Next time, if I need to, I'll ask them to help me get a lower bunk.

We particularly appreciated the hotel’s location, very convenient and easily accessible from the train station, which makes getting around the city easy. The breakfast is of good quality and meets the group’s standards, offering a decent variety to start the day. The bedding also meets usual IHG expectations: very comfortable and restful, although the room is a bit noisy. However, there were some disappointing aspects. We had booked a room with an atrium view, but it turned out to be a shopping area open late and brightly lit 24/7. Information on this was insufficient, and we had to keep the curtains closed at all times to maintain some privacy. In addition, the room furniture is clearly outdated and does not match the quality level expected from an IHG property, which was quite disappointing. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel remains attractive thanks to its location, comfortable bedding, and quality breakfast, offering good value for money for a stay in Taichung.

I had a wonderful stay at Millennium Hotel Taichung! This is truly a 5-star experience from the moment I arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. As soon as my taxi pulled up, the bellboy came over right away and helped with my luggage—even sending it directly to my room without me needing to handle anything. Such thoughtful service! The room was very spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day out. I especially loved the little touches, like the Nespresso coffee machine for a nice cup of coffee anytime. The biggest surprise was the complimentary mini bar—there were four bottles of soft drinks provided for free, which was such a nice bonus! The bathroom was also impressively large, clean, and well-designed, adding to the overall luxurious feel of the stay. Overall, I highly recommend Millennium Hotel Taichung if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I would definitely stay here again! 😊

The location is excellent, right opposite Taichung Station. There's a supermarket, convenience store, and restaurants next door. The price is also reasonable. What I didn't like was their very strict check-in and check-out times – check-out at 11 AM and check-in at 3 PM. They charge you for exceeding these times. However, one morning, they started cleaning the hallway at 9 AM, and the noise of the machines woke me up, even though it wasn't even housekeeping time yet. Also, on my first day, my room was already clean, but they wouldn't let me check in early. This feels like a double standard.

Room is quite big, i can fully open both of my standard size luggage, still have space for walking. The room I stay is quiet, just only can hear when other guest close their door. Very near to the Taichung train station, easy for me cause i can just walk to Taichung train station. Just beside the hotel have one 24hours family mart , you can grab some snack or food if you are hungry in the midnight. The opposite is the famous MIYAHARA ice cream shop, you can buy and take back to your room to eat it. ^^

location is really good. it is convenient since there are bus stops nearby to go around the city there is also a nice night market nearby and nice food options/ restaurants only downside is that the rooms are near and little to no sound proofing so the showers and can hear people showering / blowdrying hair at night. I still had a good sleep with my ear plugs on. The living / lounge area is also small and with people working who are staying there longer hoarding the only dining table for their work stuff so if this is not an issue for you and for short stays. I reco this hostel!

We were given a change to a very nice room. Although it cost a little extra, the waiter was really attentive and polite. On the other hand, I really appreciated their breakfast preparation. The salads and sandwiches were freshly made, which was very heartwarming. I was very grateful to the breakfast cook who noticed that my husband did not eat salads and cooked two boiled eggs and carrot cakes for him the next day. I appreciated her attentiveness and service attitude. We came from Hong Kong and it was our first time to Guguan. We were very happy and grateful for this three-day, two-night trip to Guguan. Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, it is acceptable. The hygiene is also good, the waiters are very good, and the new building under construction next to the hotel should be better next time we come. I will stay here again next time, thank you and wish the waiter well.

We booked a one-night stay in a SPA-themed room with two double beds. We checked into the hotel at 7:35 PM on July 24th. Upon entering the room, we discovered the toilet wasn't flushing and there was no cold water in the private hot spring bathroom. We immediately notified the front desk, and hotel staff promptly came to fix it. They explained it might have been due to a water supply issue. Since the hot spring bathroom only had scalding hot water and no cold, it was impossible to take a bath. After urgent repairs, both hot and cold water were restored around 11:15 PM. However, by midnight, the toilet started leaking non-stop (it was still leaking when we checked out). Upon waking up in the morning, we were very concerned about a potential electrical hazard. Paying such a high price for a hotel with so many faulty facilities was truly not worth it. After checking out, the hotel offered us a pudding as an apology. However, this experience was utterly unsatisfactory, leaving a very poor impression of the hotel's facilities and overall quality. We definitely won't be returning.

Overall, I was quite disappointed. Right from check-in, the staff couldn't find my reservation, and they even asked for my surname in English, and the number and gender of guests, which was a bit odd. I noticed a lot of things because I was waiting for my luggage in the lobby for a very long time. The seating area around the art installation in the lobby was dusty, especially the back rows, and the outdoor area was full of fallen leaves. While I was busy with my child and family arranging crafts, my luggage had already been taken to the room. When I realized I needed my carry-on bag, the staff said they would retrieve it from the room for me (we hadn't even checked into the room yet). I had a carry-on with my child's daily essentials, and my child needed to use the restroom. So, we waited in the lobby for that bag for nearly 20 minutes. Regarding the other facilities, the welcome tea was incredibly simple. The window in our room had large water stains on the glass (I initially thought it was fog). Below our room, there was an area with weeds and what looked like abandoned moss, which felt out of place. It seemed like the most effort the hotel put in was the gardening, and I couldn't understand why this particular area existed; it was a huge contrast. Considering all meal costs are extra, it really didn't offer good value for money at all. The food, however, was very good, and the laundry service was a plus. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming. If the room rates were lower, I might consider revisiting. But if the prices and facilities remain as they are, I won't be returning.

This could easily be the best backpack rooms I have ever stayed in. Bed is comfy with adequate personal space. There is a desk at the end of the bed, I could write my journal in my own space. This is very much a business travel hotel, perhaps a bit too business-oriented... so I didn't quite like it. In terms of service, I felt it fell a bit short compared to other hotels. It was as if the staff didn't see me at all; there was no proactive service. However, they were enthusiastic with other guests, and that disparity made me uncomfortable. Hygene: No issues. Facilities: The in-room facilities were quite comprehensive, and it even came with a TV. Environment: It's a business hotel, located in a newer, rather tidy and clean district of Taichung. There are many BBQ restaurants nearby (Taichung's BBQ is famous), so remember to book in advance.

Before the ***** New Year, we took a trip to Taichung and stayed at a hotel near Feng Chia Night Market. The location is excellent, right at the entrance of the night market and opposite the university's main gate. Everything else was fine, but they charged an extra NT$180 for our 8-year-old for breakfast. We went down at 10:10 AM and there was almost nothing left, so our child ended up just having half a bowl of braised pork rice. That was really expensive! There's a whole row of breakfast places downstairs, so if you're staying here, definitely don't include breakfast. It's not worth it at all; you're better off trying local breakfast spots or the student-favorite queues. Another point is the lack of parking. They sent us to a contracted parking lot two blocks away, and we still had to pay an additional NT$160 per car. That's really inconvenient and not cost-effective. Other than these issues, everything else was okay. The lobby is on the 12th floor, check-out requires going up, and breakfast is also on the 12th floor, while the rooms are below the 12th floor. This arrangement was fine, I guess.

The room was super spacious, the bed was just right in terms of softness, and the pillows were comfortable. Even though it's by a main road, it's not noisy at all once you close the windows! We got upgraded to a family room with play facilities (room 205), which was a shame since the kids weren't with us. They even had little slippers for children and a step stool for the sink, which was incredibly thoughtful. There was plenty of drinking water, drinks, instant noodles, and biscuits, so you definitely won't go hungry at night. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it included braised pork rice, congee, soup, vegetarian dishes, breakfast sausages, fried items, fries, as well as a salad bar, biscuits, milk, coffee, and other drinks... You're guaranteed to be full until noon. The weekday price is really sweet, definitely recommended!

We booked two rooms, but they were different sizes. The quad room had two double beds that left no space to move around, making it difficult for kids to play in. The hotel also offered very few facilities for children. The bathroom was tiny; there wasn't enough room for two people to brush their teeth simultaneously or for showering a child. It really felt like a single-person bathroom. On the positive side, there was ample parking, a water dispenser, and unlimited access to the coffee shop, which was nice and convenient. The front desk staff were always very friendly!

Hotel is great overall, but beds are really hard surface type. The hotel feels like was last renovated / built some 20 or so years ago, which makes everything looks dated. However, in terms of cleanliness, service and location it is an excellent hotel (if you are ok sleeping on a hard bed). Staff is very helpful. We didn’t try spa or dining so cannot comment here. Location is good: it is not too far from central district yet if you’re driving (we did) you don’t have to drive through the most congested areas. There are a few excellent coffee places nearby. Many places around to eat.

However, if needed, they are willing to help.  The most inconvenient thing is that the hotel does not provide bottled water. You have to use the hotel's provided kettle to get filtered water outside the room, which is extremely inconvenient and feels unhygienic. This should not be the service provided by a five-star hotel. We had a great stay at Freshfields Hotel in Taichung. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, nicely maintained and very comfortable. While the location isn’t the most convenient, the hotel offers shuttle services that you can book in advance, which made getting around much easier. A heads-up for anyone planning to use the public baths: make sure to bring a swimming cap or shower cap, as well as a swimsuit. If you forget, you’ll need to purchase them at the hotel in order to use the facilities. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable experience!

It is a very nice hotel with great location. The hotel is located at around 10mins on taxi from the train station (25min walk). There is a tiny night market and a cinema nearby. The classic room has a very strange shape and is very small, so I won’t recommend for anyone. The service was great where the staff are polite and helpful. The hotel also offers bike lending service for free for up to 3hrs. This is very helpful for me exploring the city in a short period of time. One big issue I found is the sound proof is very poor. I was able to hear noise very clearly from people walking /talking outside my room.

GGuest UserIt is a very nice hotel with great location. The hotel is located at around 10mins on taxi from the train station (25min walk). There is a tiny night market and a cinema nearby. The classic room has a very strange shape and is very small, so I won’t recommend for anyone. The service was great where the staff are polite and helpful. The stay was good, rooms were spacious, cozy and clean. The first impression from the front desk agent was a little disappointing. They don't seem welcoming. The hotel looks grand but the front desk agent were cold and distant. Breakfast spread was good as there were many choices. Kids playground was decent, clean and spacious. Laundry system was a little wonky, you had to pay way more for the stipulated operation time for the cleaning and drying. Overall it was a satisfactory stay.

The location is fantastic! Downstairs there's a bus station, making it super convenient to get to Sun Moon Lake. Taichung Station is also right in front, just a 6-7 minute walk away. However, even though we stayed overnight, they only provided one bottle of water per person. The next morning, when I wanted to make coffee provided by the hotel and asked the front desk for another bottle, they refused. The staff member was a bit unfriendly and expressionless, and there's no water dispenser in the lobby for guests either.

It was old but  clean & again smells like sewer water & power plugs was next to TV & far from bed , location was good but I think it was expensive for a old hotel anyway I did reserve it in a last second !!!! So I guess it’s ok for one night
