Along with Parnell, Ponsonby is our favourite place to stay in Auckland. We stayed at the Great Ponsonby Art Hotel again this year and have no regrets. We always enjoy returning here. Parking is no problem in the hotel grounds or on the street. The small, beautifully furnished hotel offers the kind of hospitality we like most: the staff are attentive and very friendly. The service has been just perfect. This time there were three of us travelling together and we booked the penthouse room and one of the three pavilions behind the house. The balcony and garden are perfect for enjoying an aperitif or a take-away menu. If you're lucky, the odd bird will pay you a visit - this time a kingfisher was a special guest. The rooms are clean and pleasantly large. The pavilions are outfitted with new bath rooms. The cooked breakfast is a dream, just like in the good old days when there were many more B&Bs in New Zealand than there are today. Ponsonby Street has a great selection of restaurants and there is something to suit almost every palate. We were never disappointed. And last but not least Ponsonby is perfectly located for a stroll to the CBD and many sights as the Auckland Museum or the Auckland Art Gallery. We shall return.

Brilliantly located with just a 15min wander down Valley Rd & Walters Rd to Eden Park it takes all the hassle out of going to the game. There’s also plenty of eateries on Boundary Rd there was no need for us to get in our car. Free parking is a real bonus. Robert the host & his lovely wife Bess are the best hosts you could wish for. The decor and actual building are both quite tired but they do their absolute best to present these in the best manner possible. Clean, tidy, organised, and nothing is too much trouble. I think it’s all you need and we’ll definitely be back.

Awesome stay, We stayed there 2 nights 2 adults and 2 children stayed there, The place was clean smelled nice. Awesome furnishings. There were other quest in the place but you would not know. The stay is a different set up where the place was like homestay in bulit up area other homes around. The streets and homes are clean tidy and quiet. We shared lovely kitchen and if you are upstairs we had out own little area to make coffee and tea and a lounge to relax. We planned activities in Auckland for our time there, and it was nice get back to a comfortable room and home. I would recommend the stay to others and would stay again Thankyou. Our children loved the place. I gave 3 for location it is in built up area and 3 for service, we saw no one during out time there had to ring for help. but the line was busy. Still ok place to stay.

The outlook is beautiful, the room was lovely and clean. However, unfortunately we got the room next to the kitchen and it was very noisy, not well insulated at all. The kitchen is fantastic and very well equipped. The guy who booked us in was lovely. The only issue we had was that the owner charges 4% surcharge for using a card to pay which is a total rip off, especially when the payment is processed on line by them. The banks do not charge 4%.

This house seems to have been a B&B for a long time. Everything is arranged very well. Everyday guests are in a constant stream. Breakfast is also good. The only problem is that I have two children with me to collect the cost of a child. My heart is a bit uncomfortable. Others are OK.

The cup is dirty, the dirtiest in the New Zealand hotel I have ever stayed in, the facilities are very good, one room and an outdoor hot spring, this facility is 3 people 175 NZD, which is very cost-effective in New Zealand. Because Parakai belongs to the hot spring area, the natural hot spring is really very comfortable. Self check-in and check-out are common in New Zealand, but very unfortunate, the wifi is broken, Ctrip is very responsible, constantly contacting the hotel (because there is no one in the office), and finally refunded me 100 yuan, like one. My husband and I stayed at Dovecote House 2 days. What a lucky find for us! The owners made us feel at home and welcome to share. Nathan is a fabulous chef. Extra meals are available upon request for a very reasonable amount. He makes all the jams and preserves to share and also to take home. The 100 year old house and beautiful gardens must be explored! They provide pick up and drop off to the airport for a very small fee. If we lived closer we would stay every month just to enjoy the company and food!
