This is a very clean establishment with all the necessary amenities. Our room, the hallways, and the breakfast area were immaculate and very modern. The building is secure -- keys are required for access to the building, the floor, and of course the room. The sunny breakfast area was set up with a personal touch in that each room had a designated table with a creative place setting for each guest. Our hosts went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Thanks to the written information provided by our hostess, we were able to easily make our way to the boat to take us to the Amalfi Coast for day trips. Directions and recommendations were also given for dining in the area. The management scheduled a taxi to take us to the train station when we were leaving. But most impressive of all, when a date misunderstanding with a local laundry service caused us to have to leave Italy without our laundry, our hostess picked the laundry up herself and had it shipped to us in the US. Who can beat that for customer service that is above and beyond? We loved this place, and our stay in Salerno will remain in my heart

Keen to visit the Amalfi Coast, I had originally planned to base myself in the towns of Amalfi or Positano. However the high accommodation prices in these cities places deterred me from staying in either town. I decided to look elsewhere. The city of Salerno, a port city, with excellent public transport, was the obvious alternative choice for me. The city has great ferry connections, train connections and bus connections. It is a living Italian city which has not been destroyed by tourism, unlike some of its neighbouring towns! After 3 nights in Sorrento, I was delighted to escape the thousands of tourists for calmer Salerno. Salerno itself is worthy of a visit and has a gorgeous historical centre. I visited its wonderful Duomo and I Giardini di Minerva. I enjoyed great food in Salerno too, again void of the high prices of its more famous neighbouring 'touristic towns'. Now to talk about the Bruman: The Bruman Hotel has an ideal location, being right at the train station and a mere 5 minute walk from the ferry port. The city centre is also within walking distance. If you're travelling Italy by foot, this hotel is ideal. The hotel is basic but modern and clean. The staff are very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. Basing yourself in Salerno really makes sense for visiting the Amalfi Coast. It also has the benefit of having easy access to popular sites such as Pompei, Rome and Naples - to name but a few. If I were to return to Salerno again, I would definitely consider returning to the Bruman. Grazie!

My friend and I travelled to the Amalfi Coast last June (2019) and had originally booked a quaint B&B in the mountains for our accommodation, but as we were only there for a long weekend and had decided not to hire a car, we decided to switch to a hotel closer to local transport links instead - it was a bit more expensive but ultimately the best decision ever! It was a lovely stay and we would both happily return! When we arrived, there was a major refurb in full swing with some scaffolding and building work going on (which we were informed of prior), but this didn't bother us at all. We had earplugs with us but didn't Our twin room was big and airy, with high ceilings, air con and ensuite bathroom with a shower - it was so hot we both had at least 2 showers a day! Everything was spotlessly clean and continued to be each evening we returned from our day trips. The staff were wonderful too, so welcoming, warm, and friendly. Most of them spoke English too, which was refreshing as we had not perfected our beginner's Italian conversation techniques just yet! Breakfast each morning was a lovely affair - self service traditional continental with a variety of hot and cold drinks, cereals, yoghurts, fruits, bread, cold meats, cheese, and delicious mini plain and filled croissants. The Hotel Plaza is located a stone's throw from both Salerno train station and the local ferry port, where we caught ferries to other coastal towns along with connections to Capri and other islands. The hotel is also located along the street from the shopping district, a pedestrianised promenade lined with palm trees with old fashioned buildings hosting a few bars and restaurants too. All in all, a super place to stay, highly recommend!!

I stayed one night with my wife and daughter. The location was superb within easy walking distance to the train and ferry. The room was very modern, updated and comfortable. I paid extra for a parking spot for my rental car. It was a very secure garage very close by. The owner allowed us to leave our car for the entire following day as we toured the Amalfi coast. He also provided storage for our bags for the day. On our return, he personally took us to a nearby gas station so that we could fill up before continuing our trip. Without a doubt, this B&B exceeded our expectations and we were very happy we stayed at La Collina dei Ciliegi.

This is a fantastic guest house, located just one block from the waterfront and immediately in front of the wharf for ferries to Amalfi, Positano, etc. The guest house is two rooms with a shared kitchen. Our room had a small balcony with a laundry rack so were able to catch up on some laundry by handwashing. The room was immaculately clean. Only complaint was that the shower was difficult to get in and out of and I never did figure out how to get the hairdryer plugged in as it seemed to only fit the bathroom plug, which was blocked off. Like many guest houses, you are mostly on your own once you check in as the landlord is off site. There is an amazing coffee bar across the alley, which the landlord even provided coupons for.

Loved this cozy b&b❤️ It’s very elegant and extremely clean, located in a great position, the medieval heart of Salerno. It’s surrounded by cafes and stores, but at the same time in a very quiet place, you could sleep for hours. At a few steps you have the harbor to get the ferries to Capri, Ischia and the Amalfi Coast. On the other side, five minutes walking you get to the main train station and the bus central station, basically you have all the connections at your fingertips. The manager is just great, the breakfast range is wide, the quality is superbe. You can choose your favorite options and they just deliver to you whatever you want: organic juices, smoothies, fresh fruit, amazing cakes... I was just impressed.

We had a room, not an apartment. There are 3 rooms in total. We had room 3. Location is great. Just on the edge of the old town so you can walk to everything. A beach is just across the road. A bus stop to the railway station or Amalfi is very close. We walked to and from the station. If you have roller bags I suggest walking along the water otherwise it’s a nice long (mostly) walking street directly from the station to the BnB. The room is amazing. It’s set in an old fashion grand apartment block. Our room is twice the size of a normal room with a large sitting and study area. Large French doors, ornate ceiling, period tiles. Fantastic! Our host was charming, friendly and helpful. Always bright and bubbly, she cooked fresh cakes for breakfast each morning - and the breakfast room is a delight. Wifi is ok. There was no noise from other guests at all. The room has a small air con unit that just did the job in the mid summer heat. But we rarely used it. The only negative is there is some road noise and a bar underneath. It’s no more noise than any city hotel but you might want to consider ear plugs or request the room that doesn’t face the busy street. Up the stairs and turn left. But the other charms of this place make it all worthwhile.

We had a lovely experience in this charming B&B! Were met with Luigi when we reached - the check-in process was a breeze, and he sweetly explained all the necessary things and showed us around. We had the deluxe room, with balcony access, which was a real gem! It has wonderful views of the promenade and across the bay, and a lovely place to start your day with a cuppa or end with a glass of prosecco! The apartment was clean, spacious, and airy. The best feature was the kitchenette (shared), which had snacks, tea, coffee, etc. for consumption. Although we had chosen the "with breakfast" option ... the freebies in the kitchenette were very sufficient. The bar/pattisserie were breakfast was available is a charming little place, and we had such a sweet server the day we were there. There is no limit on the amount you can have at the shop for breakfast, if that's included in your stay ... how wonderful! I felt like a kid in the candy shop :) :) I would definitely choose Attico 195 again when I'll visit Amalfi Coast next. It's walking distance to everything ... the train station, the two ferry terminals (Molo Manfredi was a little further than the Piazza Concordia, but still a 15 mins walk), restaurants/bars, and the local market area. Highly recommended!!

Ciro & Emilia are the perfect hosts! We booked into Salerno nel Cuore for 3 nights in the campanile apartment. It was a chic boutique styled apartment with modern feminine touches. The water in the shower was always very warm, the bed was very comfortable and the apartment was spotless. The fridge was stocked with water, yoghurt and juices. Croissants were delivered one morning and a fabulous Italian cake on the second day, homemade by Emilia 😍 Regular contact was made by Ciro via WhatsApp which was very helpful. We knew exactly where to go upon arrival and also he gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. We loved La Posteria. Location is excellent, a 20 minute walk from the train station. We got a taxi when we arrived and that cost €10.00. We walked back by the promenade and it is very do-able with wheely cases. The accommodation is a 2 minute walk from the cathedral, under 10 minutes from the main shopping street and there are lots of fabulous restaurants and cafes close by! It is a 15 minute walk to the ferry port for regular ferries to Positano, Amalfi and other little Italian towns. We are looking forward to staying in Salerno Nel Cuore next summer (hopefully with better weather). Thanks Ciro & Emilia for your hospitality.

My husband and I had booked a 3 night stay prior to leaving the UK which we extended to 6 nights once we arrived; the view was breathtaking and the room was lovely. There were only 11 rooms and at partial occupancy it felt a little like having our own private villa with very efficient and friendly staff. The Good: this villa was clean, the breakfast was plentiful, the view amazing and the pool area was quiet. There were lots of options for sun beds or sofas or tables around the pool and also shade and full sun; it never felt crowded. The room was spacious with efficient air conditioning and a huge bathroom. The staff were lovely, and had varying levels of spoken English ( I don't speak any Italian) but we got things done very easily and when asked they provided us a lovely but simple lunch, ordered us a taxi and generally kept everything running smoothly. Being high on hill meant that it was much cooler than the old town where it was quite stuffy. As a dog lover I enjoyed seeing the owners dog out in the front driveway, a lovely old labrador who would amble slowly about. This made the place feel much more informal and friendly. Don't worry if dogs are not your thing they are very much kept away from the public areas. The Bad: almost nothing. The view came from being perched on top of a big hill and other reviews will mention the 300 steps and the escalator that shuts at random times. This is easily overcome...if you turn left at the bottom of the hotel steps just before the escalator and follow the road down it is a much more gentle walk both up and down...and you feel very virtuous when eating a gelato or tiramisu! You are then on a nice gentle and flat stroll through the old town and on to the promenade where you can take advantage of all the lovely little bars and restaurants. The villa is on a main road with passing lorries from the Docks, but again don't let this put you off. You cannot hear them from the room, the balcony or the pool area. Overall I loved this place and would highly recommend it.

I was assigned Casa Maria by Academia Italiana as my home during my studies. They couldn't have sent me to a better place. My experience at Casa Maria was amazing! Maria will easily become your mother away from home. She is very thoughtful, considerate, helpful, funny and more. She will make you feel home the moment you step in her house. I recommend having dinner with Maria, especially if you are a student. Maria will cook something different everyday. She will add the most important ingredient to that dinner, love! I loved every single thing she cooked. I was always looking forward to sitting at the table for dinner with Maria. I was lucky enough to sit next to her all the time. She made me practice my Italian, and made me love her culture even more. During dinner, she will explain what she cooked, the origin, how she did it, and so forth. In my case, it was like having dinner at home. Good and interesting conversations. With Maria, I had the opportunity to eat excellent and delicious home-made foods. What a blessing! I have so much respect for Maria. She always greeted me with a beautiful smile, and really made me feel welcome any time I came home. Antonio, her son, was very helpful. He also made me practice my Italian, and I loved that he pushed me to speak more in Italian. He speaks excellent English, but still, he talked to me a lot in Italian, and I appreciate that a lot. Whenever I thought I needed to speak in English to make sure I was communicating what I needed to at the moment, it was great to know that Antonio was there. He also will greet you with a great smile, and make you feel home. A very helpful young man. He will help you with anything he can such as suggestions to restaurants, places, activities, etc. Casa Maria is also a very clean place. It is located in the old Salerno, and I love the building and its surroundings. The building is very old, and since I love anything that has to do with art and architecture, I love to see the contrast of the building outside and inside. In the outside, you see a beautiful old building, and in the inside, it is modern, and abosolutely clean. The location is the best. Everything you need is close to Casa Maria... restaurants, cafes, markets, bars, all kinds of shops, beautiful churches, etc. I would just go for a walk in the afternoon, and I absolutely loved it! You will see the locals walking around, shopping, sitting at a park talking to friends and laughing. Old Salerno is a great place to people watch. I stayed at Casa Maria for a week, and I can't thank Antonio and Maria enough for making me feel at home. There is no doubt that I would stay at Casa Maria if I decide to go back to Salerno to study. This time, I would try to stay at least two weeks. Thank you Antonio and Maria for everything you did for me.

I was in the Amalfi coast for holiday with my girlfriend and my car broke down and was towed to a random village outside of Solerno. We needed a place to sleep and got in touch with Maria the owner of the B&B as it had great reviews on booking.com. It was already late in the evening and Maria arranged the room for us. We were hoping it was only going to be a one night stay as we had places to go on our travels but our mechanic (or village poacher) had been jerking us around. Maria's husband Paolo came for breakfast in the morning, offered to call and speak with him and also had a mechanic friend that could help us out. His mechanic friend offered to go pick up our car from this village, bring it to Salerno and fix the car cheaper than quoted by this other mechanic. Needless to say, it turned into a big debacle with the other mechanic not wanting to releaser our car. Paolo spent so much time on this issue and we were so greatful as no one spoke english. We eneded up staying another night here as it was such a great little place. We cannot speak more highly of Maria and Paolo for helping us out. The room was amazing. The unit is super clean. If you are looking for a great place to stay, choose this place over any other place. It is a little home away from home. Thank you Maria and Paolo!

There is a lift from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor where the B&B is located. It is very quiet location but central to pedestrian shopping area, restaurants, historical sites, and transporation. Stayed here for three days at the end of a nine day trip to Italy. By the time my wife and I arrived we had already come down with a severe case of the flu (had not left our room in Florence for two days). Upon arriving in Salerno my wife had developed strep throat. We spoke little to no Italian (most from phrase book). I went to the front desk and fortunately Carmelo was working. He spoke good English and understood my desperate situation. He made a few phone calls and in short order made arrangements for the Hotel to transport us to the local hospital. We were take there by Charles. When we go to the ER Charles clearly knew everyone and made sure we were taken care of (later found out Charles used to work for local ambulance company). He even made arrangements for us to be taken back to the hotel via one of the ambulances. It took almost a month for both my wife and I to recover. It wasn't until we returned that we found out that there had been several instances of people dying from the combination of the flu & strep throat this flu season. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to the kindness and compassion shown to us by Carmelo and Charles. Two very, very ill Americans in a foreign land with no local language skills. Our trip itself was pretty much a disaster, but, the experience of how we were treated so well by complete strangers will always be with us. Pictures are views from our room. This is all we really got to see of Salerno other than the local hospital

Location is fantastic, close to train station, the main shopping street, and a 5 minute walk to the Amalfi and Positano ferries.

The hotel is five minutes walk from the train station. Exit the train station and turn left and you will see it. The room is similar to the domestic express hotel. I just passed through the salerno and stayed for one night and could accept it.

I stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights. It wasn't my first choice but it was cheap, available at the last minute, and approximately 7-8 minutes via taxi from the ferry. The room was very outdated however, it was about 75 Euro per night and across the street from the Sea. Room features: Fridge, safe, air conditioning, daily room service and breakfast included. Hotel Breakfast: Breakfast runs from 0700-1000. I recommend arriving to breakfast around 0700-0800. The food was fresh and the selection included a variety of croissants filled with nutella or some sort of lemon filling. There was also cheese and deli meats, grapefruit juice, and fresh coffee. The bar will make you American coffee at request and you may get to enjoy a few songs as the guy that makes the coffee loves Frank Sinatra and will sing to you. Room: The room wasn't dirty but it desperately needs a renovation. The bathroom is very small when compared to American hotels and the towels were very hard. The bed was also very hard but again if you are looking for a place just to crash on a budget suck it up because its reasonable. The sheets/towels are changed daily and you don't have to request for this to be done. In fact there isn't even a option to place the little placard outside the door because there isn't one. You do receive the standard shower cap, shampoo, and tiny bars of soaps. The fridge is lightly stocked with whiskey, sparking water, mineral water, and a few sodas. The tv is about 17 in. but I didn't go to Italy to watch TV so that didn't matter. The kind staff makes up for the lack of amenities. Food: There isn't much to eat locally without a walk included. But also be aware that nothing opens until after 6 pm so plan accordingly unless you like McDonalds. There is one across the street that may be open 24 hours. Each time you leave the hotel you must turn your key back into the staff. This isn't a bad thing as you will never have to worry about losing it because it is attached to a heavy round keychain similar to a paperweight. The bellhop will also walk you to your room and carry your bags up the stairs. I believe the was an elevator available as well. When you leave... the maid will turn off your a/c so just don't take that personal they are trying to conserve. Overall, this place is average but doable for the price. Enjoy!

This place has the best location in Salerno. Close to town, restaurants, the best beach in the city. Parking is a virtual nightmare and you can hardly find any space. The room is okay. Not a lot of kitchen utensils to cook but the essentials. The coffee machine had stagnated water inside. They did not bring clean towels until third day. but it is a room in a great location. The room is either fantastic nor great. Just a normal okay room, hence, a bit overpriced. Would recommend and stay there again.
