An impossibly beautiful enclave of beauty nestled in the rolling Thurgau countryside. We stayed in the design room with our dog for three nights. The food is incredibly fresh. The staff are friendly and attentive. This place evokes the best of its minimalist monastic roots with everything you need and nothing you don’t! One of the best experiences we have enjoyed in Switzerland (and my wife and I have traveled a lot). We will be back. Thank you to the chef and all the staff!

Nice clean rooms and good breakfast in a former monastery, but unfortunately the place has lost its religious aura and spirituality; it has been transformed into a secular center where various groups offer educational courses. Rooms had less wood and more concrete than expected. The church had strict opening hours and was only accessible with a museum ticket. Definitely not a place inviting for meditation or prayer, as it had been intended when it was built. Electric cars can be charged at cost if you bring your own cable.

With noisy room neighbors it is impossible to find peace, everything is audible, very hard to hear. The garden rooms are beautifully and cleverly designed. The breakfast buffet was adequate, dinner fine, rather expensive and sometimes the service in the restaurant was even cheeky. We don't see it as a place of rest and power, the concept is good, and the whole complex is huge and impressive.

In May 2021 we stayed 4 nights in the Kartause Ittingen, in a design room. Ambience: wonderful piazza character surrounded by the various buildings. There is a wonderful busy hustle and bustle, it's really fun to watch. Rooms: design rooms, very clean and well-kept. In a historic outbuilding. Functionally, however, unhappily furnished. Service: Very friendly and courteous, professional. Food: very well organized even during Covid. The kitchen is characterized by the food that is grown in-house. Excellently cooked and very friendly served. All 4 meals were perfect, price: ok, the value is right. Conclusion: very recommendable. Value for money is absolutely right and the ambience is unique.

Eine Nacht in der Kartause hat leider nicht gereicht, alles zu entdecken, das dieser tolle Ort zu bieten hat. Die Klosteranlage bietet unglaublich viel, schöne Gärten. Man darf den Foxtrail nicht verpassen, der einen an noch verstecktere Orte führt. Das Deluxe-Familienzimmer hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Frühstück hat eine grosse Auswahl und ist unvergesslich.

Kurzer aber sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt anlässlich meines Geburtstages. Haben eine erholsame Pause gemacht mit feinem Ueberraschungs-Nachtessen. Das Zimmer im Oberen Gästehaus war einfach aber zweckmässig eingerichtet. Schönes, vermutlich kürzlich renoviertes Bad. Alles absolut einwandfrei und empfehlenswert.
