The room is clean and even has a stove and all kitchen utensils in case you want to eat on some days you’re there. On the last day, we went to the National Park and had nowhere to store our baggage the guy at the front desk held our stuff till 8 pm and worked extra so we could come to pick them up!! When I took my children to the swimming pool, the waiter's attitude was extremely bad. He was only targeting Chinese people. There were a whole room of people in the room. He insisted that we speak loudly and specially recorded a video. Our voices were not ours at all. It was extremely outrageous! It feels a bit racist towards the Chinese! Not satisfied with the service here! A video of the swimming pool is provided so that everyone can see why we were so noisy. The massage SPA is arranged next to the swimming pool. It is not a bath, so how can there be no sound! When checking in, you can write a clear statement stating that children are not allowed to stay and no sound is allowed while swimming! It's so ridiculous. There was basically no sound from our child in this video. When the waiter came in, he came straight to us and asked us to remind the child to keep it down, but we didn't make any noise at all! Time and time again! This is the worst hotel experience!

He really put his effort making so many calls when the rental car didn't response well, but finally all problem solved. And he sent his regard throe his friend at front desk on my second check in after 7 days traveling to Split and Dubrovnik, his name also Tony and he also very friendly.
Thanks to both of you Toni & Tony ( I hope I didn't wrong spelling your name )
It's highly recommend for all type of traveler, the room is very quite, I can't hear anything from next room or outside, sleep like a baby. I love the spacious shower room and all luxury amenities. If not mistaken I think this is a brand new hotel.
Since i drive a car, for me location is not important, 8 minutes drive to the old town, not too far. I like the neighborhood is so quite.
Breakfast has many menus and tasty too.
Overall is perfect , one thing I don't like is the dimming lights.
If they have a brighter light, I will be so happy.

I stayed at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel with high expectations given its historic prestige, but one employee’s unprofessional behavior significantly tarnished my experience.
Upon arrival, I mistakenly entered the hotel’s parking area as the parking gate opened. After realizing the error, I proceeded to the lobby, completed check-in, and moved my car to the designated drop-off zone for valet service. At this point, a parking attendant aggressively confronted me—hands on hips, speaking in a condescending tone, and demanding how I’d accessed the area. His demeanor was more suited to scolding a trespasser than addressing a paying guest.
To be fair, the front desk and concierge staff were perfectly polite and efficient. Had I not encountered this particular employee, my overall impression would have been positive. But for a hotel branding itself as a luxury establishment, even one hostile interaction is unacceptable. A guest’s entire perception can be undone by a single moment of poor service.
The incident casts doubt on the hotel’s training standards. Why does such a disparity in staff attitudes exist? I hope management addresses this, as no amount of century-old tradition excuses rudeness. Until then, I’d hesitate to return or recommend Esplanade Zagreb without caution.

Walk along the woods down the mountain for ten minutes to the pedestrian street. It is best to take a taxi back, but be careful to be slaughtered. Taxi drivers in various cities in Croatia will work together, and I will get 59 for three kilometers. I was entangled and didn't want this kind of ethos to be nurtured. I ran to ask the hotel lady. The lady was very cute and rushed out to the theory. The driver also threatened me and Miss Sister to call the police. I said okay. The police speed was very fast, more than ten minutes, and I coordinated for a long time. I said that I understand that the luxury model you drove has a weekend price increase. 20 is the highest, otherwise it is exempt from discussion. Finally, the driver dropped from 50 to 46 and solved it at the last 20 of 30.
I left the hotel the next day and left a thank you note for the hotel lady, leaving the money saved the day before as a tip to her, I hope she can see this comment.
Although I encountered bad things, but most people are very cute. Money is not a problem, I think I should choose to do the right thing!

Very spacious room. That's right... BEWARE! On TRIP it said FREE PARKING… and we had to pay €7 per day… nothing free…
I would recommend it if I would return while passing through Zagreb… breakfast, for example, is included and is very varied and delicious!!!

What compensation did we receive? Access to a pool at another hotel. The problem was that those pools were indoors. After several complaints and calls to Trip.com, we received 15% of the booking fee back. In my opinion, that was not sufficient, but it is what it is. Everything else was fine.

|0.38km from Zagreb Main Bus StationWhat began as a suspiciously underpriced, gorgeously designed, epicentrically located property with heart and smiles for days...turned into a psychotic, abusive nightmare, like something straight out of Rosemary’s Baby.
Never in all my days, in all the hundreds of properties and thousands of nights in everything from backpacker hostels to five-star suites, have I been subjected not simply to bad service (fixable) but outright and unrepentant hostility, harassment and torment by the staff. Unbelievable.
As the gentleman and professional many know me to be, I in good faith detailed the infractions, called for a GM meeting, recommended simple solutions, had multiple follow-up meetings, and presumed the offending micro-tyrants would be disciplined and neutralized. They weren’t. It only got worse. And worse still.
Think, stalking, door slamming, man-handling my iPad (verboten), shorting guest change when paying by cash in the bar (witnessed multiple times), having aggressive security called for eating in an otherwise public area five minutes beyond a theretofore unknown “rule,” asking me repeated and pointedly “how long I would be staying...” you get the idea.
So, in the end, I cancelled two weeks of reservations (which would have been expanded to 6+) and protested with my feet. I left.
A day out and I STILL feel emotionally winded, unsure of what I just witnessed.
All I know is that if my behavior to a client or guest even approached this, I’d be – and should be – terminated on the spot. This was not the decision of management.
But maybe it’s me. Maybe this is Croatia’s version of adventure travel. Not enough to make me fall out of love with Zagreb...but close.

Surrounded by a pizza takeaway, coffee shop, bakery and mini mart.
About 20 minutes walk to the main town centre or take the tram just outside the hotel. You can take a taxi which is generally outside.
The surrounding area is safe but looks a bit run down because of graffiti.
The hotel reception is immaculate. Customer service is really good and you can leave your bag if you check in early (3pm check in). The first floor has a pool (free), limited gym (free) and spa (paid). Restaurant and bar at the ground floor.
The room is immaculate but looks a bit dated. King size bed is very comfortable and a bonus. Blankets are comfortable and weighted. Air conditioning is strong but a bit loud.
Kettle, free coffee/tea, complimentary waters, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, robes/slippers, and towels available.
Shower is strong with two different heads. The shower sprays everywhere on the outside floor due to a poor glass shower curtain.
Noise? Rather quiet but can hear noisy people shouting in the corridor.
TV is old and dated.
Plugs on both sides of the bed (European style).
Overall, a decent hotel for the price.

Все было отлично.
Квартира рядом с трамвайной остановкой, до центра ехать 10 минут на трамвае, пешком медленным шагом около 25 минут.
Расположение отличное.
Хозяин квартиры встретил меня у подъезда, проводил в квартиру, все показал и рассказал. Был всегда на связи.
Однозначно рекомендую этот вариант для остановки в Загребе.
