|2.98km from city center1st, I have been there for over a 7-month stay. So I know the place very well. The general manager as of 9/2022, seems to me, fits more as an ASSISTANT manager. Whoever is doing the hiring doesn't seem to know how to do it well. They consistently hire low-quality people who don't think well. I consistently wonder how she got the title ”General Manager”. The general manager is a little bit too nice to people and they overrun her many times. Considering this hotel allows pets, dogs, and cats in particular, along with people consistently walking in and out of the hotel, you would think they would keep their rugs clean! NOPE! The main hallway rugs are only cleaned once every 2 or 3 months IF THAT! They don't seem to care or be aware much of the cleanliness of the hallway rugs. They can't keep employees for more than 3 months. I counted the amount of time new employees stay at the hotel and I counted on average they stay a max or less than 3 months. Looking at it from an employee's point of view, it doesn't seem like a fun place to work lol. The night staff aren't very competent many times. They only hire 1 front staff member in the front for the night. The logic in that? I don't know! One front staff member went out for a smoke and had 3 guests (including me) waiting at the desk for over 5 minutes. He came back, looking at his eyes I can tell he wasn't smoking cigarettes lol! Their housekeeping process is weird. Instead of giving the guests the option early on to ask for housekeeping when the guests want it, the hotel seems to feel it's best to send a housekeeper to your door anytime between 9-11 am, knocking to see if you want housekeeping. That can be VERY annoying to many guests hearing ”Housekeeping” at 9 am in the morning during a quiet and peaceful morning. Speaking of low-quality staff, there are many times when the housekeepers don't clean well also! Many times they do a half job! Then, the staff/managers don't do a great enough job telling the guests to place their trash in the TRASH ROOM and NOT outside of their door! It should be common sense in general for guests to know not to place their trash outside their door while staying at a hotel. However, many people don't understand common sense these days and don't think well for themselves. This is why I feel the managers should make it their goal to speak with specific guests who leave their trash outside their doors. If this is to be a hotel of cleanliness, wouldn't that be OBVIOUS to be aware of this matter and stay on top of it? Oh, they only have 1 maintenance guy who ONLY works M-Fri! When I heard that I was like WHAT? They literally only have 1 maintenance guy on their staff and NO other one in general, and he only works m-fri 9-5 pm. Does that make sense? Imagine if you have an emergency on a Saturday night. Think you can wait till Monday? Depends on the emergency. That's IF the guy even remembers to get to your room Monday at that lol! Overall,

|2.72km from city centerWas going to give 4 stars however I deducted one more star due to the cigarette smoking spot. I don’t care if you want to smoke, the unfortunate part is where they have their dedicated smoking area is that it’s in the nicest part of the hotel grounds. It’s between the breakfast area and pool right off the main lobby. There is a great breakfast in the morning with tables right outside this area, but virtually no one was eating out here because of the people smoking and ash trays on the tables. Literally, move the smoking area anywhere else on the grounds. Ok aside from that grievance, the rest of the hotel is decent. Staff was nice, especially the guy working the breakfast station. He was working hard, was polite, enthusiastic, and getting everyone what they needed. Rooms were decent, a bit dated but you could tell they were making some upgrades. Bed was comfy and the pillows were 5/5 due to them not being the crappy feather ones your head falls right through. Bravo! Hallways are definitely in need of new carpet. Long-standing stains and again, the smell of cigarettes lingered. The room did not smell so we had no issues with it there. Pool area is beautiful and perfect for lounging. I would recommend this hotel if you are someone with moderate expectations. It’s also in a great location to the mall and Green Lake state park.

|3.01km from city centerTo be transparent, my view is a bit biased since my car was hit (and run) in the parking lot. I know it isn't the hotel's responsibility but 1) there are no security cameras covering the parking lot (a basic safety issue in my book) and 2) hotel management said they would help with an incident report which they did not. This incident to the aside, there are other issues. To start the hvac units are old and loud. I am a Gold level customer and these are some of the worst that I have experienced. Second, I don't know where they were hiding, but the front desk was frequently unmanned. I saw this delay check-in including my own. Third, there were towels and trash stacked in the hallway down from our room when we arrived (late afternoon) Hello housekeeping? A couple of other nits that I won't repeat but I don't see how this place is up to Marriott standards. Management was certainly not on its game last weekend.

|3.04km from city centerI was looking for a last minute hotel to stay in for a super early flight the next morning. I usually steer clear of Red Roof Inn type of hotels, but this not technically a Red Roof Inn, and the pictures online looked pretty decent. Decided to book and that was a HUGE mistake. Arrived and there was a woman in a car next to us that was clearly on some type of drugs. Quickly went inside where the staff behind the counter was dealing with a sketchy guy who insisted on tipping her which she ultimately dismissed. While he was putting his hand back into his pocket we noticed a bag of drugs in his hands. Got checked into the room, and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever stayed in. There was long hair all over the bathroom floor, a disgusting dirty wash cloth hanging from the shower curtain, there were stains all over the sheets, bedding had holes in it, door was broken, pillows were stained. Oh, and when I booked online it said it was non refundable, and when checking in this was the only room that was non smoking. Do not let the pictures online get you like they got me. I have added my photos that should be displayed on their website.

|2.72km from city centerAll staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Very clean. Didn’t have an opportunity to use pool or gym but they looked very clean. Wish there was a better selection for breakfast and the beer/seltzer selection was low. Not terrible. I would definitely stay again!
