The hotel is a bit far from Sannomiya Station; you need to take a few train stops to get there, but it's very close to the nearest station. The room was spacious and the hygiene conditions were decent. The service was excellent. The hotel is divided into the Main Building and the South Building. I stayed in the Main Building this time, and I felt the facilities were a bit old. There's a FamilyMart convenience store and a few other shops on the first floor, which is convenient if you need to buy anything. The bathtub isn't fully enclosed, so water splashes out when you shower.

The English proficiency of the local staff is appallingly bad. I went to drop off my luggage and was told I couldn't check-in yet as it was too early. After finally checking in, I discovered my room was right next to the elevator. When booking, I had specifically requested a room away from the elevator, quiet, and non-smoking. It's my fault for not reconfirming with them, so I had to drag my luggage back to the front desk to change rooms. The new room was still on the street side, right next to the elevated highway, and directly opposite Kobe Station – you can imagine how noisy it was. This is an old hotel that's been renovated. You don't need a key card for any of the elevators, so female travelers staying alone should definitely be mindful of their safety. The quality of the renovation can only be described with a 'heh,' the details are just dreadful. Forget the small details, the door wouldn't even close automatically; you had to manually push and pull it to make sure it latched properly. The mini-bar light switch had an intensely bright light that was dazzling at night. Amenities weren't replenished on the second day, not even the drinking water. The staff passage, which also serves as a fire escape, was left wide open until 8 PM, indicating a lapse in safety management. The water pressure and temperature in the shower were unstable – hot one moment, cold the next, and then the water flow would suddenly diminish. I don't even want to comment on the breakfast; it felt worse than what you'd get at a slightly better budget hotel. The only made-to-order hot dish was an omelet. Every single cup was endlessly covered in limescale and scratches.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya, Kobe's busiest area, and 3 minutes from Motomachi Station. Downstairs is Nanjing Town, full of Chinese restaurants, which is basically Kobe's Chinatown food street. It's very convenient for dining, drinking, and shopping. The hotel's top floor has a sauna and hot bath, along with various free cold drinks and coffee. From 9:30 PM, they also offer complimentary special soy sauce ramen as a late-night snack. The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need; two large suitcases can be opened up without a problem. They don't provide daily cleaning service, but if you leave your trash and used towels outside the door, the staff will collect them and provide fresh ones. Overall, everything was excellent and quiet. Every day I'd wake up and it would already be almost 10 AM! 😂 I would definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit.

I booked the hotel too late during the Sakura season. There were no suitable hotels in Kyoto or Osaka. I saw that the price and room of this hotel in Kobe were OK, but the rating was too low. I was worried for a long time after I booked it. As a result, I felt pretty good after checking in. The room size is not consistent with the picture. At least the room I was given was very small when I stayed there, which was different from the official picture. The faucet of the bathtub at the toilet head needs to be tightened very hard, otherwise it will drip all the time. But maybe because my expectations were too low, I felt pretty good in the end... It is very close to Shinkaichi Station. Turn left and you will see the subway entrance. Lawson and 711 are very close next to it. The front desk service attitude is also very good and there is someone every time I pass by. The room is cleaned fairly clean, and the sound insulation is a bit poor, but fortunately the neighbors on both sides are very quiet. In general, if you can't book a hotel during the Sakura season and the Maple Leaf season, the price of this hotel for more than 300 yuan a day is pretty good value for money.

I arrived at Kansai Airport at 7pm and stayed there for a night before heading to Arima Onsen. The hotel location, sauna facilities, and breakfast were all good, but there was some water on the floor of the sauna facility, so it didn't look sanitary, and there were no yukatas provided in the room, so I wore regular clothes. That didn't mean I was uncomfortable, but seeing other guests wearing the yukatas provided in the room and going to the hot springs made me feel discriminated against for booking through Trip.com. If that's the case, then I shouldn't have booked through a travel site. I don't think I'll stay here again.

Inconvenience: No bottled water so had to bring own flask for refill. No Chinese channel so had to use YouTube with Japanese remote control. No fridge so hard to buy sushi n beer etc. Constructions work not noisy with window closed but had to detour to some places. Twisting type taps of cold n hot abit hard to adjust. Limited cleaning of room. Plus: English speaking staff. Spacious room with comfy mattress. Nice big table with space saving storage cabinets. Near bus terminal to Awaji island, Arima Onsen n Premium outlet. Closed to many fast food n restaurant. Like the coloured bath salt n disposable shaver. Overall a nice cosy DIY sort of stay. I would patronise again.

The Unizo Inn was one of the best locations I have stayed at in Japan. The room, relative to Japanese standards, is quite spacious and their degree of cleanliness is enough for even me, someone seldom fickle about cleanliness, to perceive. In addition, they also have a water dispenser situated just outside the elavator in the hallway leading to the room for anyone who might need some hydration. On the other side of the water dispenser was a VOD ticket machine for any guests interested in viewing the hotel's selection of movies. While I did not make use of this service, I am certain there are some travellers who would be most pleased to have something to entertain them even in their room. While I did not decide to have breakfast included with my room for the duration of my stay, the area in which the hotel is located makes it a prime location to acquire breakfast, whether that be a Matsuya right below the hotel or, my preference, Yoshinoya a little ways away. On the note of location, though, the hotel is well situated near Sannomiya station, giving ease of access to other regions of Kobe. That said, the wealth of restaurants and stores near the station alone could probably keep one interested in food occupied for a while. The staff were overall very friendly and the experience as a whole was most enjoyable. One point to note, however, was that like every other hotel I have been to in Japan, there is a stark absence of three-holed outlets so North Americans with three-pronged plugs should be aware of this and come prepared with an adapter of some sort.

This time I wanted to experience a Japanese-style room. The room was quite clean and tidy, with basically complete facilities, including air conditioning and a refrigerator. Ctrip said that this apartment type requires a shared bathroom, but the one I stayed in has a separate toilet and shower. The hotel didn't seem to have a front desk all the time. When I arrived, I had to wait for a while before someone came to greet me. After a brief check-in, I used a mobile phone translator to explain the check-in instructions. After being led to the room, I also introduced the situation of the room. It's just that the sound insulation is slightly poor, and you can hear the door opening and closing next door clearly. The next morning, I left early and didn't see the staff, so I left my keys at the front desk and left on my own. The location is quite convenient. After getting off the Hanshin Line from Sannomiya Station, it's about 200 meters uphill, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to Meriken Park.

The room was quite spacious, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. There's a direct bus from Kobe Airport, but you have to take an escalator and walk through a long corridor to reach the hotel. It's also super convenient for getting to Sannomiya. Kitano Ijinkan is just a 10-15 minute walk away, and there's also the Hyakusoen Park nearby, where you can take a cable car up the mountain – you can even see the cable car from your hotel room. The hotel service was quite good. For breakfast, you have a choice between Japanese and Western. We opted for the Japanese set meal, but if you have a big appetite, it might not be enough, though it looked great for photos. Next time, I'll choose the Western buffet for more variety. Restaurants in the area close very early in the evening; most were refusing new customers by around 8:30 PM. However, there's a fantastic supermarket near the JR station with a great selection, perfect for picking up souvenirs. The only downside is that the hotel's cleanliness needs improvement; the headboard was covered in dust, which is the first time I've encountered something like that in a hotel in Japan.

It is a hotel similar to a homestay, with tatami rooms. The service is average. Since there is no elevator, you need to lift your suitcase to the second floor and mention it to your room. The most irritating thing is the CHECK OUT part. We were told that CHECK OUT was at 11 o'clock. As a result, at 10:45, the hotel staff opened the door and asked for CHECK OUT without knocking, which was very rude.

It was great that the station was within walking distance. For safety reasons I couldn't block the peephole in the door so I decided to open the bathroom door and block it instead. The hair dryer was in the bedroom, so I was a little concerned about the noise, but it was great that there were lots of mirrors. A very good Glamping experience, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very polite and helpful. 1. We are driving here. Please note that this hotel is behind the ”Guest House”. There is a small road leading into it. It is easy to miss it, so be careful! 2. The entire hotel can only accommodate up to five groups of guests. There is a very friendly and beautiful lady who speaks good English and is responsible for receiving us. 3. Our room is so big and comfortable, you can take a bath 4. There is a free 45-minute use of the open-air bath on the top floor. However, it was a bit cold at night, so we didn’t take a dip. However, you can enjoy the beautiful night view of Kobe there, so you have to go up and see it even if you take a dip!

The lobby offers self-service amenities like skincare products and tea bags. There's also a self-service laundry room on the 10th floor where you can wash a good amount of clothes for just 600 JPY – perfect for families on vacation. Right as I stepped out of the subway station, I was lucky enough to catch the hotel's shuttle bus. The driver already had the list of guests checking in that day. Our hotel room was incredibly spacious, and the service was truly impeccable. The Kaiseki dinner we had ordered was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The hotel also features a traditional *kominka* (old Japanese house), which is said to be a lovely tea room. However, you do need to make an advance reservation at the front desk. Both the Kin-no-yu (Golden Spring) and Gin-no-yu (Silver Spring) were absolutely fantastic. Despite having a scabbed-over leg injury, I couldn't resist taking a dip in the hot springs. To my surprise, my wound showed no ill effects whatsoever.

This was our second visit here. The staff is very helpful, and there is a free transfer not just to and from the station - if you want a pickup from the town or the ropeway during your stay, they will help too. The private baths are beautiful and very well maintained, and the reserve-next-as-you-leave-the-previous system is very convenient. Overall, great experience.

The service was impeccable. The staff were very friendly and generally able to communicate in English. Their service is so good that they wipe down all your luggage upon arrival at the hotel, and my bags came out cleaner than when I came! The food also left us speechless. I’ve never tasted such a delicious meal, and I consider myself a foodie. The dishes were prepared fresh right in front of us. Every detail was attended to, from presentation to taste. It deserves a 100% without a doubt. Since I had a food allergy, they were careful to leave out the allergen in all the foods. I was really thankful for that, because it’s not always a given at Asian restaurants. The establishment itself is dated, but that’s why we chose it in the first place- to feel the aura of tradition. Having said that though, it was slightly inconvenient that there was no shower inside our room. However, it wasn’t too much of a problem because the shared shower/onsen room was just a short distance from our room, and it was generally not occupied. When we stayed there, there was a storm going on, so the the rain crashing on the window and the outside blinds gave off a spooky feeling, which added to the sense of adventure.

Super satisfied. Good location. Although it is a hotel from decades ago, you can still see that the quality of the decoration is great. Retro and fashionable. Strong atmosphere and quiet. The environment and dishes are quite satisfactory. The rice is as delicious as ever, but the overall price is not high. It may be that the reputation of Ma Hot Spring is great, and the boss is really big (there are many celebrities in the store to take photos).
