Everything was just spot on. The homemade food was super tasty, tea and coffee hot and the pots were always filled. Bob’s hospitality was 5star and his attention to make sure our glasses were always filled was just top notch. We all had a very enjoyable day and can’t recommend the beautiful Guest house enough.

First and foremost I have never stayed in a guest house before but by chance I booked the Registry for a family wedding as it was close enough to get a taxi to the venue. I was lucky enough to secure a double room complete with en suite bathroom and a super king sized bed which I have to say was extremely comfortable. Great coffee machine and Netflix supplied via the Tv on the wall as well as a book case with many different choices of books. The furniture was old school classic pieces and not the usual hotel all the same wardrobes and desks. Really cool. On arrival into the large front of house car park surrounded by a mature garden stocked with colorful plants and fresh herbs and the wafting warm smell of lavender. On entry I was impressed with the cleanliness of the reception area and was greeted by the owner who showed me to the room explaining the rules of the house. The walls up and downstairs are adorned with great framed pictures of genuine interest of their own private collection and again not the usual all the same prints you quite often see. I slept like a log on an extremely comfortable mattress with a low tog duvet which I didn’t need and had the window open as well. After a refreshing power shower in the morning at 0730 I descended the stairs into the dining room where clients sit at the long dining table joining others staying at the house. A glass of OJ and muesli with fresh berries of blueberries cherries and brambles with Greek yogurt I helped myself to. No baked beans to which the owner replied “we don’t do baked beans “ my pet hate and as a chef I’ve never served them myself, I don’t believe they have any place on a breakfast as they steal away the taste of everything else. Other clients were eating freshly made porridge and even the classic Aberdeen Rowie was offered with home made blackberry jam and a good quality orange marmalade rather than those awful plastic portions of confiture. Butter pats were cut to use on a spectate dish,a lovely touch rather than foil wrapped portions which I don’t like to see or use. Two perfect cooked fried eggs 1 sausage and crispy bacon alongside my granary toast. Endless cups of great quality lovely tasting coffee or various choices of tea kept coming.Excellent service. The great point of using a guest house like this is being able to meet other guests and striking up a conversation as you are all on the same table. The owners Bob and Anne chatted with us pointing out the paintings on the wall with the history involved in them, all very interesting. Some Hotels not all but some, you are just a number, you enter are given a key, told the times to dine and are normally seated at a table solo staring off into space. Not here at the Registry, I must add in walking around the property at the rear through the mature groomed garden how relaxing it all felt, even to the top off the garden where they have a beautiful built shed that they use for groups up to twenty four although I thought more for pri
