Celebrated my 50th and retirement at the Pavillion room and have to say the event was fun and memorable thanks to the Hotel Event Coordinator And the entire sales and events team. From the beginning of our conversation, Janice the coordinator knew exactly what my vision of the event was and exceeded my expectations. She was able to block rooms for my guests and made it convenient for them to book online with a special link. I was extremely happy with how the event turned out and got lots of raving reviews of how nice everything was. The overall planning was simple and convenient as Janice walked me through costs and even recommended certain vendors if I needed them. All in all I highly recommend hosting an event or celebration at their hotel, its well worth it! They even sent up a nice complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries to congratulate my retirement and birthday, a real nice touch. I also received free breakfast coupons to enjoy the morning after my celebration, which was pretty tasty. All of the staff treated me so nicely given it was a big celebration and milestone. We even met the Chef who prepared the food the night of the event. The only criticism I received was the chicken Marsala was a bit dry and could use more sauce, but given the meal was served to almost 200 guests, I could see how the bulk and quantity could diminish the quality but still Not bad overall. I was happy with the Easy planning and it was very well organized and coordinated! Thanks Four Points, Janice and entire team for making my day so special❤️

It's hard to give a fair review for an establishment that can not run business as usual because of COVID-19 restrictions but here is my assessment under the circumstances. Hotel was in a convenient location. Parking was plentiful but cost $14 per day which seems ridiculous to me but surrounding hotels charged even more. The lobby was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was kinda small but clean. The beds were not that comfortable but not horrible. Non smoking hotel but had a covered smoking area which was nice. Had several entrances besides front lobby that was closer to our room so that was also nice. No housekeeping, no breakfast, and had to make an appointment to use the pool because of COVID-19. I understand the restrictions but the beach hotel we stayed at prior that week had no pool restrictions just mask required. The biggest reason for the 3 out of 5 was not COVID-19 related. Our sink over flowed twice. Had water running everywhere and it was sewer water so it was dirty and stunk. Called the front desk at 10pm and they said we would have to change rooms because they had no maintenance at night. I said aren't you going to come see about this now it's kinda an emergency and needs to be dealt with whether we move rooms or not. They said just put a bucket under it. Ummm ok I'll just take care of it myself and so I proceeded to grab a trashcan and empty water from sink to bathtub. I was a bit upset at the situation but they did comp my room that night. So considering Covid limitations which the staff cannot help my overall experience was not the best but not the worst I have ever had either. I honestly think this would be a great hotel without Covid restrictions.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had absolutely nothing to complain about. When we checked in, Ilaise (sp?) at the front desk was a delight and a great ambassador for any hotel. The room was beautiful and new and I especially loved the closet organizer. The pool was nice for a dip in the afternoon and the firepit was fun to sit around at night to meet and talk to other hotel guests. Breakfast was adequate and convenient. The location was fairly central to anything we wanted to do...nothing more than a 20 minute drive. I would highly recommend!

This Ramada is one of San Diego's hotel industries hidden gems. Formerly known as The Sands, in the 60s and 70s, this location more of a home like resort feel. Live jazz and blues at Proud Mary's restaurant is also a good time. The staff is friendly and always accommodating. Thanks Christina, Emily, and Gabriel for making my stay always enjoyable.

Needed to be just north of San Diego and this location was perfect. Rate was pretty reasonable for the area. It's right off the freeway and there are a lot of restaurant's near by including Anny's fine burger which I highly recommend. Room was comfortable. Bed was a little too soft. Bathroom was clean. The window opened about 4 inches which was great except it made a huge racket as the wind would get trapped in the door entryway and howl. I could hear it down the hallway. Just one staff member for check-in and she had a surge of people right before me so took about 10 minutes to get my room key. I had e-checked in and she said I should have told her. She was very nice. Do not remember her name. Parking was easy and free. Did not use the workout facility. Oatmeal was runny. Would stay again.

This particular Motel 6 was very clean and very quiet. The staff were amazingly friendly and worked hard to ensure all my needs were met quickly. The hotel is located down the street from several restaurants and businesses, which a lot of them are within walking distance. Being so close to businesses, crime could be a concern for some guests, but it wasn’t for me because I observed the San Diego Police Department making daily, routine patrols on the premises. Overall, I had an excellent stay, and staff members like Maritza who takes pride in providing outstanding customer service makes it easy to consider Motel 6 San Diego North or other Motel 6 establishments in the future.

..a microwave. It would've been nice to have one to reheat the ribs from STP BBQ across the street( excellent!) Other than that it was perfect. Very clean & very quiet. We had a non-smoking room, so we'd step outside to smoke & watched the parking lot fill up, great for business but we were thinking about how loud it may get? It never did. Lastly, we were able to leave our trailer at an agent, so we bob-tailed over. I'm not sure if truck parking is allowed on the street behind the hotel?

PRO's: Price, location was very close to shopping, food & the highway, kind & friendly staff, no bed bugs, room was a good size, locked facilities after 10 pm, no funny business with the room rate or with my credit card, no issues with theft, free parking, heat & A/C in room, WI-FI, cable, microwave, frig, pool, sauna and small pond. Less than 2 hours from Disneyland & Universal Studios. CON's: 1) extremely outdated and in need of a deep cleaning. The carpet was ragged/dirty, old scratched furniture, shower sprayed water from the top of the pipe, wallpaper was peeling, drapes & blinds were dirty, tiled floor was sticky, weird stains on walls in some spots, cabinets and light fixtures were rusted. Sprayed the room down with lysol, did a thorough scrubbing with my own cleaning materials and wore flips flops in the room. 2) The breakfast was very basic (bagles and a banana or an apple) 3) could hear my neighbor snoring This hotel had so many great amenities and the front desk staff and housekeepers were all very nice. However, the condition of the hotel lowered my rating to a 3. If you are looking for a hotel to only lay your head and safely store your belongings... this will definitely be the place for you. Thank you :)

This place is classic extended stay quality. I’ve been coming to this hotel chain for 20 years and different locations are better than others. Well this location has a desk clerk by the name of Jadixon, and he has made my stay much better through his professional and respectful customer service technique. People like Jadixon put the cherry on top of an already awesome hotel environment. The room was immaculate, the kitchenette clean and spacious, and the location off of Murphy drive is close enough to the 15 to be convenient but far enough not to hear the traffic. Stay here if you like to get your moneys worth!

Overall I enjoyed my stay. My bf and I booked the room for a week for work. Good location, good rate, and rooms were equipped with a fridge and microwave. The only gripe is that there were a lot of families with kids during our stay and none of the children were quiet. I understand children can get stir crazy and bored in hotel rooms and we ignored the noise during the day but at night we want quiet. The family above us had kids who were jumping off the bed and skipping and jumping throughout the day and night. Our neighbors had a kid that looked to be about 6 who was energetic and was a runner as well and he was not quiet. We called the front desk and they were uncaring. They called back and said the family told them they just got back and it was not them. Had they sent anyone to that floor vs calling they would have beard the child jumping off the bed. They never checked . I feel all the residents should be able to enjoy quiet's night sleep. Probably would not stay again for that. A good nights sleep is important to get in the room.

I traveled alone on business and this is my 4th Extended Stay hotel in San Diego. It has perfect location - between Balboa Park, Sea World, Old town and just 20 min from the airport. Yolanda and Diana at reception took great care of me and my new iPhone Pro Max. My charger did not work and they found the replacement! Wow! It' has beautiful Festive decoration with live Christmas tree. They serve coffee and tea, oat meal, brownie and cupcake in the morning and evening. Very nice and safe place, close to major attractions. Great value for money.

Haven’t stayed here in awhile since they renovated but also note they are still renovating. We didn’t hear any construction but the front desk does advise of possible noise or disturbance. We booked the family connector room which is basically a king room and an adjoining room with 2 doubles. They both have a desk area and mini refrigerators. The king room has a small loveseat sitting area. The rooms are very modern with faux wood flooring, fixtures very modern throughout the room with adequate USB and electrical outlets which a large desk area. The one thing I found odd was the closet/clothing rack was located in the bathroom. I understand not wanting to use space in the room for a closet but just odd to me. We had balconies in both rooms although seemed like the area hadn’t a been swept or cleaned. Understand that it’s outside and maybe the wind swept up some dirt but there was a giant hair ball on the ground in the balcony. The front desk staff was very friendly. During covid there is limited staff in general and the lounge is not open. We ordered breakfast and had to wait to order and even worse to get our food the wait was extremely long. The pools was open and is open until 11pm which was a plus. Pool area was very clean and relaxing. Parking is not free and valet is currently not available. Parking spaces are super tight.

Misson Bay / Loma Heights
Booked this place to celebrate my daughters, niece, and brothers bday. Unfortunately, the rooms that we booked, which was the bungalow garden view were not what we expected. The online adverstisement showed more luxurious and beautiful rooms. Our room was supposed to have a separate living area, and bedroom but it was the other way around. We walked into a bed in the living room with the kitchenette and a dining table. The tv was placed in the corner, in between a window and a door. There is a separate room with a pull out couch and a tv, which should’ve been in the living room.. due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were expecting a clean room, but I ended up cleaning this place up. The drapes, curtains were filthy!!!! The counters, tables were dusty!!! The coffee machine and supplies looked like it has been sitting there for ages; microwave had a lot of stains.. no rugs in the room and made it really cold, and did not feel cozy at all. When you’re on vacation and paying $600/night (bungalow garden view) the room should be at the highest standard and guests will have the highest expectations given the fact that you are paying this kind of money.. we wanted a place where we can rest up and relax.. Unfortunately, when we walked in, we wanted to leave right away- the room that we booked was supposed to have a separate living and bedroom space. But it was the other way around. The bed was in the living area along with kitchenette and dining area. There’s a separate room w a couch and a tv. It was cold and it didn’t feel welcoming.. during this Covid 19 pandemic, the rooms should be extra clean, the walls had stains and the floor is dirty.. we requested extra blankets but had holes on them. This is not what we expected at the rooms are not worth the price- Needs a lot of improvement!!!!!! U can get a $300-400/night with the same amenities plus a very nice room.. this place Maybe need to hire better housekeeping company. Paying this kind of money, our expectAtions were high and very disappointed. On top of that, we can hear people next door so we didn’t not have a good nights sleep. So far this resort have been the most disappointing as far as the room situation. We hope to see improvements on the bungalow garden view and lanai rooms in the future.. clean, cozy, and well decorated rooms.. On a good note, the resort is beautiful; good location. One of the reason why we stayed in our bungalow is because we had a nice view of the bay and steps away from the sand- that kind of made the room situation better.. There are 5 pools on property, our family enjoyed their time at the pool. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves. Our kids loved the fact that they can walk around the property, rode their scooters. There’s a rental place for bikes, etc.. and other activities on site. Fire pit for s’mores nights are also available on a first come, first serve. It was also convenient for us to be able to walk to the restaurants on property. The island market is

When you first get there I felt like I had traveled back in time to the age of the Titanic. We were met by a very helpful valet host who held the door open for us and offered to assist with our luggage. Check in was fast and pretty smooth, Daniel was quick and friendly. They give you an old school (with a modern chip) metal key. Was cool but if you dont have a key ring/chain was tricky keeping tabs of. The rooms were very nice. The bathroom is grande that's for sure with gold plated metal hardware, a large vanity and nice complimentary array of personal hygiene care. I was on the 16th floor. Great view of the city. The room had a Keurig (never used it) a small fridge and a safe which you use a personal credit card to lock and unlock. The desk was very nice and there were 2 large seats. The gym facilities were amazing to use. The pool deck was also spectacular with a 1/10 mile rubber track, a crossfit area and spin class area. The classes cost $10 for guest but are worth up. I was there for a week long conference. The hotel staff were always very friendly and quick to open a door for you. The entire hotel is beautiful. The front desk members including Daniel were helpful in giving suggestions for places to eat and directions. The hotel bar and restaurant are pretty spectacular. Only visited it once on Thursday the 13th. The bartender could have been a little friendlier for me and my friends who had a couple of cocktailmls a piece. The only drawback and this isn't anything on the hotel are the public electric street cars. From 4:30 am until 1 to 2 am they horn signal is louder then anything even 16 stories high making it difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper such as myself. Besides that if were to visit San Diego again I would seriously consider staying at the Westgate again as well as suggesting it to others. And on my last day I had the assistance from the concierge woman in checking out. She informd me she had been there for a long time and it showed. Her knowledge of the hotel and its culture were excellent. She took a lot of pride in the hotel and was very friendly. Thank you for the accommodations.

Booked the hotel in Sept 2020, based on nostalgia from multiple past stays back over the last 10 years. Back then the hotel used to have a cool boutique vibe to it, with a happening rooftop scene, and cool amenities included in the hefty resort fee, such as fresh complementary cold brew coffee in the morning, complementary wine at happy hour in the lobby, free bike rentals, etc. While Solamar still falsely advertises those amenities on its website and still charges the hefty daily resort fee, the only complementary amenity now offered is slow Wi-Fi. I know they'll say it's probably all due to Covid, but then either stop charging the resort fee or make edits to your website, right? Other than that, the cool vibe is gone. The hotel shows its age, the staff is apathetic. Once that happens, the place becomes just another hotel with small, noisy, dirty rooms and no life whatsoever. But they still do charge that resort fee...

Check in was a breeze and I got a great ocean front, 3rd floor room!!! PERFECT! Underground parking for the rental car was nice to have!! Great view from the balcony of the ocean and boardwalk. Was great sleeping to the ocean roar at night! The cleanings ladies were outstanding and room was cleaned every early afternoon. Some good choices just down the boardwalk to the North to eat at, prices not that bad. Good place for breakfast across the street at 20/20 cafe. My favorite burger place was at Mission Burger. Woody's was good too, but always busy with a line. For a evening meal and bar, World Famous right next to the Hotel was the place to go!! Fast service at the bar!....went to MCRD for graduation, to see and laugh for old times sake....Balboa Park good Auto and Air museum...Good photo ops of aircraft landing at SAN. Ralph's Grocery a short walk to the north to get Groceries or pop for the room...Will be back next March for my 50th Graduation from Boot Camp!!! Good massage and Spa at the motel across the street to the East....A drive to Silver Strand beach is a great place for sunset photos too...

Came here for wedding anniversary, and loved the property! The grounds were very well kept, the golf course is beautiful, the trails were nice (not strenuous even though the signs say so), very pet friendly, the pools were warm and still open during covid-19 (Canon and Alex were extremely helpful), the service in general was perfect. Addison was the highlight of our stay, the meal was beautiful and delicious and happy they offered a white truffle dish. One disappointing part of our trip however was the Spa. I booked 2 massages for myself and my husband, and his was decent whereas mine was very much underwhelming to the point that I wondered if my masseuse was even licensed. I told her that my pain points were my neck and shoulders and if she could focus on that area more, and she didn't. She used no pressure and oddly focused more on my arms and feet, using just stoking strides which was weird. She also didn't tell me about the mask option because I couldn't breath with my mask on and she gave no direction with that - i ended up loosening it up a bit on my own so that I could breath. My husband later told me that his masseuse gave him direction and told him that if it was harder to breath, he can remove his mask because there was some sort of cup thing under the headrest which was fine. The massage rooms were outdoor cabanas due to covid-19 which initially sounded romantic, but in reality it was not relaxing due to a dog that was chewing on a squeaky toy half the time in a nearby hotel room (not the hotel's fault though and we love dogs, but just not ideal during a massage) and people talking loudly nearby. Since my husband got a decent massage, I chalk it up to just getting someone that wasn't good and/or didn't care to provide a good experience. Overall, it was a nice experience even during the covid-19 times. Everything was clean, sanitizer around every corner and I felt pretty safe on the property. We would definitely come back again! I would just be weary of the spa and ask for someone with more experience. They also just started putting up the Christmas decorations, and the place looks even more magical for the holidays!

Timing is everything - ours wasn't great. My Wife was due to attend a Conference from March 8th, it was cancelled at the last minute, but we travelled anyway.. Let's just say it was quiet. This enormous Hotel, has over 1,600 Bedrooms in two high-rise Towers, with support facilities. Occupancy was low when we arrived, and declined further over our 5 night stay. Unsurprisingly, some of the usual services closed down or were restricted, due to low demand. But we quite enjoyed our stay, for all the unforeseen limitations - more painful for the many staff laid-off than for us, it's fair to say. Our 25th Floor Room was comfortable & had a good view. We had a few Glasses of Wine in the (subsequently closed) "Brew 30 Bar" the first evening. The "Seaview Restaurant", for Breakfast, had good options ; Sammy, our Server on 1 morning, was excellent. We also used the 24 hour "Market/One" facility : staff attentiveness here was "mixed" (they were mainly absorbing the TV News). Front-Desk / Guest Services people were generally capable and responsive : we especially commend Jackson, and, above all, Caroline S, who could not have been more helpful with advice + some problem-solving - many thanks, Caroline, for your friendly care and attention! By the way, the Hotel was impressively conscientious in providing Hand Sanitizing facilities, with safely usable Dispensers dispersed throughout the public areas : well done! We departed with a generally favorable view of the "Manchester Grand Hyatt".
