Decent hotel, with a good beach and helpful staff. Beautiful view from the room (if you take the ocean view).
The downside is that the road runs right behind the hotel. Although the hotel and the beach are fenced, the noise can be heard, especially when lying on the beach... even drowning out the sound of the surf. But this is a problem, as I understand it, for the entire southwest coast..
On the day of departure there was an early check-out, the staff prepared breakfast for us in the morning. and gave it with me.

This hotel is professionally run. The staff are excellent and very polite. The cooking is of a good standard. The room rates are very competitive and the overall level is as good as a uk or European hotel. It has a private beach beach ball kayak. Indoors various games books films pool table table tennis darts spa small gym and a nice pool.

We had a reservation for the ‘cape suite’ which is the best room this hotel has to offer. There is only one of these rooms in the hotel. When we arrived we were given the ocean suite and when we told them this isn’t the room we booked. They then said it was, but it most definitely wasn’t, the room was about 50 euro’s per night less than the room we booked. They straight up lied to us in our faces and would’ve charged us for another room. The room we booked was already booked by someone else so we couldn’t change. When we asked for a compensation they told us we could pay the price of the ocean suite, so no compensation at all… To top it all of the wifi was not working in the room. When we decided we didn’t want to stay at the Gartons cape we asked if we could get a taxi they told us no, a 5 star hotel that can’t get us a taxi. We get that mistakes like an overbooking can happen, but the way we were treated was very bad and most definitely not worth that amount of money.

Amazing sea view and beautiful hotel. Room is very nice and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. Food is very good. Cool and calm place to stay.small boutique hotel.good WiFi and short distance to waligama and Marissa.I really enjoyed place with my family

The food here was very good indeed, best Dhal I have ever had. Good location and pretty interior of the hotel. The bedrooms are in need of updating (we had 106) but we got over that and appreciated our lovely sea view and balcony. Upgrade to a suite is highly recommended. The beach here is lovely with a lifeguard, and the man made semi lagoon area just along the beach makes swimming safer and easier. Super beach cafe close with daily fish catch and soft drinks. All the team at Garton’s Cape are helpful, happy and very kind. Easy taxi into Galle for shopping but closer by there are some lovely beach bars and Italian Gelato bar/restaurant in Ahangama. Lots of gap year students and surfer types having fun.

One of the nicest locations with a private beach, room was lovely with a beautiful sea view backed by the curving sandy beach. We extended our stay it was so good, restaurant food was varied, superbly cooked and presented All staff were so attentive without being intrusive, overall experience better than most 5* UK hotels.

We had an AMAZING stay. The staff were all fantastic so helpful with everything, all the people we met were so kind. Breakfast was lovely sat with view of the beach and view from the room was beautiful. Easy to get to weligama, mirissa, unawatuna and galle! Thanks again!

Hotel is right on the beach with an amazing view from the room balcony During check in the reception staff informed that we have been upgraded to the Cape suite which was an amazing news. The staff is amazing, friendly and accommodating they are ready to assist you at any given point. The hotel manager made a point to speak to the guest. The room was clean and very spacious with all the amenities. The food was delicious too very good breakfast and dinner was served.. We were able to do kayaking at the hotel which was a amazing experience. To all the staff Thank you for your hospitality.

Had a great stay . Really great staff service. The highlight of this property its the privet beach. I have attached a fee pics check it out. The food was good. And they had few activities like snooker table tennis etc. On the whole it's a great value you get for the bucky you paid.

All in all a great hotel - very good breakfast (depending on occupancy a la carte or buffet) - great pool, very tasteful lobby and private beach - very friendly, courteous staff Unfortunately the hotel is on a busy road, so there was some traffic noise on the beach must be accepted. Another shortcoming was that the fitness room was closed and unfortunately access was denied even after repeated requests (probably due to the outdated equipment, which may no longer be safe).

Abbiamo passato qui gli ultimi 3 giorni di relax dopo il nostro intenso tour in Sri Lanka . Uno dei pochi hotel con spiaggia che grazie a due piccole insenature e’ possibile farsi il bagno in mare rimanendo sempre comunque vicino alla riva perché il mare in questo periodo nella costa ovest è molto agitato con fortissime correnti . Avevamo una seaview bella spaziosa e molto pulita. Piscina con prolungamento scenografico in hall , con vista sul mare . Hotel pulito , personale gentilissimo e attento . Ristorante al terzo ed ultimo piano con vista spettacolare . Particolari complimenti allo chef veramente bravo , essendo in pochissimi ospiti i piatti erano tutti alla carte’ , eccellenti . Ci siamo veramente rilassati con piacere in questo hotel . Molto consigliato

Nous avons passé de merveilleuse vacances ! L’hôtel possède un cadre idyllique, la plage est magnifique. La nourriture est excellente (demi-pension). Les employés sont extrêmement gentils et attentionnés. Les chambres sont propres, la vue est incroyable. C’était parfait !

É um hotel de no máximo 3*, muito antiquado e a precisar de muitos melhoramentos. Pequeno almoço muito limitado, sendo que no 1 dia foi buffet, e nos seguintes apenas se podia escolher uma opção da carta. Apenas uma pessoa da recepção fala inglês, o que torna a comunicação difícil quando essa pessoa não está. A limpeza do quarto e a troca de toalhas teve que ser pedida todos os dias, o wi-fi estava constantemente a falhar. Os preços do bate do restaurante, assim como dos próprios quartos são completamente desajustados para aquilo que é oferecido. Como pontos positivos: A localização é isolada, como tal é ideal para descansar. A praia está sempre vazia e a piscina tem um bom tamanho. E o staff apesar das limitações a nível linguístico era simpático.

Wir hatten dieses Hotel am Ende einer gebuchten Rundreise mit SKR für drei Nächte und hatten von zuhause aus, gleich noch Verlängerung gebucht. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gut eingerichtet, Kühlschrank und Safe sind vorhanden. Leider lag unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoss und hatte weder private Terrasse (wir konnten nur direkt in den Garten) noch Balkon. Umbuchen war wegen der Hauptsaison Weihnachten und Dezember-Vollmond und anstehendem Jahreswechsel nicht bzw. nur für einzelne Tage möglich, alles ausgebucht. Andere waren da schlauer oder besser informiert und hatten Zimmer im 1. oder 2. Stock gebucht, diese Zimmer hatten alle Balkon (bei gleicher Zimmerkategorie). Wir haben uns damit abgefunden und ehrlich: wie lange ist man bei einem Strandhotel im Zimmer… Der Service war ausgesprochen nett und wirklich aufmerksam, alle Wünsche wurden erfüllt. Der junge Mann an der Rezeption ist besonders zu loben, der wusste Preisvorstellung für Tuck Tuck Fahrten, hatte Regenschirm oder Bücher im Zugriff und meine täglichen Wünsche nach einem dritten Handtuch für das Bad wurden fast immer erfüllt 😉. Getränkeservice am Pool und Stand war immer gegeben, dazu ausreichend Liegen, Matten und Handbücher, die immer sofort gebracht wurden. Essen im Restaurant war Büfett oder Auswahl aus kleiner Karte, alles lecker und im Restaurant der beste Service den wir auf der gesamten Reise hatten. Frühstücksbuffet bot auch lokale Bestandteile wie String Hoppers oder Kiri Hodi oder Curry, es wurde auch immer Eier nach Wunsch gebraten. Ein Fitnessraum wird aktuell eingerichtet. Was außerdem sehr bemerkenswert war: der Manager war immer vor Ort und hat mit jedem Gast geplaudert. In diversen Hotels der Rundreise hatten wir das anders erlebt, da gab es kopflos agierendes Personal und bei Problemen noch nicht mal einen Ansprechpartner.
