Is a decent hotel located in downtown Albany. Is convenient for an overnight stop over. Rooms and bathrooms are satisfactory. Bed is comfortable.

The hotel is located near a viaduct but no noise. There are no slippers, toothbrushes, or bottled water in the room, which is more environmentally friendly, but relatively simple for domestic people. It seems like a newly constructed hotel so as expected it was clean and modern. The front desk staff were amazing and did everything they could to help me out when I needed anything. My only issue with this hotel was the parking situation. Similar to many hotels in Washington DC, this hotel seems to only have paid parking avialable.

Let's start off with the good. The staff was excellent, very friendly and the room was very clean. We stayed there two nights and others are correct the breakfast food was cool both days. The sink in the bathroom is missing the aerator which causing it to spray. (I told them at checkout) The parking is bad. We decided to use the valet parking at $28 a night. The 2nd night after a concert we got back, there were 3 others trying to find parking and the valet parking was full and nobody there. I went to the front check in and the girl that was on duty was very nice and gave me her parking space. These rooms have the thermostats that are energy saving and turn back the temp when you are not in the room. Not a fan of coming back to a cold room but they do warm up to the set temp. At checkout I asked for a receipt and was told no because I used a 3rd party to book the room. This was the 1st time this has happened.

The experience was pretty good. I reserved two room, one room the TV remote didn’t have batteries and the front desk said nothing could be done about it until the next day because maintenance was off already, however we were only there one night. Also the valet didn’t want to take our car and just said to park at the meters and don’t pay because we will “likely” not get a ticket since we were leaving in the morning. Other than those two things everything else was great!

I hope that the general manager of the hotel knows what a gem they have in Brenda S., who was working the front desk this weekend. She worked late on Saturday and I was so surprised to see her back early the next morning. It turns out she got home near midnight, and then got a call at 5 am to cover for someone who called in sick. And then came back to work in a snowstorm! The amazing thing is--she was still smiling, welcoming folks to breakfast, checking people out with kindness and efficiency. This is the kind of exemplary customer service one rarely sees today--and I hope the Hyatt Place Albany will recognize and reward her exceptional work ethic. She is awesome.
(I also enjoyed using the onsite gym.)
