Frequent weekend awayer's we loved everything at this boutique style hotel. The staff and front desk were aware of our needs before we were. The vehicle valet parking truly convenient as parking in Trieste can be daunting if you don't know your way around. We loved breakfast and it was beautifully presented and cooked to order. We could have sat eating all day! The room was fitted with an amazingly comfy bed and pillows and the decor delights the senses. We will certainly return to this gem.FromTHB 4,481

The main thing is the location. Right next to the bus and train stations. And it was a 20-minute walk from the port. I imagine this used to be a fashionable mansion. High ceilings, a pompous staircase. But the room converted into a private residence is a bit odd. The central room with a double bed is flawless. But the second single bed is right in the hallway by the door. The hallway is about 8 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. You open the door, and there it is, the bed. And instead of slats, there's thick, creaky plywood. Not very presentable. And the bathroom is funny, like a tall, narrow cabinet, with a 30-centimeter gap past the toilet and bidet. Overall, not bad. But nothing special.FromTHB 1,790

The hotel’s location is excellent, very close to the city center and the grand canal. The rooms are very clean and the hotel staff is quite welcoming and helpful. Breakfast variety was not the best, and it would have been nice to have an indoor pool in the hotel, given that we visited in December, so it would have been hard to visit the beach (there are no public beaches in the main Trieste city anyway, we’d have to go to Barcola for that).FromTHB 6,002

A very friendly reception with personal note. The hotel is centrally located and has beautiful rooms. When staying with bicycles, the hotel is able to stay in the area. The parking lot is only 5 minutes walk from the train station when you arrive by car.FromTHB 3,850

The location of the hotel is wikrily very central. The dining room is simply breathtaking, breakfast is very good ( typically Italian with Cornetto and Capuccino). I loved our overnight stay at The Modernist! It’s a chic, smart, arty hotel in the centre of the city, easy walking distance to all the shopping, bars and restaurants. The room was spotless with tea, coffee, minibar and toiletries all provided. The restaurant and cocktail bar serves creative cocktails, a great buffet breakfast and a fabulous dinner - we enjoyed them all!!FromTHB 5,141

Great location (though I regretted not booking the Hilton doubletree around the corner). Feels more like an Airbnb serviced by a hotel. Checkin process was confusing (had to go to a different hotel - hotel said we got instructions but we checked and had nothing from them). We got great restaurant recommendations from the front desk attendant. The coffee in the room is not free - they charge a euro for each capsule. Who does that these days? We paid for breakfast as part of our stay. Breakfast was ok but very weak compared to most places at this price we have stayed at. The coffee (as per of breakfast) was wonderful. Parking was cumbersome - we had to park in a nearby garage which was a good 10 minute walk away. Overall a solid experience but we expected more given price and alternatives in Trieste. Facilities: Facilities are okay, Italian hotels are not very new
Hygiene: The hygiene is quite clean, but there are ants in the bathroom🐜. Friends who mind
Environment: The environment is okay. You can park on the roadside. The lady at the front desk said that this town is quite safe.
Service: The service is very good, mainly the breakfast!

Nice light airy apartment in great location. Close to the Flix bus stop, train station, cruise terminal and bars/restaurants/shops. Apartment is fairly basic but comfortable enough. Bed was a little firm, bathroom and kitchen basic. Would consider staying again at the right price.
