So, I decided to search for a homestay right in the heart of Kunming, and this one had pretty promising ratings. The host was exceptionally warm and hospitable, which prompted me to write this review.
Overall, the room was excellent and felt quite new. It even came with an automatic massage chair, which was an absolute blessing after a long day of work, especially since I didn't have any evening plans. The mattress was soft and clean, and I really appreciated that it didn't have that generic, standardized hotel feel. It felt much more personal, perhaps because the owner personally handles the cleaning and upkeep. The host was also very thoughtful, even gifting me some flowers, though as I was traveling alone, I couldn't take them with me.
The location is also incredibly convenient. Just twenty meters downstairs is a well-known Kunming plaza, offering plenty of dining and entertainment options. Coupled with Kunming's fantastic climate, it was surprisingly cool and pleasant even while strolling around the plaza! You can also admire many beautiful flowers there. A mere three-minute walk north leads to an old Kunming street, which has everything you need for food, drink, and fun. I observed many locals there and didn't encounter any tourist traps or overcharging, which was a big plus!
All in all, I'd definitely give it a 5-star rating!
