The hotel is located on the third floor of a small shopping mall to the east of the ancient city wall. It is easy to find and the location is very convenient. It is a 2-minute walk to the ancient city. Although it is a small hotel similar to a bed and breakfast, the room layout facilities are basically complete, clean, and the size is reasonable. There is only one person in charge at the front desk, who is very serious and responsible, and answers all questions. However, we still had to climb up the staircase after taking the lift which was a bit inconvenient. Location-wise, it is near to the tourist spot with everything in walking distance. The location of the hotel is very convenient to enter the ancient city. The suite design is stylish and the small terrace can see the clock tower and the sunrise. The bathroom is so big that there is a jacuzzi, but the automatic cleaning function is so loud to scare the parents. It will be better to remind you to be mentally prepared. The breakfast is very rich and the restaurant is comfortable. The dinner has a soup main dish and dessert. The taste is not wrong and the portion is large. The Hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I enjoyed the homey atmosphere.
However, there are a few things one should be aware of before booking: The hotel is in the historic district just about 5 min walk west from the Prominade area. Taxis cannot drive in, so it is necessary to walk in with one's baggage. Also, any excursions will start with a walk out of the area to the main taxi stand. Navigating the area can be a challenge the first couple of times; one MUST have the ability to use their maps app. T-mobile - America has an international plan that give you up to 2G speed unlimited data and texting, but I highly recommend getting a local sim card. Look at the map of the city before choosing this hotel. There are a lot of nice restaurants within 2-5 minutes walking. Furthermore, the office closes from 11pm till 7am. Most importantly, they DO NOT take credit cards. IF you did not pay for the room online, you will need local cash, and you will need it to pay the taxes on the room, and for a taxi if you booked it through the hotel. Cash only. (They do have a zelle option, but I could not get it to work. I recommend cash. Speaking of cash, one should get it from an actual bank ATM as the rates 11% vs the 22-25% some private ATMs charge.)
I give the hotel 4 of 5 for comfort, 5/5 for cleanliness, 3 or 5 for location.

It is not far from the game of the old town rights to get the attractions, and it is convenient to walk. The room was clean and the water was delivered. The only thing to note is that remember to listen to the room number clearly, otherwise it is easy to admit mistakes. It may be unfamiliar with the way Europeans write numbers. However, the room was small, which was a bit disappointing. The room and building were very clean with great facilities, though some of the room furniture, like the desk chair, could use a bit of a refurbishment. This however for most travelers will be no issue as you will want to be out and about exploring the city and using the room as just a home base. I will absolutely come and stay again, and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Split and my stay at Slavija. Good location in the palace area, but it could be very confused because the hotel has different annex which is couple minutes walk apart. And it could be difficult to find the location of the annex, for the one I stay in named Villa Donbric couldn’t be find in Google map. Besides, since we have couple of large luggages, we look for hotel with elevator but the annex I stayed didn’t facilitated one. (I am not sure the other annex has one or not) The room is smaller than I expected, it’s a bit messy when we open up two luggage together. Other than that, it’s a cozy place to stay with helpful staff. The breakfast is served and good, with different options of eggs. The hotel is the kind of residential building renovation. The front desk has always been very convenient and can store luggage. The front desk lady will give a map, play and eat will recommend it. The room is not very big, but one person lives in a wooden problem, the bed is narrow, but sleeps quite comfortable. Very close to the ancient city, just a few tens of meters into the ancient city, so there are not many tourists here, but it is convenient. It takes about ten minutes to walk from the bus station. Room was clean, and full of amneties for a studio room. AC worked well but there was a fly as the window was open before we came in. Receptionist showed us around the room and explained the check out process and breakfast (coffee and tasty croissants). Entrance to room can only be accessed from outside of the street.
