|1.45km from city centerDespite the centre of Surin not being as flashy and big as Bangkok, Fortune Mansion brings comfort and class to the area. Along with their cheap room prices, the staff are friendly and helpful. Do be warned that their English is very basic though, but this was not a problem for us. We have stayed here 3 separate times already, each for one night as we travelled around Surin. We have had rooms at the front of the hotel with both a double and twin beds. Both if these were VERY CLEAN and all facilities worked. All rooms are equipped with a fridge, meaning if you walk to the 7/11 which is two minutes down the road, you can store breakfast here. Fortune Mansion does not provide breakfast so be prepared. The back area of the hotel with more expensive rooms is amazing. We had a double bed room at the back and it was modern, again very clean, had a large amazing bathroom and the beds everywhere are very comfy. Overall, I’d recommend going to the back of the hotel for a room for more luxury as it only cost us 100baht more. However the front is still just as good. Very clean, modern, comfy beds, warm showers and overall a great hotel especially for the low price!

|0.48km from city centerMy partner and I stayed here for a week to visit her family, who she hadn't seen for about three years, thanks to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We found the place ideally located, close to the Night Markets in Central Surin City. We also had a hire car, so albeit small, the car park came in particularly useful for us. The style of the hotel is completely unique and a bit of an experience; it feels ”industrial”, yet ”natural”, with the concrete floors and jungle-like garden. This, however, makes the hotel no less comfortable, though and I was pleasantly surprised with the facilities and bedding, in particular. The first night we were there, the hotel did not have WiFi (which is included in the nightly rate), I was not really able to ascertain why, but the next day it was working, which enabled us to use the TV for Netflix. Breakfast is included in the great-value rate (this may have been an Agoda special; I'm not really sure), and although simple, it does the job. I don't believe there was any dinner, as we ordered Grab Food for dinner most nights, which is still good value. Nonethless, basis our experience on this occasion, we'll definitely be returning to The Wood next time we are in Surin!

|2.6km from city centerBecause friends live nearby, I have stayed several times and for numerous days at a time. Its location is perfect for me. This hotel is on the edge of town and quiet. It is not close to any attractions and nowhere really, to walk to from here. It's not remote, just not close to anything worthy. There is a place to grab a drink adjoining the entry from the main road, which, of course, is mostly populated by locals. The rooms are all very clean, serviced every day, and the staff is as helpful as they can but do not speak english. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is large with the classic thai shower. I am usually on the side viewing the abutting farm (rice?) and like to wake up amd watch the owner/tender go about their daily routine depending on the season. There is a small restaurant which has been closed since covid. Not sure it will reopen. I'd like to see the fountain out front working..I'm not sure if it's broken or just a budget concern. This is not a fancy hotel but the AC and hot water work, and you get new towels daily. For me, most important is very clean rooms. Great stay for the price. Tipping is not expected in this part of Thailand but if you stay, leave a few baht for the cleaning staff. Oh, during the rainy season you might have to ahare the bathroom with a few tiny guests (not pests). Don't be alarmed. They need water too, are harmless, and I've never seen them outside the bathroom. Gecko roam the lobby walls and sometimes the hall and likely in your room. This unavoidable in 90% of Thailand, but they are mosquito and bug eaters, so i like. If these added attractions put you off, Thailand is not for you.

Apart from that the staff where great, the place is spotless and the maid service is excellent

We booked twice. Day 17-19 is Superior room and 19-20 is a Suite room because Superior is full when arriving on the 17th because we don't want to move the room, so we ask to upgrade to a Suite. The staff will think we add 5,000 baht per night!!! By saying that it is the walk in price of the suite room deducted by the price of the superior room booked from the internet, so we chose to move the room better. But for the hotel It may be better if you think the price difference at the same standard (for example, the walk in price of the suite is deducted by the walk in the superior room. ) which we were ready to pay, and the suite room was unfortunately left blank for two days.
The first room we stayed in was 414 at the end of the left corridor. Spacious, quiet and clean, but just above the kitchen. Started to smell from preparations from one o'clock in the morning. When I arrived in the morning, the smell was so strong that I had to ask to move the room on the second night.
Room 208, bed head light does not work. The shower hangers fall off. And the walls of the room are quite thin that you can hear the sound of opening and closing the light switch from the next room.
The last night, Suite 311 is very spacious, well proportioned, both kitchen and living room, very well decorated.
Safety is a little worrying because the elevator can be accessed from the road at all.
Roof top doesn't look as clean as it should be.
The gym also allowed to turn on one air conditioner, although there are 3 units, a fan needs to be blown.
breakfast,although there are many kinds of choices,some things are gone very early(from 8 o'clock),and the filling is delayed.there are few varieties,but it may be better to be taken care of continuously.
However, this is a very good hotel and can be fully recommended to stay.

|5.78km from city centerRoom # 512 \ 1 x Night Stay \ Booked via Agoda This Resort is 'value for your money' We were passing thru from Mukdahan to Korat and wanted to break the journey at Surin. The Martina Hotel did the trick very nicely. What surprised us was how quiet at night the Resort is and also how well kept the rooms are. Most hotels get tired and scuff marks but our room was excellent. All staff interactions were friendly and check in was a breeze. They have an onsite restaurant with indoor \ outdoor eating available, also open 18 hours a day!! We would happily book and stay here again anytime in the future.

|4.6km from city centerThis place is a little bit out of town but still walkable (I walked here from the railway station), but if you come by car, each room has its own parking spot, motel style...from the outside this hotel doesn't look like much, however the rooms are clean and well equipped, big flatscreen tv and fridge, comfortable bed...I scored a very good rate online, and was upgraded from a standard to a vip room upon arrival, much appreciated! The guy at the reception spoke zero english, but he was friendly and helpful nevertheless...nearby on the corner to the main road a 7-eleven, and some food stalls as well...

It is very quiet and the room is spacious and comfortable.
This is not a blackout curtain, so it is very bright in the morning.
There is no breakfast, but bananas, snacks and coffee are provided on the table next to the sofa on the first floor.

Bathroom had all we required. Rooms are a little dated and could do with an upgrade. Pool are very good, with sun lounges along one side. Could do with some extra tables and chairs with umbrellas. No space to sit if lounges (5 only) were taken. Includes breakfast which was good. Mostly Asian style. Plenty of fruit. Eggs cooked to order if required. Good coffee. Didn’t eat in restaurant except for breakfast.
Staff very friendly and helpful but with very little English. Translation App on phone a lifesaver.

(we arrived at the hotel and checked in at about 6 o'clock in the evening).
.. When I arrived at the lobby, tell the staff that ”Check in, book through Trip”, the staff only asked the name. And then waited a long time Finding information in a big scale, it took 20 minutes to get a room (2nd floor, room 212).
🔒 Go up to the room The key card can't open the room!! Back down again Staff changed a new room (room 210).
⚠️ Enter the room, the first touch is the musty smell, even if it looks new.
✔️ There is a small refrigerator to soak 2 bottles of water, cool air conditioner is good, TV can watch normal, shower spread water well Warm water is fast, good use.
❗️ The mattress is quite hard. Moving a little, there is always an exclamation sound.
❌️ But the most unacceptable thing is the toilet toilet. Sit and shake like not strong. and whether it's heavy and lightly shooting Press the toilet water is flowing out of the toilet base. which does not have a chemical mortar!!
❌️ Swimming pool, no water!! Because it is renovating But sold the room without notice clearly Lose the feeling here as well Because my daughter intends to go to play in the water Therefore find to reserve a hotel with a swimming pool

Understand that the new hotel is being renovated. But if not ready to provide 100% full service, then the renovation is officially closed. Do not open for customers to stay at all. It loses feeling
