|3.11km from city centerThis has been the worst management/admin I have seen from an accommodation establishment. We booked in on the 26th of December. Upon arrival the reception lady on duty was not very welcoming or helpful. She looked uninterested and inconvenienced by our arrival(Keeping in mind we have booked far in advance). This being said we left at 04.30 the next morning. On the 28th my father noticed that he had forgotten one of his belongings at your facility. I then proceeded to contact your management/admin on phone calls and whatsapp messages. Up to today still NO answer or any sign of communication from your side. I will not be returning or recommending your establishment to anyone. This is a shame as your guesthouse really could do so much better if you drop the poor management.

The receptionists are very incompetent and have no manners whatsoever. They need to be reminded as to whom is paying their salaries. Breakfast service was poor, with chipped plates and coffee cups being given to us. For the price paid and what I received, I would have assumed I was in a hostel. Just left and went to wimpy where the service and meals were on standard. Will never be back and will ensure that my company books elsewhere next time.

The Guesthouse is a very friendly family run business and is located a short walk to the beach and the coastal path. The rooms have a very nice setting, around the swimming pool. We chose Room 4, which also accommodates a sofa bed. The room and en-suite were very spacious. Breakfast was very good and cooked to order.

|9.86km from city centerThe reception and bar look lovely and that is where it ends. We had lunch and breakfast there m, it was ok. The outside needs a coat of paint and so does the inside. They showed us to our room. I then googled what we paid for and this was the basic room. Back to reception and we waited to another room was ready. It was more than double the size. It desperately needed painting and updating. Towels where well worn and furniture old. The terrace was broken with bits of tiles everywhere. The pool was dirty. The tiles broken and a sewage smell. There was lots of noise from the road and bars. There was nothing to do in the town we only stayed for the airport and that was a mistake. Avoid they have really let this get run down.

Excellent service and prompt attention when we encountered issues with the electrics - we were quickly and efficiently moved to an alternative room and were even offered a move to the Garden house. I was so delighted with the looks of the place and the service of the staff, that I informed my colleagues about it to check it out for future guests! Tasteful breakfast, peaceful place where you can really come to rest. If I have to say something that can be improved: the TV was not a smart TV and there were some ants in the house. Other than that no remarks whatsoever. IF there was an issue, they would immediately respond and look for a solution!

|8.86km from city centerWe arrived a little early for our room, but there didn't seem to be a problem and we were soon shown to our room. This was supposed to be a luxury sea facing room. It was neither. My husband went straight back down to reception. They said they only had twin beds in a luxury, sea facing room. We decided to go for that. Again, it was not luxury in any sense of the word. As it was only one night, we settled. Toilet seat was a cheap plastic that folded up when you got up. Rusty unit on the balcony. Barely a sea view. Chipped paintwork. Mouldy bathroom. The food in the restaurant was very good and so was the breakfast. Staff in the restaurant were very good. Reception not that great - they need to be more welcoming. The whole hotel really needed an uplift though. It is not on the beach as advertised, it is sideways on and a block away! False advertising.

My request for a sea facing room was granted despite the hotel being fully booked which took some reshuffling on their part. All staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast at the guesthouse everyday and ate several evening meals as well. Everything was delicious. We also loved that the guesthouse is well located, a short drive from anywhere in town and only a 5 minute walk to the beach! I would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others visiting the beautiful, friendly town of Gqeberha!

This is my preferred place always when I am in PE. The Staff is very kind, I love the old lady, our flight was in the afternoon, and she allowed us to stay a bit longer. The breakfast was more than sufficient, with a varied content and a nice touch of a homemade recipe. The street seems safe, and there is a private parking. City Lodge hotel offered a reasonable rates and we also had to try their buffet breakfast. Our family had the absolute time of their life! The kids first time at a hotel and they absolutely enjoyed their stay and the amazing selection at the buffet breakfast. The staff were so friendly and the place is neat ang clean! This hotel is my ultimate choice!

The level of hospitality is truly outstanding, making our stay incredibly welcomed, comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's incorporation of a wonderful art deco building with matching interior adds a distinctive touch to the overall experience. Staying in a place that seamlessly combines accommodation with a kind of museum creates a unique and enriching atmosphere, making the stay all . You just expect that Marlene Dietrich come down the staircase after filming the latest Josef von Sternberg Movie :-) The first night we stayed at the Executive Suite at Hotel No5 which is great. Elegantly designed and well-appointed, it provides a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The attention to detail in the decor and amenities makes the stay in the Executive Suite truly memorable. For the second night we choose to stay at the presidential suite which, in our opinion, is a true masterpiece. The tasteful and authentic furnishings create an atmosphere of opulence and grandeur. As we then had to extend for even one more night the staff really cared about us and was very helpful. The hotel has a charming small pool area, offering a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Additionally, the on-site restaurant is of a high quality, we tried it for dinner and room service and were never disappointed. Our stay at Hotel No5 by Manis in Port Elizabeth was very nice, great service , an unique art deco museum setting and great rooms.
