Excellent! The price was much cheaper than what you'd pay domestically. The location is decent, though a bit far from the night market and the bustling downtown area. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, with both Western and Chinese sections to choose from, offering enough variety that you wouldn't repeat a dish even if you stayed for three days. The noodles and rice noodles were especially delicious.

Pros: The hotel location is good, making it convenient to walk everywhere. The room was very spacious with a balcony. Booking directly at the front desk is more expensive than booking through an app. Amenities like toothpaste, comb, and shower cap were provided in a pack. Cons: The security is very poor. It's a key card system where any card can open any room. I encountered someone trying to enter my room at 1 AM. I screamed, and the person, startled by opening the wrong room, quickly closed the door. This incident kept me awake all night. Good thing I only stayed for one night.... The hotel is old. If you book as a walk-in, the price doesn't match the room quality. The bathroom had standing water and drained slowly when showering. The towels had a musty smell, as if they were folded before being completely dry.

This hotel offers incredible value for money. Firstly, they provide a complimentary, private airport transfer service – not a large shuttle bus, but a clean and brand new 5-seater car, just for you. Secondly, the hotel environment is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the bed, which is incredibly cozy. Thirdly, the breakfast spread is incredibly rich, offering a wide variety of Chinese, Japanese, Western, Thai, and local specialties. Most importantly, the price is unbeatable; the value for money is outstanding. The only minor drawback is the lack of Chinese-speaking staff. It would be even better if they could improve this in the future by having Chinese-speaking front desk personnel.

Duy, Phat Ri, Sara, and Coconut are a few of the names of the brilliant people who make this excellent hotel what it is. Any travel I needed to do, (such as to Luang Prabang), was organised for me very solicitously and effectively. Getting to and from train stations and bus depots was also organised by Duy and Patrick at the front desk. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, those who keep them 'just so' are friendly, timely, thorough and efficient. The pool is always clean as it is regularly cleaned. Breakfast is reliably tasty.Cooked dishes arrive from the kitchen in just a couple of minutes from when they're ordered and plenty of passion fruit, (always quickly replenished) , are to be found on the buffet. I felt safe and cared for the entire time, and could tell that this sense of security and comfort is something also enjoyed by my fellow guests. I'd recommend the Vientiane Garden Boutique Hotel to anyone travelling to Laos; and, especially, first time visitors who'd like the support and local knowledge happily provided by the people working there.

Pool is okay but no loungers to lie on… Breakfast is decent but they don’t put descriptions underneath so you don’t know what kind of meat it is, and they don't seem to know either… No rooftop. No bar. No laundry service. Only one porter opened the door for me once on my last day and helped me put my things in my Uber; on other days, we didn't know who the porter was, several people were playing games in front… Old bathroom with black grout, but otherwise well-maintained.

Stayed at Ibis Vientiane and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located right in the heart of town, making it very convenient to explore nearby restaurants, cafes, and attractions. The room was relatively spacious compared to many budget hotels, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing for a good night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and provided good service throughout the stay. Areas for Improvement: The hotel seems to prioritize energy conservation, but the lighting in both the room and common areas is quite dim. At times, it felt a little uncomfortable, especially during the evening. Another issue was the wall power outlets, which were rather loose and flimsy. They could not properly support my heavy-duty travel adapter, so I had to improvise by using a bottle to hold it in place while charging. Slippers are not provided in the room by default and need to be requested separately. While the staff were helpful, having to contact reception and collect them added a bit of inconvenience. Overall: A comfortable and well-located hotel with good service and decent room size. With brighter lighting and improved power outlets, the stay would be even better. 4/5 stars.

Nice & clean facilities. Front desk was very helpful. Not a fan of the $100 security deposit but I understand. Always double check your room(s) for previous damage(s) as it may count against your security deposit. My room had a sofa seat that had one of the 4 legs damaged and my brother-in-law's room had one of the sofa seat with a dirty stain so please be very advised. We had it reported so it wouldn't count against us. Morning breakfast was good. Loved the variety of food choices. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we wouldn't mind staying here again.

Vientiane Plaza Hotel Overall, the hotel offers good value for money. The staff were excellent and very helpful. My girlfriend accidentally booked the wrong month (it was her first time booking), but the team handled the situation professionally. There was one short female staff member in particular who was very friendly and supportive we really appreciated her help. Cleanliness and service were both excellent. The location is also very convenient, with a large shopping mall within walking distance and a popular night street food area about 15 minutes away. You can also use the Koko app (around 20,000 kip) instead of the hotel taxi — it’s very convenient in Laos. Breakfast had many options, but the food preparation could be improved. It would be great to see more vegetarian choices, such as rice, vegetable soup, or Indian-style vegetable dishes that pair well with rice. The hotel is still undergoing upgrades, and some areas on the 5th floor were quite dark and felt a bit uncomfortable. Hopefully this will improve once renovations are complete. Also there is a coffee shop downstairs and as well a club with very good music and a lively mix of people a nice place to socialize and make friends. Overall: A good hotel with great staff and good value. With some improvements to breakfast quality and ongoing renovations completed, it would be even better.

1️⃣ This hotel is absolutely stunning from the outside, almost the most exquisite on Yongzheng Night Market street. However, the inside feels quite disconnected from the exterior. It caters primarily to a Western clientele, with prices in USD. On our first night, the bedsheets were a bit dirty, so we contacted the front desk to have them changed. We stayed for a total of three nights. 2️⃣ Breakfast is à la carte with an additional self-service buffet. All the cuts and presentations were incredibly refined, even the fruit was artfully arranged. We tried the pho, Singaporean fishball noodles, Eggs Benedict, and omelets 🥚. 3️⃣ The location is fantastic. Step out of the hotel lobby, turn left, and you're at Yongzhen Night Market. Turn right, and you're at Mekong River Night Market. It's incredibly convenient for grabbing snacks or exploring the night markets.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with a luxurious atmosphere. The front desk staff speak English very well, and the restaurant team is equally fluent. I really loved how the hotel truly captures an authentic Lao vibe. However, I’d like to note a few things that I feel a five-star hotel should have. No room slippers provided, which I believe are an essential amenity. No bidet spray in the bathroom, which is pretty much a must-have for modern bathrooms. The bed is quite small for a five-star standard. Normally, it should be at least a King-size (6ft), but this was a Queen-size (5ft). Overall, it was still a great experience and not bad at all. I’m still giving it 5 stars.

Le Seine is beautifully located facing the Mekong River, offering, in my view, the best riverfront scenery in Vientiane. The hotel is within walking distance of the night market and many of the city’s main attractions. The rooms and overall property are very well curated, fully in line with a boutique hotel experience. Nice facilities, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and excellent showers. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. The rooftop bar is also a highlight, with live music and a fantastic view over the river. The only negative note was regarding my advanced reservation for a higher-floor Deluxe River View room. As this was a special occasion, I had even called a couple of days prior to confirm availability and specifically requested a room on the 3rd or 4th floor. However, despite arriving at the earliest check-in time, I was informed that all rooms of that category on the higher floors had already been assigned and were no longer available.

The reason we choose this hotel was it was closer to train station and offered free drop off service. The hotel is located at outskirts of Vientiane and so it took some time to get there. The breakfast had mostly Chinese food. The swimming pool and area around the hotel was nice, especially at the evening after hot day. The reception person didn’t speak English but with the English-Chinese translation app, there was no problem of communicating. There was a strange smell so the reception called the repair man who has cleaned the airconditioner dust and it cleared the air.

I regret to say that this is by far the worst five-star property in Vientiane. In fact, they should place a disclaimer stating that it is strictly for Chinese guests, as communication is virtually impossible unless you speak Chinese. Despite displaying a five-star plaque, the experience falls egregiously short of that standard. Whenever I spoke in English, staff members would merely glance at me and offer no response at all; some even turned their backs and walked away, as if signaling that they simply do not care to understand English. There was only a single English-speaking staff member at the front desk. Unless she is present, it is best not to utter a word—unless you wish to be met with icy indifference. The male waitstaff at the restaurant readily responded, but only in the most perfunctory manner. When I inquired in English whether an omelet could be made, a staff member nodded, so I placed an order. When I returned five minutes later and found nothing prepared, I brought it up again; he pretended not to hear me before dismissively waving his hand, claiming they had no such thing. It was commonplace to witness guests lying across sofas directly behind breakfast tables while shouting amongst themselves, or strolling shirtless around the food stations. Perhaps because it is one of the newer five-star properties in Vientiane, the room condition itself remains decent. However, the hospitality across the board—from the front desk and restaurant to the cafe—toward guests who do not speak Chinese leaves one utterly speechless. As someone who genuinely appreciates China and has traveled across dozens of major Chinese cities, it is deeply disappointing to encounter such an experience outside the country. A recent local news report in Vientiane even covered an arrest involving a scam syndicate operating out of this hotel. I sincerely hope this establishment will evolve into a five-star hotel that truly honors China's name in Vientiane.

Facilities: Excellent. Not inferior to domestic five-star hotels. The only thing is the door lock felt a bit insecure, and I've seen other guests mention this issue as well. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: Elegant and minimalist. Service: The staff were very enthusiastic! I couldn't get a taxi to That Luang Temple, so a staff member drove me there directly in the hotel's shuttle. They even offered to pick me up after I finished, though I ended up taking a taxi to another place, haha.

This hotel is located in Sanjiang China Town, and it's one of the more impressive ones in the area. With a large supermarket and Chinese restaurants nearby, the location is quite convenient. The rooms are spacious and new, with amenities comparable to a five-star hotel back home. The service is also excellent, with very prompt responses. They even offer free airport transfers. Breakfast on the second day was decent, with freshly cooked dumplings, rice noodles, and regular noodles available. The only awkward part is that the hotel is situated in a small alleyway filled with adult entertainment establishments. I was traveling with my parents, and thankfully, they thought they were legitimate beauty salons, barbershops, and massage parlors. Otherwise, that would have been quite a scene, phew!

I stayed in Vientiane for two nights, and this hotel was highly recommended by Ctrip. I was hoping for a better stay, as safety and hygiene are my top priorities in developing regions. I booked a suite that was more than double the price of a standard room, but overall, I wasn't very satisfied. There were stains on the toilet that hadn't been cleaned properly, and the soundproofing in the room was poor. The noise from motorcycles on the road and nearby residents was quite noticeable, making it impossible to sleep without earplugs. I also chose a room with a washing machine, but there was no laundry detergent. So, for nearly 2000 RMB spent on this hotel in Laos, the value for money was relatively low.

It’s also not far from the Mekong River, and some rooms even offer views towards the river. In case you book direct by Hilton website. 🏨 Check-in & Diamond Experience As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was able to check in at the Executive Lounge, which made the arrival experience even more comfortable. I originally booked an entry-level room and was very happy to receive an upgrade to a suite during this stay. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed. It was definitely a nice surprise and made the stay even more enjoyable. 💛 Service What impressed me most was the service. The staff across the hotel were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Ling at the Front Desk, who took great care of me, and Chit at the breakfast restaurant, whose attentive service made the morning even better. Both of them really stood out during my stay. 🍳 Breakfast Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was extensive, with plenty of choices, but I especially enjoyed the local Lao dishes. Close to Si Hom Market, there's a lot of food variety at night. The room was good, new, clean, and stylish, definitely good value for money. The location is excellent. Breakfast was served individually. The bathroom was nice, and the AC was cold. Coffee, tea, and drinking water were provided. I'm deducting 1 point because the Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out.

Loved this hotel. It's walking distance to everything. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The water is hot, towels and linens are great. The breakfast is until 10am, eggs, toasted ham and cheese sandwich and dragon fruit. The staff are kind and professional. They provide tea, coffee, toothbrushes, earplugs, bottled water, slippers, shampoo, soap, hairdryer and air conditioning. I stayed 3 nights and was reluctant to leave.

Located 5 minutes from the airport, which is really convenient. They organized a trip to the airport at 6.30 which was helpful, but a little difficult to organize. The receptionist only spoke Chinese, so it was rather difficult to communicate. Room was okay. Bed sheets had a hole in it, but no issue. Cleanliness of corridors and entrance hall was a bit off. But it was cheap enough. Breakfast was included. Chinese palate mostly.

Luckily, there was a room available and I was able to stay. The room wasn't top-grade, but I didn't notice any hygiene issues, and the air conditioning worked well and the shower had hot water, which I thought was acceptable. Breakfast was included, but it wasn't a buffet; it was a simple meal of toast and scrambled eggs or an omelet and salad, so if you have the option to skip breakfast, I think that would have been better. The location is very close to the night market, and there are many restaurants nearby, so I don't think you need to go out of your way to eat a mediocre breakfast.
