"Today the word "luxury" has been diluted by overuse. Everything has its "luxury" tag nowadays - from coffee blends to detergents. Coco Chanel once said that luxury is not the opposite of poverty, it is the opposite of vulgarity. And that sums up the Belle Époque Ritz in a nutshell! Everything about The Ritz madrid is elegance. From the beautiful interior, the luxurious upholstery and beautiful carpeting woven in the Royal Tapestry Factory founded in 1720. The staff are silently gliding around dressed impeccably, with equally matched service."
"The Ritz name (rather than brand) always preempts high expectations. It is a tradition and history of memorable service and comfort. For my first Ritz experience, I was not disappointed, everything as soon as you walk through these doors is just excellent. Smiling and caring staff, amazing bedrooms and delicious food...there is nothing bad to say about this hotel. I dare anyone to find a single issue there actually..."
"Ideally located in Madrid, this palace offers exactly what you expect when you spend that amount of money. Everything was perfect from the moment we checked-in until the end of our stay! 5 stars are no match for what you guys offer."

"Pros: Good location in central Madrid, with quite easy access to nearby metro stations. Sadly that’s pretty much it for the pros Cons: Shower: was annoying because the hot water was about as reliable as a knitted condom and the thing which holds the shower hose was broken so you literally had to hold the thing in your hand the whole time. Room: (1st floor, double) was simply ugly with dull walls and an all-grey bed. Far too small for a double room. The woollen blanket was dirty with clumps of hair and stains from past guests in it. The bed was also slightly too small, although to be fair I’m quite tall and it was quite a negligible issue. WiFi: 3 different Networks. All of them require the same tedious password. All of them promise you 3 bars the whole time. None of them work. I hope your 4G works because God knows this place’s WiFi doesn’t Breakfast: Yeah no. They give you coupons to be used in one of two nearby cafés. This lets you get the ‘breakfast option’ for free. If you want anything else you need to pay standard rate. Well what is the ‘breakfast option?’ I hear you ask. Simple; one croissant, a coffee and an orange juice. Key & access: No elevator which isn’t that bad to be honest, but is annoying when you have heavy luggage. They give you one key (non-electronic) which you need to use to lock you door, otherwise it’s just closed. Not overly difficult, just a bit old fashioned which isn’t really my style. Also when you want to go in the main entrance you need to ring a bell like in a block of flats and ask the receptionist for permission. To be fair to them they did always answer quickly, spoke English and did let me in all the time, It just made me feel awkward to bother someone every time I came back. I mean I’ve been in worse hostels before and I don’t want to come across as snobbish it’s just when you pay €266 for two nights in a place that presents itself as quality, you wouldn’t expect to find something like this. In summary: if it were cheaper and clearer what exactly it was it would be fine, but in reality it is overpriced and very underwhelming, but does have good access to Madrid "
"Visited a two 🌟 🌟 hotel in Paris and a one 🌟 hotel in Madrid, if compare both, the one 🌟 hotel in Madrid, looks like a three 🌟 🌟 🌟 hotel in France. So I recommend you to see further the pics they've upload."
"The price is very cheap, the location is no more convenient on the hillside, the sound is not good, the foreigner is too loud."

Calle Preciados, 44,\N, Madrid, Community Of Madrid, Spain
"Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely receptionist (although I didn’t get his name) who checked us in quickly and gave us all the information on Madrid via map as it was our first visit to the city. Sadly we didn’t see him again however we would just like to give him a special mention as he made us feel extremely welcome. (He was working around 12pm on 13/02/2020) We were given a superior room on the 7th floor which was small but cosy. The decor from the reception, lobby and all the way to the room was very modern. The bathroom was lovely and spacious with censored lights as you walked in and out, a waterfall shower with good pressure/temperature and shower robes and slippers provided (only size XL but they were still very comfy). Fresh towels were provided everyday along with daily top ups of all amenities such as shampoo, shower gel etc. The mirrored wardrobe was quite small with only 5 hangers however it did supply many shelves which came in handy. There was also a coffee machine in the wardrobe which was also refilled everyday and worked great. The bed was extremely comfortable and the TV was huge, modern and came with apps such as Netflix, YouTube and other streaming options available to log in to. The balcony gave us a lovely view over the streets of Madrid and we could even see the royal palace in the distance which looked amazing at sunset. Even though we were in the middle of it all, when the balcony door was closed you couldn’t hear anything from outside which was a bonus. On our second day we decided to check out breakfast which wasn’t much to be desired. Whilst the staff were lovely and the restaurant itself was very stylish and clean, it was tiny with little option. We decided after that to walk a short 7-8 minute walk everyday to the San Miguel Market as their options there are flawless and filling for any time of the day. Another problem we also encountered was a strange and unpleasant smell coming from our bathroom around 9–10pm every evening. We did report this to reception however the receptionist just told us she didn’t know why and didn’t really give any solution or help. We ended up running the shower for about 20 minutes for it to eventually go away but perhaps this is something the hotel should look in to as it’s not really a guests job to fix. One last annoyance is that the walls are quiet thin and you can hear others talking etc from time to time so if you book here I hope you don’t get noisy neighbours. I would like to say however apart from a few niggles the team at First One where extremely helpful. They even allowed us a courtesy check out until 1:30pm as we had a late flight and also helped us book several recommended restaurants over the course of our stay. Overall the hotel is lovely, modern and located in the heart of Madrid - perfect for those who are seeking to explore all of the city by foot as we did. "
"First time in Madrid, and this hotel was the perfect choice. I mentioned that it was our engagement trip, and the staff welcomed us with a bottle of champagne and handwritten note in the room!!! Friendly staff, central location, and fun neighborhood. Rooms are super clean since this is a new hotel. The TV's were new too, so we were able to connect to it and watch Netflix lol. Alejandra, the director there, has great recommendations.. make sure you ask before reserving at restaurants based on Yelp (not all restaurants with high Yelp reviews are worth it). The Front Desk staff is also super friendly and helpful!"
"Small hotel but with a perfect location in the "middle of everything". Lovely room, fantastic wallpapers! Wanted room service breakfast for my birthday but they didn´t offer that. But when they heard that it was my birthday the set up a lovely breakfast for us in our room! Nicely done! Would really recommend this hotel."

Calle de Sevilla 3, Madrid, Community Of Madrid, Spain
"This is a hotel that has just been inaugurated at a historical location after some very lengthy and costly restoration project. The setting is spectacular. The public areas, the rooms, the spa, the pool, the staff is all at the top of the game- and top money, but that is fair enough. However, in my books a five star hotel experience is primarily about the accommodation plus the breakfast. One of the reasons why I choose a luxury hotel for a weekend break is the possibility to enjoy a top quality breakfast/brunch on a Sunday morning in a great setting without having to worry about time or about anything. This is not what you will get at this hotel. There are basically two choices for breakfast at the Four Seasons Madrid: one, you take it in your room. This may be fine for a quick breakfast during work trips, but I just do not particularly enjoy the idea of a leisure breakfast in my room. In any case, in a property like this (and at their rates) there should absolutely be a choice for breakfast at a dedicated public space. The second choice is taking breakfast basically in the lobby. The setting is, well, a lobby setting: sofas and armchairs with low coffee tables at the public entrance of the hotel close to reception and the concierge. The food choice is well, limited, as you would expect from a lobby setting – ok for nibbles, a quick drink or an informal business meeting, but not for your weekend breakfast/brunch experience. Not even for breakfast during work trips – I would be concerned about dropping food and staining my clothes even before the work day has started. This is something the hotel is not at all clear about in their publicity and an issue prospective guests should be aware of. The hotel claims that this is due to existing COVID-19 restrictions but quite honestly, I fail to see the benefits COVID-wise of not having a dedicated space for breakfast for their guests all while, for example, having a fully operational spa. While I loved the settings and the rooms, and can only speak highly of their staff, I do not think I will be returning to this hotel due to this, in my view, serious failure in their basic service offering."
"Absolutely phenomenal experience. Perhaps the best of my life in any hotel. Since we made the reservation, the hotel has been communicative and wrote to us to know our preferences, arrival and departure times, and the amenities they have in the facilities. The property is a dream: 7 historic buildings in the center of Madrid, right in the Puerta del Sol. The area is safe and very busy. I am sure that the presence of the Four Seasons in the neighborhood will help the recovery of the Center and that there are fewer places for tourists and more for locals. As soon as you arrive, the doorman greets you, you check-in, they give you a tour of the property and they show you your room. They made us an upgrade with views of the street of Seville. The spa is beautiful, with a gym, heated pool, sunbeds inside and outside. Large and comfortable rooms, about 45-50 m2. Comfortable bathrooms with separate shower and tub. Large closet space. Room service could be improved: our burgers were a bit cold and after they cleaned the table some mess was left behind. The restaurants at El Patio and Dani de Dani García are great. Breakfast is a must, and if you can, ask for the Americano. You will not need to eat more in the day. Our train left at night on the day we checked out and the entire team made that day special. Recommended luxury property, and the best experience we could dream of. Thanks to the entire FS Madrid team."
"This is definitely the best palace hotel in Madrid. The rooms are beautifully furnished and renovated (the hotel opened in sept20). They are exceptionnaly clean ! Service is fantastic : from the concierge team (special thanls to emma) who were so helpful at organizing our stay to the staff at breakfast. The ipad in the bedroom enable you to chat with the staff and to make a request at any time : this is amazingly helpful. I recommend breakfast at Dani : food is excellent ! The hotel is ideally located at the center of madrid : everything is at walking distance. I recommend 200% and we will definitely come back :-)"

"Hotel was wonderful. Room was really a small apartment with lots of comfort and amenities. Only stayed 1 night but could see it being a really nice place for longer stays in Madrid. Location was incredibly convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, easily walkable to the Prado and many great eating areas. Area felt safe for walking around after dark. Front desk hours are limited and there is no large sign for the hotel on the street or lobby you can wait in without already having a key. Staff are incredibly friendly and responsive, but I would make sure you have arranged a reliable means of communication with them in advance and let them know your arrival time if you are not going to have reliable cell phone service/data or are not arriving exactly at the hotel's check in time."
"This is a 'boutique hotel' in that you will directly interact with the owner/manager, James. This is an added bonus as James is awesome - so hospitable, attentive and cool. We would've wanted him to come with us to the great suggestions he gave us in the neighborhood. The space and amenities were some of the best we had on our trip. The rooms are gorgeous with stylish and comfortable furniture, perfect mattresses, and newly finished bathrooms and kitchenettes. The WiFi was fast, and James accommodated our every need. The location and neighborhood was best we've found in Madrid. We will definitely return just for this hotel."
"What a fabulous hotel this is. Beautiful stylish and very comfortable suite of rooms. Love the decor ..so individual. It's so well located right in the heart of Madrids art and museum district , with Retiro Park literally 5 minutes walk away. James and his team have created a "home from home" in the centre of Madrid that is a joy to stay in..with all the facilities one needs , be it for a business or vacation stay. I will definitely be staying here again."

"We stayed in this hotel for just a few nights before the state of emergency was declared in Spain. Besides the fact that the hotel is beautiful and very well located, the reception staff was incredibly supportive when we decided to fly back home two days before our planned departure date. No extra costs charged to us, a suite for my kids at the price of a regular room and all of that with a smile. We will not forget it and will be back."
"We were jet lagged after 13.5 hours of flying, and they were very nice and professional. The hotel is walking distance to everything and they offer great service and assistance. But, the alley they are connected to seems to have druggies hanging outside and being noisy. I wish this could change. But our presidential suite was gorgeous and new, and the service was fantastic if we needed anything."
"This hotel is a good Four Star hotel , or a low grade five Star. Does not live up the Its rating at all. Most of the staff is untrained, Nice and helpful most of them, but not up to the standard I suppose they aim to be. The rooms are really very uncomfortable. Not luxurious at all, but more like a design hotel where Its supposed to appear like quality but isn’t. Bed was very hard. A forgettable stay and better and cheaper hotels in Madrid for sure. They had l’occitane toiletries which is also not my favourite. The front desk manager was up to par, and made the stay better."

"Hotel location is good, convenient, just near the scenic spot. The facilities are complete, the front desk staff is enthusiastic, patient, my lame English, they try hard to listen, try to reply with simple and simple sentences, very intimate"
"Hotel location is good. There is a subway nearby. The sights of Madrid are very concentrated, and it’s not too small to come. There is no need to buy 10 cards, which can't be used. Buying now is quite good. Hotel facilities are relatively old, facilities are worse than domestic same-star hotels."
"Good location; convenient transportation; very delicious Chinese food nearby; very close to Madrid Royal Palace, main square and other attractions, very convenient. The room is still big, facilities and services, health is very good, five stars!"

"The hotel recommended by friends on the last night in Madrid, because the hotel of the same name has two in the local area, the driver started to go wrong, and later I learned that we booked the luxury version of his home: boutique hotel. The hotel is small, located opposite the theatre, surrounded by a number of moody designer stores, convenient to walk around. Our family of three is a suite. It is a big surprise to enter the room. The room is quite beautiful and exquisite. The middle is a large and beautiful terrace courtyard overlooking the whole street. Going to Madrid to experience the best combination of classic and modern, it must be this hotel. Absolutely recommended."
"1. Breakfast is very good, put a table, full. It is right to eat local things, and it is recommended that the parents who go abroad bring their own cup noodles. 2. The room is blue and white, and it is very well matched with the decorative blue and white porcelain. The details are everywhere, and Spain is the country with the most artists. 3. What impressed me the most was that there were slippers and a hot water bottle. 4. The hotel is very nice to go around, where we are all going. 5. Hotel service is very good. 6. The elevator mouth has capsule coffee and snacks before noon, so you can't eat it."
"The hotel is not in the main street, it is quiet in the middle of noisy, the ceramic elements with Chinese characteristics are decorated, the bathroom is large, the room is not very big but very comfortable, and the travel is convenient. It is convenient to go to the sights, shopping for 5 minutes, there are places to eat, drink and play around, there is no big disadvantage except expensive. The staff is very nice."

"Can be an extra bed, we are 8 years old and there is no extra bed fee. But this time the hygiene is not good. On the day of the check-in, the bathtub in the room was all sand and stone. It was not cleaned. Waiting for the waiter to open the night bed, I asked for cleaning. In the evening, I went to the small garden to rest, and I ordered a glass of champagne. The waiter actually used a glass of water-filled glass (estimated to be washed and not dried) and poured champagne directly to me, hehe! The next day, the children will sleep more than 7 o'clock in the afternoon. As a result, the children's bed and the quilt are inexplicably wet. Later I went to the front desk and asked them to make better bedding. Very hurt. In such a good location, the rest of the hotel is very good, it is a sanitary situation, it is unacceptable."
"It is completely overdue. Upgraded the suite, up and down the building, early check-in in the morning, very very high quality price ratio. Impeccable. Small hotel, warm and well-organized. Walk to the famous brand area such as Hermes, recommended!"
"Hotel shopping is more convenient, Ingles department store walk 10 minutes, next to the big names gathered. The hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful, the breakfast is beautiful and the environment is very good. Drinking in the garden at night is also very relaxing. The room is small, although it is a suite, the service is not bad."
