sweater that I had from my last visit. I received a call from front desk saying my friend had to park outside and I offered to pay for the parking but the front desk agent denied. So I had my friend leave and park his car outside of the property. after he left my friend came by to get ready for a movie we were attending later that evening. I received a call again from front desk telling me my friend had to leave. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I asked him why and he said occupancy was for 1 adult, which I understand working as a hotel employee myself. However this was no later than 6 PM and nowhere near bed time, plus we were leaving to the movie soon and he was not going to be coming back with me. I pleaded for the agent to please understand what I was saying, that my friend was not going to be staying in the room with me. but no such luck. After a while of going back and fourth about how this is totally acceptable and that I do his same job at a different hotel the front desk agent began to actually yell over the phone at me totally unwilling to listen to any common sense. He eventually started to yell that he would be there with security to kick me out. Moments later I heard loud banging on my door but at this point I was totally in chock and scared to be completely honest. After a couple of minutes they stopped and shouted that they will call police. For once I felt a sense of relief knowing that police would show up since I really was doing nothing wrong and they were actually making me terrified. I then received a call in the room again this time from management telling me I needed to leave(no reason was given to me) and that if I dont comply they were calling the police. He said that he was already cancelled the reservation and I no longer that a right to stay in the room and he was already refunded my money back. The manager sounded calm but didn't seem apologetic or seemed to sympathize as if they had done nothing wrong. The only thing that made me leave was knowing they had cancelled my reservation without my consent and the fact that they were civil enough to at least refund me my money for the terrifying experience. almost a whole month has passed now and I still have not received any refund from this property and am still waiting. I notified Hotels.com about this and they treated me much better and even gave me a credit for the horrifying experience. To this day I wonder why they singled me out while other peopl had multiple people staying with them. Surely they dont verify number of adults for every single person. A part of me believes that it was due to their personal beliefs/religion. Which is discrimination. My advice is to stay the heck away from this property or they re more than capable of taking

So I am a traveling make up artist and creative Director, and came to Oakland briefly on a Saturday and booked using DayUse just to have a brief work office while I was in the area. When I arrived to check in, I asked the hotel clerk what the rate would be if I decided to stay the whole night and If I could possibly transfer my reservation into an overnight stay. He indicated that the rate would be the same and it would make a no difference and I verified with him once I was swiping my card when I would have to check out because I did want to stay overnight, instead of using that space as a dayuse space where I would be checking out within eight hours. he said that I could check out at 12 PM. Why this morning when I call the front desk to ask them if they serve breakfast he tells me that I need to leave as soon as possible, not at 12PM as told by the clerk from the day before, but as soon as possible. He was so curt and rude with me as if I was doing something wrong and I felt so disrespected as my daughter is listening to the conversation and she just got out of the shower and I do not want to make her abruptly leave on in the morning where it is so cold in the winter in the bay area. Obviously I'm not in any rush to leave and discomfort from my child, but I will absolutely never stay here again. Also, I will be telling all of my friends and family that frequently travel to visit us to no longer stay here either. It is not even a hotel friendly type building, i'm very familiar with Oakland infrastructure and honestly I would never recommend this place as a hotel--it's very outdated and accident prone as I fell on my own this morning just walking through the room the way the floor is built. Before even entering my room the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke, it is the most outdated, low budget option you could possibly pick besides a motel on international Boulevard. You really might as well spend an extra $30 and stay at the Hampton Inn with a abundant breakfast option and amazing hospitality which is just two blocks away. I will never be staying here again and I will let everyone else know as the manager was very arrogant, rude, and aloof when I tried to correct his statements after telling me I needed to leave right away.

Stayed at this "budget" hotel as it was closest to the car rental for the Oakland Airport. It offered a secure parking lot (behind a gated lot at night). While the rooms are clean but sp****, they do provide a basic room with an OK bed but very small pillows. Breakfast with coffee, boxes of cereal, pastry's and bananas. Hotel parking lot is typical of Oakland with trash but the interior courtyard and outdoor pool are very nice. Hotel is situated between the Bart, highway and busy street. Did not try the eating establishment next door but did find a Black Bear Diner and gas station not far on Hegenberger Road. No issues with the front office, staff were friendly. More or less what you would expect for a Budget Hotel in Oakland when you need a 1 night stay that is close to the Oakland Airport or Car Rental.

No breakfast, the room is large, the facilities are OK, it is the attitude of the younger brother.
