I drove over 5 hours from Austin for a marketing trip in the Rio Grande Valley. Got checked in, unpacked and went to grab some dinner. When I came back to the room, all I wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. When I opened the shower, I was disgusted to see it full of pubic hair. It was evident the shower wasn’t even rinsed out, let alone cleaned. I started looking closer and found even more hair on the floor outside the shower. I went downstairs ( because when I tried to call the front desk I discovered the phone didn’t work) but because it was almost 9 PM there was no one in housekeeping to clean it up. I asked if I could use a vacuum and was told no. I asked if there was a manager on-site, there was not. The guy at the front desk texted someone and asked if I could use a vacuum and was told no, they could move my room. Problem is the elevators also didn’t work so I already had to drag my luggage upstairs, the new room would be up more floors and why would I have reason to believe that a new room would be any cleaner? Very disappointed and grossed out.

First time to stay at this location. Pleasantly surprised with genuinely the nicest front desk staff Ralph!! Large fish tank that mesmerized my children. Clean cool room on 4th floor, comfy queen beds, sparkling pool, good variety breakfast and perfect location to get around town. I should of gotten a pic of the fish tank. LOL! Thank you for your time and glad we stayed at Hampton Inn!

Room was ok not great but acceptable. Not real happy with the room cleaning policy. Seems a bit extreme 3 days before they clean. Their breakfast for the homeless and bums policy seem just wrong. A quite filthy person came in at about 7 am and stuffed his pockets with a wide variety of food and drinks. Then walked out the door. The staff stood by and laughed. The next day I watched a staff leave and go to the parking lot with a plate full of food. A few minutes latter return with it a few minutes later they came back. I then realized that they were feeding the homeless. I assume the regular person she was going to feed wasn't where he was supposed to be. I latter ask at the desk what is the policy about non guest at breakfast. I was told that some of the guests look like homless and the staff don't ask due to that. That is very very different than other places I've been. IMHO There is so much wrong with this soup kitchen philosophy I don't know were to start. I doubt that this is a management policy at least I hope not.

Very convenient location relative to the airport. Monday thru Wednesday happy hour designed for business travelers with beer, wine, and a low budget meal. I’ve stayed here many times over many years, and there is very little variation (none?) to the menu. There is a morning breakfast too. The breakfast is OK. Also very predictable. There can be noise problems, but I’ve never experienced it during normal quiet hours. I’ve known the GM and staff members for many years. They are friendly and helpful. The furniture is not comfortable for long term lounging for tall people. The beds had been nice, but they are definitely beginning to show their age (furniture too), depending on the room. Could use some updating. The pool and hot tub are ok if you don’t mind the loud HVAC noise from the building next door. There is also a BBQ grilling area which is frequently used. The garbage truck will wake you up early in the morning (before 7) with its loud banging. Perhaps a good backup alarm clock. There is a always a large law enforcement (State Police, DNR, Military, etc...) contingency staying at this location. You can either feel nervous or more secure. They basically keep to themselves because they’re there to work. Suites have a kitchen and dishwasher. Suites also have sufficient space. Weekends are generally quiet with the non-business crowd. There are weekend meals too, but the dishes are silverware are replaced with styrofoam and plastic ware. I like staying here. Just wish they’d update the furnishings with newer, more comfortable furniture.

The front desk lady couldn't even find my reservation even when I had a confirmation number and an email she said that I reserved through a third party (TripAdvisor) and the reservation was under my mother's name and I was the one who made it and pay for it. The carpet of the room was so dirty, and the toilet was not even working right, I had to flush it like five times to make it to work. When I requested another room she gave me the keys of another room and they were not even working. So I had to go back and forth like three times to change keys and none were working. The lady was not helping at all and she had a bad attitude she made me wait for long time in the lobby. At this point I didn't want to stay in that hotel anymore because I was with my mother, she is 61 and she needs a special service so I requested cancellation of the room and a refund she said that I reserved it through a third party(TripAdvisor) and she couldn't do anything because she didn't know what I had pay for. So she denied a refund. I had to call the corporation office to solve the problem and she acted like she was talking to her manager. When I requested to talk to her manager she said she was talking to her boyfriend. Obviously I got upset and I just asked to respect my rights as a customer, because I had already paid. She didn't care that I had my mother with me and she kicked me out the hotel with my sick mother and she called the police on me like I was a criminal. Also I have to pay a $50 deposit. She said she was going to give me the money back. As today , I haven't got any refund. Please take action about this poor customer service. The employee was so rude. And please help me get my money back. Also I recorded a video of the keys not working so you can see that I'm not lying. And also I took a picture of the sticker they have on the door of ”TripAdvisor”. They have a sticker promoting TripAdvisor at the door but when I asked her about TripAdvisor, she said she doesn't have any idea about that and she doesn't even know what I had paid for through you. I would like to talk more about this case please call me or send me an email I will call you as soon as possible. Thanks . Fernando

My stay was fantastic the room and facilities were immaculate as were the grounds... It was very quiet... I would definitely stay again at this hotel... There are a lot of other hotels in the area none of them even compared and were even more expensive than where I stayed... It had the best pricing in the area... I was not disappointed in the least the staff was extremely kind... They definitely went above and beyond...

This hotel is clean and staff is nice, but their booking system falsely advertises the rooms. I booked the Executive King because the picture next to the description showed a sitting area with a couch and coffee table. Upon checking in I was told that only King Suite was the only one that included this. The executive is simply more square footage than their king leisure. Even now if you try to book, it shows you an incorrect picture on the description. Uploading photo as an example for proof, this is from the hotels direct website - no third party. I mentioned it to the employee at check in, but nothing came of it. So just keep that in mind if you use your website to book.

The housekeeping was very good and they were very detailed on the cleaning for the 3 nights that we stayed there. They breakfast was outstanding and at of the plates that they had for breakfast was chicharrón con salsa and that was so delicious. We went for a wedding and the Christmas holiday and it was absolutely amazing. We got a beautiful view of the South Pole holiday attraction, the happy hour was on point the food was delicious breakfast was custom and complimentary and dinner was excellent and affordable. We tried a little bit of all the food they offered and not one disappointed! The service was super friendly and would greet you in the halls. We had to order a few things and they came quickly the space and the cleanliness was phenomenal. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit the Valley again. It was well worth it and just takes you to another place where you're taken care of.

I host my baby and husband, we weren't there for two hours. My sleeping son very unquietly, never is it, I felt something on my foot, and by checking nothing more and nothing less than slips, the manager only offered ”spray” to apply in the room or change our room, Then I was aware that I was not able to do anything to return the payment, that if the manager arrived in the morning (it was Saturday morning) to say that not until Monday.

Very pleasant clean stylish hotel, location perfect, especially if you need to go to the bus station. I liked almost everything. It is evident that the hotel management is suitable with love and great attention. From the downsides, that when evicting instead of returning the deposit of 25$, on the contrary, it was withdrawn an additional 65$. After the letter to the support service corrected, but still the precipitation remained.

The aesthetics do not imbue a sense of comfort, but the cleanliness of my deluxe, king room, combined with quiet ambience, the mini fridge, microwave, ceiling fan, ample lighting options and smart television programming options made for a quality stay. Moreover, I received an amazing rate which more than made up for anything else I could've desired.

In rural Texas, hotels are already good, but health is indeed a bit painful for girls, even seeing ants on the bed, so I dare not sleep all night. The bathroom is still relatively clean. The little brother at the front desk of the hotel is also very good. It can basically meet most of the problems. The shuttle bus can also take you to a place not far away for free. There is a driver whose English is a little bit not very good, but it is simple to understand. It is still much easier to return to Spanish in Mcallen.
