Hotel Budva is a lovely hotel and makes a brilliant first impression. The slight chaos of Budva town in the approach to the hotel, in part caused by the development of more hotels, gives way to a tranquil and premium feeling hotel. Throughout our stay the understated effort from the team in their commitment to ensuring we had a great holiday was obvious. The standard rooms, while not enormous, are spacious and well appointed, clean and modern. We had a sea facing balcony which was lovely for the view and to watch the daily rhythm of people enjoying the town. The hotel location is ideal, near the beach and the pier from where you can catch a boat to many other beaches or tours, and just 10 minutes walk to old town, which is the highlight of the area and where we spent every evening soaking up the sights, foods and drink. Particular highlights of the hotel are the location and service, the pool is lovely if not amazingly child-friendly (though our 4 year old was fine). Sauna is good and gym good enough to keep you going while on holiday. The ice cream place attached to the hotel is phenomenal. Breakfast is decent though could be improved-the buffet area is cramped making it difficult to circulate if even a little busy, and while lots of the food is good we’d have loved to see more fruit choice/better quality fruit, and decent coffee - the machine coffee available is really poor. The other thing we would recommend to the hotel is to make irons and ironing boards available. It’s really unusual not to have this service and an alternative of €5 per item to iron for you is too high Overall we would absolutely recommend the hotel, and if you want somewhere that feels like it “fits” locally when so many super modern giant hotels are popping up, then this is a great choice. The team, all the way through to the management, responded quickly and effectively to any issue, and they set a really high standard.

This is my fourth business trip to Budva but my first to this restaurant….. I have been missing out!!! The staff were friendly and welcoming on a cold Montenegrin evening and the heaters were a godsend. The menu is extensive but we finally decided on a fish plate for 2 and seafood penne pasta. I thought the fish plate was superb, as did my work colleague. The pasta dish also got top comments from another colleague. Looking forward to my next trip to Budva and Fontana already!!!

On our 29-tday Balkan tour one of the ”weakest” hotels. Positive: - short distance to the old town - free parking for the car form hotel - rooms were clean Negative: - Hotel has not received our booking reservation neutral: - Receptionist did not speak any of our languages (German, English, Hungarian) - after talking to colleague on the phone it went then - next day the English-speaking colleague was there and explained everything and checked out with payment -> top! - the noise level - is on the main road. You have to live with the booking or know what to get in. A few trampers in front of the door that want to be taken with. Negative: - Because we every day in the evening our further route and stay The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. I was then nervous at the reception where many other people had gathered, who probably wanted all of them to have Wi-Fi - A motorcycle group arrived in the evening and parked right next to our room. Also our balcony was used for joyful conversations. Since the entrance to our room did not look like the terrace belonged to the room, but in general to the hotel, people were quite often right in front of our door. The group's exit was also nervous. I think in a room in the main house, taking into account the main street noise level and Wi-Fi only in public areas, would be 4 or 5 points possible. On the basis of our experience, I can unfortunately only give a ”satisfactory”.

I was really looking forward to staying here after reading the reviews. But OMG. The room does not have tea and coffee making facilities. If you want them you have to ask as there is not enough kettles to put in all rooms. A nice lady delivered the kettle and cups but no tea and coffee. I asked if it would be possible to get a couple of tea bags as the shops were shut, and I was told no. What a Joke. Also the safe in the room did not work they came up looked at it and said it needed an engineer. Never said when the engineer would be around to fix it. Went down to dinner, and the buffet presented to us was for hot and cold food, yet the hot food was as cold as the salad. The walls are marked the only place to put your case is on the floor, no good if you've got a bad back, sockets are made of cheap plastic, and the lamp shade is dirty. Maybe it's under new management!

We arrived having booked an apartment with a terrace to be told we’d have to go into a room for a couple of days as a window had been broken in our apartment. We were promised a discount/refund. The room was on the first floor and ok, fairly spacious with a balcony over looking the street. There was a fridge and a kettle in the wardrobe but had to plug the kettle in on the floor by the plug socket. We pushed to be moved into the apartment which is what we prefer. It was after 3 nights when we moved and we wished we hadn’t. Although fairly spacious, there was one window which faced a wall so was very dark and depressing. The terrace…was about 3 feet wide just outside the apartment and faced a wall with a tall building. It was so depressing we actually went to Dubrovnik for 2 nights so we didn’t have to stay in it. We got 30 euros for our refund. Lady running it was helpful and apologetic but it didn’t really help.

We recently had a suite at hotel Astoria in the walls of Budva old town. It had all the features we needed such as air conditioning, large bed, good shower and fridge/ minibar. A cooked breakfast could be eaten inside or outside on the terrace. The beach bar had great views, food and drink. One evening we had a meal on the rooftop restaurant which was a lovely setting. Reception and cleaning staff all very polite and helpful. The hotels best plus point is it’s position at the main gate to the old town. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Me and hubby stayed beginning of September for 11 nites. Staff very lovely and attentive, room spotless and roomy, bathroom fine. We only had breakfast which was fine for us, the usual hams, cereals, cheese and lots of fruit. Pastries and cakes and the hot food mainly eggs and different sausages. I was happy there was a toaster. A few comments from other people saying the breakfast was bland but while we were having breakfast most people’s plates were piled high so it can’t have been that bland ! The hotel just a 10 min walk to the beach and centre and further 10 mins walk to the old town which was lovely. There were only 5 sun beds by the small pool but we mainly went to the beach, only once after a cloudy morning and after a walk around Budva we came back to the hotel just as the sun came out so went by the pool and we were the only ones there. We went to Kotor and sveti Stefan by local bus and had a great time, so easy to use bus and bus station only 10 mins from hotel. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would definitely stay here again.

Firstly, upon arrival, it wasn’t made clear that the apartment was in a residential building and not a serviced apartment block as expected. There is no reception and we had to wait for the owner to let us in. The building and surrounds are not as advertised as there is now a large construction site metres from our apartment. As the pictures show, this is a large complex that has clearly been in construction for a while and has now totally blocked the sea view that is advertised. The same goes for the apartment itself, it has been redecorated and isn’t as shown. The photos online should have been updated. We were then informed that payment was needed in cash. We expected to pay on a card and this option not been available was never communicated beforehand. The total charged was €199 inc the tourist tax. However, the Booking.com app (see attached) said it would be €186. Why were we charged more and given no proof of payment? This was an inconvenience as, luckily we had cash, but then needed to transfer more and find a bank to replace this. The apartment stank of cigarettes and the bathroom smelt of stale water. Only one towel each was provided with one small towel that we had to use as bath mat, as there wasn’t one. Toilet rolls, dish cloths, washing up liquid, toiletries and tea towels were also not provided. Stable and basic things needed for a self-catering apartment. The tv in the lounge didn’t work, after an hour we managed to fix it, but the tv in the bedroom isn’t even connected to the electricity- again not as advertised. We had to ask for extra bedding, a sheet and thin blanket were brought to us, but no pillowcases. The balcony was dirty and had large pieces of wood board on it, presumably from construction. I have used Booking.com for many years and have genius-level 3 rating. Their customer service has been absolutely dreadful. Was told we would get a refund, then a month later told that we couldn't and photos we took of our stay are not proof as we could have obtained these online. Utterly shocking service, no callbacks and you never get to speak to the same person twice!

One of the best things is garage which is quite cheap ( 17eur ) looking from perspective that Budva is traffic nightmare. Staff is very polite and professional, somewhere acting as your own concierge since you can bother them with numerous questions/issues and they will solve. And we have even met owner Drasko who is guru when it comes to advices related to whole Montenegro coast, and he knows people and knows places. We have even talked a bit about real estate and if you plan to invest he is the guy to ask, and for sure he will help you! One more time huge thanks and this 5* condo really deserves 5*.

Upon arrival we were treated like royalty. The concierge and the butler service is next level like nothing I have ever experienced before. Your room is always kept made up and upon your return there is always a surprise being an exotic fruit plate, local sweets or snacks is waiting for you on your table in your suite. Breakfast in room is amazing. As for activities they will arrange everything for you, including every single detail. My special thanks to Mario the front desk who was especially amazing and of course also JJ the concierge and Dennis the butler service. These 3 made our stay so memorable. Definitely recommend staying at this boutique hotel.

I had quite a mixed experience at this hotel so am going to do pros and cons. PROS: Great location, the rooms have powerful aircon, the hotel itself is very clean and feels new, great wifi and the staff working at breakfast were lovely. CONS: Our check in experience was a weird one, the receptionist did not make us feel welcome and wasn't very friendly, which was a bit jarring after travelling for so long. Our check out experience was even worse, we were charged for staining the towels (i have hair dye in my hair and when i wash it, the water comes out pink and it drips pink) the hair dye got on the towels which i was aware of but assumed it would come out as it does on all of my towels at home, I don't know why it didn't when the staff washed them. The staff knew about this problem days before we checked out yet didn't tell us the stains didn't come out in their wash so it ended up being quite a few towels we had to pay for. If they had told us about this the first time it had happened, I would have just used my beach towel to dry my hair and we could have avoided being charged so much. It was also interesting as one of the towels they give out to guests for the pool, did have stains on them. Our bedsheets also were not changed the first 5 days we stayed. It is such a shame we had such a negative experience with the reception staff as this hotel has so much going for it.
