Quiet part of Melaka but still easily accessible to variety of eateries. Short walk to malls but if bring infant toddler, just take grab ride which is super cheap. Service is ok as room is cleaned promptly, water bottles, toothbrush replaced daily. Dispenser soap provided for shower, I brought own facial cleanser. No slippers. Tv only 4 Malaysia channel, no cable and YouTube. Wifi is ok for me, maybe morning when all guests using at same time is abit slow. Bedsheets are clean but carpet abit dusty. I have sensitive nose so kept sneezing when I first entered room. Swimming pool not large but at rooftop have nice view. Bar is nice to have just that music abit loud. I stay 5th floor can’t hear anything in room but you hear loud music when taking lift. Gym is small but have treadmill and couple of machines but both treadmill are spoilt. Overall still a good stay as price is affordable for family.From$20

Location: It's about 15mins walk from Jonker Street. Take Grab for about RM 5 to 7, depends on the timing. Located next to Mahkota Parade, where you can find quite a lot of shops and fast food available there too. If you're taking bus from Singapore, you can alight at this hotel.
Service: The staff is friendly and helpful.
Cleanliness: it's consider OK to be honest, just a little stain on the table. The lobby looks grand!
Others: The TV programme has to be improved. Some of the channels are dark / mute. Room is spacious, and even have a small living room at the entrance.From$47

Once you arrive, park at 7th or 8th floor and inform the receptionist your car plate later. At the reception, Alif assisted me with the check in like a close friend. He even informed me how to navigate around Jonker Street.
As for the room, it is clean and the shower water pressure is strong and hot. No insects found or seen around the room.
The lift may take a while though during peak hour. The location is okay, about 15 minutes walk to Jonker Street. But what I like is that it is next to the jogging path by the river and accessible to speedmart/7 11.From$27

The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming when we were check in with a complimentary cookies, when we got into the room we realised that the fridge wasn't working, we let housekeeping and they immediately changed a new fridge for us. the room was nice and spacious the lights are working fine however the sofa a a little old ed stained.the body foam that they provide probably only can last a day and you are need to ask the housekeeping refill it if staying more then a day . the breakfast is great although we could get a clean table and had to ask the waiter to clean the table for us before we could go and get the food. overall we love the bed the soft pillow and it was a good stay .From$68

They are not lying when they said unlimited breakfast buffet from 7am till 12pm. This is the most great thing about this hotel. Their view is beautiful. Like others mentioned, we can see melaka river cruise at night from the balcony. Other than that, facilities in children a bit wear out already. However we did enjoy the pool because it’s quite big. The adult pool have infinity view but slightly poor in cleanliness.From$42

The hotel stay overall was a pretty experience. Located in the heart of little India, a block away from Chinatown, and a couple blocks away from the main Pier area. It’s pretty easy to get around from this hotel has everything is quite walkable.
The hotel had staff that were pretty helpful overall. I stayed two nights during Christmas when the hotel was full of patrons, and not a single room was available. The rooms are the typical Ibis kind of rooms but one thing that is good about the Malacca in ibis is that is kept up pretty well. There wasn’t anything that was worn down in the room other than my nonworking TV, which didn’t bother me.
Oh, another somewhat of a hiccup that I ran into was the restaurant. According to the menu, the restaurant closes at 10 PM and the sign downstairs indicate 10:30 PM. My wife and I would really hungry and at 9:36 PM, I went downstairs to order an Ibis burger and an apple juice. The waiters at the front desk initially rejected my order, indicating that they’ve already closed the kitchen, but there was no indication of any “last order” time anywhere on their menu, or at their restaurant. Of course, since I was as a bear, I was not up for a kitchen closing early for whatever reason. So, I threaten to contact management indicating that the restaurant doesn’t have a last order time. In response, the waiters contacted the kitchen asking if they are willing to take my order and lo and behold, their chef was going to make the burger and drink. Not sure if this is a Malaysian thing or not, but I thought that was kind of scummy. I didn’t end up contacting management with what happened, but perhaps anybody who is going to order room service at around 930pm might want to use the same tactic as I did. From$43

The hotel from the exterior looked really grand. The room was quite big in size and the hotel reception staff were nice enough. We (husband, two teenage children and I) arrived an hour early and were directed to the note that they didn’t have early check-ins. The doorman was nice and gave us an umbrella as it was raining when we were going out. However, the bathroom was not very clean with rotting shower screen because of most likely poor cleaning. The towels in the bathroom were supposed to be white but were brown in colour and stained. Unfortunately, we had to use these as there was no other option, felt unclean after shower. The corridor had a musty odour which was overpowering. Stayed two nights and had put up a door sign to have the room cleaned but no one came around and we were out all day. Bottled water was given on the first day but not on the subsequent day. I’m glad we only stayed two nights as couldn’t have tolerated the place for any longer.From$34

We booked this hotel as per recommended by other guests reviews. However, the first thing we feel upon arriving at 3pm is that the lobby is very warm, there is not even a think cold air blowing from the ceiling air-con. Anyway, we booked 2 rooms a week ago and we were told that the rooms are not ready, yet. The check-in time for this hotel is 3pm, but we have waited 30 minutes only to get our first room and another 30 minutes to get second room. The first room was super dark as there were only 1 light working, so we ended up calling the maintenance to fix all other lights in the room. The second room was not clean, hair were everywhere and there's even a pair of leggings hanging in the wardrobe. Both rooms showers were not properly clean, hence the water is not able to run, as it's clogged due to massive hair balls stucked in the hole. That's not all. As our rooms doesn't comes with breakfast, we bought 2 breakfast for the first room for next day. There was no meal vouchers given to us except the receipt as the receptionist told us to show just the room key to the cafe staff. But, the cafe staff refused to let us in even after we showed the room key to him. He told us that we need to present meal voucher to him, which was not told to us by the receptionist. We told him to checked in the system as we have paid for it and he refused to do so. He shoved us away immediately without checking further. After all the hassle, we went to the receptionist at lobby and seek for refund. And we were told that it takes 15 working days for the refund (which is MYR30 only). We paid by cash for the breakfast when we check in, but we cannot get our cash back instantly for refusing us go enter the cafe. We don't think that we deserved such treatment by the hotel staff, just because the room rate are affordable, doesn't means the hospitality standards can be regards as third world class. What else can we ask for? If it's not due to TripAdvisor system, I don't even want to give even 1 rating. From$17

We stayed at the TF Riverside for a night in May. This happened to be during Ramadan. The entrance from the street has steps up to reception (there is a steepish ramp, too steep for a wheelchair unless assisted by a strong person). We were able to check in without any issues. There's a car park under the hotel but there is no direct access from the car park into the hotel. We were allocated rooms on the 3rd floor overlooking the main road rather than the riverside. The lifts were functional but a little bumpy. The hotel was refurbished about a year ago, and whilst what is there is clean and OK, it's more towards a budget set up, and the furniture looked fairly tired. However a really basic annoyance in the room was the lack of and location of power outlets. There was a power outlet just above the floor level behind the fridge, and another about 1m above the floor halfway between the bed and the window in the middle of nowhere. The kettle (provided in the room) couldn't be plugged in unless you held it in mid-air whilst boiling or moved furniture to the outlet between the bed and window, or you moved the fridge. Whilst I can understand that the cost of moving power outlets isn't a minor thing, surely this should have been sorted out when the hotel was refurbed about a year ago? And could easily be mitigated for limited expense by providing a couple of multi-outlet power bars to provide desktop power by the fridge and bedside. The bathroom was again clean but fairly basic. Oh, and the hot water was barely warmer than ambient temperature both evening - which we reported the receptionist - but the issue still persisted the next morning. We had booked two rooms, and the power and hot water issues were the same in both rooms. After checking in we left the hotel for a wander aroound the city - which is gorgeous, and easily walkable from the hotel. As we left the hotel and walked initally along the riverside we could see an Iftar buffet being set up by the hotel on their riverside dining area, and the selection of food looked to be impressive and comprehensive. We got back to the hotel having had dinner elsewhere with friends and saw the tail end of the Iftar buffet, and looked forward to our breakfast the next morning. However, we were to be disappointed. When we got down for breakfast the next monring, we were presented a menu card of five items, of which two - the nasi lemak and rice porridge congee were unavailable. We've been at hotels when low occupancy means it's uneconomic to run a full buffet, and I completely understand this - but usually in these situations you get presented a decent list of whats available and a commitment provided they have the ingredients within reason they will try their best to make something for you. Considering what we had seen the previous evening we knew the hotel could do seriously good food, and the previous reviews of the good food back this up. Masa first check in overall was okay except aircond tu kipas dia dah tak boleh nak bergerak so nasib masa tu my sibling naik kerusi adjust sikit dia punya sisik aircond tu.. aircond pon dah mcm nak uzur and second masa adik lelaki buka water heater then ttibe air memancut keluar dari tempat buka tu.. its was like mcm benda tu tak rapat and agak bahaya.. please take a note and make some improvement . Hotel chiller went down on 1st night and they changed us to smaller delux room. We feedback the aircon is not working as well. They told us the chiller was down for the whole hotel. Don't understand why they chnage our room deapite knowing the chiller was down for the whole hotel? Only recovered after 4 hours.
Water cistern tank ran out of water and was told the main tank was empty and need to be filled up. Have to use the lobby toilet.
TV reception was bad.
Generally, was pleasant stay with good spread of breakfaat beside the incidents mentiomed above.From$30

The hotel was much bigger than we had anticipated. It is a really beautiful place, hidden away in the nice city of Melaka. The lobby is beautifully designed, but freezing and the whole hotel seemed drenched in some kind of perfume, which made me a bit dizzy. Our room had the weirdest smell- but I think it was intentional...as though they had made it smell like that on purpose...like mouldy hay. The room was really pretty and the little patio is a nice touch. We informed the desk that we's be checking out at 12:50. but still, the same concierge called us at 12:00, waiting impatiently for us to check out. We were also hardly ever greeted upon entering the hotel. Weird. Once everything is done, I'm sure it will be a nice place. I wish the plants were real. They are all plastic and it shows, unfortunately. The location is perfect, just around the corner from China Town and Junkers Walk. I think it's a decent place to stay for a night or two.From$48

Location is proximity to the two major malls (Dataran Palawan and Makota Parade). There’s also convenience store (7-11 and Family Mart l) beside the hotel. Many eateries and it’s also 3 mins walk to the famous Tong Sheng Chinese restaurant. Check-in was fast and staff were friendly. Complimentary wifi located on the sleeve of the keycard. Good security with guard on duty to lift lobby and key card to activate the desired floor in the lift. Corridor looks little dated and the wooden side skirting fell off at one section while I was walking to my room. Room is clean with lots of toiletries available (4 bottled water, 2 bedroom slippers, 2 toothbrush, vanity kit, shampoo & shower gel, conditioner, lotion, etc). There’s also a kitchenette but no utensils provided. Hotel is actually connected (walkway beside lift lobby) to Noble hotel (formally Novotel?) next door. TV is my room was not at its best condition (flickering) and limited channels (common Malaysian channels, S’pore channel 8, etc). The balcony door is locked for safety and security reason. Air-condition is split unit (non-central a/c) and temperature can be controlled. By the way, paid SGD36.62 excluding breakfast for a last minute deal, booked after 3pm on the check-in day. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay given the price paid.From$41

Great experience with Rosa Malacca. From the entrance to the room until checkout. Mr Steve, the sarawak reception guy (i sempat tanya dia asal mana hehe) is damn friendly & soft spoken. Siap bagi choice i nak bilik view mana sama ada city atau courtyard view. Siap tanya baby i perlukan baby cot tak. I don’t request anything but he is really accommodating and good heart. We love his hospitality so much The 1st Hotel I checked in without Deposit! But they remind you not to cause damage in the room and no smoking gais. Clean room everything complete. The coffee house vibe is really beautiful with good music. The coffee house staff also friendly echah and aishah. Great hospitality and culture in here keep it up gais. A true luxury small hotel. Very cozy. Room is clean. Love the tub. The welcome tea & sugee cake served in the room were nice. As for amenities, its average, could use a better quality of disposable toothbrush & provide slippers for going to the pool. Dining hall has good ambience, breakfast was good & service was personal. Dinner was above average. The pool was clean and dont feel too much clorine. The gym was a bit packed but ok to use when not many guests. There was an unpleasant smell at the dumb bells section, think its from the floor mat at that section. This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.From$77

This was our second stay at Treasures and it did not disappoint! The hotel is gorgeous with Balinese style fittings and decor. The infinity style pool on the roof top is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Rooms are clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Beds, pillows and sheets are so soft and comfortable and feels like it is high-end. Breakfast is fantastic, we experienced both buffet and al a carte and both had a great variety of tasty, fresh foods. The service is what makes this hotel stand out from the rest. Every single staff member was lovely and approachable, nothing was ever too much trouble. We could not find any faults in our stay at Treasures and will definitely return when in Melaka. From$62

It is 10-storeys high. The room is 21m2 so its not that big. Floor is “wood look” laminate, bathroom a tad small. It has no restaurant so no room dining and no breakfast. But there are a few eating spots within walking distance. Room is clean, with partial view of the ships and tankers plying the Malacca Straits. And you have the city street view but not those touristy ones. Double glazing is rarely heard of in Malaysian hotels (even the close to the streets as this one) so expect the occasional formula one wannabes to disturb your peace. In all it passes all the requirements of a 3* (i would rate it 3.5*). “Stayable” though there is nothing worthy of mention. From$25

This hotel was in a fantastic location in the heart of Melaka - so it was very convenient to come in and out of the hotel constantly in between shops and restaurants. The decor in the hotel is very nice and has lots of character with nice paintings etc. We stayed in the Kapital room on ground floor which was very large and bathroom was also large and bed was very comfortable. The free snacks and drinks was also a nice touch. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was OK, just need to get there earlier so that when they make the food it is warm. The staff were super friendly and helpful - and also organised transport to next destination at a very reasonable price - the staff were perfect. The cleanliness was excellent. The hotel rooms itself were very quiet - the only annoyance was people in the carpark at the back which was just outside our room late at night constantly letting off fireworks - ideally security should be able to get them to go away considering it is illegal to let off fireworks. The other issue in the room was the power kept disconnecting and connecting making a loud noise each time and meaning one needed to manually put the air conditioning back on each time which is OK during the day but not at night - this may have been a one off issue. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when in Melaka - we would probably stay in a different room though as there are many other options available. It is good value for money, fantastic location, fantastic staff, very comfortable and convenient.From$83

Room was okay for the price you pay. Don’t expect what you see in the pictures as the room is a bit more run down which is fine but could definitely be cleaner. Floors and certain surfaces were oily and bathtub faucet was not functioning properly. Other than that was okay especially for the price.
But make sure you whatsapp the hotel number to let them know you are checking in that day and to find out where/how to check in at the building. Also, to avoid any check-in delays.From$14

Immediately when I checked in, what stood out to me was how friendly the staff is. They got us sorted out into our rooms and were very enthusiastic when we asked about landmarks around the city. Location wise, it was great as well. Very near to Jonker Street and the Melaka museums. Lots of authentic and older shops within walking distance as well. It's a great introduction to the city. As for the rooms, it's not super fancy but still very comfortable. No complains here. It was a good choice.From$45

The hotel has very traditional decor and the rooms are large. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fixed menu, rather than Buffet, because of the coronavirus restrictions, and not good. At least not as described on the menu and service quite slow, despite only one other group staying. On the 2nd day we didn't bother with breakfast and went out to eat. Probably when things are back to normal the breakfast service may be better since everything else was very good. In the meentime I would suggest taking room without breakfast. From$56
