0.53km from Temasek InternationalWhere do I even begin with this review?
Let me start off with the location of the place: it's pretty convenient since it's practically less than a 5-minutes walk from Bencoolen Station. There's a Cheers store on the opposite side of the road though it's not 24-hours. If you're ever feeling parched or hungry in the middle of the night, you could always walk to 7-Eleven that's over at Rendezvous Hotel that's a couple minutes walk away. Also it's near The Cathay / Plaza Sing for entertainment or food purposes so there's no need to waste money spending it on transport. This was something that I really liked about the hotel.
Next, let me talk about the cleanliness of the room[s]. The room we were given was super funky and it was a connecting room to another room? Me and my friend didn't think much about it at first though it did made us feel uneasy about it. There were crumbs all over the floor it made me uncomfortable walking around on bare feet. There were molds in the toilet and the phone wasn't working at all. Me and my friend didn't let it affect us since we were basically given what we have paid for.
The room was super cold though no matter what temperature we tried to adjust, it just felt like we were living in Antarctica. The following day, we were having our brunch in the room when I noticed a small cockroach waltzing around the sidetable to which I decide that enough was enough. How many bugs might have been around the place that night while we were sleeping??? While I may have turned a blind eye on things like there being crumbs in the room, the aircon being at the lowest temperature no matter the setting, the phone not working AND another thing that I will be mentioning in the next paragraph, I simply cannot turn a blind eye to this specific incident. I asked to be given a new room and luckily, I'm glad that they did.
The other room given was a LOT cleaner than the previous and it made me wonder just how long it has been since the previous room was cleaned? Let me also mention that the walls are thin since I was able to hear the TV from next door along with the screaming of children and conversations. There isnt much complaints about the second room as there was in the first.
About the service of the staffs in the hotel..... Upon check-in, we were greeted immediately by the staffs there which felt nice at first. This security uncle started making small talk with us and initially it was nice. I thought it was nice of him to make us feel welcomed and didn't think much about it until after I checked out the hotel. Anyway, the thing I wanted to point out was that when we were heading up to our room, he asked us which room we were staying and I don't know if that is a norm for someone at the hotel to be asking me such question? I do admit that since it caught me off-guard , we told him the room we were staying in and he looked surprised, if not anything. When I asked him why he was surprised, he shrugs it off and said it was nothing...
Why am I mentioning this? Me and my friend didn't think much of it initially and went ahead with our day. That night, by some stroke of luck, we found out that uncle security was staying in the room RIGHT NEXT TO US.... THAT'S IN THE OTHER CONNECTING ROOM. Is that even normal? Also, why wouldn't security uncle tell us he was staying next door? Or even, why did the hotel gave us a room thats connected to another room without telling us about it? It wasn't even mentioned in the option when we first chose that room. Otherwise, I would not have picked that option at all.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location of the place. I don't think I will ever return to this hotel ever again because there were some questionable things that was going on in that place and just... No.
