Very good and clean hotel, the hotel entrance is hard to find for the first time visit but staffs are welcoming, and you have to climb small stairs even after reaching guest floor by elevator, which I didn't like when I was tired from walking, there are water servers near guest rooms to fill in cold water anytime, breakfast quality is superb and you get air-blended milk tea, the meatballs at noodle counter are tasty and recommended, yet orange juice or fruit juice quality is not good compared to other 3 star hotels in Yangon. Bed quality is best of best so I slept very well

After nearly a decade away, I finally found myself back at this hotel—and what a welcome return it was. From the moment I stepped into the lobby until the moment I reluctantly rolled my suitcase out for the airport, the experience was nearly flawless (with just one teensy quibble—I’ll get to that in a bit). Check-in was smooth as silk, made even sweeter by the offering of fresh watermelon juice. A delightful touch! I did encounter a minor hiccup with my luggage—it took a while to reach my room, and I had to ring the concierge to investigate its whereabouts. But the porter was so genuinely apologetic, I almost wanted to apologize for bothering him. Guilt level: Catholic nun. Now, onto the room. It was wonderfully spacious, and while the decor still whispered “vintage business trip,” it was undeniably comfortable. In a world of modern hotels where rooms are the size of a generous walk-in closet and the lighting feels like a moody art installation, Parkroyal proudly remembers what hotels are supposed to be: roomy and restful. Would I have loved a USB charging port near the bed? Yes. Did I survive without it? Also yes. The one area that could use some serious love was the bathroom—more specifically, the shower bathtub combo. The tub had some visible mould on the floor, the shower head had a bizarre crush on the wall (refusing to face the actual human in the tub), and the toilet flush was positioned so low I wondered if it was designed by a committee of hobbits. Tall guests or elderly folks may need a bit of acrobatics to reach it. That said, the rest of the bathroom was perfectly functional. My room faced the swimming pool, which looked inviting, though I skipped it in favor of the gym—and what a gem it was. Not only did it feature the usual suspects (treadmills, dumbbells, etc.), but it also boasted a yoga area, TRX setup, rowing machine, and even a vertical climber. It felt more like a premium fitness club than a hotel gym. Breakfast deserves a standing ovation. A buffet that goes beyond the usual suspects, offering everything from local delights to Western staples, plus Japanese, Korean, Indian, and Chinese options. I may or may not have returned for seconds. And thirds. In short: would I come back? Absolutely. It’s a comforting mix of old-school hospitality with just enough modern touches. A charming classic that knows what really matters.

I booked a premier double room with city view Queen size bed via Trip.com The room I booked had a balcony, but when I checked in, it turned out that the room I got did not have a balcony, so I complained to the staff. The staff were happy to upgrade me to a room with a balcony. They were very enthusiastic. I really like the room. The room is spacious and comfortable. The price is not as expensive as you think. The hotel is located near Kandawgyi Lake. You can walk to Kandawgyi park for exercise or relax. However, there is no safe in the room. For those visiting Yangon, I recommend staying at this hotel.

The staff were very accommodating, from the receptionists to housekeeping💙 I stayed here for only one day as I extended my trip by a day. Don’t expect too much from the amenities, as the hotel is half the price of others with similar facilities—which is why it’s a good option😊 The breakfast buffet had limited options but was still decent —- They have a section where you can ask a staff member to cook an egg/omelet for you, but I didn’t explore the other options (breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, which is great if you have early morning plans, as it gets really hot once the sun rises during this month)…. The hotel has a gym, sauna, and pool. The room includes a TV, kettle, hairdryer, toiletries, and complimentary water and coffee….. The only downside was that hot water is not available 24 hours during my stay…. According to the receptionist, hot water is available only during specific hours to adhere to electricity conservation, if I’m not mistaken.. (if I’m not mistaken, starting from 9 AM, but I’m not sure until when) as they have I only realized this when I was about to shower around 8:30 PM and found that only cold water was available. I called the receptionist, and they sent housekeeping to assist…. I’m not sure if it’s a temporary thing only so if you’re concern with this, you can message them first… It’s still a good place to stay, even if it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, as Grab is available at a very reasonable price for getting to the places you want to visit.

Pros: The hotel has a European style, the staff is helpful, everything is new and clean, and the mattress, bedding, and towels are excellent. It's located in the city center. Cons: No water in the room, tiny rooms, windows don't open, and a meager à la carte breakfast in the cafe on the first floor. Because of the downsides, I'll choose a different hotel next time.

Good old hotel with antique atmosphere and courteous service, I liked the room but got dissaponted that the bedsheets and towels are too old and not clean, and it has some more caveats. The hotel is situated inward corner from the main street and need to call taxi every time just to get out, which is annoying if you want to go around the nearby area. Inside the hotel building there's one convenient store but the front desk never mentioned that and couldn't find it on the day of arrival. The biggest problem is there are so many noisy and dangerous street dogs nearby the hotel and they are barking at every car going in and out from the hotel, and when you try to walk back to the hotel it is really a big threat as they swarm and try to bite you even in the daytime. Those dogs are seriously damaging the hotel access and make the guests uneasy.

good location, close to shops and markets, you won’t go hungry. the hotel is in good condition, it took a long time to prepare, we arrived later, but waited for more than an hour, unhurried people. The food is specific, spicy in the restaurant, it would be better to go somewhere to eat yourself. The view from the window, of course, is sad; you can reach the neighboring building with your hand. but staying overnight for a couple of days was fine.

Location of the property is opposite to Myanmar Plaza shopping mall. It would be great if the size gate of the property could open for guests to walk a shorter distance to the mall. Service staffs were very friendly, especially Lenna who was very efficient during the check-out process and responded professionally to queries. Breakfast at D’Cusine was average needs improvement. There is also a Japanese Restaurant and a Korean restaurant for dining within the property. Swimming pool is excellent especially for family with kids. Club at basement played good music. Reception staff, security staff, other miscellaneous staff, and room cleaning staff all smile at the same time. I had a very comfortable stay for 5 days thanks to the friendly and friendly guidance. Review: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements. Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era. What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks during my stay in Yangon. The water pressure in the shower rooms varies from room to room, and some rooms have malfunctioning security boxes, so I always check before checking in and choose my room. During my stay, the air conditioning broke down (making a rattling noise and dripping water and ice), so I was upgraded to a slightly better room midway through. The front desk staff speak English, so if you have any problems, they'll be happy to help you. It's a very comfortable stay. The breakfast menu is pretty similar, but it's a buffet so you can eat your fill! I really like this hotel, and I plan to stay again the next time I visit Yangon.

And the slippers in the room are the best quality I have seen in Myanmar. Location is near from Sule pagoda and in the very centre of Yangon downtown. Only regret is outside noise and bad smell on the nearby street, there are so many roadside vendors and loud Indian music going on till evening. I woke up early in the morning by the noise of generator outside and opposite side of the hotel, for which the hotel is not responsible. I stayed at Melia with my family and from check in to check out we had a fantastic stay. Most of the staff were really obliging and helpful with a special note to Coe and her team in the Market Restaurant who ensured our breakfasts meals were always comfortable and our needs catered for. The hotel is situated near the picturesque Inya Lake and we had a Lake view room which made the morning wake up extra special. Melia is also next door to the Myanmar Plaza mall where there are plenty of shops, including a super market and the top floor has an extensive food court. Though if you wished to stay and eat at the hotel there are a number of restaurants in the hotel serving outstanding dishes. For the amenities there are a number of bars and a lounge on the top floor - though this is only available to those who have a specific room. During our stay we also made use of the swimming pool and the gym. Both very clean and well maintained with the gym having a good variety of equipment and fresh towels and water to hand. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and should we return to Yangon, Melia is a place we would certainly consider staying at again.

GGuest UserI stayed at Melia with my family and from check in to check out we had a fantastic stay.

Would stay again. Great location, close to area famous landmark by walking distance. Room need sound proof due to noise from street and near by park especially on morning. Also room key needed to be updated. Like old style bulk key chain back in the 80's . Great breakfast buffet and enjoy it. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Overall, very pleased with stay.
