Fabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. No on-site parking but valet parking available. Excellent stay.

Hobart City Apartments is located right in the downtown shopping district of the city. You don't stay there for the view, but you are in the thick of things and still only a 12 minute walk to the harbor for endless choices of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. With notice and availability, they offer underground parking for $20.00 a night. Otherwise, there is night street parking and a couple of lots close by. Though this review focusses specifically on the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse apartment where we spent 6 nights, 3 of us first spent 1 night in two large single rooms, while awaiting availability of the Penthouse apartment. Each large room included a king bed, with end tables and lamps, a wall mounted TV, and a seating area, plus a good sized bathroom with large walk in shower. These 1 bedroom units include a small kitchen with a mini fridge, and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Suffice to say that both the single units and the Penthouse we stayed in, are beautifully and relatively recently decorated, and very comfortable. The Penthouse apartments are large and feel quite new, like the single units. Similarly they are well appointed, and nicely decorated, with lots of light. The upstairs consists of one bedroom, with a king bed, end tables, table lamps and a wall mounted TV, plus an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom space is tight which of course, can't be helped, and so there's minimal drawer storage though enough if you plan it out well. There's a wide, deep ledge in front of the window, so one of us used that to lay out clothes, and toiletries, while the other used the shelves in the closet and though we needed more hangers, there was enough hanging space for 2 of us. The suites are relatively new so having what felt like new bathrooms was a bonus. The upstairs bathroom has no counter space but under counter storage, a large shower and it's well designed. There is no door at the top of the stairs into that bedroom/bathroom, so if privacy is an issue, be prepared. The main floor houses a small kitchen, with a microwave, full fridge and stove, flat cooktop, plus dishwasher and just enough plates, cups, glasses and utensils to get by. Don't plan on cooking a big meal though. It's best for breakfast, and serving up take-away. The adjacent living space had a large, 'pleather' (ie: looks like but isn't leather) couch and matching chair and the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall beneath a media unit, and across from the couch so it's a pleasant place to sit. Behind the occasional chair, is a small dining table, seating 6, then a sliding door, and screen out to a large but unfurnished patio. It would be nice to offer up 4 outdoor chairs and a couple of small side tables to enjoy a cocktail. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor, is larger than the upstairs, and houses a Queen size bed, end tables, with lights, and a closet. There is no TV in that room; something else they should add. The 2nd, large bathroom is across f

A great 5 night stay in the center of Hobart. It exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable clean rooms, good bedding and with good internet access. Importantly one of the few hotels in Hobart with its own parking. It is limited so you have to make reservations prior to your arrival , but then your place is guaranteed. The $20 charge is very reasonable and you can come and go as you please knowing that you will be able to park. The location is hard to beat an easy walk to restaurants , pubs, shops , constitution dock and the Salimanca markets. On top of this the staff were pretty special and made our stay very pleasant. I followed some of their recommendations and was not disappointed. Good coffee comes to mind from one helpful lady when I asked. A stay in the center of Hobart does not come cheap, but I found their price for a stay very acceptable in comparison to other hotels. A glowing report to say the least , but they surprised me with the quality of our stay and helped us very much enjoy Hobart. Thoroughly recommended. Would stay again in a shot when revisiting Hobart. Our previous stay in Hobart was 44 years ago for our honeymoon. Thanks Allurity Pete and Claire

I stayed at this youth hostel in Hobart for four days to give you some reference. 1. The landlord will thoughtfully send check-in information to your email before check-in. It is very convenient to check in unattended, which is very suitable for i people. Moreover, the landlord here is Chinese and there is no language barrier. 2. This youth hostel has only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers with 41 beds. During my stay, there was only 1 washing machine (one of the washing machines was broken and the washing machine usage time was limited). Although it is not completely impossible to wash clothes, But I need to find every opportunity to do laundry. We all live in a youth hostel, so I can overcome this difficulty, and then! I found that the dryer won't dry my clothes! Because I couldn't wash my clothes, I washed them in the bathroom one day and put them in the dryer. They didn't dry for two hours. Once I put the clothes in the washing machine for washing. Time was tight. It took 30 minutes to dry two clothes, but one was not dry. Reminder: Try to bring as many sets as possible to change. If the clothes are not dry enough and will stay longer, you can hang them by the bed and dry them overnight. Also, the laundry detergent of the youth hostel is on a grid-like shelf after entering the lobby. Don’t be like me and only found the laundry detergent on the last day after staying for four days! 😭 3. The hygiene condition of the youth hostel is much better than that of many youth hostels. In particular, the bedding and towels are very clean and the sleeping environment is very comfortable. Everyone will try their best to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. The hygiene level of toilets and shower rooms is tolerable. The hall was also very clean and bright, and I personally saw that every public water cup was wiped. 4. The staff at the youth hostel were very slow in replenishing shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer. I think girls use these a lot, so they should at least check whether they are sufficient every day. But the staff may only visit once every two or three days. There are two girls' bathrooms. Except for the shower gel and shampoo on the first day, there is no shampoo in the first cubicle on the second day, and there is no shower gel in the second cubicle on the third day. On the fourth day, I studied Be smart, check if both sides are there before taking a shower, and then! The first stall had nothing and the second stall had no shower gel. Moreover, the hand sanitizer in the girls' restroom has been out since the third day, and it was not replenished on the fourth day. 😓 5. In terms of safety, it is still okay. At least if you put the bag in the aisle, no one will take it at will, and the food in the refrigerator will not be taken away at will. At least my Cheerilee was safe there for three days. but! I don’t understand why there are boys in the hotel I booked in the girls’ area for two nights! Although most of them are girls, why are there one or two boys? I think this is an oversight by the hotel, but the boys didn't cause much trouble to my sleep, so I didn't complain. I hope this aspect needs to be improved. p.s. I heard other residents, girls and boys, reminding me that this is a girls’ area, but the boy didn’t know what he said and couldn’t hear clearly, so he checked in! 6. This hotel does not have a late check-out service, but Ctrip marked that you can have a late check-out at 2 o'clock in the local area and an early check-in of 4 hours (I don't know if the early check-in service exists), so I used some points to redeem the service. Later, It was time to clean at 10 o'clock in the morning. I went out to play for a while and wanted to come back and take a nap before leaving. I asked the hotel cleaning staff and they said that there was no such service and the room had been cleaned at 10 o'clock. I reported this problem to Ctrip, and Ctrip quickly handled it for me and ended the problem by compensating me part of the amount. But if you haven't gone to the airport yet, you can store your luggage in the hotel. From my current point of view, it's very safe. 7. The lobby of the youth hostel has normal sockets in Australia, and the sleeping area only has USB plugs, so you can bring a USB plug for convenient charging, which is quite fast. Also remember to bring a mouthwash cup, toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers. Have a nice trip everyone.

I stayed at a Imperial backpackers two years ago and was very keen to persuade my four friends to stay with me this time. Frustratingly, a bunch of little irritating things add up to a negative review, when actually Imperial backpackers should be a great place to stay. The kitchen is great, with lots of equipment and fridges and space for your food. The hot water in the bathrooms takes a while but it’s really hot when it does come through. Beds are comfy and the room had an efficient heater. And there’s a guy called John who is so helpful – he was a guest last time. I was there, but now he works for the organisation. All in all, it should be a five star place. However, in the past couple of years, I don’t think they’ve done much maintenance In our room, the locker doors were either locked shut or couldn’t be shut (and there was no place to put the padlock that the website suggested we bring!). Our flyscreens were also badly torn, while in our friends’ room across the hall, there were gaps at bottom and top of the windows, which let in both freezing blasts of winter air, and the hideous smell of cigarette smoke from directly beneath the windows. Stuffing several towels in the gap eventually did the trick, but it shouldn’t be necessary. And there’s a bunch of inaccurate/ misleading/ dangerous signage. Firstly, there are 2 huge fire doors as you climb the stairs from the night entrance. They both have large signs saying they must be kept shut at all times (they are, after all, fire doors). But they are both left open all the time, and I was told have been for a while. On the main entrance door, opposite reception, the biggest sign says office house are 9-5.30pm (same as last time) but right below it is another sign saying office hours are 9.30-230pm This shorter opening time impacted our stay in several ways,l. With that office only open from 930 to 230pm, eerything else is “ after hours”. So, if you want to use the laundry - you pay a deposit and a per hour fee - you have to do so between 930 and 2:30 pm. If you want to leave your bags during the day, after checking out at 10 am, you can only do so till 2:30 pm. (Last time we left our bags until 5pm , when we got the Skybus to the airport(. We phoned the Imperial number, at 3pm on day 2 , to ask for a second key to our room, and we’re told that there would be an “after hours fee” of $20, even though it was still 3 pm. None of this happened on our first visit, and the website doesn’t mention that all the services mentioned are only available 5 hours/ day. So, like I said, I should be giving a great rating, but I’d go for 2 1/2 stars.

I stayed here for 5 nights as part of a Luxury escapes package, which also included breakfast. The hotel is in a fantastic location, being very central to all Hobart has to offer. My room itself, 7706, was huge, with a deep bathtub and views over to Mt Wellington. A nice fireplace beside the Cascade bar is nice to sit by, and the breakfast at Charcoal is a great start to the day (barista made coffee, anyone?). If you're looking to explore Hobart and all that part of Tasmania has to offer, you could do worse than book at RACV. All the staff were great, check in seamless. I really can't recommend highly enough. NB - there is some minor renovations that appear to be happening on some floors, but the noise did not impact me whatsoever.

Said to be a shop, specifically a large inn, downstairs is a bar, restaurant, slot machine room. The lobby is right on the side of the bar and restaurant. This shop was remodeled from an old house. There are a total of eleven rooms. On the second floor, open the door with a key, the stairs are up and down, and the key to open the door is the key to your room. The quietness of the accommodation is entirely conscious of the guests. There is only one chain on the door of the room for security measures and no anti-locking. The bathroom is big. Breakfast is a Western-style breakfast, a la carte meal, breakfast tea drink buffet, tea, water, milk, juice. The location of the hotel (inn) is very good, this is the biggest advantage.

Had a recent stay for 3 nights and found it really enjoyable. After a little confusion with parking the car due to street it is located on being a bus thoroughfare, valet parking was prompt and we found we didn't need to get car out again. Great location in the centre of town and easy walking to everything Hobart has to offer. Rooms were very clean, although a little small, bathroom was a generous size although water did flood floor when showering. Did have to order another pillow as ones in room were rock hard. Breakfast was very yummy and buffet option that was offered had more than enough to satisfy. Gym was small with just enough equipment to do a workout. The Chocolate Hour was a bit of a letdown, not what we expected, but still another point of difference. All in all, a really nice stay and we'll certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Basic room but very clean and well appointed. Very close proximity to all amenities of the cbd, uber eats was able to find us quickly and without hassle, also the establishment is very quiet of a night. The bed was comfortable and there was free Wi-Fi, for $85 a night, so close to everything and presented in this manner, I would happily recommend to anyone I know and will be staying again when we are down again. The only recommendation I have for the owners/managers is the shower cubicle itself is very small and I'm a tall guy and big build too, so moving around to shower was a bit hard but otherwise that's it. Thank you for a great stay, my partner and I will see you again on our next stay. 👍

The garden of this hotel is spectacular. Breakfast is cooked to order. It tastes good and is exquisite in appearance. Although I read the reviews and received rave reviews, I have some opinions. It may be that they have different concerns. The overall feeling of the carriage suite I booked was not good. The platform stated that the room type is 108 square meters. I don’t know what the standard is. The overall internal space is very cramped. The two rooms upstairs are also small, with only one bed. The bathroom, kitchen, laundry room and living room downstairs are very full. There is basically no place to put luggage. The sanitary conditions are average. There is still plastic paper in the washing machine and the seals are not there. It was moldy and the dryer door was full of black hair balls, indicating that the hotel did not clean the washer and dryer after the previous guest left.

Was a little wary when we arrived. We were allocated room 2 which was downstairs. But when we open the door to the room, was surprised to find the room not only good size but clean. The bedsheets were super white, clean and crispy, looks and feel brand new. The towels were brand new too. White and fluffy. We were there for 3 nights for golf. Had dinner at the pub. Food was good considering it was a pub. Staff were very polite and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Great 2 bedroom unit that we used as our base for 5 nights exploring the bottom half of Tassie. Living area isn’t huge and the kitchen is small, however it’s all very functional and works well. Bedrooms and bathroom facilities upstairs with comfy beds and bathrooms are great - fantastic shower pressure. Laundry facilities are good with 5 washing machines and dryers, and you can grab extra coffee, sugar, towels from here also anytime. Didn’t use the pool but it looks great. Parking is easy with parks straight outside your unit doors. Overall, great place to stay, but quite hilly if are wanted to walk into the city.

I checked in an hour ago and have considered checking out. Bathroom is gross - shower, grout, and toilet. If the blinds are open, it leaves you exposed to people potentially using a walking trail outside your window, but with the blinds closed the room is very dim. There is a dead bug and spider web on/around my window. Walls are marked everywhere. I can scratch 'substances' off surfaces that clearly haven't been cleaned properly. The microwave both looks and smells like a pasta sauce disaster. It should be spotless. The arm chair in the room could use a decent scrub/be replaced - its arms are black. I was paying exactly the same price for a motel in Sandy Bay earlier this week and the quality far exceeded this one. Would absolutely not stay again. Its gross. No attention to detail. Really disappointing. Really want to go back to Sandy Bay!! Phone cannot pick up the Wi-Fi network. I was given a card with the password, but not the network name? Staying for convenience only to be near my elderly parents.

We stayed in the “cottage” set in the old stable quarters of this beautiful turn of the century home. The cottage is a charming studio unit with vaulted ceilings and polished timber floorboards. It is large and spacious and amply equipped with a large fridge, cooking stove, microwave and an attached ensuite. The house is located on one of the busiest roads leading into the CBD but we barely heard the traffic as the cottage was at the back of the house. I understand the rooms in the main house have double glazing to address that issue. There is much to recommend in this place. Ample parking at the back if you have a car tho a tad tricky to manoeuvre a vehicle given the need to turn off a very busy road. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and run by a very affable and engaging Kevin. Kevin serves generous portions of breakfast (bacon and eggs) and copious quantities of coffee from a commercial coffee machine located in the kitchen dining area at the back of the house overlooking a courtyard. We are planning to visit Hobart again next year and Lowenas will be our first choice of accommodation. For its cleanliness, convenience and relaxed ambience at a modest price tag - Highly recommended!

Some foods taste more than the buffet at the wrest point hotel in the same city, but others Children under the age of five are free. The only drawback is the two black spiders found on the room curtains, but the old house is inevitable

The location of the hotel is good, just beside the pier, the facilities in the room are all available, and the high-end configuration is the best hotel apartment I have ever stayed at. The front desk office of the hotel is super hard to find. I can't communicate in English. All of my son, a junior high school student, asked six or seven people and found the hotel front desk. They have already got off work, then they called and called us to find a green one. The button door, the key is that the door is not in the hotel yard, on the side of the building facing the road, we found it for a long time to find, then direct us to open a password box, and finally got the room key, I advise you, if I don't know a word of English. I have to go to the store during the working hours of the hotel. Otherwise, you can't understand the other person's words and you can't get the keys. Here is the photo of the hotel's front office. Have you seen it? The office is in that doorway, I hope to help everyone.

Very happy with our stay -2 nights. We were in the wing furthest away & as I'm allergy- prone had rung ahead to ask if cleaners could go easy on the heavy bleaches/fragrances: which they did! About a 20 min taxi ride from airport ($38) Comfortable beds, hot shower, spacious quiet room. Ate 2 nice evening meals at the club onsite. You can get a bus into town on main road nearby, read timetable carefully though. The only 2 negatives were you could the adjoining room's water pipes every time they used them - very noisy, and there's no microwave.

The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

I stayed here briefly (plumbing problem at home) so cannot comment on sleep quality. I had room 23, which was tiny (it was advertised as small) and had a double bed. Bed linen was clean and appeared to be good quality. Towels on the bed were folded in a most bizarre way, and they appeared to have been thrown down and crumpled, but were meant to actually look like that (reminded me of a sea creature.) The room was clean, as was the bathroom, with the exception of the entire floor of the shower bay, which was a yellow/tan colour. Maybe it was clean, but if it was, then it was obviously stained and really needs replacing. It was extremely off putting. Walls are thin and I heard the person in the next room showering. The male at Reception was quite dour. I did not have to stay the night as my water problem was rectified so I went home. Good value, but I would not stay here again. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, even though the property is non smoking.

We booked two nights in April. We could smell the room before the door was fully open! Body smells, dirty smells, old stained carpet smells! The furniture was ancient, worn and not clean looking. The bed cover had holes and looked like a dog blanket. It felt like a marshmallow and I didnt dare look at the mattress to check if it was clean. The carpet was badly stained all over and the bathroom needed renovating 20 years ago. We felt awkward but couldnt stay there so chatted pleasantly with reception who admitted the room did small and they had another rom with a new carpet and new mattress. The new room did not smell as bad but the carpet was stained worse than the first. The bathroom was ancient and melamine pealing and missing in parts. We simple couldnt bring ourselves to stay there and asked for a refund [eve if just for one night]. We did not get a refund and the owner stobbornly kept referring us to Booking.com for our problem. They emailed her that night and she never replied to them. Reading reviews later I saw that at some time the place was used as a *******, maybe that explains the copious stains. We ended up paying 2 nights accomodation and booked elsewhere. I telephones the owner and asked why she didnt reply to booking.com so we could get a refund, suddenly her english wasnt as good as it was when we met!! She didnt offer anything. I suggested she use our money to buy a new bedspread! My only regret was that I was so shocked by the state of the room I forgot to take pictures to share with you.

The location is very good. From the airport, take the first stop of the bus and walk to the hotel. You can buy food and cook in the supermarket on the pedestrian street, which is very convenient. There are many places to eat on the pedestrian street.

Salamanca Terraces is a fantastic location. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment - very large bedrooms, bathroom and separate laundry on top levels, open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room on lower floor with separate toilet. Everything you could need, very clean. We were more than happy here and would definitely stay again. Great place and you cannot beat the location- restaurants next door and markets 1 minute away on Saturday. Tip: check-in is as Lenna which is just across the road and up a little but the hill is steep, if there are a few people I would recommend sending one person to check in and leave the others outside the Salamanca Terraces. Great accommodation, enjoy.

The hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel

We went to macq01 as a little getaway before our second baby arrives. I hadn’t told the staff that however they noticed I was pregnant and delivered a gift box full of bath salts etc & some chocolates to our room. The rooms there are always beautiful and we love staying at macq01! We’ve stayed multiple times. Highly recommend.

Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat, sun, mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. The first picture is what I thought I booked but the second picture is actually what I got. The 3rd picture is what is in the website for booking and the last picture is what you get.
