I had a really nice stay here and was even able to extend my stay for another night spontaneously. The hostel is in walking distance (~5-10min) from the train station which is super convenient. The bed was really great with a lot of space as well. In addition, the staff were super helpful and kind. They provide a little breakfast with toast and croissants and there’s a very spacious common area as well.

Location is slightly away from the Taichung railway station, about 10-15mins. There is an outlet mall linked to the hotel but not much options to shop in my opinion.

It doesn't even have a proper lobby for cars to drop off passengers. The facilities and rooms are very dated. It doesn't even provide hand soap! The room is quite clean but there is lack of electrical sockets.

The room is clean, the breakfast is excellent, location is central in the city, and the price is more than reasonable. I want to particularly mention Miss Herin Lin (林珮慈). She went extra miles to help my wife seeking medical assistance by accompanying us going to hospital, arranging all the paper work and everything. We travel extensively all over the world. We think by any standard Miss Lin is a model worker in hospitality industry.

First of all, the staff were friendly and helpful to introduce and explain the rules to me, this is one of the things I like so much. The lobby resting/meeting area was clean and tidy, which very nice for us to hang out and chit chat over there. There is also a living room with television, piano and dining table outside of the rooms as well, which I think is very nice. The room is clean, neat, not to mention the bathroom and toilet are clean as well. Overall it is good, very cheap price for a bunk bed, my staying experience was good.

The first impression of the hotel was fantastic. The grand entrance with its high ceilings gave off a welcoming and elegant vibe. The lobby also looked stylish and thoughtfully designed, which set a nice tone for the stay.
A special mention goes to the young concierge who helped us with our parking and luggage. He was polite, efficient, and made a great first impression.
We arrived slightly ahead of check-in, which is strictly from 3pm. Thankfully, the hotel provides access to the Fong Room while you wait. The space offers free drinks, light snacks, games, and a seating area. It was a really nice bonus, not something every hotel offers, and genuinely enhanced the guest experience.
We booked three rooms but only two were ready when we checked in. This was a lapse in service, particularly since there was no apology or gesture of goodwill. Honestly, it came across as unprofessional and slightly disappointing.
Another observation was the inconsistency between rooms. Even though we reserved the same room type, each had a different setup. One room was missing the couch shown in the listing and didn’t have a tub, while another had a small coffee table instead. That said, the rooms were stylish and comfortable overall. The scented foaming hand soap really stood out, surprisingly memorable!
Breakfast was decent, with a reasonable variety. Despite a couple of service missteps, we’d recommend this hotel to travelers looking to stay near Feng Chia Night Market.FromINR 9,010

There’s no in-hotel room service or breakfast provided however order can be placed with them at the front desk. Walkable distance to railway station and eateries. Check in was prompt. However the sound proofing was quite bad cos I think someone next door got quite drunk and the commotion can be heard quite clearly. The room cleanliness is good, but the front desk staff are somewhat cold and lack friendliness. However, if needed, they are willing to help.
The most inconvenient thing is that the hotel does not provide bottled water. You have to use the hotel's provided kettle to get filtered water outside the room, which is extremely inconvenient and feels unhygienic.
This should not be the service provided by a five-star hotel.

Great for family trip. The service of room was satisfying and quite fast. As soon as we enter our room in third floor, we noticed the size of slippers provided was too large. To our surprise, they took care of the problem almost immediately. I will give the service five star. As for the swimming pool, the quality of water is also good enough for children in 6-12 age group. BTW, thanks for the swimming pool service people. They gave us medication for mosquito biting in emergency.

We had a great stay at Freshfields Hotel in Taichung. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, nicely maintained and very comfortable. While the location isn’t the most convenient, the hotel offers shuttle services that you can book in advance, which made getting around much easier.
A heads-up for anyone planning to use the public baths: make sure to bring a swimming cap or shower cap, as well as a swimsuit. If you forget, you’ll need to purchase them at the hotel in order to use the facilities.

This is very much a business travel hotel, perhaps a bit too business-oriented... so I didn't quite like it.
In terms of service, I felt it fell a bit short compared to other hotels. It was as if the staff didn't see me at all; there was no proactive service. However, they were enthusiastic with other guests, and that disparity made me uncomfortable.
Hygene: No issues.
Facilities: The in-room facilities were quite comprehensive, and it even came with a TV.

To our surprise, they took care of the problem almost immediately. I will give the service five star. As for the swimming pool, the quality of water is also good enough for children in 6-12 age group. BTW, thanks for the swimming pool service people. They gave us medication for mosquito biting in emergency.

|21.47km from city centerThe B&B counter service hours are from 9 to 5 o'clock. There is no one at other times and no contact information was left. The B&B is located in a landscaped park, and there are dining guests and tourists. However, the door of the B&B has no access control, and anyone can enter and exit at will. When I was using the massage chair on the first floor at 7 o'clock in the evening, a tourist, Uncle, opened the door directly, stepped in with his shoes on, and walked straight in to the corridor of the room to visit and comment. I was scared to death and could only be thankful that I had booked a room on the second floor that day. I quickly went upstairs and asked my daughters to lock the door, and warned them not to go to the first floor alone to play with toys. The safety issue is really worrying.
Then there is no ladder in the bathtub, making it inconvenient to get in and out. When bathing, the line of sight is too low to see the scenery. Moreover, standing outside the house, you can clearly see the room and bathroom on the second floor. There is no way to enjoy the bath as suggested in the photo. Enjoy the scenery.
The outdoor hot spring part is basically deserted, and only foot baths can be used. Breakfast was ordinary, just a sandwich box in a picnic basket.

|2.05km from city centerHad a great stay at Hotel Si! The showers had constant hot water with strong pressure, and they even provided travel adapters. The water dispensers on every floor were clean and convenient. The lobby was spacious, open, and beautifully decorated with plenty of plants.
However, an important thing to note—our room had a balcony, and the toilet was located outside on it. This can be inconvenient, especially at night or in winter when you have to take a few chilly steps back to the bedroom after a shower.
The Sealy bed was super comfortable, but the blanket wasn’t the best. The duvet cover kept shifting due to loose ties, which left empty spaces inside. The TV was large and had YouTube and Netflix, but it was quite laggy—maybe Haier isn’t the best brand for TVs.
On the plus side, the location is fantastic! There’s a great massage parlour and a live band bar nearby. That said, the strict 4 PM check-in policy can lead to long queues, and parking is limited to just five spots outside, though alternatives are available.
One small suggestion—the hotel might want to consider rebranding as ”Hotel Xi” instead of ”Hotel Si,” as ”Si” means ”die” in Mandarin, which is a cultural taboo for Chinese guests.
Overall, it’s a decent option if the price is right. The separate toilet setup was a huge downside for me, but the convenience of the location makes up for it. Would consider staying again!

When its weekend you can hear people party outside which is good. If you want shopping you can also do that. They have free water station. Near to 7/11. Close to many filipino, thai and vietnam food which is sooo cheap. Also you can enjoy the lobby because they have a piano where you can take pictures and relax. The hotel is cold also and have nice design. And the room are soooo big. They have 4-6 elevators which are fast. Going to 4th floor. Reception is 24 hours and always friendly.

While the location isn’t the most convenient, the hotel offers shuttle services that you can book in advance, which made getting around much easier.
A heads-up for anyone planning to use the public baths: make sure to bring a swimming cap or shower cap, as well as a swimsuit. If you forget, you’ll need to purchase them at the hotel in order to use the facilities.

The room is clean, the breakfast is excellent, location is central in the city, and the price is more than reasonable. I want to particularly mention Miss Herin Lin (林珮慈). She went extra miles to help my wife seeking medical assistance by accompanying us going to hospital, arranging all the paper work and everything. We travel extensively all over the world. We think by any standard Miss Lin is a model worker in hospitality industry.
We have no doubt that Evergreen Laurel Hotel will be our first choice when we visit Taichung again!
